~Ruxen~

“It’s coming from right in front of us…also, no. I’m pretty sure they’re just going to sell you a knife with you blood on it,” Ruxen said sarcastically to her companions. She wondered just how dense they could be when suddenly someone, or rather, something huddled out of the woods wielding…well, exactly a blood knife. At least now they knew what the sound was.

Ruxen turned to deliver a swift, “I told you so” moment when the woman suddenly lunged about swinging madly. Well it wasn’t like she could let them die on her so Ruxen charged headlong towards the woman. She caught the swinging arm in her jaws, widened her eyes, and then spat it out, kicking the apparition away and giving them some distance.

“Pah, ugh! Nasty fucking stuff…the hell? Why the fuck are you two just standing there? Move it so we can get the fucking out of here!”

Back in the ruined wreckage in Arcadia, the voices calling each individual member of the party group echoed in further retaliation. The rustle of the bracken and the reeds implied that there was someone there so it wasn’t just a trick of the wind. The called forth Alex’s name, beckoning him closer to the person…and the riverbank.

However, the voices immediately halted when Sienna and Linea appeared and remained silent as the two twins worked to free Alex. As soon as the three of them had recovered, the calls began again. Only this time, both Sienna and Linea’s name had been added to the mix with Alex’s.

“Soma are you there? Over here with the others!”

“Tori is that you? We’re all gathered here at the riverbank!”

"Alright, be careful," Alex yelled back as he heard the muffled voices above him, indicating that someone was there to rescue him. It earned a sigh of relief, even if that was short lived due to how rapidly the metal above him froze. He quickly shifted back, as far from the ice as he could so he didn't get frozen too.

What he wasn't expecting was for the metal to crack, threatening to plunge onto him, only for himself to be surrounded in the safe protection of a metallic gauntlet. Eyes wide, he looked around to see an iron golem of sorts holding him, before placing him next to the twins. He stumbled momentarily before recovering, bowing with a flourish. "Thank you for the assist ladies," he said with a grin. "I'm not sure how I would have gotten out of there otherwise."

He took a moment to really look himself over then, testing for broken bones or sprains, and noting the many scratches and cuts that he had from the crash landing. "I'm fine," he reassured them. "Just a bit roughed up." This was not the sort of thing he had imagined happening when he set off on this expedition.

"Alright then. Be careful," he said to the duo as the twins headed off to look for more survivors of the crash, and Alex proceeded to look around as he tried to come up with what to do next. Well, he should probably help out, if only to build goodwill for later. Besides, he wasn't the sort of person to just sit around on his hands and coalesce. He needed to be doing something.

Before they could get far though someone began calling them again, or for the first time rather it seemed. He couldn't quite remember. Well, he might as well check it out, even if he wasn't sure why they would be by the river bank. "I'll go see how they're doing," he called to the twins with a gesture towards the river before walking off, ready to help out however was needed in dealing with this crash.

Fei

At the wizard’s expected sign of frenzy, Fei smirked to herself. She knew it wouldn’t last for long, especially because she was approaching the two, but it would be enough to get the upper hand. Jessi and her needed to get rid of all their opponents as quickly as possible. The fate of her mother rested on their shoulders. As her eyes stayed focused on the two opponents in front of her, the colosseum rumbled with a large amount of power and a silence hushed over the crowd. Dammit Jessi Fei cursed, not allowing herself to glance back. Going into battle distracted was almost giving up entirely. Jessi would be fine, she convinced herself. Looking back would be a dishonor. Nodding to herself, her fiery eyes turned to focus on the ice witch.

Unfortunately, before her enchantment could do much damage to the woman, she had taken notice of her. The moment she spoke of Fei as a weakling little girl, her eyes turned dark. She absolutely hated it when people looked her off simply because she was young or a girl. Most of her time was spent with people who avoided her from fear and dealing with an entire group of people who not only weren’t scared but thought of her as weak enraged her. She let the hatred strengthen her flame, let it consume her tome, and fill her with power.

“I know a bluffer when I see one,”
She spoke back at woman’s snarky comment about cards. Smirking, she willed her flames to encircle the woman, keeping her separated from both Fei and the wizard who had yet to defeat the woman’s ice power. Part of her hoped the ice block had taken care of him but she still readied herself to fight both of them. Fire Vs. Ice. The upcoming battle would surely prove to be quite interesting. Both of her swords sat tight clutched within her hands waited for the fight.

God’s Shattering

The battle rages on!!

Emilia drummed her fingers against the arm of her throne, she was getting tired of this farce, this whole tournament wasn’t even fun anymore to the Fallen Princess. “Why has no one died yet? This isn’t a game of tag.” As the stadium began to rumble and crack under Tegonay’s massive power, Emilia sighed. It was too good up to now, but the derelict sandstone structure would hardy survive for long enough to see the final’s after the Black Knight had all but pulverized its foundations. Thereby the Fallen Princess got back to her feet and gestured for the masses to silence themselves, Emilia’s cold imperial aura being enough to chill even the last of the fleeing brigands to the bone.

“My beloved people, for reasons beyond our control at the moment, the tournament must be brought to an end now, the sacrifice of blood in my father’s honor has been satisfactory already. In honor of you all, my brave gladiators, here’s your last challenge.” As Emilia gestured behind herself, none but Asgard rose from her feet and reached for the Red Relic, which morphed into the known shape of Vladimir, the Crimson Knight’s own tome. “As you can see, my dear Imperial dolls, the Red Relic has always been in front of your eyes. Asgard, no, my dear Eleonor, always had it, the Crimson Bloodstone. As my parting gift to those who wish to get such a fabulous prize, I say… Defeat Asgard and it shall be all yours.”

Emilia turned on her back and walked away slowly, laughing as loud as she could, “These fools, did they ever though I would give them a chance of winning? Fufufu…. Whahahahaha!” On her way out of the tribune Emilia crossed the gaze of the Jester and only ever sneered, “There, my promise has been upheld, you can have your knight back. For the time being I’ve got much more than I needed, both fun and…” With a swift move of her dexterous digits, Emilia revealed to the Jester the thing she was truly after, as ruby about the half the size of her clenched fist, shining as red as blood itself. And so, the Princess left for the shadows, to fulfill a dark purpose that only the Jester and Emilia were aware of.

