Personality: One would expect the so-called eccentric club president of an Occult Club, a person with vested interest and belief in the supernatural, to be an audacious, broad-speaking, probably kinda chuuni class of being. In this particular case, one would be horribly wrong. While in her youth, Mitsuko did in fact fit that description rather well, the trials of being told "Ghosts aren't real, you dummy" over the course of her life have worn her down, turning energy into resignation. Rather than excitedly grabbing someone by the shoulders and shaking them whilst yelling about the existence of a ghost, Mitsuko is the kind to dryly roll her eyes as she denounces the empirical beliefs of another. Mitsuko can thus be compared to a high-class ice queen who does not find passion in the occult, but merely asserts it as a fact of life.
In her interactions with others, she is straight and to the point, seeming to want to end conversations as quickly and efficiently as possible. Thus, while she is not bad at reading the atmosphere, she often takes on the traits of someone who is. For instance, someone with said deficiency might walk into a funeral, look around, and say "Oh wow, who died?" whilst being oblivious to the event being a funeral. Mitsuko would walk into a funeral, look around, and say "Oh, who died?" whilst being perfectly serious about the question. Of course, given that she's not some sort of emotionless robot with no sense of social cues, this is an exaggeration.
In sum, Mitsuko's simply a standard kuudere who views the supernatural as an internalized premise rather than a horizon's goal.

History: A simple life, on the whole. Mitsuko was raised by a mundane family, and was a rather standard child. Like any other child, she believed in the classic supernatural stories told by parents to their children. Her life continued on in a predictable manner, the young Mitsuko going through school happily; her academic performance didn't stand out, and she could be called a precisely mediocre individual.
This, however, changed around the time she was twelve. While her classmates had outgrown those childish stories of ghosts and monsters under the bed, Mitsuko constantly yammered about their existence, carrying a net in her backpack to catch ghosts in case she found any, and trying to recruit classmates for the task of battling the supernatural. As a result, she became something of a pariah, "that weird ghost girl". Mitsuko was initially unchanged by this treatment, but over the years gradually became more withdrawn on the matter. It wasn't that she believed in the occult; to her, she knew the occult was real, but the mindless dregs around her simply refused to face that truth. Dismissing them as useless for failing to acknowledge this truth of the world, Mitsuko ceased to outwardly express these beliefs of hers, and instead simply focused on herself. In that sense, she largely became a "normal" individual again, an ice queen who fit into the school demographic perfectly. While her prior beliefs remained the same, the expression of them became less present. There are some rumors present regarding secret activities she has taken over the past few years, though, chief among them the creation of multiple "ghost hunting" tools. Regardless, as she no longer outwardly acted like "that weird ghost girl", her ostracization was largely weakened.
A short while after the beginning of her final year at Yurei High, after numerous appeals, Mitsuko finally managed to get faculty approval for the re-establishment of the Occult Club, which had been disbanded several years prior.

Skills:

Occult Knowledge: Mitsuko's mental compendium of the occult can be considered unmatched among the students and faculty of Yurei High, as well as the surrounding prefecture. While this sounds impressive, her overall occult knowledge is actually low, considering how large the pool is, but among humans this is still pretty impressive.

Photography: Quick with a camera and possessing excellent finger-focused reflexes. If she was more deviant, Mitsuko could probably make a living by selling panty shots.

Item Creation: The talent to combine mundane and supernatural items to create "magitech artifacts" which transcend human reason, reaching into the realms of the possible and impossible. Providing she possesses one supernatural artifact to serve as the "spark", and one mundane artifact to serve as the "base", she has an uncanny knack for combining them into a single cohesive existence. This skill can incidentally also be known under the moniker of "Duct Tape Ownership".

Appearance:
Eva stands at 5 foot 7 and has a thin physique. Her skin is rather pale, a contrast to her piercing blue eyes. Her hair is rather long, and reaches down just past her waist and is the same raven black as her eyebrows.

Personality:
After years of moving from country to country and from school to school, Eva has developed a sort of faux-confidence. While she'll happily strike up a conversation with just about anyone, she's hesitant to reveal to much about herself, seeing it as pointless as she expects to just move away again soon. She is very open minded, and will probably believe anything if it's said convincingly enough. That being said, she isn't dumb. She does well in all of her classes and has an aptitude for languages and maths. Eva is also very easily embarrassed, if someone were to say something about her that is even obviously untrue, but still embarrassing then you will no doubt see her covering her cheeks with her hands in an effort to conceal her blushing.

History: They are a high school student. Don't go crazy.
Eva was originally born in, Ostrava in the Czech Republic. Her father was a wealthy Polish business advisor, famed for his ability to turn failing businesses into well known brands. Her mother had the much less exciting job of being an online teacher. As a result of her fathers job, Eva only managed to spend the first 5 or so years of her life in her home city before she was forced to move to, Germany where her father had a long term job set up in which he advised a supermarket chain.

Eva stayed in Germany until she was around 9, when she was forced to move yet again. This time to Wales. Wales was a funny place to her, and was where she primarily learned English, which is why she sounds rather strange when speaking it. Again, her time in Wales was relatively short lived and she was moved to Slovakia, where she spent the rest of her time up until she moved to Japan around 2 months ago. She's been encouraged both by her language counsellor and her parents to join a few clubs to get integrated better, which is why she's currently joining the occult club, having mistaken the Japanese word for 'occult' as 'music'. Don't ask how she did it, but she did.

