Your eyes begin to grow heavy, slowly closing until all you see is darkness, quietly drifting off to sleep like any other normal night. However tonight is different, for the dream that comes to visit you, is not one you ever recall having. It seems so real and yet your vision is blurred and your awareness is heightened, as if you knew fully well that this is not reality, and yet you can feel your heart beat faster and harder. The scene is painted before you of a town square inside castle walls, a crowd merry and intent on their prizes, for it's one of few that parade slaves across a platform like animals for the sell. As one of the women steps on the stage, she becomes crystal clear, and you feel a sense of urgency as if she is in danger and if you don't protect her she will face something terrible.

The scene seems to skip ahead and you see her in chains, upon the floor with cuts and bruises. A man stands over her with a stick, wrapped in spikes, pacing back and forth as she cries her heart out. The dream doesn't last long enough for you to determine if she dies or not, but your heart sinks at the thought of an innocent passing away from such hatred. Suddenly a whisper of a voice enters the fog, clear as the cloudless afternoon,
"you cannot let this come to pass, my dear guardian... please, save her, for she is our only hope."And just like that, the dreams ends.

Days Later...

Both Ellie and Amelia arrive at a kingdom on the western plains, a small one, but still within the territory that claims slavery. Somehow they knew the directions to it without any prior knowledge, as if something or someone was leading them to it's walls, urging them to go inside to find the mysterious woman. Surprisingly, the scene that comes to their gaze is exactly like the dream, with a crowd that is talkative and eager to buy the new stock of slaves, a string of individuals being forced onto the platform in the middle of the square. That's when they spot her, a commoner woman with fair skin, blue eyes, and stunning golden hair which somehow makes her stand out against the other potential slaves.

Quickly, the bidding begins, the fiercest being for the mystery woman, as everyone else sees the value in her unique and beautiful look as well. Most of them are too caught up in the moment, but a couple cast odds glances to Ellie, her great height making her stand out. A man who looks more like a butcher than any sort of noble seems to be winning, and looks very familiar to both women, sending shivers down the spine. It seems they both have a chance to stop what's about to happen next - the woman's beating and possible death. What will they do?

“This place disgusts me…” Amelia muttered to herself as she stood in the crowd just before her eyes caught a glimpse of the woman from her dreams and then the man who seemed to be winning the bidding. The mercenary’s eyes narrowed menacingly as she pushed her way through the crowds and towards the front rows. She remembered her dream so clearly and she wasn’t going to let that pig do that to her.

“Hey, who do you think you are pushi…” I man started to protest when Amelia walked like a true warrior by him, pushing him painfully to the side without even slowing her pace. She didn’t even stop to listen to him, but he himself turned quiet when he saw the huge sword on her back and the fact he was barely reaching up to her shoulder. Amelia wasn’t exactly small woman, she was two meters tall, which often made her well above even most men in height. What she did vaguely noticed was that there was another person who stood out in the crowds… like really stood out. She seemed to be taller even than her, but that was not a thing to think about now. She had to safe that girl.

“Anyone wants to pay more!?” The auctioneers shouted, trying to get the people to pay more, but it seemed the pig wasn’t someone people liked to clash with. The bids seemed to have been going in his favor for that.” In that case this beauty goes to…” The auctioneer began saying, before Amelia finally made her way to the front of the crowds and threw in a pouch full of red gems in the man’s feet.” 25 high grade rubies, directly from the dwarven mines.” She said with cold voice, her eyes narrowing. Frankly this was her last payment for dealing with that 'dragon' that was infesting those mines. This was about all the money she had on her and it was a lot. Sadly if this wasn’t enough to screw over that pig of a man, she was going to have to grab the girl and leg it.

Elizabeth hated the slave trade. It was such a stain on the pride of her country. She glanced around at the crowd noting that most of them were either taking cautious glances at her due to her massive height or staring in awe at the beautiful girl who was now for sale. However the fact that she was a Sister of Bulwark made her quite a special 'guest' in the crowd, but it was common for a Sister to interrupt such trades due to their dominating presence and outspoken sense of justice. This 'butcher' wasn't about to lay a finger on this girl.

