What about aluminum alloys?
A lighter, maybe not quite as strong as steel metal that's more expensive, but you can bulk up a bit more with it to be more maneuverable and even more protected than before?
Probably gonna be over three times as expensive tho XD

It really depends on what FRAME you've got; the "durasteel" our Zarugas and Handous have is a steel laminate armor, with aluminum plates sandwiched in-between. FRAMEs will have different compositions based on manufacturer and role.

I also started to wonder, if HG has a role in the base will we see striders or equivalents? (as in Damocles, Red bull and Sagittarius)

Not that I'm expecting players to get those (at least not solo)

1. It's a definite possibility - maybe not exactly the same vein as AC, but large 'super-FRAMEs,' landships, satellite systems, etc. might come into play down the road.

Oh. So that's what it is.

600,000-221,590-30,000-21,000-12,000-1,000= 314,410 credits left
55-20-24-8-2=1 weight left

Sigh.... I've probably broken a few golden rules here but feel free to chastise. I need the advise. Been a long ass time. Anything glaringly wrong?

@DarkStar
Sorry, this is a no-go as is; Dreqs haven't been made available to us (...yet...). See the first post of the OOC for FRAMEs, equipment, etc. that you can purchase at the start. Each player gets 600,000c to buy from this list. Your options will expand over the course of the RP, as I add more things to it so you can splurge your hard-earned money and feel good about yourselves.
Do you understand how the weight/power system works?

I'd recommend (re-)reading all the hiders of the first OOC post and skimming over questions others have asked to get a better idea of how the systems work.

Can I ask for some clarification on Sarah's backstory? What does her father do/did and where did he work? It's totally cool to come up with new corporations for the setting, so long as they can fit. What sort of 'testing' did he do? & how did Sarah join the Panthers?

My bad. I was running with the idea presented to me by one of the others. I was just working on that concept. I forgot to ask about that. I was thinking since I was late to the team anywho it would be a nice way of working myself in. Being a Pakora security guard her mech can quite easily be trashed and dialogue started. :p. SO It's ok to come up with corporations? I was again unsure as you seemed to want to take the path of brutal communism with no private interests. I originally had written that the company was founded quite the few generations ago and that at some point in it's history it was "Hositlly" taken over a couple of well placed bullets and greasy palms, leaving the founding families out of it, by the time her father comes along he is simply a high level researcher with little/no control of the company. I was going to be in a different country too, hence why there is the vaugeness I was going to call the company, Duncan, Halliday and Duncan Inc who specialize in fiddly bits. Highly too spec requests in the fields of mechanical aspects of FRAMES, with interests in many many pies such as Cybernetics and weaponry. By testing I remember you said that brains were something few people messed with. I thought it funny if she was one of those souls who showed that it wasn't kosher to go there yet xD. Not bringing any perks with it mind, maybe just things like Toughened skin and the likes. My apologies for asking like this, brain is pretty frazzled TBH. If not all is easily changed. I thought I understood it. Weight was arbitrary based on the kind of mech you use and is filled according to the weight values in your weapons list, However I might be entirely wrong. The mech description was a mere placeholder as I didn't know exactly what you might want it to be in the scenario it was ok for her to turncoat. Hell I don't much care if it's destroyed and a new one has to be bought. As I said, just about fluid entry. No, "Oh yeah, I was late to the party and know everything I have to do xD", It would also account for lack of knowledge about the roleplay that has already been. As she wouldn't have been able to know the information.

I approve of this but as you probably won't get to the team on this mission so you could just tie yourself to run into the panthers anyway without necessarily needing to turncoat. I'm not one to say how one would really "just run into" panthers but it won't really change anything but the way you are introduced and possibly the Background.

I'm not here to say you can't do what you have done or such but just my 2 cents.

TL:DR
I like the idea of fluid entry but it won't change many things the way it's done.

Edit: Fixed the quote (how could I mess that up?)

@DarkStarThe problem with this scenario is the Dreq pilots we're scrapping with are members of the OSU military; professional soldiers. Very few of them, in their right mind, would deliberately surrender themselves to a mercenary company; especially one under contract from a corporation based in the nation they're in conflict with. For all they know, we'd be just as likely to kill them outright than to haul them off to the SL. And since they're military personnel, they can't up and leave the service and sign on with a company; it doesn't work that way. I guess if they tried, the OSU would just track their FRAMEs down and then we'd have the military breathing down our necks.