Appearance:
Seiko has red hair, and is somewhat on the tall side, standing around 5'6". Make-up isn't really her thing, though she does know how to use and wear it. Appearances are important, after all, and what better way to get a good story than to don a bit of makeup and do a bit of...flirting with the head of the sports team? Her dress varies, though is mostly unremarkable. In school, she's not one much for a dress code, preferring to wear jackets and other things that can easily conceal stuff. She carries her trusty camera and various notepads in here. Usually wears long jeans and sneakers.

Personality:
Seiko, well, to put bluntly...well, some would call her a mischievous little rascal who always stick her nose where it doesn't belong. She spends most of her free time looking for the next big story that would probably get her 'famous'. After all, its her dream to be a top investigative journalist/news reporter/best selling novelist.

Really, she's not picky as long as she gets to write. Messing with other people in the process is just a bonus.

This gets her into no small amount of trouble with everyone. Most people find her incredibly annoying - especially the staff, who on a few occasions have had to...'remove' her from areas of limits to students when no one was supposed to be there. Really, if she was an adult she'd have at least four trespassing charges.

Of course, that's only if she gets caught. But she's pretty good at talking her way out of things.

Despite this, she is rather friendly to most, though she does have a sharp tongue and a bit of a mouth on her. Just expect her to constantly be looking for dirt or other information on anyone or anything so she can write a little blurb about it on her blog. (which, she might add, has quite a few followers from around the area) And you, will be dragged along whether you like it or not. Also, be prepared for uncomfortable situations and questions. Her questions know no boundaries.

One thing, however, is that she denounces all thing supernatural as tricks of the light, wind, electricity or some other chance anomaly. Ghosts? Pfft. They don't exist. Just smoke and gas. Until someone shows her hard evidence, proof she can actually touch, test, and otherwise interrogate with her pen, she will not accept it as real. Other than writing and gathering stories, she herself likes reading, and will usually sit down with a good work of fiction for relaxing. Despite her love of fictional stories and such, she denounces all occult and ghost things as mere fantasy. She always carries a camera and a pen with her. Always.

"Me? Pfft, I'm more interested in you! Come on, any embarrassing stories? Gossip? Place I can get good pantyshots? I'll pay you~"

History:
Seiko has lived a relatively normal life. Her father is a retired police officer, and her mom is a librarian at a local library. She spent a lot of her childhood in the library helping her mom work, and reading a lot of books - from educational, to fictional, to some she probably she should not have read until she was older. (yeah, she's always had an insatiable curiosity. You tell her not to go somewhere or not to do something, she will find a way to do it.)

While this would have made some people shy bookworms, it turned her into a veritable fountain of information that wanted more. Whether it be useless, smart, or something completely unrelated, she was always a smart and somewhat crafty kid. She even had a healthy curiosity...and fear, of the supernatural for a time. Well, until she found out the ghost that was supposedly trapped in the basement was her dad and his friends playing pool and other games rather loudly. (and somewhat drunkenly).

Since then, she took a healthy interest in the occult, but not to try and prove it...rather, to try and disprove it through any logical means possible. An occult club? Well, how about that! She's always up for debunking nonsense and making people look like idiots. Its her favorite pastime, after all!

Charles

Name: Charles Thompson

Gender: Male

Age: 17

Personality: Charles is a menace. There's no other way to put it. Pulling pranks, picking on people and basically being a complete jerk to everyone around him is Charles's daily routine. He has a distinct contempt for rules and authority, and often goes out of his way to annoy teachers and other figures around the school. He is very arrogant and likes to intimidate people into doing things for him. Once he has made up his mind on something, he rarely ever changes it. However, to his parents he acts like a model student. He hardly ever has much remorse for his actions. He is very skeptical of things and if you try to talk anything about the supernatural to him, he will either punch you or get others to laugh. As a result, he holds the Occult Club in very low regards. He can be very foolish with his actions if he gets to involved in things.

History: Charles was born in Kensington, London, to a rich family of lawyers. Everything that he ever needed was pretty much handed to him on a plate, which lead to his arrogant attitude to life. He went to a snobbish primary school, which was filled with people just like him. He loved it there, and was quite happy. But, at the age of 9, he moved to Japan, against his every will. His parents had got a new business opportunity there, which would make them even richer. But Charles didn't want to leave. His parents tried everything to make him happy, but, try as they might, nothing succeeded.

On his first day at Yurei High, Charles got into a fight with someone who had tripped him up as he was walking through the corridors. Lets just say that no one ever bothered Charles again after that. He rose the ranks of popularity due to his intimidation. He dumped girlfriend after girlfriend, leaving tears in his wake. People who attempted to snitch on were dealt with harshly. Charles didn't do amazing in tests, yet he didn't do horribly. He stayed average, to keep himself off the teacher's radar.

But on one fateful night, Charles had broken into the school after dark to vandalize the walls with spray paint. Halfway through the act, out came the head of the Occult Club from a nearby room. With her phone. She had taken a picture of Charles spraypainting the walls. Matsushima told him that he could join the Occult club and the picture wouldn't fall into the hands of the principal, Charles's parents and the police. Charles lunged at the her, but was left on the ground after the girl stepped out of the way and tripped him up. She showed Charles her phone. She had typed 110 (the Japanese police number) into the dialpad and her thumb was lingering dangerously over the call button. He had no choice. He was now a (reluctant) member of the Occult Club.

