Places, people and events are as important as you want to make them: don't feel pressured to follow a set path if you don't want to. Want to ignore a character completly? Go exploring some random dark corner of the world? Perhaps throw Reinham into the sea and run off to terrorise the land? Perhaps a little out of character at this early stage, but go for it if that's what you want to do!
