Your eyes begin to grow heavy, slowly closing until all you see is darkness, quietly drifting off to sleep like any other normal night. However tonight is different, for the dream that comes to visit you, is not one you ever recall having. It seems so real and yet your vision is blurred and your awareness is heightened, as if you knew fully well that this is not reality, and yet you can feel your heart beat faster and harder. The scene is painted before you of a town square inside castle walls, a crowd merry and intent on their prizes, for it's one of few that parade slaves across a platform like animals for the sell. As one of the women steps on the stage, she becomes crystal clear, and you feel a sense of urgency as if she is in danger and if you don't protect her she will face something terrible.
The scene seems to skip ahead and you see her in chains, upon the floor with cuts and bruises. A man stands over her with a stick, wrapped in spikes, pacing back and forth as she cries her heart out. The dream doesn't last long enough for you to determine if she dies or not, but your heart sinks at the thought of an innocent passing away from such hatred. Suddenly a whisper of a voice enters the fog, clear as the cloudless afternoon, "you cannot let this come to pass, my dear guardian... please, save her, for she is our only hope."And just like that, the dreams ends.
Days Later...
Both Ellie and Amelia arrive at a kingdom on the western plains, a small one, but still within the territory that claims slavery. Somehow they knew the directions to it without any prior knowledge, as if something or someone was leading them to it's walls, urging them to go inside to find the mysterious woman. Surprisingly, the scene that comes to their gaze is exactly like the dream, with a crowd that is talkative and eager to buy the new stock of slaves, a string of individuals being forced onto the platform in the middle of the square. That's when they spot her, a commoner woman with fair skin, blue eyes, and stunning golden hair which somehow makes her stand out against the other potential slaves.
Quickly, the bidding begins, the fiercest being for the mystery woman, as everyone else sees the value in her unique and beautiful look as well. Most of them are too caught up in the moment, but a couple cast odds glances to Ellie, her great height making her stand out. A man who looks more like a butcher than any sort of noble seems to be winning, and looks very familiar to both women, sending shivers down the spine. It seems they both have a chance to stop what's about to happen next - the woman's beating and possible death. What will they do?