Skills:

-Charles has a distinct way with words and can lie his way out of most situations.
-Charles cannot kick very well, at all, but his punches are brutal.
-He is quite light on his feet and can sneak around quite well.
-He is an expert at using fear to his advantage.

Other: Charles has been secretly planning to steal Matsushima's phone and delete the picture from day one.

Daichi Izumi

"I'm only here because my sister signed me up for this..."

Name: Izumi Daichi

Gender: Male, though often mistaken for a Female

Age: 17

Appearance:
Daichi has purple hair just like his own twin sibling who begged him to join in just for the fun of screwing around with people. He often has himself in rather practical and regular attire most of the time, unlike his sister who can sometimes be a bit over the top at times. Despite the duo appearing the same, he can easily fade in and out of existence due to the fact that he keeps himself from being anything outstanding, unlike his sister. The only way to really tell the difference is the color of their eyes as his are blue, and his sister's are more of a turquoise color ... that, and his sisters "appealing areas" (to guys) are about the average size of a high school girl's.

His physique is more or less average to say the least, and like his sister, he has cream colored skin for the most part, slightly tanned though. His original hair color was black, but for now it is a purplish-lavender color. He and his sister stand about the same height of 6'1", and suffice to say she is a really tall girl. While Akemi won't reveal her weight, Daichi weighs about 176 pounds... well, from what he estimates anyways. They both also have really, really long hair, and both of them refuse to get it cut.

Daichi's clothing often changes from time to time, either going about in his usual wear of school clothes to putting on a green tank-top with a strange jacket on him. It seems he has an assortment of jackets ranging from different designs, colors, etc. His favorite, however, is the one with tufts of white fur coming out of the edge of a hood, along with the rest being a plain black. He will usually wear this outside of school for some reason.

Personality:
Calm and collected, Daichi isn't one to be worried about such straightforward matters, and prefers to enjoy his slice of life that he has left on him. He keeps a bright outlook on life and doesn't enjoy being tied down to despair for the most part as things will get better. He doesn't let his own obsessions and ambitions get the best of him, and stays rational even in the most unsavory of situations.

Even with the positives, Daichi is still considered to be very stubborn and sticks to the belief that no supernatural thing truly exists. He will often search for reasons to disregard such things, rather poorly to say the least, like he was hallucinating or there was a slight draft because of an open window. His stalwart beliefs leave him teetering at times between true logic and just sheer stupidity, even with his intelligence.

Like his sister, Daichi tends to be a tad mischievous from time to time since he is considered to be a very beautiful girl, despite being a guy. He can often use this to his advantage, giving him impeccable leverage against someone by seducing them in some way. If he feels bored in the slightest and feels like doing something, it's either screwing around with a guy or girls head, or practicing Kendo in his backyard. Even with his wily ways, he can still prove to be a bit of a tactician, planning things ahead of time.

Even with his wits, he ironically isn't good with girls, or dense as put by most. He can't properly tell if someone is infatuated with the gut and this sometimes results in him breaking a few hearts or two. This often leaves him crushed as he dislikes seeing someone in a sad state, and will work to figure out how to lighten their spirits... this does not exempt him from having crushes.

Daichi is one of the most dedicated and loyal people at the school, even though he gives the impression of a lazy student who doesn't care about life. He works hard on almost any assignment given, and gives it his all when practicing Kendo. His loyalty is derived from myriads of points in his life that left a sizable impact on him. If a friend is being harmed, he will physically take the blows for them or verbally bash the assailants until there is not a piece of them left.

History:

"This chick is the leader of the club, huh? She sure is cute... but I heard she can be a bit zealous when it comes to this occult b.s.... God damn it Akemi, what did you get me into this time?"

Daichi and his sister originally started out as regular siblings leading out ordinary lives. Born as twins to their mother and father, they had a difficult time keeping up with the eccentric duo who resorted to mischief and mayhem quite often... the latter having to deal with it the most. His mother was a business woman who had quite the obsession with the occult, ditto for the stay at home dad who could make some mean takoyaki. The parents would often tell whimsical stories, detailing each passing verse with mystic prose that could be attributed to the supernatural.

While Akemi became enamored with the occult, Daichi was much more skeptical, and found these to be more than childish fairy tales. Even though it lasted with her much longer than Daichi, he could not deny that he found the stories interesting. However, as they were growing up, Daichi would often disprove of the ideas she composed, much to her disapproval. Of course, with his reasoning, most people believed him...

And this resorted to "splitting" the twins in the minds of other students.

One was a girl who was a fanatic for the occult while being extremely popular, another was a guy with a girly appearance who had a suspended belief due to logical comings and was lesser known than his sister. Thankfully, this gave them leeway to one thing that they were similar in - pranks. This started when Akemi began flirting with a guy, teasing him so much that he went after her... and almost made out with Daichi after proclaiming their love to the wrong person.

While Daichi is a bit serious, he won't deprive himself of any sort of misconduct if it quells his boredom and kept going with this as he grew up. Even with him being one of the laziest students in school, the boy was roped into a few things by his sister who loved to cause minor dilemmas in his life. One of which was going on a date with another girl, another being Kendo Club (which he actually enjoys). Either way, he can only pray that she stops this conduct soon.

...