Back at the center stage, Eleonor descended the stairs that connected the honor tribune with the arena floor, the leather bound volume in her hands eventually changing shapes to that of her executioner’s sword and Eleonor’s cold eyes glanced upon the five before her without even a hint of compassion on them. This was going to be tough battle to everyone there, getting out alive being the hardest of all tasks.

Vassagus, who had recovered from Fei’s assault on time to escape from Letty overly dramatic spell, merely at the cost of an arm, used the confusion to bail out amidst a colossal black fire ball that would force all of the present to the defensive lest they become toast. The Mercenary Sorcerer knew all too well when he had been set-up and this was one such case. Living to fight another day being the only law binding Vassagus, there was no reason for him to stay. When the Gehenna flames receded, he was no more to be see, at least for now…

Tegonay on the other hand took advantage of Jessi’s confusion and having no need to fear the flames, kicked the spearman towards the fire before spinning on place and launching an assault on Asgard, doing his usual overhead smash move. “Crimson Knight Asgard, under command of Lord Yggdrasil, Leader of the Knights of Ragnarok, you are to be executed for treason. Prepare yourse- !?” Before Tegonay could finish his charge and collide with Asgard, a blade of pure blood bisected the black armor, right around the waistline where Jessi concluded was indeed the best place to hard a fully plated warrior. “How… come you be this power… ful? Is that the true… meaning of the power the Knights of Ragnarok wiel-?” Tegonay’s voice grew weaker and weaker until it was little but a whisper with the two halves of the Black Knight laying on the floor of the arena, limp and lifeless a moment after.

Asgard, The Crimson Knight

"So, it has finally come to this, Fei. The day when we cross blades with each other? I hope you do me proud and come with all you have, my beloved daughter." Asgard said, dismissing Tegonay as a threat while eyeing the others. "You, Jessi, has proven to be much more worthy than I thought, but this ends here. If you want to prove yourself to be worth of Fei's hand you must defeat me first, then you'll have my blessings. As for Letty, Asgard merely regarded her with contempt, otherwise ignoring the presence of the unknown person, if the Ice Witch dared make a suspicious move her fate wouldn't be all different from that of Tegonay.

As Asgard fell into a battle stance a hazy cloud of bloodied sand began to dance all around the arena, it looked like the Crimson Knight was really going to go through her threats. However her consciousness seemed to be in place, it was just a matter of Asgard's judgement being affect by whatever Emilia had done with her. The question is... will they be able to stop her?

Mikoto Kanzaki

"That's some bad news, Ruxy." Mikoto said with a grin upon Ruxen's reply, "The only one allowed to cut a deal here is me. If they try to slash my profit I'll have no option but break them."

As the peddler said so, she suddenly noticed the commotion regarding the hag looking woman and as Ruxen threw her backwards, Mikoto though it was her chance to make some gold, or silver, or whatever... "So, ma'am, you seem to have a bone to pick with Chenny Boy, huh?" Mikoto said as she circled the woman while riding her broom, a shameless smile ever present in her lips. "Is she one if the women you've... known, erm... Chenny Boy? I didn't though you was the type for these things, hehe."

Mikoto continued to circle the woman analyzing, before she said, "Anyway, ma'am you look a little beaten, if you want to lift you spirits, I have a Healing Balm made with rare herbs from the South. It's sure to bring you back to shape and it can be yours for four a small fee. So, what do you say?" Mikoto asked with an innocent smile on her face, still doing loops around the hag, barely out of her arm's reach.

The woman cried out as her arm was bitten into, causing her to back away quickly as Ruxen let go. She backed off, swinging her knife wildly with an angry, delusional, and... scared look in her eyes. The moment the blonde started circling her on a broom, she started to wail, breaking down into tears and holding her face partially with one hand, sobbing and with her other, shakingly swinging it. When the blonde finished speaking, the woman looked up, her face twisted in gut-wrenching terror.

"Leave.... You...H..."

She spoke in whimpers, reaching out again, both to the broom girl and to the others, looking ready to cut anything that got close. She brought her hands to the side of her head, hyperventilating.

"Hhh.... They're coming... They...!"

At the moment her voice started to get high pitched and tense with fear, the blonde would feel something quickly pass over her shoulder as she rode in circles. A golden tipped arrow had impaled the woman through the head from the back, leaving the tip in front on display to Ruxen and Chen in the dead center of her forehead.

"A-ah..."

The woman's eyes had gone wide at first... then slowly began to relax with her eyelids half closing before she crumpled to the ground, her golden knife skittering across the dirt as blood pooled out of her head and onto the sparse grass below. A final, long exhale left her lips and her color paled. The woman with the broken leg was dead. Not a dozen yards away stood a gray-skinned man with black eyes with a golden circlet over his pale hair and his lower body clad in gold, lightweight looking armor. His stance was tense, holding a bow up with a quiver full of arrows on his back.

The black eyes focused on the three standing there, no doubt lightly sprayed with the blood of the woman who had tried to attack them, and he slowly cocked his head to the side. He raised his right, unoccupied hand, and made a symbol with his hand where his index and thumb were closed with the remaining fingers fanned out. He drew his hand back, and then forward.

From the tree line, upon the gray-skinned man's signal, a few dozen other soldiers similar in appearance ran forward, all of them seemingly coming towards the three that had just witnessed the woman's death.

Chen Chideta

Chen raised an eyebrow at Mikoto's statement, blushing as he suddenly realized the implication. "I- I would never-" He was suddenly interrupted by Ruxen basically saving his ass. "Thank you Ruxen." He said politely as the blush faded from his cheeks. What a perplexing situation for him, being attacked and being unable to attack back. Thank god that was over with.

