As far as I can remember, only living, flesh and blood creatures can be planeswalkers. Demons and Angels are manifestations of black and white mana; they don't have a soul.

I mean, unless you give a flavor reason.

I've had my eye on this for a little while, but only recently got a good idea for a character. I'll try and get a CS up today, but in the meantime:

A Planeswalker spark can only manifest in a creature that:
-Is alive
-Was born
-Is sapient
-Has a soul

Our Angel/Demon friend seen above is sending up Red Flags all over the place.

I'll also say that directly translating Planeswalker abilities and libraries into an RP is probably a bad idea. Limits creativity, looks painful to "balance" and is sure to induce headaches. I would far more recommend that we have general write-ups for character abilities, with maybe a couple of cards listed just for fun. Perhaps something like:

Magic:

Skills:

Equipment:

Thoughts?

EDIT: Another nitpick, but looking at the OP, Planeswalkers do not have the inherent ability to time travel. Karn could only time travel because he was specifically designed to do so by Urza, a master artificer, and even then it had apocalyptic repercussions. Sarkhan traveled through time because of some weird ghost that Ugin left behind (it's not really adequately explained), not by his own power.

Technically speaking, ALL blue and/or white planeswalkers can time travel even post-mending. All they need to do is go to Esper, pay tuition fees, and study Clockworking.

You have to step back and realize how obtuse that would be.

"I cast Omnipotence. Every spell is free for me now."

"You don't have enough mana."

"Prove it."

"Okay, forget it, I Counterspell Omnipotence."

"I cast Counterflux to counter Counterspell."

"You didn't have that in hand."

"Prove it."

"Forget it."

"I cast Emrakul, the Aeons Torn. I take an extra turn, and whenever it attacks, you sacrifice six permanents."

"I have no idea how either of those would work in roleplay. I guess I'll just pack up my character sheet and leave."

Board games do not directly correlate to roleplay, unless the entire system is dedicated to it. I have no idea how Planeswalker abilities and libraries would even work in RP, since there is little concept of "turns," and only having access to, at most, seven spells at any time, seems frustrating. How do you roleplay having a hand full of land? It's inane to think about.

Over what medium would we be doing that? Text RP? I'm not even going to begin to list the reasons why that would be a bad idea. What's unrealistic is actually expecting entertaining and interesting roleplay from what would effectively be chess-by-mail.

What you're describing isn't a "fusion," it's playing MtG, and trying to force a roleplay narrative into the game. An actual fusion would be far more reasonable. Say, introducing a mana system of some sort. While I'm still not a fan of "mechanics" in play-by-post RP, that would be a far more desirable alternative.

Look, we know for a fact that the RP will be taking place in the MTG universe. Believe it or not, the card game's mechanics make NO SENSE within the context of the universe. Planeswalkers don't take turns in attacking each other, and they certainly don't have to increase the number of lands they are drawing mana from.