She began to move toward the platform, the crowd's eyes instantly locking onto her giant figure, her armor clacking as she walked. "I'll be taking her in as a Sister. Should you resist, you will be infringing on military business.. And you know what that means." She stated in a commanding voice, looking down at the auctioneer. A murmur filled the crowd as they listened to the giantess' statement. Ellie caught words like 'unfair' and 'unjust'. She cracked.

She turned the face the crowd, her irritated expression causing the crowd to go silent, "Do you know what's really 'unjust'? Selling these poor women and children to do your bidding. How would you feel if you saw your child or friend up here being sold to a pig like him?" Her voice boomed as she pointed at the butcher noble. "Just because they have no where to go, doesn't mean you treat them like they're objects. If I could, I would take all of these 'slaves' under my custody, but the Sisters only allow one Squire per Knight. But if I find out that you're mistreating these people, you'll have something other than death to fear."

After one last glare at the crowd, she crushed the chains that held the girl from her vision, with her bare hands. She picked up the girl and carried her the same way you would for a princess. Calmly walking out of the crowd. Curses and objections flew around the crowd as she walked away, the auctioneer attempting to calm the crowd down, claiming that there was nothing he could do about it. Truth be told, there really wasn't anything he could do about it, but Ellie knew that she was going to either be commended for her courage or be reprimanded by an official. It didn't matter to her, because she was able to secure the girl of vision. "Sorry about that." She smiled at the girl in her arms to reassure her that she was safe now.

At first, Evelyn's eyes went wide at the sight of Amelia's offer, watching the rubies bounce off of the wooden platform as everyone hushed in silence. It might've worked if it hadn't been the giant that came marching forward. Even the slave woman looked at her with wonder. At her words though, she felt a tense of fear swarm over her, unsure of what she was really hearing. The speech was extremely uncommon in a place like this, making her wonder what had sparked the giant knight to speak so.. nobly. Then suddenly she was being swept up in the knight's arms.

In the distance, the crowd continued in an uproar, and by all real estimates if Ellie took even the slightest pause - the guards could be on her for stealing property - such was the way of slave kingdoms. For the moment though, no one was catching up to her or stopping her, gaining only a few odd glances from people as she walked by. Evelyn however, stared at Ellie with a mixture of awe and fear, unsure of what to feel or think about being swooped up and rescued. Was she really being introduced into some sort of sisterhood or was this a ruse to fall into another slaver's ring?

She quietly swallowed and kept silent for several moments, but she did speak before Amelia had a chance to catch up. "Um..." At first, it was all Evelyn could manage to think of, before biting her lip. She felt strange in this situation because on one hand, she could easily find herself at some other mansion or a slave girl for soldiers, but at the same time the very idea of a female knight coming in to save her was amazingly romantic. "T-thank you.. I.. um.. but I.. don't understand?" She really had nothing else to say at this point, feeling confused and conflicted.

Judging by everyone’s reaction, Amelia was sure she managed to secure the woman, but then something totally unexpected happened. The giant woman she noticed earlier stepped forward and grabbed the girl from her dream and said she is taking custody of her. Which in a way actually solved the problem of having to safe her from the slave fate that was expecting her, but it also irked Amelia a little.

As the giant walked away with the now liberated slave, Amelia quickly jumped on the platform, gathering her rubies as the uproar spread through the crowd. That wasn’t going to end well.” Forgive me honored client, but it seems that girl was taken away.” The auctioneer suddenly walked next to the mercenary with a smile.” Perhaps we can interest you in some other goods?” He asked, waving his hand at other female slaves. I frowned a little before shaking my head.” No, I will have to pass… not interrested in them.” Amelia replied, jumping down from the platform and walking full force into the crowds. She pushed people who stood in her way as if they were nothing on her way after the knight and the smaller blond girl. She wasn’t even completely sure why she must follow herself, but she did so anyway.

