A Very Pleased Miyu in the City

"SPARK RISE RED!"

The four orbs of red light that had formed around her crackled and shot forward. Each struck a wolf, and sent the terrible beasts whining and crying out as they tumbled to the ground. She saw them rise, shortly afterwards, returning to the cloud. After a few moments, Miyu put one foot firmly forward and pointed upwards.

"That's what you get for messing with... with..." she paused for a moment. She had to have some kind of... catchy name! Yeah, something cute and catchy! "... Cheerful and Happy-Go-Lucky Witch, Miyu-chan!"

Her heart was hammering in her chest, but she grinned. It was hard not to grin when she had just used actual magic to shoot terrible hellhounds right in the face like that, right? The tiny blonde girl's grin grew wider as she turned on her heel to face the others. It certainly looked like she'd driven away the wolf monsters for the moment, at least! That meant they could plan, and get moving, and stuff like that!

"I think I've earned even more candy for that, haven't I? Ufufu~" said Miyu, placing her hands on her hips and leaning forward. She glanced back at the clouds for a moment. "... We should probably leave first before you decide how to praise me, though."

Takeyoshi Sakujima- 落ちている犬を見ている

"...Whoa."

The sight of the hellhounds being blown away was certainly... Something. The tengu magician peered off the edge of the building, watching as the bodies grew smaller and smaller until... They landed on some poor sap's head. Well. That... Looked painful. Wincing at the sight, Takeyoshi turned away and sighed.

"Okay. SO. Our wrestler left us, and we are now on top of a building. Said building can also be scaled by those hellhounds. I wholeheartedly agree with that notion; let's get the hell out of here. Once we get somewhere safer or when this blows over, whatever comes first, I'll start on looking for some money so you can get that candy you're wishing for. Anyways, we gotta move. Sorry 'bout this again, by the way, but it's a lot safer than jumping from building to building."

With that, Takeyoshi quickly hooked Miyu's arms again as he took off, flying away from the ominous black cloud on the streets behind them. The building they were on seemed to be relatively tall in comparison to every other one nearby, so the tengu opted to attempt gliding as far as he could to the city's outskirts... Well, assuming that he could make it.

"Yeah, uh... Don't let go. It's looking to be a long drop down; I can trust you to shoot anything out for our blood down, right? I'm pretty sure they can't catapult animals at our faces..."

Takeyoshi's voice trailed off as he glanced backwards at the mess they were leaving behind and sighed.

"Seriously, though, that's one hell of a mess we got dropped into. You think we'll be fine? Think we can meet up with the masked fighter again?"

With a weak attempt at idle chitchat, Takeyoshi let out a sigh as he glanced down at the ground.

"It's a shame, though; seems like the place would be pretty interesting to explore if the gates to Hell hadn't been opened."

Dragon Rayo was unhappy with the results of his heroic act. It seemed like the rush of people was never-ending. He would save one person and two other people would show up. It was madness and the luchador was getting no where. There was a sense of accomplishment deep down for he was saving some of the civilians. He hoped they were not too angry for being man-handled. The options were to be thrown by his muscular self onto a roof or be eaten by the hell hounds; this was most likely the safer option.

Rayo watched the giant cloud grow closer towards him. He decided he had done the best he could and he was going to have to ditch the rest of the unfortunate runners. It was an awful feeling, but the luchador could not afford to be devoured by that cloud. He was about to leave until he noticed three dogs coming straight at him. They no doubt would get a free bite if he turned his back. The luchador sighed, he was about to go Michael Vick on these bitches.

"Beat them and leave afterwards..." He told himself. The luchador punched his fists together; this was the first time he had activated his lightning skills and the effect was beautiful. Sparks of yellow emanated from his hands; the sound of electricity flowing off of his palms was realistic and soothing. The fighter prepared his stance and waited for the perfect moment for the dogs to reach arm's length. Once he decided, he put his strength into his lighting punches. "Let's see if your gas is flammable!"

Wannabe Hero Ranca Blom

...Assassins? Well, Ranca knew that she wasn't an assassin at least... And none of the others seemed all that assassin-y to her by the looks of it. Then again, wouldn't it make sense for an assassin to not look assassin-y? It would make their job a lot easier if they didn't seem suspicious, after all. But then maybe it was some kind of double-bluff, where they looked non-assassin-y to fool people into thinking they're actually assassins when they really aren't so people don't threaten them.

...Yeah, she was thinking too much again, and risking her brain overheating, but come to think of it... She didn't really know these people at all, did she? Rewinding her memory a bit...

Bright lights. Scrrrrrrreach. Crunch.

