History: Born in the early years after the formation of Kievan Rus', Viktor was the third son of a captain of the fleet. As a young boy, he spent much of his life on ships with his father and brothers, and grew up feeling at home on the water. When he came of age, he took a more active role in the navy of his fatherland. When Prince Igor of Kiev's fleet attacked the Byzantine Empire during the invasion of Bithynia in 941AD, Viktor was twenty years of age, and was proud to sail and fight in his Prince's name. When the fleet was decimated by the Byzantine's own, Viktor's ship was destroyed, and he washed ashore, almost drowned on a beach off the coast of the black sea, in modern day Turkey.
It was on this beach that he was discovered by a beautiful woman, with the face of a young lady, but the wisdom in her eyes of a being more ancient than any Empire. She saved Viktor's life, at the price of his mortality and his homeland. Viktor lived in the Byzantine Empire for many decades after this, living and working in Constantinople under many names, in many different capacities. At different times he was a general, a blacksmith, an advisor, a farmer, a captain of the guard, under many different Emperors.
Viktor left the grand city of Constantinople shortly before its fall to the Fourth Crusade in 1204, and travelled Europe for many years, before eventually settling in England in the late 16th Century, during the reign of Queen Elizabeth I. He returned to the seas once more during the Spanish Armada, serving under Sir John Hawkins, in an overwhelming English Victory. It was nearly a century later that he finally settled in London, finding more of his own kind, and joining the House of Malkavian, where he rose steadily through the ranks, until eventually he was ranked just below the House's Elder, a position he treasured and respected greatly.