“Don’t even think about it.” Amelia suddenly said as she grabbed a hand that was reaching for her bag. It seems thieves wanted to rob her. The man just grinned stupidly and the mercenary just gripped his hand stronger, causing cracks to be heard.” This will teach you to not try something this stupid again. You, out of my way.” She let go of the thief’s now broken hand and pushed another man that was standing in her way away.

It took her a while to make her way completely out of the crowds and by then the knight and the girl were already quite far away. The giant woman had long stride it seemed, didn’t matter. Amelia herself walked quite fast.” Hey, the sister of bulwark! Wait a second!” Amelia called out as she ran after them. The mercenary completely expected that pig of a man to probably send some goons after the girl.

Ellie wasn't too surprised by the girl's reaction. It must be a lot to take in. Being sold as a slave, only to be picked up by a giantess. "This must be quite a shock for you, but don't worry. You'll be safe with me and I'll explain everything when we get to the barracks. She said in response to the girl's confusion. Her long strides had taken them quite some distance away from the auction crowd, which is why she was surprised when a woman's voice called from behind her. It seems that someone caught up with her.

” Hey, the sister of bulwark! Wait a second!” the voice called. Ellie stopped mid-stride, turning to face the woman who had called out, the girl still in her arms. She was quite tall for someone who wasn't a giant. However, Ellie was considered one of the shorter Giants within her clan. She recognized her. It was the woman from the auction who had placed a bid on this girl. Perhaps she wanted to buy the girl off of her? Not a chance. "I'm sorry, but I will not be allow this woman to be bought by anyone." She stated in a stern tone, hoping this woman would back down.

'Safe?' she thought to herself and pursed her lips in thought. If the giantess was really taking her to safety, then why was she chosen? Perhaps simply because she seemed so popular among the bidders that this knight was afraid of what might happen - in truth, Evelyn had been scared herself of what might befall her. In a way, it made sense, but she was no so used to be saved like this. Instead she was used to jealousy and being used and ignored and abandoned. Was this woman really saving her? For once in her life, was she really being cared for? That idea alone was so hard to fully comprehend.

The call of someone else caught her attention too, as she felt the giantess spin around to face the voice. It was the other woman who had spilled jewels onto the platform! Evelyn suddenly felt a pit in her stomach as fear gripped her again, now questioning why the other woman wanted to buy her so bad - was it to save her as well? No, it seemed far more likely she was on business for her lord and saw all the attention Evelyn was getting and felt she needed to buy her before the others did. So she tensed up in Ellie's arms, but didn't feel comfortable enough to snuggle her way into safety - after all she had been forcibly swept up in the knights arms - but she did seem supported in her arms. It was actually amazing how strong the giant knight was, giving Evelyn the opportunity to completely relax if she wanted. In a way, it was almost like sitting in a recliner, only it was the arms of another woman.

“Phew… I feared I may have lost you two before I leave that damned crowd back there.” Amelia said and took a deep breath. She was quite surprised at just how many people were gathered for this slave auction. She had seen other auctions like this, but none had exactly the same insane number of people trying to participate.

“Huh?” The mercenary made a slightly confused sound when the knight stated she wasn’t going to allow the smaller woman be bought by anyone. Did they think Amelia wanted to buy her?’ Ohh yeah I did try to buy her…’ Amelia realized and made a puzzled face, trying to decide how to proceed.” Look, at least hear what I have to say, before trying to accuse me.” Amelia stated with equally stern voice as the knight.

“First of all I tried to buy her because that was the only possible way for me of getting her away to safety without having to kill everyone on that platform… Besides I still doubt they will just let you two go like that now.” The mercenary replied looking at the two.” That pig was quite interested in her, you can bet he will send thugs to try to get her.” Amelia stated and took another deep breath, before looking straight at the woman in the giantess’s arms.” I’m more curious as of why did I dream of you about a week earlier… what is your name? Are you a mage or perhaps a gifted?”