...Okay, maybe that was a little too far back, but the first thing she remembered after that... After the weird menu thing... Was waking up surrounded by these people. Hang on, they weren't like her, were they? Right?

"...Um, hang on a moment, um..." Ranca stroked her chin as she pondered for a moment, and in her simplicity she came up with what she believed to be the most obvious thing to do. "I just realized I don't actually know who any of you are. I mean I don't think any of us are assassins, since assassins wear hoods and all... Black hoods I mean, um, not like mine! But um... But um yeah, I think we just need to cool down for a bit..."

She eyed the crazy sword lady as she said this, before turning her gaze to the others.

"...And maybe, I dunno, introduce ourselves? Like I said, name's Ranca Blom!" The hooded girl smiled gormlessly. "Pleased to meet you!"

Orion breathed a sigh of relief as the incredible pain vanished. After that though really everything vanished, like he was in some sort of hypnotized state. After an indeterminate amount of time had passed most of the bewildering haze went away. To be replaced with something that was perhaps far worse. Rather than being chased and eaten alive by FRICKING wolves. He now was a fricking wolf. However this wasn't much time to dwell on this either because he smelled something delightful. Like a mix between delicious meat and the sweetest candies. Before he knew it his claws were extended and he was running, claws sinking into the ground and launching himself forward with more speed. He was so fast, so strong. It took only seconds before his teeth sunk into the smell and dragged it back into the cloud where he'd come from, then he was off again, hunting for the smell again.

Another smell, easily snatched up, but this time he bit into it and drank in the smell. Euphoria. In the blur of pleasure Orion had a moment of clarity. Aw hells. He wanted, needed, to.... Stop being this. But he couldn't, his body was already running forward towards the smell again. Hell. Orion focused, wresting partial control of his body back from that monstrous feeling. He ran forward, faster, faster, faster than he'd ever moved any time. He ran past the smell, so much of it. In moments of lucidity he could see the people running from him, screaming in terror, exuding that wonderful scent. Orion ignored it all, pushing forward. The excuse he gave the feeling was that he was running towards more of the smell. The rush of the wind in his fur, his claws digging into the ground and the odd person that didn't move out of the way fast enough. In reality, he was hoping to escape it, by running as far and fast away from it as he could. This was not how round two was supposed to go.

Rayo was successful with landing the punches. The lighting was ignited and the attacks were a beautiful sight; sparks had flown and the sound of electricity screeching was unbelievable. The luchador felt as if this was surreal, he could not accept lighting was emanating from his hands. The punches against the hound's skin created a surge of energy to be blasted inside them.

The fighter could tell the hounds' were suffering from the electricity traveling through their body. Their blood was boiling from the heat and their bodies began giving off smoke. Rayo could begin smelling the awful smell of burning. The sight was not wondeful, but he was glad the were not resistant to his punches. They collapsed to the floor and kept shaking vibrantly. It was then that all movement had stopped, but the sound of electricity could still be heard from their bodies.

Rayo felt a bit proud, but disgusted. He had no time to view the moment as the gas cloud was traveling down the street and he did not want to become dog chow. The action of leaving felt dishonest; however, Rayo did all that he could by throwing a portion of people on the rooftops. Rayo activated his jumping skills and leaped toward the nearest building.

As he was climbing, he eyed the situation below him. The cloud had showed no signs of stopping and the people just kept getting enveloped. The screams and howls had not stopped. Rayo gritted his teeth and kept going; he figured running away from the cloud and the hounds was the best option. He'll need to figure out how to deal with them during this time.

Eri and the Dunk Lord - ??? minutes to impact

"Wha-?" He said, "Where am I now?"

A quick look around him told him that he was in a forest. That didn't really help at all because he was pretty sure wherever he was he'd never been there, and on reflection having a look around wouldn't have helped anyway because he still only had about 8 minutes worth of memories now.

"At least this time it looks like they're not letting me off so easily..." He said with a sigh.

He wasn't quite sure what had happened there but apparently he'd died again. He didn't know where the other person who had jumped in immediately had gone or the other people there who were also crushed immediately. But at the very least, he felt like there was something that wanted them alive for the time being.

"Hmmm?" He said, his ears perking up.

He could hear some voices from somewhere else in the forest.

"Maybe I should go to them..." He said.

Meanwhile, the shooting star recalibrated and shot in a different direction. Circumstances called for a change of plans, but fortunately its altitude allowed for some adjustment. Even if it were too low there would be an intervention, and even if it hit the ground without finding its target, there would be a way for it to end up in their hands. This meeting had been in planning for a very long time now, there was no way it would fail.

Somewhere...

