@AtomicNutI might end up borrowing one of those NPCs, if that is okay with you of course, for a side-plot/character development towards my main antagonist, though that is only if you are able to give me that.
@Vocab@VulkanI have updated my Character Page Post to include James, although I have updated James' biography a little bit more. It made me wonder and have a, hopefully, good idea. Seeing as James Highwood is a respected representative of the New Order, not just the 52nd Detachment, I was wondering if maybe he could've been involved with the development and increase in notoriety with both Nick and Juno, which could impact them if something were to happen to him?
Age: 26 (Apparent, due to cryostasis his real age is probably centuries)
Faction (if any):Palailogoi (singular Palailogos) AKA Old Worlders.
Gender: Male
Appearance: Leonidas is a fairly tall (6'1'), muscular man, with a chiseled jawline and three days worth of stubble. He has rather hard angled features across his face, along slightly tanned skin. He has dark hair and, surprisingly, icy blue eyes. Ramirez usually dons a leather jacket, a tanktop with his astronaut dogtags, baggy camo pants, leather belt and boots. He has a shoulder holster.
Nationality: Born in California, although he has a melting pot ancestry of Russian (his mother) and American/Spanish (his father)
Personality: Ramirez can be considered one idealist that's far removed from his place and time. Even more so after what happened in his life. Leo doesn't talk much these days, and one of his hobbies is watching people go by his side. He likes to help people in the best way he can, even if it's a little nudge or tap in the back. He also likes to entertain kids. Yet, inside Ramirez burns a fire that, when awakened, it stirs his self to the heights of determination. Never compromising what they are, Ramirez is loyal, a stubborn fighter who gives it all to defend those who cannot in the first place, even though he may suffer. The world sucks, but he isn't going to give up like others in trying to change it. Sometimes, and only sometimes, the old Ramirez, the peerless adventurer who wanted the best for mankind, stirs even.
Equipment: Ramirez does keep a pocket knife as a tool in his self. He also carries his trusty Kirk .50 gun, a Gauss operated pistol which outperforms most non-lost tech side firearms in one of his shoulder holsters. However, the iron ammunition it uses must be forged specifically, and the sort of power cell it operates hasn't been produced since the Six minute war. For that reason, he also carries a .45 Colt knockoff in an opposite shoulder holster, for the more common opponents. He also owns the Picard Gauss Rifle, a similar design to his Kirk gun, only in assault rifle type. Likewise, the ammo and cells for this one are also scarce aswell. (Only 3 Kirk pistols and 3 Picard rifles exist in the world at this moment.) Finally, he has a cellphone tied to a secure line.
Skills: Leo is a beast. Not literally, but when one combines the exhaustive physical cutoff for expeditionary astronaut with special operations training, one can easily see why Leo was chosen as the security chief of the expedition (AKA the guy you have to call if you need to kill nasty stuff). He's excellent in Close Quarters Combat, both armed and unarmed, he seldom tires from running or climbing, and he's a good shot with a gun, both with pistols and rifles. He is a great swimmer, and he has notions of scuba diving. He is also versed in sabotage, tracking, demolitions and explosive fabrications. On the mind side, his astronaut training makes him keep cool at all times, and he's a surprisingly fast thinker (for such a military and muscle oriented person). He however, is inept at singing and all the plants he takes care of die inexplicably. Lastly, he's fluent in English, Russian and Spanish.
History: Leo was born in Los Angeles, from the highly unlikely but comedy gold union of an eccentric tech guru and a female russian special forces expat. Of course, it was very different back then. More people, less wastelands. Leo did lead a sheltered life in his youth, but he never let that rot his soul. He tried to be kind and supportive with whomever he met, and he always harbored a feeling of gratitude towards people in general for being lucky in his life. The bizarre hijinks of his household made his lifelong aspirations quite quirky. Either a space marine, a rodeo clown, or a luchador who was also a tech guru. Out of all three, the first one seemed the more feasible, so Leo enlisted in the special forces program.