If you still want to go with an OSU angle, you could be a former soldier or employee who left before the start of the RP to join the Panthers - either a late-arrival trainee or a standing Panther member coming back from some personal leave.

Name: Marlene Abdelkadar
Age: 19
Gender: Female

Disposition: Sly, intolerably persistent, very emotionally invested and motivated.

Background: Hailing from war-torn USK/PU borderlands, unlike Leclerc, her unit was issued with second-hand FRAMES after the PU was already well-equipped to deal with the threat. Constant supply-problems and frequent breakdowns from skating across sand-dunes meant her squad operated under-strength in guerilla-warfare, often the pilots functioned as light infantry while the few remaining FRAMES provided much-needed fire-support to their guerrilla campaign.

On more than one occasion, civilian-FRAMES were pressed into service either just to keep a few more frames running, or retained simply because their smaller size was better suited to the sort of operations they conducted.

When the war ended, their independence secured, there was a massive draw-down and disarmament of their forces as USK focused its resources on rebuilding and caring for their people, an act that quickly highlighted the difference between the PU and USK. Marlene's unit was one of the first to be scrapped, handing in many of their converted FRAMES for economic development, while nearly all their best FRAMES ended up being conglomerated into a single centralized unit.

Angered by her new vestigial purpose in the military, sitting behind a desk, she quit and purchased a surplus FRAME and hit the mercenary-market.

Inventory:
-AKSN-75U "Tanker's Krinkov" with infra-red scope and IR laser-sight/illuminator plus a 75 round drum because if she gets into a firefight out of her FRAME, it won't last long enough for her to get a chance to reload.

Funds: 312,410c

@FosterI'm not sure if it's I who is missing something simple but I believe none of your frame's weapons match the (currently) available weapons so you would want to fix it so it uses only those weapons (maybe even wait till post-mission for more expansive selection).
It's not my place to tell you what you do but just a heads up if you haven't specially agreed to this with @Aristo.
Otherwise, I welcome you to the Panthers on my behalf (if you make the cut) If I'm not mistaken that would make this RP full until further notice.

It's break time! Sorry for cutting the combat short, if you still planned to partake. I thought I'd move us along, since we might be taking on new players and out of concern the op might drag on longer than necessary.
We're now in the fabulous city of Hamarr, equal parts steel and neon. I'll add some new gear y'all can go wild on very soon. All the purchasing is done here in the OOC, for convenience. We can assume in-between IC posts, your characters are exploring like kids in candy stores. I've got another FRAME scenario ready to go after our little intermission and some R&R!

Feel free to make up some NPC interaction; give some names and personality to the Samigina's crew. You'll be working with the mechanics quite a bit, after all. We can assume they're tinkering with your machines while you're out, too (if you choose to go out).

@FosterWindicator's right; you'll have to select from the list that is available on the first page of the OOC. Seeing as I'm in the process of adding new gear to represent the goods Hamarr's got to offer, you might consider holding off your FRAME sheet until the lists are updated.

Otherwise, I'm happy to have Marlene tag along! Will she be a new addition or a Panther returning from leave?

AU8 Avenger that can be bought and slowly repurposed?
Remote drone controls?
Drone launchers?
Drones?
3-D holographic mapping (this would have to be heavy on CPU and weight, otherwise EVERYONE could have it and that'd defeat the purpose of a combat controller... >.>)?

Oooooooh, 30mm Phalanx CIWS gun, modified for mech use?

I'll look at the wares and posting at IC tomorrow, I shouldn't really half-ass it. (still waiting for them striders, have to stock up on heavy weaponry.)
On side note, are we to buy our own ammunition, is it provided by panthers or is it for all intents and purposes "infinite" as long as we "respect" it?

Ammunition can be handwaved. The Samigina has plenty of stock to replace rounds here and there, and we can assume the weapons themselves are bought with it. I was thinking of having more decisive, tech-heavy weapons, like missiles, needing to be bought, but it would be easier on everyone not to worry about replenishing them. You can always re-purchase weapons that are destroyed, lost, used up IC if you really want to, but I honestly won't be scrutinizing sheets if you don't.

Likely a newcomer, due to how recent the Kamdeshi revolution has been.
-It is being implied that Marlene has seen combat in the last three years of that war; not as experienced as Leclerc, though.

As for weapons, I'll wait. Was hoping for a small autocannon and a large autoloading tank-gun (literally ripped the specs off an AMX-13's turret). The rocket-pack was likewise, the tubes from a BM-21-1 ripped right off the truck and bolted onto the FRAME.