Well, there she was reborn... again. Sonia simply lied there in that barren room as she reflected the newest series of events. First, for all she knew her "friends" pretty much left her for dead, and for damn sure she was the only one who tried to put up a fight. Cowards. Second, it turned out death really wasn't final anymore, even if she died again she still wasn't actually dead, this was comforting to know. Third, it looked like she got to keep her stuff that of course being her shield and sword. Through the fighting, however, the shield was practically destroyed and was well beyond use. She opted just to toss it away. Her sword somehow made it out alright, if anything it was testament to it's original craftsmanship, shame it was nothing more than rusty scrap metal.

Sonia sat herself up and stared at the open door. This time she was alone, but that didn't bother her, especially considering the absolute disaster her last party ended up being so maybe she could hold off on finding new friends for the time being. With nothing else to do the catgirl finally pushed herself off the ground and made her way to that door, here goes her new life. Again.

Outside the scene was both terrible, and just confusing. The street was a mess, she had no idea what happened here, but something went down. What really took her off guard was how healthy the people looked, a little dazed, although otherwise they appeared to be fine for the most part. Sonia was curious, she wanted answers mostly because she'll be hanging around for a while... you know given another lion doesn't come charging along to bite her head off. Again. For the moment she started wandering around, with sword in hand which hopefully no one would mind her being openly armed. Maybe she can find someone or something worthwhile eventually.

Takeyoshi Sakujima- 空で飛びている

With the first rays of the dawn shining upon his back, Takeyoshi was... Well, far from pleased. The whole 'almost getting killed again' mess was one thing, and he definitely had reason to be angry at whatever the hell caused that. At the same time, however, there was something heavier weighing on his mind.
...
And no, it wasn't the little girl he was carrying around with him.

"Seriously? It's morning already? My sleep schedule's going to be so thoroughly screwed over now..." he complained, gliding onto the ground near a small building. Though it was nowhere near as grandiose as the ones near that mess of death and destruction earlier, it at least seemed to not be completely decrepit. In all honesty, it probably meant that they had gone from the city's inner circle to what could be equated to the lower-middle class' residential area...

With beads of sweat all over his forehead, the young tengu let go of Miyu and staggered to the nearest wall.

"Heh... Yeah, I'm pretty sure I need to take five. Seriously, my stamina's fuckin' shot," he let out before sinking down against the wall and leaning against it for support. "Once I get enough energy back, we can go look for a place to get money. Or a library or info center of any sort. It'd be foolish to try and make money without either."

Harmonic let out a long sigh, and running a hand through his hair.

"Miss, we'd have probably set on you while you were focused on the other guys, dinosaurs, whatever they were if we wanted your life. I'm not looking to be set on fire in any case."

His relaxation surprised himself. Perhaps it was just his brain being overloaded from the suddenness of all the new information he was receiving, but with the prospect of being lit on fire or cut in half seemingly averted he allowed himself to calm down and process the situation. Apparently, none of the people he woke up around knew each other either. They also, in turn, did not know this woman. On top of this, Harmonic did not know the forest they had been dropped off in. Or the country that was in, or the continent that was on, or the world in which they currently resided. Potentially even a different universe or dimension from his entirely. Dying, in the end, seemed to just be a big pain in the ass.

The smells of the forest filled his nose as he took a deep breath. Definitely different from any that he knew, but pleasant all the same, save for the fading smell of burning flesh. He listened to the enthusiastic idiot introduce herself, taking a second to look over his companions as she talked. Was this really his Harem? Or did he have yet to even earn that? Did he even want that if he had it?

Well, it was too much to bother with now. Scratching the back of his head sheepishly, he extended a hand to the woman in Red.

"In truth, it seems like we're all strangers in a strange land. I do knot know who you are, or where we are, nor who these others are. Perhaps we're victims of magic or fate, but my name's Harmonic."

Magic, he certainly knew this world had it. He was well aware of his own abilities, and he was fairly certain science hadn't lit the dinosaur-man thing on fire. It seemed the most reasonable explanation for the current predicament. As he held out his hand he also looked to the others present and nodded, hoping his name served as an introduction to the rest of them too.

Orion - 空で飛びている

Orion lay on the ground panting. Well. He wasn't dead. Define pro. He wasn't surrounded by bodies and couldn't remember killing anyone. All good things. Oh yeah, and he wasn't a giant bloodthirsty wolf anymore. On the con side however, Orion could still feel the wolf inside of him. Like it was taking a nap and waiting for its chance to try to eat people again. Hopefully it wouldn't wake up anytime soon because Orion had no intention of feeding it. Or ever, if it never woke up he could live with that as well. Orion slowly stood up and flexed all his limbs experimentally, including his tiny dragon ones, everything seemed to be in order. He let out a sigh of relief. Well, things could've gone worse.