"Miss Mikoto, please stop trying to sell to the person trying to kill us." Chen asked as he began to let his shield melt. Then an arrow shot through the woman's head. Chen's eyes widened as he was sprayed by blood, some of it got in his eye, but that didn't matter. A grey man emerged from the forest, the killer in question. "You dare! How could you kill this woman in cold blood!" Anger bloomed on Chen's face as he slowly let go of reason. "She was injured! She was scared for her life and you took her life! How dare you! How dare you!" Ice began to spread all across the ground, but suddenly stopped. Chen was breathing heavy, his eyes were slowly going half to their usual blank stare. "You will pay for your crimes. An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, a life for a life." Chen took a deep breath and the ice on the ground melted. The man made some hand signals and more people emerged from the forest.
Chen put his hand into his jacket pocket and grabbed the Green Relic, pulling it out and holding it tightly. "Here's hoping I don't turn into a vegetable." And then Chen pumped Mana into it. A lot, enough for a good amount of spells really. And he prayed that it would work.

~Ruxen~

“You know if we weren’t being attacked right now, I’d properly kick your ass sideways to next week Mikoto. Since you have nothing better to do than make lame ass fucking puns!”

While the peddler was making wise cracks, Chen was busy being freaked out by the murder that had taken place in front of them. Seeing him get emotional was not going to help their odds, especially when their attackers were revealed to be gray-skinned men. Taking a single sniff of their scent, Ruxen tensed in place and immediately began growling.

“So, uh, hey Chen? We should probably get the fuck out of here since these guys are…well, they’re fucking Fae. I should be fine but you two are dead as dead can be-the fuck are you doing?!?”

As she turned to bark at Chen for his stupidity, she felt the sudden surge of power crackle from the Green Legend Relic. As Chen placed his pressure though the small gem, the area around them had begun to tremble and shake. Vines and numerous other undergrowth beneath them began to spasm and grow, coiling around the area like a forest being birthed from nothing.

Green sparks would dance along Chen’s fingers as the Spirit of the Relic manifested inside of him. Two new weapons would appear in his palms, given shape and form through twin blades with that seemed to be thick wires running through their length. As Ruxen watched the transformation and the Green Relic being utilized, something else caught her attention. As if given a response to this, the Relic pulsed with an eerie light…

“Wait…they have a Relic too?”

Back in Arcadia, the voices had all but died down except for the one still calling Alex’s name; given that no one else was coming, there was no need to do so. As Alex exited the tall grass and entered the river bank, he would find nothing and no one there. All that was seen was the wide river which spanned on for miles and miles. Across from it though was a temple of some sort…the pathway to their treasure?

Even so, the voice continued to call him and had devolved into sounding generic and flat now. As if the voice belonged to none of his temporary companions…if he chose to stay and investigate, he would discover the source of the false voices. Something stared right back at him from the water, the crown of its head and beady black eyes just barely breaking the surface.

It did not move nor did it speak any further. All it did…was watch him.

Tori

Tori was drifting in and out of conciousness, sounds mixing and echoing though her head. Trying to recall what happened, all she could remember was plummeting like a rock and the airship making to smash to the floating ground of Arcadia, before her head crashed into the wall as she lost conciousness.

Rubbing her eyes weakly as light filtered down to her, Tori looked down and saw a large piece of shrapnel piercing her chest. Blinking Tori felt her face pale and felt nothing, fearing she was in shock, Tori tried to remove the piece of metal only for her hands to phase through.

Laughing louder than she ever had in her life Tori rolled to the side and phased through the object. The thrill of life after thinking you were dead, is there a greater feeling? Tori couldn’t think of one and spinning around as she did, she felt no stiffness. Surely there must be a God of some kind because she experienced an incredible number of coincidences for her to survive all this.

Hearing a voice calling her name Tori rolled her eyes This has to be some kind of trap... but what would be setting it? A native? Are there Arcadian tribals? Or is it a beast of some sort emulating human speech patterns, reciting them back? I have to know and with that thought, Tori cautiously walked forward, science demanding an answer

Passing beyond the tall underbrush and to the river bank itself, Alex frowned as he looked around. There was....nothing here, which was good and bad. It was bad since it meant that there was nobody here, and who knew where they might be at the moment. But it was good in that it wasn't a trap. Probably. There was still plenty of time for a trap to be sprung.

Yet he was momentarily distracted from that by the sight of the temple across the river. That was interesting, good even. Where there was a temple there tended to be valuable stuff, perhaps even treasure or Relics. He wouldn't have been surprised to learn that if they headed inside and ended up finding something. It was just a matter of, well, getting there, getting inside, finding the Relic, all that stuff. But hey, one thing at a time. He would focus on the details once he got to that point.

At that point though it was obvious that the voice had not belonged to anyone that he knew. Thinking on it for a moment brought the possibility that this was what they were waiting for, but his curiosity got the better of him regardless. So he looked on, and ended up brought up short by what he actually saw. Well then, that was....ugly.

"What are you then," he muttered to himself as he came up short, watching the thing as it watched him, almost like a competitive staring match as he waited for something to happen. So, what now?

Mikoto Kanzaki

"Heh, you have much to learn of the ways of a peddler, Chenny Boy. Profit can come even as they are trying to stab you in the back, or..." Mikoto said as she replied to Chen's complaints about her business making, just before noticing the oncoming threat and dodging the arrow just in time, "put an arrow through your skull. Hehe."

Mikoto noticed the weird assailants coming, but her first preoccupation was wiping the droplets of blood from herself with a Kerchief of Cleaning -100% guaranteed to remove most types of marks- before bending down to pick up the knife. "Well, I guess you can say we are on a stingy situation, right? At least this here might be worth something later, even though it's just gold plated." Mikoto said as she lightly bit the knife's blade, after cleaning it as well.

"Hey, gray punk! Hablas mi lengua?" Mikoto asked the main shooter as she got close to him, trusting her face until it was a few centimeters away from his. "I don't know if you have noticed, but you just killed a customer about to buy my goods. If you're not going to buy anything to make up for my loss, then get of here, before Chenny Boy turns you into a porcupine with using your own arrows, prick!" Though, Ruxen mentioning that they may have a relic on them made Mikoto's ear perk up, even if she was no beastkin and she said amidst one of her characteristic grins. "However... I maybe willing to convince Chenny Boy here to let you go in one piece, for the right price, of course."

After leaving Alex's side, the twins walked aimlessly for a few minutes, trying to find any evidence of someone else being alive, though they were unable to find anymore survivors of the crash. Eventually, their ears would catch the sound of the mysterious creature by the riverside and, after a couple minutes of foraging through soaked turf and shrubs, the Twins finally came by the same riverbank where Alex and Tori stood staring at some odd creature, thought they seemed to not have noticed the others' presence yet.

