As far as hikkikomori goes...Social anxiety = subculture now? And NEET's something completely different. It just means someone who is unemployed and not at university. Which COULD include someone really hardworking, but who hasn't found employment yet. Or didn't quite do well enough on university entrance exams.

Sure, when I said subculture I was exaggerating but I think you're ignoring my point entirely: There are groups of people that act contradictory to their traditional culture. Am I wrong?

I'm not trying to make an argument that the entire race acts the same way.

I'm trying to say it IS central to their culture(as in, it's core to them and is kind of like the shaved hippy dwarf example for them not to be like that). I'm just a little surprised that the person playing a hundi(probably the only one in the RP) picked someone who's not using their cultural traits.

I guess it's just if you want someone who doesn't have shades of proud warrior, I'm surprised you took the proud warrior race when there's other options.

I mean there's nothing technically wrong, I'm just surprised and a little confused.

@VitaVitaAR Well never meant to be that confusing. I apologize. I suppose my second defense. If we're going by classes variety...we already of have two knights, one holy and one hell, both sword users. Plus another playing a warrior class on top of that. And you told me to avoid being a rogue because you we're working on such a class with another user. So I picked something that wouldn't be similar in class.

@SleepingSilence: Well, it's not even that. It's just, um, I'm surprised that, given his personality and backstory, you picked hundi as a race.

It's just surprising that you picked one when you don't really want to go with a character who may act basically however else, but still has some shades of being a proud warrior. There's obviously hundi magi and hundi bards and hundi whatever else.

Again, there's nothing, like, inherently wrong here, it's just a surprising choice for the character.

Name: Peridot Longmarch

Class: Mage

Appearance: Hi.

Personality: Peri can be... impatient, to put it lightly. She has a tendency to rush into situations without bothering to think them through, and for looking for easy and quick solutions to problems. This over-enthusiasm is probably what led to her reading ahead a bit too often, which explains why her magic repertoire basically consists of "small-ish fireball" and "tactical nuclear strike".

Brief Backstory: A fairly unremarkable Meridan student, Peri travels the realm in the hopes of learning how to use magic beyond "set stuff on fire" and "blow stuff up". So far, she has been incredibly unsuccessful. Although she's gotten very good at all things combustion and conflagration.

Equipment:

• Wizard's Robes
• Basic Staff - white fir
• Kitbag containing spell components and adventuring gear

Abilities:

• Fireball: Basic Magic Missile spell
• Megaton Bomb: Hilariously overpowered destruction spell in the vein of the Dragon Slave and other such giant explosion generators. Likely to result in strain-induced unconsciousness or worse if used. Also has a rather long incantation (somewhere on the order of six minutes) and liable to be as dangerous to the caster as the target except at long range.

As I said, I change race and not really have to edit much. (probably human because sadly it's the only other race that would make sense visually in my mind with a bard class) It's not the end of world for me. I guess it's your choice, whether to accept it as is, or let me know if you want me to change that. Since that appears to be the main issue for you. It does appear that we will get another Hundi that fits their culture to a tee. So that might provide good character conflict.

But still up to you, I've edited once already and I can do it again, no problem.

Well, with the possibility of another Hundi it doesn't bother me as much, even if I still think it's an odd choice.

Though I'm now just curious, why don't you think any of the other races would work as a bard?

I'm not trying to make you change or anything, I'm just wondering.

@VitaVitaAR Well from first glance, it didn't look I had many options. Visually speaking.

Usually bards are very charismatic and charming, using good looks to charm others. etc. At least from how I understand them. And most other races I saw look visually odd.

Undead,Harpies,Naga's: I don't think these would realistically be the bard's of the group, based on how I see them in my head.

Nem and dwarves: Less nightmarish, but still visually unappealing or at least attractiveness is less likely.

And I'll be honest, I didn't see elves as an option. So I guess that's another choice. I didn't read it to see if the only difference was the ears. (or if they look like the wood or dark elves via skyrim. a.k.a rather ugly. :P)

*Shrugs* I also usually don't usually play as humans in most RP's I play when multiple races are available either. There's no real important answer, just what I thought would look the best in my head.

@Raineh Daze@Rin Well I didn't say they were ugly. (or try to.) I just based it off their yellow skin and red eyes. That they look more odd, than grotesque. Based on the picture, it doesn't look like the kind of yellow skin I envisioned no. :P

@SleepingSilence: Well, I'd like to know since if my text descriptions aren't getting across how things look, I can fix them or provide pictures of some kind in order to help with that. It's important to make sure everyone's on the same page, basically.

If everyone ends up with wildly differing views of how everything looks, there's bound to be confusion between players and that's not good at all.

That's where your character goes though, yes.