The next question was his course of action. He'd failed that quest thingy so he didn't get to ask any questions. He had nothing with him besides the clothes on his back. Orion figured the best thing to do would be to try to find the other people who'd been in that room, maybe they were alive, and better yet, had some idea of what was going on. However he had no idea where he was, much less anyone else. At least he didn't stand out too much, many of the 'people' here had far more... Additions than he did. Orion resigned himself to wandering around and hoping for the best.

Maybe he could find a newspaper, or a homeless shelter, or something. Did this place have those? He yawned as he began walking in a random direction, he could take a nap right here and it wasn't he had anything that could be stolen, but he still wanted to do something productive before he took a nap. Plus these weirdos might take slaves or something, and he didn't want to get mixed up with any of that. Something snagged at his memory, a luchador with lightning fists. Gawds his first day here was weird as all heck. Least if he saw a luchador with lightning fists he would know he was on the right track.

Miyu, Rather Worn out in the City

For a while, Miyu didn't respond. It was rather quickly apparent that the reason for this was that, in spite of her not exactly being pleased about being picked up again, she couldn't really handle the sudden fatigue she'd been hit with and had briefly nodded off. It was only when Takeyoshi put her down that she awoke with a start, sitting and rubbing her eyes. After a few moments, she realized what she had been doing and shot to her feet.

"Before you ask. I wasn't sleeping. Or tired. Or anything like that," Miyu said, quickly, placing her hands on her hips. She watched as the tengu leaned against the wall, looking rather exhausted himself, and raised an eyebrow a little. He still had to get her candy! ... Though, when he was this worn out... getting candy might not have been a good idea... the tiny blonde girl huffed to herself with annoyance. Of course her candy would have to be delayed... but she guessed getting rest was important to him, too. A rather more serious though crossed her mind as she looked back in the direction they'd come from.

"... I hope some people got out of there okay... those stupid dogs shouldn't have been allowed to get to anyone!"

Mimori, Heroics in Action

"... My name is Takahashi Mimori," Mimori introduced herself, eyes remaining mostly on the woman. Thankfully, it seemed that she was no longer intending to fight them. Instead, she was more concerned about their strange circumstances and the things that were going on. At least, until the tendrils appeared... and some sort of strange mob of creatures emerged... Mimori quickly found herself no choice but to run with the others. Still... she hung back as much as she could, swallowing her fear. She had to make sure, after all, that no-one got left behind.

Eventually they reached some kind of... safe haven, and without any hesitation Mimori quickly found some sort of broadsword, with a plain hilt but a decently sharp blade.

She was on guard, even though the woman who had introduced herself as Charlotte said they were safe.

Eri is a hero now, but what about the Dunk Lord?

Finally, the star was in position. The timing was not as well as it would've liked, but it would do. It began its descent even though it wasn't even night. Impact was imminent, nothing would get in the way now...

Eri burst out of the trees, tripped on a root and went flying. He landed on the road flat on his face.

"Hngggg..." When was he going to get a break? It seemed like within a few minutes of him doing something, something would go wrong again.

He struggled onto his feet, teary eyed. He was really tired and he just wanted to be somewhere safe right now. But as it turned out, fate wasn't letting him go yet. The star broke through the clouds, a streak of gold and red across the sky. It angled itself downwards towards Eri, but Eri had his back turned. He wasn't going to see this coming.

It hit him square in the back, sending him flying like a ragdoll. It bounced off his back, smashing into and rebounding off of a tree behind him, flew up and hit a low flying eagle before acring back downwards and dropping on his head just as he hit the ground again. Tears started streaming down his face as the ball rolled to a stop close by to him.

"Why.........?" He said.

Tori noticed that the tension had not eased between the woman and the group, despite their efforts. Tori was still too nervous to say anything. She briefly wondered if she should when the three lizard creatures appeared again, still panicking. The red woman seemed to notice that something was amiss, making Tori curious as to what that would be. That question was quickly answered when odd green tendrils of light appeared. They looked pretty to Tori, but the woman was definitely afraid of them, as proven by the way she acted. Tori then made the wise decision to run for her life, away from whatever was chasing them.

Tori had lost track of time as she ran. All she cared about was getting someplace safe, away from all the danger. Surprisingly, she managed to avoid tripping on any roots and was able to keep up with the others. Eventually they reached some sort of road with paved stones. The things that had been following them were stopped by some invisible barrier, and Tori was able to get a good look at them for the first time. Naturally, Tori had no idea what they were, but she couldn't help but admire just how magnificent they looked. Sure, they also looked incredibly menacing and dangerous, but beautiful in their own way. The mob of beasts soon moved away, though, with Tori still looking at them as they left.