Well, she didn't, and much to his surprise, he was dragged into another peculiar club. For Daichi, he realized that this was the crowning moment of pranks... and was made even worse by her incessant begging for him to stay since she wanted to actually join the club... but already was swamped with her schedule. Even though he was annoyed with her antics, after enough imploring Daichi gave in begrudgingly.

Now he is off to see what will transpire next with the club leader after the things he has heard about her...

Skills:
Drawn to Perfection: Daichi spends most of his free time doodling up something swiftly or making an extravagant drawing that could rival all of the art students in the school. Suffice to say, if you want a virtuoso of sorts to create something beautiful, just hit Daichi up... just don't expect him to join up with other creative architects anytime soon as it is just a hobby to him.

Made it up: Suffice to say, when it comes to makeup between the twins, Daichi is the superior of the two. He is usually the guy who ends up doing his sisters make-up since she virtually has no skills in any sort of art. Either way, want to look nice for a cute boy you met? Talk with Daichi. Want to cross-dress and cause disarray among guys? He'll join you because it will be hilarious...

Wait, that was supposed to hurt?: Delinquents always pick on nerds or geeks, right? Well, that is the stereotype, but what if the person they were picking on was difficult to take down? Meet the intelligent guy who isn't one to be decimated by one or two punches from these bullies nor will he hesitate in defending himself.

So you like them, correct?: Assessment is a key factor for him, and the reason he is so successful and isn't a failure due to his less than desirable behavior. When it comes to body language, he can figure out a person and how they're feeling, or when it comes to whatever he is studying, he does a close reading then something clicks in his head. Either way, he can't assess a few things, but that is usually overlooked by peers.

Other:
Some Flaws... cuz wynaut?!~

Er, apologies: When it comes to life, life hits Daichi hard with a bunch of random, inordinate actions... which means he is a huge klutz. Yes, the proud, hardworking student that traverses the halls can be bested by a slim dent, or just anything in general that can cause him to tip over. If you want to tease Daichi or attempt to put him in his "place," mentioning this tidbit is a great place to start.

Ugh, do I have to?: Hard work hardly works as this student is very, very, very lax and just lazy in general. Want something done immediately? Give him thirty to forty-five minutes to get off his ass and start on it. Even with these antics, he does impeccable work and is reliable in this sense... if you're an extremely patient person.

WHYAREYOUSOGODDAMNDISORGANIZED?!: Yeah, lets just say Daichi harbors a dislike for unorganized people within a group. Within the chaos is order, and you do not want to let Daichi be that order as he will rummage through your bag if he finds out that you do not have any sort of skills that allow you to place everything in a nice, quaint, precise arrangement.

Such a beautiful hue...: In a nutshell, he just loves flowers, mainly blue roses in retrospect. He doesn't know why, but Daichi just finds them so enchanting. Give one to him, and he will be smitten... sort of. He isn't that easy of a guy (or girl when dressing up as one). Either way, expect him to (maybe) pick up the idiot ball with these.

Aaaaaanyways, enough with flaws.

Arata Hisakawa

”That. Sounds. AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

Name: Arata Hisakawa

Gender: Male

Age: 16

Personality: Optimistic to a fault, Hisakawa tends to walk a fine line between brightening people’s days, and driving them to near homicidal levels of irritation. In general, he can be a pretty annoying individual, his boundless energy, fascination with everything, and thirst for new experiences mean that talking to him can make for an outright exhausting encounter. He isn’t just a bundle of cheer though, once you get past the initial onslaught of “EVERYTHING IS FANTASTIC LET’S GO RUN A MARATHON!”, he can prove to be a loyal and trustworthy friend, who’s generally willing to listen regardless of whether he fully understands the situation or not.

He tends to veer towards a more spontaneous approach to solving problems, as opposed to thought out methodical approaches as he doesn’t have much patience. He can’t stand being alone, and he hates sitting still for long periods of time (unless he’s working on a complex maths problem, but more on that later), and he’s never finished an entire novel that wasn’t compulsory reading for school.

If he’s having a bad day, he can become very shy and finds it difficult to talk to people. It scares him when this happens (for reasons which will also be explained later), but he’s very determined, and will generally come back the next day ready to tackle whatever problem had him down head on. He lives his life by the motto- ”Sure, you can knock me down, but there’s nothing you can do to stop me from getting right back up again”

Although he’s determined when it comes to random disasters, he can be a bit of a pushover when it comes to actual human beings. His eagerness to try and make sure that everyone around him feels just as awesome as he does leads to him being easily manipulated by people with more domineering personalities, not that he really minds of course, as long as they’re happy, he’s at least partially happy.

History: As a child, Hisakawa was completely different to the person he is today. He was shy and introverted, and really struggled to make friends. His predisposition towards both panic attacks and bouts of depression meant that his parents worried about him constantly, to the point where they decided to pull him out of the public education system and home-school him.

As he got older, his problems worsened, and by the time he was thirteen he had severe social anxiety disorder, agoraphobia, and almost daily panic attacks. Life was unbearable, not just for Hisakawa, but for his parents too. If his aunt hadn’t intervened, the outcome probably would’ve been a lot worse, but luckily, she did. She only visited the family once every couple of years due to the fact that she lived in New Zealand, but when she saw her nephew hiding in a corner, unable to speak to anyone or leave his room, she demanded his mother take him to the doctor’s at once.

