Thats Kasy up, despite Real Lifes best efforts to stop me.

She's finished with the Kitchen scene now.

And trust me... RL tried everything from what he told me on skype! XD

Dextro food concerns are pretty valid. Though I had no idea vorcha were dextro too.

Indeed, though this is why we need two cooks onboard really. One for Levo, and another for Dextro though... Are asari and drell levo or dextro? It never really states in the game either way, but I assume levo due to fact they eat similar foods. Krogans I believe are levo, though they could likely eat anything and still be alive... XD

Tonka would probably just get really bad diarrhea and destroy the bathroom. Though it seems he has similar plans for anybody unlucky enough to eat whatever he's cooking up. Is anybody gonna stick around for what he's making?

For Asari I assume levo as well, but I think certain aspects of that don't pose the same problem for them as it would for others.

Vellios is not trusting anyone but Kasy, when he realizes who she is, to cook his meals. So, he'll likely use what little credits he's got and grab a bit to eat while he's out. It's a lot less dangerous really compared to Tonka's cooking it sounds like!

Considering humans have been isolated while Asari, Turian, Krogan and others have been in close range with one another or at least interacting, you think they would have similar biological needs. OR have a food made that they all could eat without issues.

Dex had some take out before she left and she has her ~secret~ snack compartment.

I would assume that too since it wasn't distinctly pointed out. The games just presented it as that everybody was levo except when the note was made in regards to our dear Turians and Quarians. Which is weird I think but could probably find it in the codex.

Right though? As massive and expansive the games were some details are maddeningly skipped.

forum.bioware.com/topic/319407-dextrol.. I don't know how accurate this guy's science is, but I do know that food and nutrients are a lot more complicated than one would think. I imagine that it's just hard to create non-Earth sentient species, since it's so heavily dependent upon the environment they evolve in.

I personally like that aspect really though it would still likely give them a serious case of diarrhea because their bodies are trying to get rid of the excess, useless stuff that they can't digest or use. Which is a biological function. Nice article there though scrolling through the posts, I noted the mention of Garrison not needing a special wine in ME2?!? 0_o I don't recall that but likely don't remember as it's been a while since I played the game.

The thread is an interesting read, the writers did their best to cover their bases when created new species. I can only imagine what will be waiting for us in Andromeda :>.

It could easily be a toss-up between the writers not knowing how amino-acids exactly work, or they did know and just decided to change the rules for ME to make things more interesting.

Yeah, in ME2 the end of his romance arc has him buying Shep a cheap bottle of wine as part of his awkward attempt at seducing her. "The best I could get on a vigilante's salary". He apparently only got one bottle, so if the whole amino-acid thing is correct one of them wasn't going to be drinking that night. It gets a nice call-back in ME3 when he does it again, but this time he can afford the good stuff.

From the Codex, because I'm a dork who actually enjoyed going through the Codex when playing the game, the only two dextro-based species are the turians and the quarians, everyone else is levo-based. You'd get horrifically sick or outright die if you tried eating the wrong food.

Anywho, back to work I go!

From what I remember, if you were lucky then nothing would happen, but yeah, you'd most likely have a pretty severe allergic reaction. And not just to the food either. Mordin did warn Shepard not to "ingest" XD

@Thundercrash I was totally thinking about Mordin when I was writing that.

I think Dex would be down for something like that, if Serena wouldn't accept any kind of payment except a game or two of chess she'd be down to learn. Dex has an eye for detail and anything to help her bond with her crewmates she takes the opportunity.