Ellie listened to the woman's intention, but she wasn't about to hand the girl over to her. The words of warning about the pig noble made her smirk slightly, "Challenging a Sister of Bulwark is a mistake." she responded in a confident manner. There weren't many in the whole kingdom who would challenge a Sister, almost all of those challengers were foolhardy, thick headed, misogynistic pigs. You could say she had quite a negative attitude toward men, however justice was impartial, and thus she had to be too.

Ellie was taken aback, She dreamt of this girl as well?, she thought in surprise. Might as well say it out loud. "You had a dream of her as well?" She inquired. Ellie felt bad for suspecting the woman of being like all the others at the auction and she felt that she needed to pay her back somehow. Ellie shook her head at the other woman who stared intently at the girl. "This isn't the place to discuss this right now. We should move to the Sisters barracks, we can talk in private there. Come with me." She stated as she slowly turned away from the tall woman.

Evelyn kept quiet until they arrived at the barracks, taking the knight's suggestion of discussing this when they were safer, though she wasn't entirely sure what they were discussing. Eventually, they came upon the building - though she hadn't been paying attention to where it was or how it looked - and entered, finally being gently put down. All she could do at first is bite her lip and look up at both of them as they kind of stared at her for a few moments - she knew what they must be wondering. She really didn't have any answers and if anything, she had questions for them.

"Um..." she started again with the same meek hesitation as before. "Uh.. I'm.. Evelyn... and before you go asking questions - I don't know!" She ended the sentence with a haste, a panic almost settling into her tone as she held her stomach within her arms. "I-I don't know about any dreams.. I don't know what's going on... I'm just.. me.." She skimmed her eyes across the floor before looking back at them, feeling her body shaking from all the adrenaline. She was in a strange place with strange women who were towering over her five and a half foot form, and they were both talking about dreams like she had to be saved from something. She didn't get it at all. Her life had been turned upside down! She was a servant only a week ago, went into slavery, and now she was here. Evelyn looked shaken.

“Roger that~” Amelia replied as she followed after the knight. The mercenary had since long ago wondered that the inside of the garrisons of the military looked like and she finally got a chance to do so, although under quite the unusual circumstances. While they were walking, Amelia didn't stop keeping an eye out for any traces of being followed. She was sure though that they would better leave this town soon along with that girl and get away. If that pig noble had any connections then he could cause some hell of a problems.

Once they were inside the barracks, Amelia took a look around before replying to the giantess's earlier question.” Yes I did, about a week or so ago. I dreamed about her and I've never seen her before. I just saw her in my dream with that strange voice in the background telling me to haul to this place as fast as possible to avert the second part of that dream including that pig noble.” Amelia explained as she stretched her arms.” I haven't been in this much hurry to get somewhere in a long time. I've was in a neighboring kingdom when I had that dream.” She explained before the girl in question started explaining she had no idea why that was a thing that happened.

“It's okey Evelyn, calm down.” Amelia said, as she fell on a knee so she isn't towering over the girl anymore.” Calm down, we won't do anything to you. Here, drink some water. You must be thirsty, from what I know they barely give people in your situation any water and food.” The mercenary said and took out her waterskin, handing it to Evelyn.” My name is Amelia...” The mercenary threw a glance at the giantess before continuing.” Now, just calmly and slowly think about it, had anything strange ever happened around you?”

It wasn't long until they had reached the barracks. Rather than a Barracks, it seemed more like a manor with a courtyard. The stone walls were tall, almost twice as tall as Ellie. The high stone archway led to a wide, cobbled courtyard had training dummies lined up to one side near a wall, the main building being on the opposite side of the entrance. There were a few giant women talking amongst themselves so Ellie and her companions were able to sneak past without getting caught up in conversation. Moving into the main building, they quickly moved upstairs and into one of the empty rooms of the living quarters. Most of the Sisters and other Knights were out doing their own thing during the lull in conflict.

