@SifterWell...technically speaking, from where he was committed into the first group of tests, that was about 7 hours after the event/when he left. From where Rosa had been executed informally, maybe 22-23 hours. That was what I am hoping, but I might've made a few mistakes regarding the time period in my posts, which I apologise for.

Hey everyone I'm sory the past week was hell for me and I barely had extra time for anything else. I have plenty of time for RPs but I basically just ignored you guys as a result earlier. Looks a tasty rp. I am getting a crazy idea of some... past relic faction suddenly popping back up. In the form of a space mission having gone wrong centuries ago, planet of the apes style.

That...might actually work. If you want to have them back in time to interact with people in the RP though, you are gonna have to assume they crashed a few years ago. Quarantine and all that. And will they be in cryogenic supension? The old order did have that tech.

Its alright. Just post if you can. And if you cant, it would be helpful if you gave someone permission to move your character from A to B so they dont get left behind.

Yes, they were in cryogenic suspension. They were a extrasolar expedition who went wrong. They were set adrift in space, and they decided it'd take centuries to fix the mess, so they slept while the onboard AI computer fixed the route.

The computer managed to get them back on track, but... it had happened a lot of time, so much the computer had to switch off cryogenics for the vast majority of the crew, prioritizing the indispensable ones, until a handful of them remained. And then they found out their world... or what was left of them.

And then the question whether the New Order would treat them fairly or say "hey, free lost tech" and rub them the wrong way to snatch allegedly hideously powerful pre-war firepower (they would have a stock of advanced weapons, but since it was, well, a expedition, just the minimal to ensure safety to scouts. The terraforming tools would even be more valuable.).

Hmmm...im gonna have to say no to the terraforming part. The old order never had anything like that, and if the new order got their hands on it, they would just terraform the rest of the world, making this entire RP pointless.

Honestly, it cant be anything that upsets the balance of power too much. Weapons cant be too advanced and stuff like that.

Okay, i'll make just a scientific expedition to an extrasolar planet. So no terraforming. And weapons... well I suppose the most they'd have would be a couple of Ray guns and rifles who probably can't be replicated nor reverse engineered yet, and a space-capable dropship with er, that much, just a space capable transport. The mothership and the AI could've been turned into scraps in the reentry, as the rest of the cryostasis tech, the scientific equipment and the medical bay.

One more thing. What makes the ray guns any more effective than your average gun? Why would they use them?

Or are they obsolete compared to normal firearms, but have less of a chance of causing a hull breach in space?

A- Hull breach B- The restocking can be done with energy cells or batteries (which could only be produced in the Old Order) C- Recoilless.

I suppose the firepower is comparable to an actual bullet gun in terms of damage, except they don't have knockback and burn through instead of piercing (less penetration).

Besides they just look darn cool.

Light IS radiation. But I suppose they're somewhat working on thermal damage so it's IR-Red-Visible light spectrum. Don't want to use an X ray and irradiate half of the crew XD

Although if you don't like the idea of a depillatory laser on steroids burning through stuff in short bursts I guess I could make a futuristic ballistic weapon who uses EM rather than chemicals to propel bullets (Gauss or Railgun designs).

Alright, accepted. I cant see them replacing standard firearms, but i suppose they would make good status symbols. For officers and such.

TBH, I just thought of Stark Trek when I decided to chuck in the ray guns. I can work with... futuristic reworkings of current guns.

Well right now, there's a fork. Support the obviously corrupt New Order as the last beacon of something that resembles civilization, say "fuck it, let's take over". or help the underdogs. Can't really decide... hmm.

Depending on their disposition they'll be counseling the New Order, or escaping from the confinement lab. XD
