Actually, why wouldn't Quantus's time magic be resisted? It's magic that slows down or freezes time, which isn't a magic that is wholly destructive, so...nani sore? The concept behind Legendary Resistance is that Arata can only be slowed or stopped through a violent, destructive force, and I'm pretty sure that slowing down time wouldn't actually hurt at all.

@Ashifili If I were Vocab, I'd just toss a brick and speed it up to mach 5 (yes, exaggeration), but that's just me.

In general, the better you roleplay the more leash I'm willing to give (because I'm the hard ass between me and Graf and will PM him before he does anything usually) XD

@Ashifili reason being, he isn't doing anything to you, but rather your temporal presence.

He alters your very time stream for effects, which is very hard to counter unless you know it is coming, and even then its tricky.

@RabidAnubis no, he would throw a brick and alter time so it hits him a nanosecond later xD

@Vocab Can you explain what exactly a temporal presence is? You keep on saying this and I'm really confused.

@Ashifili If someone was to put an unstoppable ogre in a time-lock, despite how resistant he is to magic or similar methods, ddo you think not he would be inevitably stopped?

If you watched Trinity Seven, think that Quantus locks Arata(lol, even teh name is the same) out of time. Would he be able to resist that?

What Vocab said xD

@RabidAnubis I just use it as a simple term for how someone or something moves through time, and their presence within both a timeline and a timestream.

Well I won't go against you saying your decision is wrong, and I understand now that you have it under surveillance :)

I was just concerned when I read the cs that it seemed very depending on wording for effect.

And very dependant on having either smart opponents or at least two of rather simular strength.

But it also don't point certain things out...

Like if he was going to fight his powers limit to the strongest opponent... But dosen't specifify how it does so.

It sounds like an effect that could be misused as long as he can just select any target 'player wise' as the strongest opponent.

Like he fought against anyone and select the headmaster as an oppont to rise to his strength. Steam roll any student and abort before assaulting the head master.

Ans his strengths seem to be slightly more than his opponent, meaning if someone could destroy an mountain he could do the same as long as he fought then. With his un magical fist.

But that can just be me understand it incorrectly.

@Iatos Primarily for the same reason I can't post "IRAVIS BURNS ALL OF THE ACADEMY TO THE GROUND WITHIN THE TIME OF A SINGLE BLINK" because Graf will come over and slap me XD

Secondly, he does have a real cap on his power. His total power of 1000 wouldn't match up to the director, so even if his seal is lifted it wouldn't defeat A.

Oi.

Forgetting about Sorcha are you? You gotta deal with our resident goddess of Lightning before you do anything with that bird xD

If anything, you might have to fight them both xP

Also, I return to my computer. Will work on posts in a bit.

No because the time lock is magic induced? For the same reason that teleportation wouldn't work even if it's, "Oh, I'm teleporting the entire area and not him specifically."

@Iatos
It said limitless in the same sentence that it said that his physical form would explode into gorey bits if he did go limitless mode. So...uh...yeah, he dies when he goes over 9000. Yay.

That being said, that whole thing about 'selecting the headmaster as his opponent in every fight' is probably something that could be done, but he doesn't do that, because Arata wants to have a fun, hard-fought fight. It's a self-inflicted curse for a reason.

Of course, there's people who ignore personality in favor of winning, but I generally try to avoid doing that.

@GrafRoy Zeppeli
But if this non-destructive magic is something that effects him or his presence or whatever...why wouldn't he be able to resist it? Still not really understanding what you're getting at here, so clarification might be needed on this subject matter after all. I've never read or watched Trinity Seven, but a quick scan from the wiki showed that the Arata over there can only dispel the magic of those that are magically weaker than him in exchange for being able to dispel literally everything, while Legendary Resistance only works against non-damaging effects, in exchange for allowing him to ignore such effects without having any magical knowledge of his own.

So yeah, could you elaborate on which situations regarding non-destructive magical effects would bypass Legendary Resistance?