God's Shattering

After being kicked to the ground by Tegonay, Jessi was able to recover just in time to see Asgard, The Crimson Guardian herself, dispose of the black knight with ease and challenge the remaining combatants to battle. All the fear Jessi felt fighting Tegonay was nothing compared to the terror he felt now. This was Emilia’s doing and she would surely pay for it. But as his former opponent demonstrated, no one lasted more than a few seconds against the legendary executioner who currently blocked their path to the vile ruler.

All of Fei’s attention was pulled away from the ice witch as Emilia made yet another announcement to the crowd. It seemed Fei’s very heart had stop beating as the words slipped from Emilia’s lips. A joke. All of it had to be a joke. She hadn’t come all the way, fought her ass off, only to be blindsided by some pigheaded, fake princess. There was no way in hell Fei would fight her mother, she absolutely refused to be tricked by this filthy imp.

“You bitch,” Fei cursed out, hoping her screech could be heard by the ears of Emilia. “I will find you, and I will kill you.” It was a promise she would make for the rest of her life. Fei wouldn’t rest until the mutt was dead. No one would mess with her family, her mother, and walk away clean.

Fei breathed in as she watched her mother ascend down to the arena, her eyes never leaving Eleanor’s side. “No one touch her,” She screamed to everyone around her. If someone so much as turned Eleonor’s way, Fei’s fire would show absolutely no mercy. Never before had she felt so enraged and so defeated at the same time. Despite the explanation the Jester had given her, she still couldn’t understand as how her mother was picked off so easily. She wanted to fall into a ball and cry, the situation seemed almost hopeless. Any fire left burning her hair seemed to diminish. Anyone who came at her, Fei was willing to fight, but not her mother. She would rather die than even attempt it.

“Mother, please. It’s me, Fei, your daughter.” She called out, hoping somewhere she could reach her mother. “You don’t need to do this; Emilia is messing with your mind.”

The sight of Fei breaking down before her, Eleonor's worst nightmare come true, shook the executioner's resolve to fight, how could she... try to kill her own daughter? Yet, "Ugh-I... Fei, don-don't..." Emilia's commands were stronger than even Eleonor's will, it looked like the puppeteer had her wires coiled tightly around Eleonor, in a very literal way. As the tell tale glint of the magic wires coiling around the Crimson Knight and the pillars made it clear that Emilia still had her grasp on Eleonor.

Perhaps, if they could cut those before Asgard killed them all, would they be able to bring her back?

Tension hung in the air as Jessi could do nothing but watch as Fei attempted to pull her mother out of her possessed state. He felt helpless in the situation but what could he do? Even if Fei hadn’t ordered him to stand down he wasn’t foolish enough to think he could best one of the Imperium's greatest warriors. No, all he could do was stand back and hope Fei’s plan would succeed.

At least, that’s what he thought. But as Fei”s plan appeared to be working; something caught his eye. Small coils made of magic were wrapped around the guardian much like a puppet with strings. Jessi’s mind flashed back to the baths where Emilia had sewn his wounds together, the magic she used was identical! Surely these were the same, but how to break them? An idea came to him. It was crude, but worth a shot

Flipping his spear upside down, he pulled his arm back ready to throw at the coil nearest to him. Taking a deep breath he lined up the shot and with all his strength threw his spear straight at it. He could only hope it would break and maybe free Asgard enough that she or Fei could do the rest.

Watching her mother, the strongest and most fierce fiercest woman she knew, struggle against the spell of a pathetic worm, was possibly the most painful thing Fei had ever done. Eleonor was still fighting though, despite it all. Hearing her mother’s true voice for the first time, no matter how weak and jumbled it was, gave her a speck of hope. Perhaps her mother could fight through this, and win. “Mother, you can do this. Please. Fight it. You are the mighty Crimson Knight and I swear, you will win this battle.” She called out again.

A ray of sunshine shone on the group as if the gods above wanted to see what would come next. Fei’s eyes stayed locked on her mother though. They would walk out of here together, no matter what. As she was staring, Fei’s eyes noticed sparkling wires attached to her mother. Her eyes darkened. Emilia.

Jessi motioned his spear toward Eleonor, and Fei knew he had seen the coils wrapped around Asgard as well. If they could cut them all off, would that end the connection between Emilia and her mother? It was damn worth trying. Just as Jessi’s spear left his hands, Fei wasted no time and bolted toward her. Her double swords tight in her arms, she motioned to cut off all the attached strings quickly. It was better to get them all before Eleonor lost control again and they were to fight, for that would be a battle surely lost for Fei and Jessi. It had to be now. Fei only prayed her mother could fight Emilia long enough for Fei to cut off the rest of the strings.

Both Jessi's spear and Fei's twin blades found hit home on Emilia's strings, the coils of magic undoing themselves in a violent lashing motion as Asgard, or rather, Eleonor finally could be freed of the enchantment of the Puppetmaker. "Ugh... Fe-Fei? What have I do-" Eleonor could barely say anything, the strength falterig her as the spell was undone and she fell to her knees, using her sword to prop herself up. Just about that time the colossuem began to fall on their head for real, they had only one chance of survival and it was to escape... now!

However it was quite clear that Eleonor wasn't able to pull her own weight so Fei and Jessi would have to carry her out, lest they all be crushed under the weight of thousands of tons off rock and join the massive grave that the arena had become. Though as easy as it sounded, just like everyhing on life, there's always a catch and this one came in the form of Tegonay's (who had crawled up to them despite being only half the man man-armor he once was) cold iron grip latching around Eleonor's left ankle just as the floor bellow him was about to crumble and plummet both knights to the great dark bellow.

"You are not going to stand on Lord Yggdrasil's path. The fake Crimson Knight must perish!"

Only quick thinking could save them now, but... there would be time for it?

Almost the same moment they had achieved victory, it was once more being threatened. Tegonay had survived what should have been a fatal blow and was now pulling Asgard down a pit that had split open in the ground. Jessi quickly scanned the arena for anything he could use seeing he was now without a weapon. A shiny miracle presented itself in the form Tegonay’s blade lying on the ground where he had been sliced in half.