After that, it was an uphill battle, but at least he wasn’t going down anymore. Over the course of three years, five different psychiatrists, a dozen different medications, and a total of six months spent on a psychiatric ward (not all at once), he slowly but surely started to leave his anxieties behind him.

Filled with a renewed vigour, Hisakawa feels like he has a lot of living to do if he wants to make up for all the years he lost crippled by anxiety. It was difficult to convince his parents to let him go back into public education, but he did it, and so far has loved every second spent at Yurei High, even though he’s only been there a few weeks. He’s looking forward to joining the occult club, and the art club, and the tea ceremony club, and the advanced quantum physics club, and the…..

Skills:
Smiling!- Yes, he sees smiling as a skill, and he practices it every day, which can be uplifting, annoying, fairly disconcerting, or anywhere in between depending on the individual and the situation.

Colouring in- He takes great pride in his ability to colour inside the lines, and has improved this ability since the last time he was in a class full of other students. He is a touch confused about why this vitally important skill is no longer taught in lessons.

Advanced Mathematics, especially when applied in areas like mechanics - His abilities in maths and physics have baffled his parents since his second birthday, when he first asked his parents ‘what happens when you divide by zero?’. They can’t quite figure out where he got this ability from, seeing as they’re both florists, but they do know it comes in quite handy when they’re working out things like budgets.

Other:
-He still sees a psychiatrist every two weeks, and takes a very low dose of an antidepressant called Nardil, which means he can’t eat smoked or aged meat (he stays away from meat altogether), cheese, large amounts of chocolate or caffeine, and a variety of other things. He also has a list of medications he can’t have, which he keeps in his pocket in case of an emergency. His dosage is currently being reduced under medical supervision, and he eagerly awaits the day he can eat ridiculous amounts of chocolate again.

Age: 17

Appearance: Makoto stands at about 5' 4" and weighs just barely 100lbs. She has a thin build, there's no fat on her, but there's no muscle either. She has chocolate brown hair and matching eyes. Her skin is fair in color and mostly unblemished. Save for a few scars littering her body, including one right below her left eye, which is very noticeable. She likes wearing clothes that are comfortable and easy to move in, and doesn't have time for fancy things like makeup.

Personality: If someone were to ask you to describe Makoto in one word, you'd probably say unpredictable. She's bold, brave, and not afraid to stand up for what she thinks is right. She's stubborn, determined, and ready to do whatever she needs to. She doesn't let things like wearing skirts stop her from kicking people in the face, or the fact that she's in a towel stop her from chasing the school pervert through the hallways. Her motto is cry later. She gets things done and doesn't think about the little details. She simply does what she needs to and doesn't let anything get in her way of doing it.

She's definitely a hothead, and more than a little reckless. A big risk taker who isn't afraid of pain. And most certainly more brawn than brain. But a hard worker, who won't let you down. She may barely scrape by in school, but she still puts her all into everything, even if she doesn't like it. She's more than a little protective of people, especially those who can't stand up for themselves. Earning her nicknames such as Captain America, and Protector of the Nerds. She's outgoing and loud mouthed, and also not afraid to speak her mind. Unless you really what her opinion on something, don't ask her about it.

History: Though born in Japan, Makoto's family moved to America shortly after she was born. And there she spent her life until the summer before high school. She was always one of, if not the, smallest people in her classes, and got picked on a lot. At first she was too scared to fight back, but quickly realized that it wasn't going to stop unless she stopped it. But that was only after her first concussion scrambled her brain a little bit. She really never was quite the same after that, and was better for it. A few busted noses and bruised knuckles later and the bullies got the hint. Every since then Makoto's been protecting people, because she knew what it was like to be in their shoes. She became known as Captain America because of her similarities to the character, a nickname that would follow her back to Japan.

As I mentioned before, in the summer between middle school and high school, her family decided to move back to Japan. The culture shock was a bit of a struggle for her, despite the fact that her family did try and stay as traditional as possible. High school was pretty much the same as middle school had been, but with more perverts. The bullying started over again, but was quickly shut down with her fighting back once again. One day she chased a pervert out of the girl's locker room wearing nothing but a towel. After which people started calling her a slut, the rumors of which she shut down by announcing to the entire school that she was still a virgin. Of course they didn't believe her, but she didn't care, she had done her part.

Makoto had never cared that much about the supernatural and the occult and all that stuff, until the day of her grandmother's funeral. Her grandmother's ghost left her a message, which led her to the discovery of a gift that had been left for her. The gift was a box that Makoto wasn't supposed to open until her eighteenth birthday. Since her grandmother hadn't lived to see it, she must have still wanted to give it to her. Makoto joined Occult club shortly after that, wanting to find out if she could see more ghosts, or if it was just a one time family thing.

Skills:

Personality: Yurika is a girl with lots of energy for silly antics and shanenigans. She thirsts for adventure and wishes to do or find something interesting every day. If she failed to do so, she would do something to make it interesting with a mixed results. Always in a happy mood, Yurika is extremely passionate when it comes to her interests and hobbies which include watching superhero shows, anime and finding out new things. She is not afraid of people’s opinions as she loves what she likes doing and endures their unpleasant comments with a big smile. This only leads her to having no ‘real’ friends.

