In the world of Remnant, all living creatures possess a soul, the physical manifestation of which is known as Aura: a form of innate energy that bestows its user with certain abilities and powers. Unique expressions of these abilities which are specific to individuals are known as a Semblance. Remnant is populated by two intelligent species - humanity and Faunus, a race of human-animal hybrids.

Legend states that mankind was born from dust into a hostile world, forced to battle for survival against soulless creatures of darkness known as the Grimm. However, mankind discovered a power that would help them combat the forces of darkness. They named their new weapon Dust. Armed with this weapon, mankind was able to turn the tide against the Grimm.

In the absence of darkness, mankind was able to build civilization and spread throughout the world. The mining of Dust would continue to be a major industry, leading to the rise of large enterprises such as the Schnee Dust Company.

However, having survived the Grimm menace, humanity began to turn against itself, spiraling into a series of self-destructive conflicts. The largest of these was the Great War, fought over issues of individualism and self-expression. The conflict also arose between the humans and the subjugated Faunus, eventually sparking the Faunus Rights Revolution.

After the Faunus Rights Revolution, the White Fang was founded as a symbol of peace and unity between the Faunus and Humans. However, humanity continued to discriminate the Faunus, prompting the White Fang to become the voice of the Faunus.

Initially, they took the classical forms of nonviolent political protest with such tactics as mass rallies and boycotts of organizations that discriminated against Faunus in any way.

Then, approximately five years ago, after fruitless attempts to be accepted by the Humans as equals, the leader of the White Fang stepped down and was replaced by a new leadership who didn't share the same belief in nonviolent protest. Under this new leadership, the White Fang adopted its current violent and more aggressive behavior. Most notable was the bombing of stores that refused to serve Faunus and the theft or sabotage of cargo trains originating from organizations that used Faunus labor. Most of the time, these cargo trains carried dust from the Schnee Dust Company.

Under its new leadership, the White Fang retaliated against the people and organizations who once treated them as lesser beings and slaves. Ironically, in an attempt to gain equality and make the Faunus race free from fear, the White Fang itself has become a cause of fear and hatred amongst Humans and Faunus alike. The White Fang's barbaric actions have made them unpopular even among Faunus, with the more moderate and open-minded members of the species seeing them as insane obstacles to true peace between the races. If some Humans now treat Faunus as equals, it is not out of any true respect, but only from their fear of the actions of the White Fang.

In the modern day, most humans live within the four Kingdoms; Vale, Mistral, Atlas, and Vacuo. Through a combination of human tenacity and the use of natural barriers, these settlements managed to survive and are regarded as "safe havens" and "beacons of hope" for humanity and Faunus.

However, small villages and nomadic communities do exist outside of the territories of the main kingdoms, though they are noted as being far more susceptible to Grimm attacks. This serves to emphasize that Remnant is not a particularly welcoming world to humans.

Following the Great War, Huntsman Academies, such as Beacon Academy, were created to train Huntsmen and Huntresses, warriors whose sole purpose was to combat the Grimm using a combination of powerful weapons, Aura, and Dust. In doing so, they protect those who cannot protect themselves from the dangers of Remnant.

Over the years, Beacon, like the rest of the academies have trained hunters and huntresses to fight against the Grimm, but with the uprising of the White Fang. Many of the academies have started training their students to fight back against the White Fang. The academies express that violence against the White Fang should be a last resort, but Atlas academy sees the White Fang as nothing more than a threat.

However, the government that oversees both the academies and the kingdoms forbid a full-scale attack on the White Fang for fear of a full-scale war. However, the war might just be the only answer as the academies open their doors to new and returning students. The White Fangs newest plan not only involves a full-scale attack on the kingdoms but also involves the most heinous crime a being can commit: Playing God. As the academies open their doors, they are unaware of the looming danger creeping up from the shadows. Among them, Beacon is unaware that they will be the first testing grounds for the White Fangs newest plans. However, should the plan succeed or fail, no one could predict what could happen in the coming future?