There was little time to think it through. Jessi simply ran full speed dodging falling debris until he reached the black sword. Without even slowing he slid his foot under the hilt of the blade and kicked it up into his hands. Tightly gripping the sword, he leaped into the air in a fashion similar to how the black knight had used it and brought it down on his enemies arm. ”The only fake knight here, is you!” Jessi stated before giving a swift kick to Tegonay’s face intending to send him down the pit without the Guardian.

As it should, the strings attached to her mother were destroyed as Jessi and Fei’s blades made contact. A sigh of pure relief escaped Fei’s mouth. It was over. Finally. She muttered a silent prayer under her breath. Of course things never ended happily for the moment the prayer left her lips, the entire coliseum shook as if Emilia was attempting her one last trick for her acclaimed prey. Run as she might, there would be no corner of the world Emilia could hide from the raging fire in Fei’s heart. Soon, she would burn. Of course, revenge would have to wait until tomorrow. They needed to get out of here, now.

Somehow surviving the devastating blow of Eleonor, the pathetic Tegonay latched onto her mother’s ankle, hoping to send both of them down a collapsing hole in the arena. “Pathetic traitor,” Fei snapped. She nodded in approval as Jessi snatched the knight’s sword and kicked him straight into the hole. “We need to get out of here, fast,” Fei yelled over the pounding noise of the arena quickly falling in on them. Pulling her mother’s arm around her shoulder, Fei began making the seemingly long trek back to safety. Although she was strong, Fei couldn’t drag her mother fast enough. She’d be damned if they didn’t get out of here on time. Gritting her teeth, Fei continued pulling her mother out of the arena.

A few days later...

And so, it was over. The nightmare at the burning sands of Exilia had ended thanks to Fei and Jessi, who not only secured the Red Relic, but also rescued Asgard, the Crimson Knight, from the grasp of the villainous Emilia Warov. As a proof of good will, the Imperator rewarded them all with an official leave so that they could rest and recover their strength, especially Eleonor, who was still suffering the after effects of Emilia's drugs and hideous tortures. Just as so, the Imperator had also appointed one of her trusted servants to become Eleonor's handmaiden from now on, one who would also be able protect the Crimson Knight and ensure an incident like this never comes to pass again.

Such rest was to be taken at one of Asgard's many residences outside of the Capital, her chateau at the quaint Mountain Village of Orello, on the mountain ranges that rise above the crest of Rivenwood mighty sea of trees. Orello wasn't chosen at random as well, being one of the Imperium's most traditional outposts, serving as training grounds for a grand majority of the Imperial forces, a full regiment was permanently stationed in the village, ensuring peace on the otherwise wild lands. Orello was also known for the quality of its two main products of trade, their sheep and their beer, both legendary far and wide through the Shattered Realms, as well as it's thermal waters, said to be able to cure any ill of body or soul. Finally, Orello was the home of a couple of legendary heroes that helped save the Imperium on a time of crisis a long time ago, a Paladin of the Old Gods and a Knight of the Imperium whose names and deeds went down on history. It was no wonder that this was the place the Imperator sent them to.

As another reward Jessi was offered both a promotion to Lieutenant rank and minor hereditary title of Lord, including a fiefdom over a village and its adjacent territories, wherever he wished to within the Imperial lands in recognition for his heroic efforts despite being just a rank and file soldier. For Fei, the Imperator granted what might as well be the thing she desired the most, information regarding Emilia, though it was just the rumors that reached her ears about the Fallen Princess, collaboration with the Librarians in order to overthrow the Imperium. A full report could be acquired from Belina Aquarian, the Adjunct Queen of the Aquarian and Arcadian territories as well as second-in-command of the Intelligence division.

As another morning rose, with the sun breaking over the mountain tops to illuminate the barley fields that surrounded the chateau with its golden warmth, So did Eleonor rose in her room, and went to meet Fei and Jessi at the dinning hall, besides her maid. "Once again I have to thank you for your efforts, Fei and Jessi, know that if you ever come to the choice of- Well, I'll support whatever choice you two make of your future, that's what I want to say. Now, I have a favor to ask, I want you two to investigate a possible attempt at a coup d’état, from... Yggdrasil. Yes, it was because of him that I was captured and I know he's up for something, but can't act against it, you two however are free knights for the time being, you can act without the weight of a division to hinder you. I'm sorry to ask for this, but there's no other choice. In case you two accept, the first place to seek clues would be back in Infinitum, with the Priestess of the Holy Order, Antonia at the Imperial Cathedral. Please, take your time to think before making your choice. Now, let's eat something, important decisions can't be made on an empty stomach, right?'" Eleonor said just before beginning her own breakfast.

As mighty wind blew by the barley fields, its stalks danced like a million golden fox tails, producing a nostalgic melody that had been heard on Orello for ages. It looked like the time for change was coming for the Imperium, the true question was. Would it be for good or ill?

* * *

Back at Exilia, a black gauntlet finally broke down through all the rocks entombing him, after digging for days with a steely resolve, as it grasped the open air with a powerful fist. "Lord... Yggdrasil..." A hollow voice said. It looked like... The nightmare wasn't over yet.

Jessi

A ray of light from the morning sun slipped past the curtains and shone on the sleeping soldier’s face, pulling him from his slumber. The days following their much anticipated leave from Exilia had blurred together to the point Jessi could hardly recall how he had ended up in the guest room of Eleonor. Pushing himself out of bed he pulled the curtains apart and let the light pour into the room. Opening the windows a smile came to him as he peered over the familiar tree covered landscape of Rivenwood accompanied by a refreshing cool breeze; something he had longed for since the hot days in that infernal desert.

Awake and alert he finally began to piece together the events that had lead him to such a luxury. Though days of travel and danger had exhausted the otherwise sharp boy, the much needed rest had refreshed his mind and unscrambled his memory. The escape from the colosseum, meeting the Imperator, he remembered everything with clarity now, though he was still in disbelief about it. Never in his life did he dream that he would accomplish so much this early in his career, but the badge of Lieutenant on his armor hanging in the corner was proof he had done just that.

