[OOC] FRAMEs (Mech combat, political intrigue & corporate struggles)

Mechwarrior online has some nice designs, I think. I don't know any of the names or anything, but if anyone wanted to be a primarily a missile mech, they could go with that one MWO mech that has the two massive missile pods on the side and pretty much nothing else.

You would happen to mean Catapult(C4)(Sarna). I'm not too sure how the styles would blend but it just could be different manufacturers style.
If catapult looks nice, other mech from the same universe one might consider is Bowman (Sarna).

The ones from jovian Chronicle blend well with HG as it's the same style.

Well, when its about the size and weight, we are already changing them on Wanzers so I don't think that would be the problem.

I also started to wonder, if HG has a role in the base will we see striders or equivalents? (as in Damocles, Red bull and Sagittarius)

Not that I'm expecting players to get those (at least not solo)

Catapult looks like it'd be better than Sagittarius, if a little more exposed on the weaponry, and not as versatile (all rockets/missiles, instead of some missile/rockets and a turret or something)

Paloka Industries is a state-owned defense company based in the OSU. Nearly everything in the country is state-owned; very socialist (hence "Osbanian Socialist Union!"). That's why we're going up against OSU Dreq FRAMEs.

Realistically, Dreqs would likely be substandard compared to our own.

Simply put, when you're building things to be as efficient and compare way better to your competitors, it's probably gonna be better than the people who are designing things under orders.

However, we should also keep in mind that most FRAMEs we're using are secondhand and refurbished, while the Dreqs are in use by professional military personnel. They are pretty cheap, in terms of cost, but there are plenty of reasons why the OSU use it as their general-purpose FRAME!
Competition within the OSU is next to nonexistent - with the state controlling the businesses, they can pick and choose who will manufacture what and work with their suppliers to get the best bang for their buck.

Competition on the international level is another story, though...

What about aluminum alloys?
A lighter, maybe not quite as strong as steel metal that's more expensive, but you can bulk up a bit more with it to be more maneuverable and even more protected than before?
Probably gonna be over three times as expensive tho XD