Name: Cyra Sylvan, aka Scorpling

Appearance: (picture to be added once it is completed) Cyra stands at 4'6", 101 lbs. She typically wears very thick clothing with dark colours, hoodies, sweatpants, boots and fingerless gloves. She also conceals the lower half of her face with a scarf. Has violet eyes and chin length black hair. Visible skin is a very light brown, with sections of greenish-black carapace spread across her torso and limbs. She has a very compact, muscular, and curvy body shape, built like a rugby player.

Race: Faunus, Scorpion

Weapon Name: Khthon and Lithos

Weapon Appearance: A pair of rectangular arm shields, each having a small triangular protrusion on the front edge and a set of lights running down its face.

Weapon Type: Transformable, Dust compatible (Fire, Ice, may add a third one once we know more about what the individual colours correspond to), Defensive

Weapon Transformations:

Version 1: Guardian Mode. Each shield can extend panels from the side and bottom edges, forming a large wall shield that Cyra can use to protect herself.

Version 2: Assault Mode. The spike on the front edge extends and separates into a pair of tines that cover the machine gun barrels and open the central rail cannon. These weapons require a brief charge period but possess an immense amount of firepower, being able to crack even Boarbatusk or Death Stalker armour at point-blank range. The recoil of these weapons means that only Cyra is able to use them, as anyone else would have their arms ripped off.

Version 3: Suppression Mode. The rail cannon tines merge and retract into the barrel, opening up the machine gun barrels. While nowhere near as powerful as the rail cannon, they have a much greater rate of fire and can be modified with different types of Dust ammunition, such as explosive rounds to disrupt enemy movements, and cryogenic rounds to immobilize and disable them. The recoil of these weapons is not as severe as the rail cannons, but they would still ordinarily be found in vehicle mountings and will break the arm or dislocate the shoulder of anyone other than Cyra, if not both. Even so, extended combat can make her arms feel numb.

Version 4: Fortress Mode. Khthon and Lithos can be combined to form a large curved barrier, completely protecting Cyra and anyone behind her from any frontal attack.

Weapon Range: Short, Medium (technically could be used at long range as well, but her accuracy severely suffers)

Personality: Cyra is as quiet and shy as anyone can get. She buries her body in thick clothing, desperate to hide her Faunus status and going to great lengths to ensure no one else discovers this fact; dressing and undressing while still in bed, bathing only when she is absolutely certain she is alone, avoiding all physical contact. Often the only parts of her body that are actually visible are the upper half of her face and her fingertips. Because of her small stature, reluctance to speak and preference for dark colours, she easily fades into the background and passes unnoticed, until someone decides to pick on her, against which she virtually never defends herself.

In spite of this, Cyra is quite intelligent and studious, having designed and built the complicated mechanisms of Khthon and Lithos herself. She is also very observant and rarely misses things, even if she seldom informs anyone else for fear of bringing attention to herself, which causes her to appear somewhat stupid. When she is with someone she truly trusts, she can seem over-affectionate, craving the physical contact she otherwise deprives herself of. She also loves sour candies, the stronger the better, making her rather easy to bribe.

In combat, Cyra is a very patient and defensive person, letting her enemies come to her. She will endure enemy attacks with her shields and Semblance, waiting for the best opening, and then overwhelming them with an immense of firepower. Otherwise, she will engage her opponents at range with her machine guns, maintaining control over the battlefield. Fighting against Cyra has been described as similar to fighting against a small mountain; she has unmatched stamina in a fight, her shields and Semblance enabling her to endure almost any attack that comes her way, allowing opponents to exhaust themselves. Her Faunus traits also give her a very robust constitution; her natural carapace gives her vital organs greater protection than normal skin, making her defensive use of Aura less intensive, and because she naturally conserves her energy she can fight for significant periods of time. The immense firepower at her disposal, relative to her small size, can take many people by surprise, and she is quick to exploit any openings or advantages that enemies present to her to their full extent.