Wait...Did he own a village now? This was the one thing he wasn’t quite sure on but he could almost swear her grace had given him such. Hs train of thought was interrupted by the sound of his stomach crying for food, perhaps he would think better with some food in his system. Getting his clothes on and strapping his tome to his head, he exited the room and made his way to the dining hall.

It came no surprise to him that Fei was already there when he arrived. He learned quickly in Exilia that she often woke up earlier than him and was out the door before he could say a word. Though now that they were no longer in enemy territory nor in any sort of danger, Jessi wondered if she would have a more cheerful demeanor; or at least calm enough to actually have a full conversation with him. Figuring it was worth a shot, he took a seat next to the princess and greeted her

”Morning princess.” He said with a friendly smile on. ”I take it you had a good sleep? Especially considering the fact we got separate rooms this time.” Before much more could be said, Asgard entered accompanied by her new bodyguard. Though he knew the true reasons she was assigned one, Jessi couldn’t help but notice the fact that both members of the Guardian’s family now had their own personal guard.

Addressing everyone in the room, the Crimson Knight spoke of her thanks about the rescue, and the terrible reason her capture had occurred in the first place. Though the beginning statements about their future made poor Jessi’s face flush red enough to match Fei’s hair, his embarrassment was quickly overpowered by pure shock at the revelation that Yggdrasil was behind what had happened.

While it explained why Tegonay, a knight of the Platinum Guardian, had tried to kill Asgard in the arena, so much more was put into question by it. Yggdrasil was like a hero among the people, to learn he was behind such a heinous act put a knot in Jessi’s stomach. He could barely even touch the food in front of him despite his previous hunger. It didn’t help that another thought occurred to him that nearly made him sick. Was Yggdrasil, head of the royal guard and personal protector of the Imperator, in league with the Librarians?

Chen Chideta

Chen felt the power of the Green Relic course through him, green sparks danced along his body as the Spirit filled his body. Chen grasped the weapons that formed in his hands and stared down the leader of the group. He vaguely heard Ruxen say something about him being a Fae and them having a Legend Relic, but it didn't matter. A murderer was a murderer, no matter what species.

Then Mikoto had to jump in once more, offering to spare them for money. "No. There will be no deals. Blood is paid for with blood." Chen uttered simply as the forest weighed around them. He pointed the blade in his left hand at the one he assumed was their leader and glared at him intensely. "You may have 20 seconds to repent your sins. After which I will kill you. Pick a god and pray."

This had nothing to do with actual prayer of course. Chen was actually buying himself time to figure out how to use these new powers. Being gifted with an Ice tome was great, but it really didn't help you learn how to use what was basically the exact opposite magic. He tried to move around some vines on the ground discretely and frowned internally. He tried once more and was rewarded with success. There were now vines on the ground near the leaders legs. Now the real test was using those for combat.

Lorelai

As the first rays of dawn's early light bathed the chateau nestled among the mountain's of Orello in an amber glow, dazzling refractions cast themselves off of freshly polished armor to paint a dizzying array of color across a Spartan guest room. The lone occupant set down an oiled rag and turned a critical eye to her armor of blackened steel, dissecting every facet with an intensity that would have left her old drill sergeant feeling inadequate in comparison. After inspecting her regalia from every angle she could conceive, the Abyssal Knight Lorelai let out a satisfied hum as she could find no fault with her work. Not a single blemish could be tolerated on the nigh hollowed ground she stood upon, the current residence of the embodiment of Imperial Justice herself, Lady Eleanor.

Resting atop a desk burdened by ordered stacks of paperwork and reports was a ruffled sheet of paper that had been well worn in only a short time. Lorelai approached the paper and took it in hand, her fingers still clenching it tightly as emotion overcome her. The transfer papers, signed and sealed by the Imperator, that put her in the service of Lady Eleanor as her personal guard under the pretext of serving as a hand maiden. It could have said she was to serve solely as Lady Eleanor's scullery maid and it wouldn't have smothered the fire burning inside her.

"It's time to begin the day proper." With the reverence of one handling a holy book she set the papers down and once more returned to the armor. Hand maiden or not, she knew no uniform beyond the one before her. It was the best, and last, suit she would ever wear.

The Abyssal Knight was near certain she had failed to breathe the entire way from Lady Eleanor's private chambers to the dining room where they would be partaking in breakfast with the Crimson Knight's daughter and the newly christened Lord who followed her. The true north of Lorelai's moral compass was walking right beside her, and it was all Lorelai could do to walk forward without stumbling over her own feet. Lorelai would have been infinitely more comfortable if her assistant had come with her on this assignment, but she had proved difficult to find on short notice and had to be left to fend for herself.

Lorelai's tension abated upon arriving at the dining hall and sharing the company of others, even if they were of substantially higher standing then herself. The food had been brought out before hand, Lorelai herself inspecting it for poison while perusing the kitchen's for enough lamb to sate her partner's hunger earlier in the morning. For now she was to dine among the company of heroes, a daunting prospect for any to endure, and this wasn't aided in the slightest by the bombshell revelation dropped onto their laps before anyone had even taken a single bite.

First, discussing the future engagements of Lady Fei and Lord Jessi was a rather embarrassing subject for an uninitiated stranger like Lorelai, and judging by their reactions it was a mutual feeling.

Now Lorelai had been given brief reports on what had occurred in Exilia, that Asgard had been abducted and hoisted off as the prize in a phony tournament orchestrated by the Fallen Princess Emilia. Beyond that details were rather spotty, and at the time of reading Lorelai was far too incensed at the very idea that someone could lay a hand on Lady Eleanor to rationally process any further trivialities.

Still, it had not been mentioned anywhere that Yggdrasil had any involvement in the crisis. The idea that such a betrayal could occur, and from one so trusted and seemingly devoted to the Imperium was alien and wholly incompatible with her mind set. What she could decipher was that a treacherous element had acted against the Imperium by targeting her idol, the arbiter of justice and morality in the Imperator's lands, and because of this treachery Lady Eleanor had been forced into the vile, unclean, barbarous hands of that pig sow known as Emilia Warov who would experience unending agony when Lorelai finally go-

The quiet groan of stressed metal derailed the maelstrom of unrelenting hate for the Fallen Princess and any who had a hand in her plans as she came to realize the utensils in her hands had managed to get themselves crushed into gnarled balls of silver. Lorelai's face went white as a sheet and hastily tried to hide the evidence of her faux pas by stuffing it inside her armor.