Of course, after receiving some motherly encouragement (read: Hellish Russian training) Leo passed the special forces training with flying colors... and was soon to be deployed, when word spread of his love of space and tech. The Space Agencies of the world, in an absurd display of arrogance and navel gazing, decided to fleet a series of scientific expeditions to uncharted extrasolar parts, trying to one up eachother. For that reason, Leo fit the agenda perfectly. Not many trained soldiers wanted to go outside the Solar System on a What-If-There-Are-Scary-Aliens back then. Ramirez, on the other hand, had the time of his life, and nerded out all the way to the moon.
He even managed to woo the medical officer Monica Sanders, and he enjoyed a time of space bliss and romance aswell. Until a rogue cosmic object hit the mothership, sent the expedition ofcourse and triggered a series of cataclysmic events that had no other way out but to sleep for centuries until the AI (which Leo loathed, as it had quite a pedantic British machiney accent) fixed its course. Resigning to his fate, he entered his cryosleep pod.
When he awoke, everything had gone much worse. Yes, they had reached earth. But it had been a crash landing. And the cryopods had shut down one by one, until only ten astronauts including himself remained. But that wasn't the worst. Earth, apparently had decided to torch itself out while they were gone, and only city remained among the ashes.
And god, these guys weren't the kindest left. After some berating, gun toting, and mandatory quarantine the paranoid earthlings presented themselves as the New Order representatives, with all kinds of fanfare. But at least, they offered the Old World astronauts food and a place to stay, if only because, as Leo noted, they were salivating on the perspective of suddenly gaining more of the lost tech. The existance of the astronauts was made somewhat secret, with the codename Palailogoi ("old World", the name of the Byzantine empire dynasty) used to refer them. It became some sort of title.
However, after some time, Ramirez did notice the ugly things about the New Order. The lack of care towards the citizens they did display when not speaking in front of a camera was alarming. He was remembered of a funny moustachoed guy of the 20th century. Or were they two? There were a lot of moustaches back then. The only saving point of them was that the supposed freedom fighters of Utopia weren't any better. Still, after their eventual crush and defeat, the methods employed by the New Order made him, and the rest of the Palailogoi wary oftheir true objectives, and after one (or a dozen) tortures too much, Leo left alongside the rest of his comrades.
If there wasn't a proper resistance, now splintered in many factions puffing themselves important, the last scions of the Old Order, the Palailogoi would step in to help the weak. And so, Leo took the role of fixer and drifter, the mysterious shining knight that appears in the back alley, breaks a couple of noses and disappears as soon as he entered.
Other: He obviously has a crush in Monica Saunders. His favorite treat are cookies, he isn't above playing child games and he likes to have vodka and Martini.
Faction Name:Palailogoi AKA Old Worlders. Allegiance: Formerly they threw their lot with the New Order, but the repeated callousness has made them join the ranks of the resistance groups. They're not trusted by them yet, as expected. Strength: 10 Aim/Objectives: To aid people in need, and recreate a better order, something closer to the Old World, to rehabilitate the world in a third place. History: The Palailogoi are a remnant, the tiniest fraction of the Old Order, that due to a fluke in outer space, were left untouched. Finding themselves in a dystopian far future, they struggled to find their place. At first, they deferred to the already existing New Order. But the lack of care towards the populace made them rethink their allegiance. Defecting from their side, they're a small but noticeable thorn in the foot of the regime.
Looks good. However, by the space agencies of the world, do you mean they all worked together? Because seeing as just about every power in the world was at each others throats, id say thats unlikely. You could just say it was a russian or american agency.
Ooh! Maybe the object that hit the ship was fired by a rival power!

Well, together and not so together. It was more of a "I can do it better than you" kind of showy contest. They did the same thing, but competing with eachother. Like the space race of the cold war. The sabotage could've happened. I'll edit the name of the medical officer to sound american rather than Russian to point towards the fact and i'll add that extra info. I'll also mention his mother was an expat.Done.
People of the various resistance factions who were caught in the Nexus club raid. Call it a PR move of the Old Worlders to show they broke with New Order.