Ellie gently put the girl down as they entered the room. She listened to the other tall woman, nodding slightly as she spoke. Her eyes moved to the girl she now knew as Evelyn. She exchanged a glance with the woman who introduced herself as Amelia. She had no problems with Amelia, since they seemed to be bound by the same visions. "I remember distinctly that a voice told me to save Evelyn or else she would perish. And that she was 'our only hope'. I'm not sure what that means though. The only odd thing that has been happening is the strange magic readings our scholars are getting.." The knight recalled, not really saying it to anyone specifically, but the last words she spoke were brought down to a mutter at most.

Ellie couldn't really think of a way to calm the girl down, but it seemed that Amelia had the right idea. However, if she were to repeat what the woman had said, the likelihood of Evelyn calming down wasn't.. good. Ellie moved to take a seat on the rather large bed in the chamber, listening to the conversation.

She didn't get all the talk about visions or words of warning or omens. No, not at all, instead all it did was bring more confusion to her face. What the hell did she have to do with anything? Especially magic readings or being anyone's hope. She was just a normal woman! As Amelia knelled down though and offer her some water, it did seem to have a calming effect, as she took the waterskin and nearly drowned herself in it for a few moments. The mercenary had been right in assuming she got very little water and her entire body language seemed to improve by just getting some liquids in her.

After a moment of looking at both of them, examining them a bit more closely, she seemed to suddenly flush for no apparent reason. "N-no... never... I've just always.. been a servant.." She cast her eyes aside, adding, "and a slave.. but, um.." she continue, looking back up. "No.. nothing.. the only thing strange about me is.. my birthmark... t-that's it.. just a normal woman.." She looked between the two for a few more moments before gently lifting her right hand to show the Celtic knot seemingly tattooed into her skin - and that was the thing, it looked less like an actual birthmark and more like something that had been inscribed into her skin. As they looked at it, she gently bit her lower lip, watching them intently with a look of unspoken interest.

“Strange magic readings...?” Amelia muttered in thought, wondering about them. She was not a human and her inhuman part sometimes picked strange sensations from the world. She herself had sensed strangeness too in a few occasions, but didn't mention it. She was trying to keep her draconic side secret after all. Had those two knew about it, they will probably throw her out right away and probably try to kill her... it had happened before.

“Evelyn, slower, no need to drink that fast, you will choke if you aren't careful!” Amelia said to the smaller girl with concern. Good thing she didn't brought out food, the poor former slave was probably going to eat it all in haste.” Excuse me, Sister, but will it be possible to get some food for her?” Amelia asked the giantess.” Also will it be a problem to learn you name, because calling you 'Sister' all the time makes me feel like I've entered a monastery all over again...” The mercenary said with a smile. She wasn't making fun of the knight or anything, it was just the way Amelia felt.

“I see...” The mercenary began saying before the girl showed her birthmark. Amelia blinked a few times, her mouth opening and closing in attempts to find what to say.” Well... I will be darned, seems like I was right after all... blessed by a deity, but I have no idea who that seal belongs to...” She said in thought. Marks such as these were many and different for many deities had their own blessed champions. That said it was often hard to identify who blessed a person just by the mark on their bodies. Amelia herself had a black dragon head on her hip, hidden under her clothes, presumably put there by the being her mother made some kind of deal with.” I believe we might have to ask someone who knows ancient lore and deities about this... or we could hit the library. There might be mentioning of such mark in the records there.” Amelia said, before slowly standing up and unbuckling her sword's holder, leaning it on the nearby wall. She didn't want to have to carry it now that their were indoors. Such a big two-handed sword was uncomfortable to wear on her back while indoors. It made it impossible to seat on chairs and so on.