The only signs of her indiscretions now disposed of she rested her gauntlet clad hands neatly on her lap and turned to humbly address the head of the table. "Pardon me Lady Eleanor, but might I ask what your intentions will be while Lord Jessi and Lady Fei are otherwise indisposed of?"

Though the morning sun had only just come up but a few moments ago to cast it's warming rays on the world a certain somebody was already out and about. Looking like something out of a far away country land Axon was busy walking about the streets and roads of Orello he seemed to be without a care in the world. His hands tucked away in his pockets, a warm smile on his face, and a friendly word for any unlucky soul that drifted too close.

It was in those very streets that an elderly woman seemed to be in distress with a broken down merchant cart. Without missing a beat he waltzed on over to introduce himself, " 'Ello Ma'am, seem to be in a bit of a stitch. Name's Axon, mind if I offer a hand of help?" His jovial tone and general joyous demenour radiating in his words.

"Please if you'd be so kind deary. I just need to fit the new wheel." The woman spoke out gesturing to an intact wheel not a few feet away. The real source of the problem being a cracked wheel well that made the whole circle into more of an oval.

Without a word Axon stepped up and took his hands out of his pockets, cracking his knuckles he took a firm grip on the cart to hoist it up. To be honest it wasn't all that heavy, wools and knits from the local sheep stock kept the cart packed with her goods and stock, but it was still not something he'd like to hold up all day. His muscled showing on his bare arms as for some reason Axon wore very baggy trousers with two belts, while his upper body garb was only a vest that left his arms bare. A rather odd choice of fashion, but to each is his own.

With the cart suspended the woman went to work at replacing the wheel. Then before long it was back and in proper working order, "Thank you deary. There must be some way I can repay you." She spoke out, slightly gesturing towards her cart as if to say she'd be willing to make an offer.

"No need. Just glad I could help is all!" Axon piped out cheerfully, putting his hands back in his pockets, "I hope ya'll have some good fortunes to make some better ones!" He finished only to wave goodbye and be on his way, after all he did have a reason for being in this small town instead of being back at Infinitum. Rumor had it a certain group of folks were back in town.

It was then that he found a rather familiar chateau said to be owned by a one Eleonor. Walking up to the door he began to wrap his knuckles on the beautifully crafted door speaking up to say, "Hello! Anybody home? I work for Yggdasil! I kinda want to talk!" Knocking a few more times before patiently waiting to see if he'd be afforded a response.

~Ruxen~

“You know, I’m starting to think you’re enjoying this a little too much. You should sell yourself some pills to cure your stupidity,” Ruxen growled, rolling her eyes at Mikoto’s antics. She dodged an arrow before snapping yet another out of the air with her jaws. She crushed the wooden projectile between her teeth while still trying to back up.

The main Fae, who was now being occupied with Mikoto’s charms, frowned before lashing out with a knife. As he struck for Mikoto’s face, Ruxen leapt up and clenched his arm in her jaws and biting down hard. He gave a cry of pain, eager to throw the Beastkin off. Ruxen made sure to give him a few extra chews for his troubles before finally letting go and shoving Mikoto to the side.

“Are you done being a stupid fucking idiot you stupid fucking idiot?!?” she hissed with hot breath. Grumbling, she bit into the back of Mikoto’s shirt and forcibly dragged her away from the area. She could feel the circulating power coming off of Chen in waves, the power of the Green Relic coming to life and she did not want to stick around when that blew.

Once again the leader of the group frowned, near-growling at Chen’s words. In a fluid motion, he loaded an arrow and aimed it at the boy. To him, he was just a youth who had no idea of the power he possessed. With the Yellow Relic in the leader’s possession, defeat would not come so easily.

Back in the ruins of Arcadia, the creature continued to stare at the gathered group with a beady gaze. It was obvious now that if they wanted a chance to get to the temple and hunt for treasure, they would have to cross this river eventually. That would mean dealing with this creature in some form or another.

Away from that, two individuals would be sent to the same place. Young Evie and Lavlene, both sent by their respective employers, were told to follow Asgard’s group closely in the regions of Rivenwood. For what purpose…that was for them to know.

God's Shattering

Eleonor

"What I would like to do?" Eleonor (who seemed to be even more young looking than usual, no doubt because of the effects of Vladimir) repeated Lorelai's question, absentmindedly, as she considered its implications. For the first time in ages, Eleonor had the chance to do whatever she wished to do instead of what she needed to do. The weight of such novelty was heavy on the knight's mind and, without thinking, Eleonor said the first thing that came to her head, "If possible, I would like to see my sister..."

Only once the words were spoken, did Eleonor stop and noticed what she said, a dash of red graced Eleonor's pale cheeks as she was taken by embarrassment. "I-I'm sorry. I guess that I never told you this, did I, Fei? You have an aunt, actually, we are twins... I just never found a way to tell you this, since Sol is, well... a thief. Sol might as well know something about what's happening, since she gets into all kinds of trouble. If you cross paths with her, I'd like you to tell her that I want to see her again one of these days, as myself and not as Asgard."

"Anyway, how abou-" The sound of the calling coming from the door interrupted Eleonor as she was trying to change subjects to something less contrived. In fact, it surprised Eleonor, who wasn't expecting any guests, especially so soon in the morning. Perhaps, it was someone of the garrison trying to get Eleonor to do something? Didn't they know that Eleonor was on official leave to recover her health? Burdening her with work was expressly prohibited until she was fully recovered. Knowing that it was most likely something like this, Eleonor regarded Lorelay with a smile as she asked, "Hmm... who could that be? Could you go there and look, Lorelai, my dear? If it is someone from the Garrison, please tell them that I am not here to work."

Mikoto Kanzaki

"Hey, hold the teeth! There's no need to chew me like this, Ruxy. They're the ones who picked a bone with us." Mikoto complained while being dragged away by Ruxen.