The situation finally calmed down now, which Tori was grateful for. She then noticed just how tired she was, and she lied on her back as she breathed somewhat heavily, looking up at the sky. Tori then turned her head to her side, her eyes resting on a knife in a leather sheath on the ground. Pushing herself up, Tori got a better look at it and gingerly picked it up by the handle. Pulling the knife out, Tori admired it for a few moments before putting it back in the sheath. Attaching the sheath to her shorts, Tori began looking for anything else that could be useful when she saw Charlotte. Tori debated for a moment whether it was a good idea to go talk to her, then decided that it would be rude to not thank her. "Umm, e-excuse me," Tori said nervously as she approached Charlotte. "Th-thank you for, um, helping us, b-back there."

The Perils of Being a Pretty Boy

"Faaaaaa... ragglefraggle..." Various nonsense phrases came out of the blue haired elf who had collapsed yet again, too tired to even care about dignity as he laid straight down on the floor like a log with his face once more all but kissing the ground. "I hate this body." Grumbling and small curses continued to spout from his mouth as he got rid of his stress from running away from the freaky fae-like things until he could finally fully relax. "...Also, thanks for the help. It could have gone a lot worse if you hadn't showed up so you have my deepest gratitudes." The words could have came out better if the person saying it wasn't once more being magnetically attracted to the earth, but the heartfelt sincerity came through nonetheless.

Wannabe Hero Ranca Blom

Well that didn't go how she thought it would. Of course, she'd failed to factor in the sudden appearance of... Whoever those weirdoes were. The cast of Labyrinth or something. Only they seemed a lot more dangerous than a bunch of muppets... If crazy sword lady was so worried about them, then she probably should be too, and thus the hooded girl ran as fast as her legs could take her after the others. After all, how could she become a hero if she was killed so soon?

She wasn't sure how long they ran for, but when they finally came to a halt Ranca doubled other, breathing heavily in exhaustion. On the plus side, crazy sword lady seemed less crazy now, so maybe the time for introductions was finally here. Well, if she wasn't so tired at least... Slumping to the ground, she found herself taking a seat beside... Well, her name was Charlotte apparently, so she needed to stop calling her "crazy sword lady" in her head now.

"Haahn... N-nice... Nice to m-meet you, Char..." she gasped between breaths, trying not to think too much about the piles of ashes around them. Still, she gave them a cursory look, before grabbing a dagger and a pouch of what she hoped was the local currency from beside the nearest pile. Whoever they belonged to probably wasn't going to get much use out of them now, so it wasn't really stealing right?

"And, um... N-nice to m-meet you t-t-too, um... Taka?" At least she thought she'd heard the ponytailed woman call herself Takahashi something-or-other. Feebly, she gave her a wave, still trying to catch her breath. "S-s-so, uh, anyone... Anyone have any idea wh-what that was?"

Dragon Rayo's heart raced and his breathing was sporadic. Exhaustion had hit him and he was beginning to feel tired. The running and parkour had finally caught up to him. "Esto es una mierda," he complained under his breath. The luchador was uncertain if he was safe from danger. Looking back, he couldn't see the dangerous gas anymore. He stood breathless on top of building unable to see the destruction and danger of the gas. He had ran quite a long way.

The decision he made was to keep running until there was no sign of hostile activity. The plan afterwards was to...well, make a plan. Rayo was reckless trying to jump back into the fray, but at least he did it for a great cause. He hopes there is some rewarding effect, or most of that time would be useless. All he wished was the people were able to escape safely and he did not just prolong the inevitable.

Rayo held onto his knees for support as he breathed through his nostrils and out his mouth. Luckily, the mask was not a huge breathing hazard. The luchador straightened his back and eyed his surroundings. There was supposed to be planning; however, he couldn't make a plan himself. The giant cloud was going to be too much for him to handle; he needed to at least assemble a team of some sort. Unfortunately, he didn't notice anybody of strength or talent within the crowd. The only person that stood out to him was the individual with the wings.

Kind to think of it, normal people don't have wings, do they? "¿Quiere esto decir que no soy el único?" Rayo scratched his head. He couldn't rely on anyone at the moment; despite the civilians having animal appendages, they were not fighters. The odd individuals that came from the same room are the most likely people that could help him. The problem was they did not look like reliable fighters and the last he saw of them was on top of another rooftop. They were probably dead or in hiding; he hoped they made the escape because he was in complete doubt.

Rayo looked outwards. "Little ninos!" He bellowed out.