Ellie failed to hold back a giggle at Amelia's comment about the monastery. "My apologies, my name is Elizabeth, but you may call me Ellie, for short. And yes, we can get her some food, but we'll have to move to the mess hall." The mess hall was just down stairs, they actually went passed it when they snuck up into the living quarters. Ellie started thinking of what she should make for the three of them.. Maybe some soup or stew.. She thought, a few ideas going through her head.

Ellie's eyes widened when she saw the Celtic knot on Evelyn's wrist. She had seen that symbol before, when she was a Squire. She would often go into the library and randomly pick up books to read in between training. She remembered reading about the different deities. "That symbol.. I've seen it in one of the books at the library... I think it was from the deity....Uhm.. Arete? Apparently no one has seen that mark in decades. The book should still be in the library." She stated, trying to remember as much as she could. But alas, that's all she could remember. It was hard to believe that someone with a gift from a Deity was a slave girl. "But before we do all of that, I think we should eat something." The giant added with a smile.

At first, Evelyn didn't even recognize the word 'food,' and instead her mind focused on the obvious - mark of a deity? Blessed? Arete? Her mouth nearly dropped open at she listened to the two and turned her wrist over to look at the mark. She had always had it, for as long as she could remember, and in fact when most people got used it's presence it was like she wasn't special at all. She had never been special, but now she had two personal rescuers and she was gifted by a goddess? It was almost too much, too hard to really believe and take in, but the two women seemed so sure of themselves.

What did this mean though, if it was true? Would these two be her personal guardians now? Would she be kept hidden away in some temple or guarded under lock and key? Taken care for? Expected to do heroic things? Would she even find love? Only an hour ago most of these questions weren't even possible, but being whisked away from the life of servitude, she started to hope a little - just a little, that maybe she wouldn't be alone anymore. She hated it, after all, it was like a gnawing disease of depression to be so alone all the time.

Finally a, "thank you," was given to both of them. Though it was given shyly and with uncertainly, she still gave them both a very particular look, one of genuine kindness and gratitude. "I uh... yeah, food would be.. wonderful, thank you.." she again said with a bashful tone, finally giving them both a small, gentle smile. While she didn't say anything about her mark, it was obvious that thoughts were spinning around in that little pretty head of hers as she followed the two to the kitchen. As they finally sat down to eat, she seemed perfectly content listening to the other words they had to offer about the situation.

The mercenary couldn't help but smile as the giantess began giggling at her remark about the monastery. It was funny alright, but wasn't a thing Amelia wanted to do again anytime soon. She nearly went crazy after just a week there. Being locked up in a temple only with the women who devoted themselves to a deity was just a tad bit too much for her...” Well, nice to meet you Ellie.” She greeted with a smile.

“I won't be of much help in regards to deities, I'm not the most religious person, but I do know a thing that will have to be done right away...” Amelia narrowed her eyes, taking off one of her leather bracelets and giving it to Evelyn.” Here, put this on over that mark.” She said with calm and collected voice as they began following the giantess down to the kitchen.” There are certain organizations let's call em, that like to gather people who were marked. If you are found out, things might get complicated. That's why I propose for now to keep that little detail a secret.” She said, with concern. The world was a vast and dangerous place. There were those who gathered gifted people so they can mold them into tools to accomplish their own goals. It was sheer luck that she wasn't found out earlier. Amelia shuddered at the stories and rumors she had heard about the fate of gifted who were unfortunate to be found out by people with evil intentions.

“I'm sorry, Ellie, I would offer to help you, but my cooking as akin to poison...” Amelia said once they were inside the kitchen.” Though I suppose I can help with cutting the ingredients, I'm at least good at that.”

"They sicken me." She muttered with contempt when Amelia mentioned the 'organizations'. She had actually heard about a few small groups that had been attempting to round up those with the gifts. Fortunately, she wasn't one of the targets, since she was already under the protection of the Sisters from the beginning. Most of those small 'cults' had been eradicated by underhanded military operations, but there were still some around. Human greed seems to thrive in such a country.