That said, Cyra has difficulty engaging fast opponents who are able to evade her attacks and find openings in her defense. Additionally, her ability to endure attacks is largely dependent upon her maintaining contact with the ground, so upwards attacks that send her into the air make her vulnerable. While largely unafraid of fighting Grimm, she is much more hesitant and timid when fighting human or Faunus opponents, resulting her tending to hide behind her shields rather than attack, because she is afraid of accidentally injuring them.

Bio: Cyra grew up alone with her mother, her father dying in a Grimm attack before she was born and having no other family to speak of. She also rarely saw her mother, who tended to work long hours at difficult jobs just to be able to support her. School was essentially hell for Cyra; as a young scorpion Faunus she often faced intense bullying, particularly due to the carapace sections on her skin being difficult to hide. Her attempts to do so only changed the reasons for her being bullied.

Her path to becoming a Huntress was one of necessity. While at a playground, Cyra was being repeatedly pushed around by a group of kids, when she finally lost her temper and activated her Semblance. The resulting shockwave not only knocked the other kids off their feet, but also caused serious damage to the playground. Cyra’s mother made her swear to only use her power to protect others, encouraging her to be better than those who discriminated against her. After that, her path was set, and she was enrolled in combat school to become a Huntress. In doing this, her mother hoped that she would eventually find the strength to stand for herself, whilst avoiding becoming a member of the White Fang.

Semblance: able to "lock-down" her body, becoming immovable from where she stands and transmitting energy either into the ground or absorbing it into herself. This is the primary reason that she is able to wield such heavy caliber weapons, as her Semblance allows her to absorb the recoil. If sufficiently motivated, Cyra can also focus the absorbed energy and her own emotions into powerful seismic shockwaves, transforming her into the epicenter of an earthquake.

Emblem: A stylized purple V with curved tips (resembling herself holding her shields in front of her in Guardian form when viewed from above), surrounded by two green concentric spiked circles.

Personality:
Khalil is the type of guy to babble a lot whenever he's nervous or angry. He does like to talk a lot but when it comes to being in groups he tends to stay quiet and mind his own business.

Bio: Khalil was born in a middle class family, they gave him anything he wanted just because he was the baby of the family. Well, he had a twin brother -but- he was the youngest out of him being that his twin was born first than him for like a minute and a half. Khalil always had the feminine features, even his parents were confused to know if he was a male or a female but he was pretty sure a male, he had everything a male had. But, his body was more formed like a woman. But enough of his story in the past, right now, Khalil wants to attend the academy with his twin brother beside him.

Wind or Air - A "primary" type of Dust, known to correspond to green crystals.
Fire - Fire is mentioned by Weiss Schnee in "The Shining Beacon" as a type of Dust. Miles states that red crystals are Fire Dust in the RWBY Volume 3 Live Stream. In "Ruby Rose", a henchman calls the red crystals "Burn Uncut" (also seen in closed caption subtitles) which might be a name for the Fire Dust type.
Water - Mentioned by Weiss in "The Shining Beacon"
Lightning - Mentioned by Weiss in "The Shining Beacon"
Ice - A "secondary" type of Dust, formed by the combination of Water and Air Dust.
Steam - A "secondary" type of Dust, formed by the combination of Water and Fire Dust.
Gravity
Earth - Shown when Blake made a rock clone in "No Brakes".

as for combinations, if you wanted to combine Fire and water to create steam then go ahead, but what type of Combinations are you thinking of?

I saw a graph with those 5 as the primaries and he uses bursts to accelerate himself and his bullets, which the graph showed burst as a combo of lightning and earth actually.



Here is a picture of the graph I saw. I just need to know what combo would be best to create a burst. If you don't want to use this that's fine, it's just a fan theory.

That is the naruto chakra chart. The burst your wanting sounds more like your semblance. But if dust combo is the way wind lightning.

His semblance is penetration. The bursts are just to build speed and movement, and fire high velocity rounds. If just saying fire dust gives the burst I'm looking for then I'll just use fire dust. He's going to have boots similar to Mercury Black's, just not as advanced.
