[IC] Pokémon Hoenn: α and Ω

The top eight were shown on the Jumbotron Dawn was in the first slot, followed by Shiranui. Liam was in the fifth slot. The eight were shuffled up. Obsidian, who popped out of his ball on his own after Liam entered the green room had been watching the monitor to see everything. Liam and tied a band around Spoink's arm so people would know it wasn't wild. He was watching the appeals amazed by what was happening.

Dawn and Piplup bested a girl with Tropius
Liam and Pidgeot bested a trainer with Shiftree.

Than there was the battle between Dawn and Liam.
"Piplup! Spotlight!" She tossed Peplum's ball into the air and the tiny penguin emerged and landed puffing out his chest.
"Pidgeot! Let's go!" Liam called.
"Whirlpool!" Dawn commanded. Peplum held his hands up in the air and conjured a whirlpool of water. He than tossed it at Pidgeot.
"Air cutter." Liam called. A sickle of wind shot forth and sliced the water in half, taking out a bit of Dawn's Points with it.
"Spinning Drill Peck!" Piplup jumped into the air and began to spin as he rocketed toward Pidgeot.
"Mirror Move!" Liam called. Pidgeot began to do the same maneuver, but mirrored. They collided and Piplup, being smaller was knocked down and Dawn lost more points.
Dawn had an idea as she ordered peplum to use Ice Beam. Peplum pivoted in place and froze most of the arena, including Pidgeot. Liam lost a few points.
"Now, Pidgeot! Mega Evolve and use Twister!" Liam called. The power of Mega Evolution shattered the ice around the bird. Twister shot shards of ice back at Piplup, who managed to comically evaded all of the shards.
"Hydro Pump!" Dawn ordered. Peplum sprayed the high pressure water.
"Air Slash!" Liam called. Both Pokémon were hit and both sides lost a few points.
"Bide!" Dawn called.
"Quick Attack!" Liam called. Pidgeot got the hit in before Bide started, dropping Dawn's points a bit further. The timer clicked down to :50.
"Do a loop de loop and Roost!" Liam called. Pidgeot did the maneuver and perched on a beam of ice that the Ice beam made before. Midget's health went up, while Dawn's went down a small amount. Peplum stood there gathering energy and Liam ordered a Tailwind. The high winds pushed Piplup back a few inches, and nothing more. Liam lost a few points of his own with this, but it was worth it. Bide launched but fizzled, cutting a huge chunk out of Dawn's points as the timer read :10.
"Corkscrew Brave Bird!" Liam called. Pidgeot did the move, sped up by the Tailwind. Dawn lost as as the timer hit :00, Liam's mauve depleted her points and KO'd Piplup. Liam was named the winner. Once backstage, Liam went over to give Piplup a berry, and Piplup, being the proud Pokémon that he is, refused to take it until Dawn told him to. Obsidian bounced over to Liam was was very excited by what he had seen.

Shiranui's quarter final battle was over very quick thanks to the classic Rain Dance/Thunder combo taking out a Swablu compliments of Hoshi. In the semi-final, Hoshi was against a Kirlia and through showing off a colour change with Reflect Type, a flash of Dazzling Gleam and launching a big psychic shuriken with Psyshock, the Starmie won Shiranui the other spot in the final.

He had seen Liam's battles and knew Pidgeot would be a formidable foe, but like any good ninja he had some tricks of his own up his sleeve.

Liam took his spot for the final while Obsidian watched backstage wide eyed.

Shiranui took his spot and after Vivian recited her final battle preliminary commentary, the timer started to tick. "Hoshi, I choose you!" He opened Hoshi's Poké Ball and stars flew out, coalescing into his Starmie.

After some training Lance was walking and saw some people on some bikes. He had completely forgot to pick his up while in mauville. He called out Zhonya , "Zhonya use teleport and go to mauville." Lance grabbed on to Zhonya and they teleported.

Liam called out Pidgeot. "Air Slash!" Liam called.

"Trick Room!" Pidgeot slashed the air and Hoshi was struck by the ripping move, costing Shiranui some points. The Starmie used its mysterious powers to create a zone around the hall that made the battlefield look like the ocean floor. The zone also altered the physics of the battle. "Zoro would be proud of that one," Shiranui mused to himself.

Liam smirked and called for mirror move, which distorted things back to how they should have been.

Shiranui lost more points. "Alright, Hoshi, use Gravity!" Hoshi intensified the gravity on the stage, causing Pidgeot to fall down.

"Steel Wing/Brave Bird combo!" Liam called. Pidgeot went to start the combo, in attempt to put a decent amount of damage on the opponent.

"Confuse Ray and follow with Minimize!" Hoshi got hit by the combo and suffered some damage while Shiranui lost more points. The Starmie let off a flash of bright light before shrinking in size to try and somewhat counter the effects of the high gravity.

Pidgeot was confused. Liam called for Foresight to counteract the minimization. Pidgeot hit itself in confusion and Liam lost some points.

"Hoshi, Ice Beam!" The Starmie's core started glowing cyan as it fired a lightning-like beam of ice energy.

Pidgeot, in its confused stupor evaded the ice attack.
"Foresight!" Pidgeot snapped out of confusion and was able to counteract the minimize, resulting in a small drop in Shiranui's points.

"Counter with Magic Coat!" Hoshi radiated a glow that reflected Pidgeot's Foresight right back.

Liam's points dropped a bit more. "Mega Evolve and use Hurricane!" Liam called as he activated the Keystone. Light emanated from the Mega Stone on Pidgeot's anklet and from Liam's wristband. Pidgeot was enveloped in light and Mega Evolved before executing the stated attack.

"Hoshi, Roll with it! Use a Swift/Rapid Spin combination!" The Starmie started spinning very fast as the wind lifted it into the air even under high gravity, releasing a Swift attack in the form of stars that were carried by the wind. Hoshi may have received some damage from the buffeting wind, but it wasn't fazed. The audience was wowed by the starry mini-cyclone.

Liam lost a bit more points. "Heat Wave/Steel Wing combo!" Liam called. Pidgeot exhaled a ball of fire into the column of wind. It may not have done much damage to Hoshi, but now those stars were on fire, and resembled shooting stars as they fell. As stars came close to Pidgeot, they would be knocked back with powerful smacks of the wings.

"Hydro Pump and follow it up with Thunder!" Hoshi fired jets of water out of all ten of its limbs that extinguished the flames and mixed with the wind, creating a mini-tempest. The Starmie added to the effect by releasing a Thunder attack, turning the cyclone into a mini-thunderhead. The gravity returned to normal.

"Mirror Move!" Liam called. This caused another bolt of lighting to come down, this one on Hoshi, who would have a harder time avoiding the super effective hit since it is surrounded by water.