When she does make friends, she would become very protective of them. If anybody ever tease or hurt them, she would defend them even if they did not require it. She cherishes friendships with ‘kindred souls’ such as herself. Yurika is a bad liar and she hates lies unless it is necessary. She is an airhead most of the time but she is NOT stupid and can be very sharp sometimes. She can roughly guess when someone has a problem and she would always be there to help her friends in need…she tries even if she was not much help to begin with.

Yurika stops smiling when she is very serious. When she is serious, it is never a good thing as she sees it as a hassle to think and talk too much about certain matters. She rarely gets angry but when she does, it usually ends with a brawl and her being ashamed afterwards. Yurika still gets annoyed though but she usually still has a smile on her face which ups the scary (and comedic) factor.

History: Yurika was born to a well-off family and had quite a normal childhood. Her father was a salaryman and her mother was a housewife. She had an older brother who was five years older than her. It was her brother who usually brought her to do various outdoor activities and some which her parents would not allow if they knew. Yurika’s hobbies and interests were influenced by her brother and his friends whom she would hang out with since she finds them more fun than her own schoolmates.

Everything changed when her brother died in a car accident when Yurika was ten. Her parents thought they could groom her to be the perfect daughter after their son was gone but they were wrong. Yurika refused to change however she slowly lost contact with her brother’s friends who had changed and grew distant. With her schoolmates not willing to befriend her again, Yurika decided to just enjoy what she likes to do. However after years of hidden anger and resentment for being left out, Yurika would snap really badly if she was ever pushed to her breaking point.

It happened during her final year of middle school and she was suspended which led to her being one year behind in her studies. She vowed to never lose her temper again and went back to her usual self-till the present. Her parents died during her first year of highschool and one of her uncles became her legal guardian who allowed her to live alone in an apartment after selling her house. She works during the weekends as a shop assistant at a game shop not too far from the school.

She decided to join the occult club out of her own accord as she finds it the most interesting thing at the school for the moment. Furthermore, she heard rumours about the club president and felt it would certainly be a riot and exciting experience.

2)Acting: Yurika is quite an actress and uses it to lighten up the mood or just to have fun. Another use is when she tries to be brave when in the dark to ease her friends who are afraid.
3)Athletic: Being doing outdoor activities a lot since childhood, Yurika’s physical condition is that of one engaged in regular exercise. She is very confident in her leg prowess and body durability.
4)General Knowledge: She may hate thinking about stuff and finds school boring but she likes to read about random stuff which can go from serious stuff like world peace to idiocy like can pigs really fly.
5)Jack-of-All-Trades: Paired with 4), Yurika knows to do a bit of most basic skills. A BIT. MOST BASIC.

Personality: Compared to those of other children her age, Kuroko's reality is hard, cold, and utterly unshakable. Her stubborn nature and strong determination to be correct have driven her to become completely disillusioned with the world, to the point where she no longer just "doesn't believe in Santa" and instead "actively goes out of her way to tell children Santa isn't real". She is past the point of no return, and can only truly feel satisfaction when she is proven right, and when she can watch as somebody else falls into despair over the truth of this world.

Outside of this maliciousness, however, Kuroko can in many ways be called an "ordinary little girl". She likes many ordinary girl things, has friends, goes to the corner store to swindle sweets from the kindly old shop owner. Basic stuff. She's probably a little mature for her age, and her sense of humour definitely needs some work, but all in all she is able to give off the image of a perfectly happy, albeit a little difficult, girl.

She really, really hates the occult.

History: Kuroko grew up as a relatively normal girl, her mother was a young woman who was working towards becoming a teacher, and her father was an earnest, mildly incompetent salaryman with no real defining characteristics besides "he does his best!" Ever since she was young, Kuroko wholeheartedly believed in all things fantastical. Whether it was a child's story, or the existence of omnipotent deities that determine the fate of the universe with their magic wands, nothing was too absurd for her to insist it was the truth.

That was, until one fateful Christmas Eve.

After her parents sent her to bed, Kuroko secretly stayed awake, waiting for her mom to go to sleep so she could pull off her master plan. Once the lights went out, she snuck out of bed, and went downstairs to the tree, intent on waiting there so she could say hi to Santa and thank him for all of the awesome presents.

But it was wrong. It was all wrong. Wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong.

Santa isn't real. She was just stupid. Wrong wrong wrong.

Her mother works at one of the local High Schools, now. Kuroko likes to visit her, because her school is close by. On the way in, one day, she noticed a poster for an "Occult" club. So, she decided to check it out.

Because ghosts aren't real. Kihihihihi~

Skills:

Fantasy Killer: An occult-oriented skill for "stomping on children's sandcastles", which signifies a certain mental landscape that rejects the falsities of this world and replaces them with the harsh, unchangeable truth. The strength is high enough to "make little kids cry", but it has not yet reached the level where it could be called anything but annoying.

Puzzle Solving: As a part of the natural intellectual progression of a young girl who kind-of likes puzzles, Kuroko has solved a lot of puzzles. These skills translate into an ability to solve puzzles, reference puzzle-related material, and generally act like a self-important shit in times where puzzles are the answer.

Reads Books: She reads a lot of books, so she's got the smarts. What kind of smarts? The not-useful kind, and also the kind one gets for trying to solve mystery novels. Does this actually translate into anything useful? Probably not. She does know a lot of trivia as a result, though.