Ellie waved her hand dismissively, "I won't be making anything too extravagant for now, so it won't take too long. Rest easy, Dragoon." She replied with a smile. She preferred to prepare everything by herself, so that she didn't have to bother other people to help her. Besides, as she said, it wasn't going to be anything complicated. And with that, she busied herself with cooking. It wasn't long before Ellie had three hot bowls of creamy soup on the table a few plates of sliced bread. "There's still a lot left in the pot, so if you need seconds, help yourself." Otherwise, it'd be left there for someone else to discover on their way back from whatever they were doing.

It was rather curious watching the two as they walked and dinner was server, herself eagerly lapping up the homemade meal (she seemed to enjoy the bread the most). They both interacted with her like most people had in her life, but also very differently - it was almost like she was still something to possess, an object or prize to take care of, and yet they were being extremely nice about it compared to others. It made her imagine herself akin to a well cared for doll. She was being provided for but they seemed much more interested in her 'deity' mark and their dreams than who she actually was, which didn't bother her as much as it should have. Perhaps she had just gotten far too used to not sharing herself with others anymore.

On the other hand, the two interacted in a way that could spark her fantasies on some level. They seemed to kid and smile at each other in a way she imagined two girls starting to fancy one another might act - even if the truth wasn't so far along yet. Still, they had just met and they already seemed on friendly grounds and even agreed on subjects that some might argue about. Evelyn figured even if she couldn't find love at some point in her life, it might be nice to see it blossom in others, even if her fantasies were just fantasies.

She quietly adjusted the bracelet on her wrist and looked down at it for a few moments, not expecting them to really address outside of questions about her mark, and just toyed with it for a few moments. At least she wouldn't end up like some lost relic stowed away for ages behind temple walls. At least the two women wouldn't let that happen to her, but whatever destiny she was supposed to be a part of, was she ready for it? She had a feeling these two guardians might push her to be that person.

“I see...” Amelia replied at Ellie's statement about resting easy and raised an eyebrow at the mentioning of her nickname.” I suppose it isn't surprising for a knight to know my nickname...” She said with a slight frown. She herself didn't really like that nickname, it reminded her too much of her real nature, but people had taken a liking to calling her that.” Woe me for participating in that military campaign at the Dragon's pass...” It was the battle that is responsible for her specific raise in popularity among military circles and the source of that blasted nickname. True enough without her participation there, the kingdom might have suffered a lot bigger damages if that pass fell, but now she couldn't visit a city looking for work without representatives from military organizations pestering her to join them. Hell she even got a few marriage proposals so they can tie her to a certain noble families and so on... fame wasn't always the best thing.

“Looks delicious~” She finally said when the bowls of soup were served. Sure enough they were quite the big size as they were fit for giants after all. For Amelia that wasn't a problem for she had a dragon's appetite as they called it, but she wondered if Evelyn will be able to eat the entire thing.

The mercenary was eating quite fast due the reason she herself barely had anything to eat in the last week or so. She had to ride pretty much all the time she can, barely stopped for a rest so she can arrive here before the slave auction began. While hunger was a thing she suffered right now, she was also somewhat tired, but not to the point of falling asleep while standing state yet.” And it doesn't just look and smell delicious, it is quite tasty as well! Almost makes me wanting to join to be a squire here so I can eat such delicious things more often!” Amelia laughed softly.

“Alright, first thing that we need to do is determine the specifics of the meaning of the mark.” She said to Evelyn, this was the girl's problem and she needed to hear what it meant.” Such marks usually come with certain let's call them boons and their own little problems to solve.” She explained to the smaller woman.” The marked person usually has some kind of power that is useful in specific ways, but let's say your power is making it easy for you to destroy undead. When the masters of undead creature learn about it they will try everything in their might to kill you and so on. So we check that mark and hope it doesn't make you the mortal enemy of something...”