"You might not believe me, Chenny Boy, but everything has a price, it's always a matter of knowing how much and what's the currency in question." Mikoto said, straightening her clothes right after Ruxen tugged her rather violently, as if the blue furry didn't knew that it was all under Mikoto's control. Then again, there was a relic at stake, maybe something out of the ordinary might happen, "Anyway, do as you think is best, Chenny Boy. A good merchant knows when to call off a deal as much as it knows when to press one, in the meanwhile, just do me a favor, and..."

Mikoto retrieved a couple of magic talismans from her pocket, anyone wise enough would know that they were in truth magic grenades, and flung them toward Chen, "Watch your back while you have a fit, will you?" Mikoto said as the talismans blew away an archer that had sneaked behind Chen and was about to shoot him in the back. "Being entranced by the big figures and forgetting about the fine print is the number one beginner mistake. I guess you need to chill out, Chenny Boy."

"Anyway, while we wait for Chenny Boy to blow his steam. Say it, Ruxy, would you like to have some lamb? I know a place right 'round the corner that has the best lamb on beer sauce in the land. Golden Sheep's the name, the owner there owes me, it'll be like an All you can Eat Buffet." Mikoto said, casually flipping another talisman to blow a fae that tied to sneak attack her with a crooked looking knife.

Sienna Aquarian & Linea Aquarian

"Hey, Alex, Tori, do you guys have any plan to deal with that thing over there?" Sienna said as Linea and her approached Alex and Tori.

"Avoiding it might be best, Oneesama. We don't know the creature's powers." Linea comlimented. "Tori and Alex, might be able to reach the temple, if we lure it the other way."

"That's not that bad an idea, Linea. We can do tat if you guys are ok with it and meet up again at the temple's entrance in half an hour, is it ok?" Sienna sought for confirmation before putting any plans in motion, yet she gripped her tome firmly, feeling the rising tension in the air.

They were so close to it, there was no way that Aquarian Twins would let a random creep steal the chance to explore an untouched ruin from the old days, not if they could do anything about it, that is.

Chen glared at the leader and then sighed. "I gave you a chance." Wooden spikes suddenly burst from the ground, impaling multiple Fae, leaving them hanging from the tips of the spikes. He heard Mikoto warn him about watching his back and he nodded. A rookie mistake he didn't plan on making often. Chen took a few deep breaths and he focused on the environment around him.

He pointed to the leader with his sword and smiled. Then he began. Chen rushed towards the leader, decapitating a few Fae who tried to get in his way and actually slicing one arrow in half as it rushed towards his throat. As he reached the halfway mark towards the leader, he sprung his earlier trap. He used the vines from earlier and they suddenly wrapped themselves around the leaders legs, trying to topple him.

Lorelai

The Abyssal Knight sat in wide eyed amazement at being privy to so many astonishing and intimate secrets of Eleanor's. She was well aware this was directed towards Fei, being Eleanor's progeny and heir, and that Lorelai was only the help here. Invisible and unnoticed, hearing everything yet never speaking what rings through the hallowed halls they serve. This was fine for the Abyssal Knight, better to be present and invisible then never there at all.

While she would keep everything heard in the strictest of confidence, and Imperator only knew that she was beyond reproach in preserving Imperial interests, it didn't mean that Lorelai wouldn't be acting in the interest of Lady Eleanor and thus the Imperium at large. Lady Eleanor had expressed an interest in reconnecting with her sibling, and while Fai and Jessi may come across her on their travels, Lorelai would use her Imperial connections and scour any reports for a thief bearing a resemblance to Eleanor as well as the name 'Sol'.

A knocking at the door drew the attention of Lady Eleanor who promptly asked her handmaiden to dismiss them so she could continue her convalescence. A small smile formed on her face at being called 'dear' so casually. "Of course, Lady Eleanor. I will ensure the garrison does not disturb your leave. By your leave, milady."

Lorelai stood and bowed deeply to her idol before doing similar for Fai and Jessi, then taking her leave to address the knock at the chateau door. Two maids flanked the doorway, swords at their hips on Lorelai's insistence. Lax security was not something she would tolerate, even if she had to train the entire staff into a fighting force worthy of the Imperial Army. That they shared her respect for Lady Eleanor only made training the Crimson Militia all the more fulfilling.

Nodding in satisfaction at their poise and dedication, Lorelai continued onwards and opened the entranceway to find the other Imperial Agent. Luckily for the both of them she couldn't have heard his initial proclamation of allegiance or Lorelai may have been testy. "If you are from the garrison I must report that Lady Eleanor is on leave and will not be acting in an official capacity at this time. Otherwise please state your business and I will attempt to accommodate you to the best of my ability."

Axon took his peace waiting as patiently as he could so as not to aggravate the situation. After all Asgard was a Guardian and given what he had to say, who he worked for, and what-not. Pacing slightly and shifting his weight from one leg to the other, passing time before he heard a sound at the door. Turning around to see it opening to reveal a woman in dark armor.

Before he could get a word out she spoke up speaking of Garrisons and leave. Though once she finished he chimed back up in a cheery tone, "Oh hello there miss. I am well aware that Lady Asgard is resting and all that but I really do need to speak with her. I must admit it does involve the Garrison, but not in the way you might think... I wish I could say more but this is really just for her ears. I swear I don't mean to bring her back into work or even harass her. It's about my boss, Yggdrasil." He finishes, trying to avoid telling the new woman about exactly why he's there so as to help keep everything hush hush about what he had to say. All trying to save face of the parties involved, though it may have painted him in a sour light especially considering he flashed his badge of office, showing that without a doubt he served Yggdrasil and had rank himself.

"I know this must seem really bad, but I assure you what I don't mean to cause trouble here." He finished taking his hands to show her his hand hands. It was also at this point he showed that he actually carried no weapons. There was no sword at his hip, no bow on his back, nothing that could be used to assault another. Even his tome seemed to be missing, though he did have a over-the-shoulder bag most traveler's have for rations and traveling supplies.

All in all his appearance wasn't one of aggression and more of blind and absolute aloofness. As for the guise of a spy he already is one being his position and state with Yggdrasil, but to literally walk up and confess to being a spy he is either the worst spy alive or the most cocky spy alive. Though judging by his attitude he either doesn't care or really jsut wants to talk.