Name: Octavia King

Gender: Female

Age: 15

Appearance: Octavia has the fair porcelain skin, gleaming blue eyes, and spectacular blonde hair that comes to mind when imagining an ideal foreigner. She is slim and somewhat tall for her age at 5’6”, and only wears the most beautiful, expensive, and detailed dresses she can find when not in school. Her naturally wavy, long hair reaches about halfway down her back, and she often adorns it with ribbons and other ornaments.

Personality: Octavia has had quite the sheltered upbringing, and thus tends to conduct herself with a degree of naivety uncommon in girls who are 15 years of age. Although she used to be kind and sweet thanks to her good-natured father bringing her up, Octavia has recently become somewhat jaded and withdrawn. Her kindness and sweetness are still there, but those traits have become muddled in a mire of cynicism after having spent so long watching people trip over themselves to appease her, as if they were animals performing tricks. She lives in a boring world without conflict, problems, or criticism, which is only exacerbated by her own physical and mental excellence.

History: Octavia was raised mostly by her father, as her mother passed away when she was very young. Her father, Richard, was depressed for a while afterwards, but he put on a handsome smile every time Octavia walked into the room. He knew that she deserved kind and loving parenting, and that was what she got. Perhaps it was a bit too kind and loving, however, because Octavia never wanted for anything. If she needed something done, there were people to do it. If she wanted something in a store, it was hers. Richard was the CEO of King Communications (an American cell phone network that merged with a Japanese network to become among the most popular providers in the nation) and her mother Ida was the head designer of the insanely-big-in-Japan clothing brand Kleidungekauft (From which they still receive money even after her passing). Thus, Octavia never really had to worry about anything but school work, which was easy for her because she was naturally smart and athletic. She had friends, too, until the end of middle school. When she entered a private high school, she lost all contact with her middle school friends who, as she had found out after some blunt messages, only really hung out with her because their parents told them to. When it became clear that her father wasn’t giving out bags of money to people who befriended his daughter, they just stopped being her friend. Devastated, Octavia withdrew from the private school and society and shut herself inside her home for a long while. Due to its strict attendance policy, she was kicked out of the private high school and forced into a public school which her father pushed her to try. He’d also told her to try joining a club so that she could make some new friends, as if it was just that easy. Well Octavia knew how people were now, and she didn’t want in on any of this fake friendship business. She cared deeply for her father, however, and for him she supposed she could at the very least join a club to make him happy.

Skills:

#1 in the School: Octavia is incredibly smart, and can pick up just about any subject quickly. She’s always been the #1 test-taker for a reason, and knows just about everything from the main high school curriculum. Due to her upbringing, however, this generally doesn’t leak over into any practical skills whatsoever. She can solve for X, but her cooking skills are awful and she can’t operate a washing machine.

Ojou-sama's Self-Defense: When it comes to self-defense training, Octavia has been taught by the best of the best. The daughter of an insanely rich and powerful man needs to know how to defend herself, after all. She doesn’t like the idea of fighting, though, and will avoid doing so at all costs.

Athletic: Well of course she’s athletic. Maybe not the first in the school, but she’s quite good at just about any athletic feat she tries her hand at. Self-defense doesn’t mean much when you don’t have the athletic ability to apply it well, so working out with a trainer is just a part of her average day. She is oddly terrible at sports, however, because they require the knowledge of rules and techniques that she has no interest in.

Money: All of it.

Guns: Some of her favorite outings with daddy were to the shooting range. She is American, after all, and thus needs practice with guns of all sorts. Not that she’ll ever get any use out of this skill other than stress relief, right?

Horseback Riding: Side saddle. A gigantic white stallion named John is her father’s preferred transport, so she’s learned to ride a horse quite well.

Languages: She speaks both English and Japanese fluently. Her mother was German, but she passed away before Octavia learned any.

Appearance:
At six foot five (199cm), Elijah practically dwarves his father, who is a good seven inches shorter. While he does have a rather slim look to him, years of sports and healthy eating have laid a muscular foundation to the guy’s body. And years of puberty have left the dreaded mark of terrible teenage facial hair upon the lad’s chin and upper lip. Eli’s pretty diligent about keeping himself shaved but...well hey, sometimes a day or two gets past him. Oh well.

He has a pretty consistent style, really. It’s pretty rare to see Eli without his green-tinted silver framed glasses and that low, wild afro. He could switch things up but...why bother with it? If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

As far as his clothes go when given a choice, Eli usually defaults to a green jacket or hoodie and a pair of khakis or jeans. But does have to wash his clothes eventually…Good thing he has more than one green jacket, eh? If it is too warm, or if he’s going to be playing some ball, a gray t-shirt and green shorts are his go-to choice. Or whatever is clean. Let’s be honest, he’s not too picky, really.

Personality:

Live-and-let-live. If anything could be called the definitive characteristic of Eli’s personality, it would be that. Live-and-let-live. To the young Hughes man, open-mindedness is key to happy life. The world’s a big place filled with billions upon billions of people. How arrogant would he have to be to truly think that he was in any position to say what others should or shouldn’t do? So long as his values and beliefs are not being infringed upon, Eli takes a hands-off approach to things. Besides, it pays to be flexible. One never knows when one might learn something new from even complete strangers.

Call it innocence, idealism, or just downright naivety, but Eli truly does believe that all people are good in their core. That’s not to say that good people couldn’t still do terrible things, but there must always be a reason behind such actions. To understand that is to come closer to truly understanding the person, to perhaps make changes to avoid such awful occurrences from repeating themselves down the line. Unfortunately, the world has shown that more often than not, even that is not enough to prevent the atrocities. Eli constantly finds himself disappointed due to this. Disappointed in the world, in others, even in himself. Especially in himself.

A sense of pride in hard work was instilled in Eli by his father. When given a task, his job is to complete it, and Eli knows well that he will. The job must be completed. And should it be something that interests him, well, the lad is likely to pour his entire being into seeing its completion. It’s not uncommon for him to even neglect his own needs, often finding himself particularly starved or exhausted after the energetic “high” that comes from working a long project wears off eventually.

Eli is certainly capable with pretty comfortably chatting with just about anybody, but it’s not likely that he’d volunteer any personal tidbits all willy-nilly. He’s more of a private guy. While he’d be more than willing to lend an ear to just about anybody, and would happily take their secrets to the grave, being on the other end of that just isn’t all that appealing to him. Some of that can be accredited to the guy’s sensitivity. Certainly he’d never scream it from the rooftops, but Eli is rather self-conscious over just about everything. And criticism, regardless of its intent, feels more like a personal attack than any sort of self-improvement tool. But all of those negative vibes just go into the bottle and are never seen again.

Long story short, the world and it’s inhabitants are pretty great things, but sometimes shitty things happen. When they do, Eli listens, then Eli acts. He’ll fix the world or die trying, just don’t ask how. Details kind of suck.

Elijah Chase Hughes isn’t exactly in any races for the most interesting man award. Quite frankly, he lived a pretty average life. Born the first child of Patricia and Henry in southern Ohio, a couple of moderate means living in a moderate home in a moderate neighborhood. Pat was a schoolteacher while Henry was just chasing wages at a nearby factory, though he did seem to be on the fast-track to management. As such, Eli never really wanted for much. Sure, it would have been nice to have that actual tiger from the zoo, or his own rocketship, or even just every toy that ever appeared on television, but somehow the boy survived. Nearly six years after Eli rolled out, Pat and Henry had another child and Eli had gained a sister. Emily. It seemed like the Hughs were well on their way of achieving that American dream of having the 2.5 children, a house with a white picket fence, and a perfect dog.

But sometimes life just likes to throw some curveballs.

Skip about ten years here, and we see Henry Hughs being offered that job he’d been chasing for so long. The only catch? He’d be leaving the country. There was a plant in Japan that had the opening. And it wasn’t like he could just up and refuse after chasing for so long, not if he ever hoped to continue his career. So he accepted the offer and left for Japan two weeks later. The plan was that he would get settled, then the rest of the family would join him after the semester ended. The kids were pretty much ready to go immediately, but Pat wanted to wait. She wanted at the very least to let Eli finish the basketball season. Basketball wasn’t exactly Eli’s favorite thing in the world, he much preferred reading, but it made his Ma happy, so it was worth it. It helped that he was actually surprisingly good at it.

So, maybe it wouldn’t exactly be the AMERICAN dream, but it still worked. They’d easily be able to afford a decent house on his new salary. The family pet, a rather devious little corgi that went by Duke, was pretty much all they could have ever wanted in man’s best friend. And Pat even had a surprise ready for Henry. She was pregnant. Eli and Emily had already heard the news, and were ecstatic.

Pat would never get to tell Henry about the newest addition to their family.
In a terrible car accident one night caused by a drunk texting rather lewd photos of himself whilst driving, Pat’s car was hit head-on. She hadn’t had her belt buckled and was launched through the windshield. She died instantly.

Henry returned to the states for his late wife’s funeral, and shortly after, the now broken family boarded a plane to Japan. practically on the other side of the planet. It felt as if they were simply running away from the harsh reality.

They managed to get through it, however. They managed to survive. It affected each of them, but life moves on, no matter what. Eli found that the culture shock helped keep him distracted from his mother’s passing, but he did have a hell of a time trying to learn the language. His sister, on the other hand, was a natural. Go figure.

Skip forward just a bit and we have Eli Hughs in his last year of Yurei High. With mediocre grades, it didn’t exactly seem like higher education was in his future. Really, he was just coasting to graduation. After that, it seemed likely that he would be able to get on at his father’s plant. It wasn’t exactly what he wanted to do, but not even Eli knew what he wanted at this point. This route was just as good as any, no?

For now, he had decided to just do enough to graduate, while focusing more on his basketball endeavours. He didn’t exactly want to do that either, but well, it was one of the last connections to his mother that he had. To turn his back on the sport would be like turning his back on Ma herself. No, he’d finish up this last year, then he could spend the rest of his life doing whatever. Besides, they were actually looking pretty great this year. If they could win big his final year, well...that’d be a bonus.

…

At least, that was the plan. Then along came Occult Club. Eli wasn’t exactly a believer in the supernatural (though neither was he against the possibility), but he did see it as a decent opportunity to pursue a side hobby - writing. Truth be known, Eli loved to write, though he likely wouldn’t be quick on sharing it anyway. He figured it would be a good chance to collect inspiration for any potential horror stories he may attempt in the future. Besides, it could actually be fun, and if nothing else, it would lead him to meeting more people than just his dorks in the basketball club. And if they just so happened to be chicks, well...that’d be a bigger bonus.

Also a bonus: trying to time find to manage his new time commitment to his clubs, his schooling, and making sure Emily didn’t burn the house down.

Oh well. Might as well go with the flow.
