@alexfangtalon I like the morph call, but would probably drop the end of it, "Striking with lethal precision, Strike Force reporting for duty!" since it feels just a bit too corny in a world that's pretty bland. Everything else I'd call solid. And I, too, liked RPM and Dino Thunder's sequences.

I don't know if this is better or worse for the morphers but I had another idea where we swiped our hand over it.

I thought it was a really bad idea but if you guys don't like numbers than this could work as a form of DNA verification for our morphing sequence.

@SoleAccordWe could shorten it to-

"Strike Force, reporting for duty!"

DNA bonding has its own form of risk. Given that ranger teams have been beaten in the past, should one of you die that tech should be able to be passed down. It can also be said that there is a method of wiping the DNA bonding through means the Mentor would know. It can be a good idea if you want to go that route.

@Kouki I think reporting for duty is maybe more militaristic than strike team-like. This isn't a matter of duty, it's more like desperation--a need to break your world free from this passive slavery. Responding implies you are coherent and still with the team; you are ready to strike or defend if necessary. I wouldn't want this to feel like a duty thing.

@Wade Wilson Nobody has turned in a picture to be used for the morpher yet, so technically I am still waiting on that, but it's not a necessity.

@SoleAccordPerhaps, but the militaristic theme holds the potential to present ourselves as a strong and elite unit which could help to insight rebellion and let the people put a higher level of faith in our abilities.

PR stands for more than just Power Rangers in this setting.

@KoukiBut it's also the legacy of the Power Rangers that led everyone there and gave them the ability to fight back, so don't forget the roots. I just don't get that same sense of 'elite' that you do, but if the others agree to it I'm not gonna say anything. It's just a call at the end of the day. All I want is some development--that's really where my stake in this lies.

But we're not really a military force... yet.

I don't see it as a Duty thing either. Guess I'm going to hop on Sole's bandwagon and say that I would like something inspirational, if not direct and blunt. I want to see something like,

"Strike Force, Bursting Forth!"

or

"Strike Force, Fighting for Hope!"

This might be the sentai talking but I like it when its a bit more creative and animated lol.

@Renny What do you guys think "military" and "duty" mean? Cause I don't feel like we're using the same definitions here.

@KoukiA military is a large, armed force generally composed of land, air, and sea forces tasked with defending a country and all its territories, and going against whatever threatens it. You're talking five Power Rangers, five Power Rangers that have not been confirmed to be on the exact same level. What you describe of this team is nearing the endgame, when they've been battle-hardened and tested through trials and tribulations, through suffering, through defeat, and through hard fought victories. With all due respect, we have no idea the condition of this team from the very start, nor how they'll fare in actual combat Pro presents to them. So this team of five that were more than likely only chosen because they weren't under the mind control--some depends on the background and I don't see any templates yet, waiting for Pro to finish the OOC-- and nothing more than that.

Duty means a responsibility given a new role you've chosen to fill. I was not denying that these Rangers have a duty to protect New Earth from the second they touched their morphers for the first time. What you wanted was this to feel like some sort of military strike team, when thus far, as far as we know, it's these five people from different walks of life just trying to fight back and survive while doing so, and there's no guarantee for any of them--especially since I have no concrete information on most of them and none of you are likely to be warriors at heart. This was something you either felt you had to do, needed to do, or wanted to do. But me, personally? I just didn't like 'reporting for duty' to be part of the call, and that's just because it sounds more like you are more militant than strike team, and I feel that there are possibly simpler ways to initiate your call.

I liked Alex' idea: Striker (color/number/whatever), online/responding!

But you will always be reporting for duty, whether in the suit or not, because that was a task you all should have been willing to take up without powers. Lightspeed Rescue taught us that while being Rangers is a significant boon, everyday people can be heroes, so 'reporting for duty' just felt too militant and less accepting of that. The only time you guys shouldn't be reporting for duty is if you're dead lol.

But that's just me dude. Like I said, this is all about a call, and I'm down for whatever you guys decide as a group.

Not animated enough, pfft.

Nah, just kidding. While I would prefer something more... Sentai BOOM!

I'm down with whatever.

"Striker Red, Engaged!" sounds like something my character would say anyway.

@SoleAccordTo clarify here, I don't think or ever said we were an army and I should point out that the describing word "military" has nothing to do with size. Military simply means that it has something to do, or has the characteristics of, a soldier or armed force.

Also, I never said anything about what we would be like, or what our performance rate was going to be like. Why did you say I said anything about our individual performance?

The only thing I said was that a military like call presented us as a strong unit in the eyes of the people and could inspire them to rebel.

@SoleAccordthe militaristic theme holds the potential to present ourselves as a strong and elite unit which could help to insight rebellion and let the people put a higher level of faith in our abilities.

PR stands for more than just Power Rangers in this setting.

Oh, I also said that PR stood for personal relations (not just for Power Rangers) in this setting since a large part of this story is getting the people on our side.

How did you get....all of that, from "a military call would make us look better to the people"?

@KoukiYou're five individuals donning suits used by heroes in the past to beat back evil, if not outright destroy it. I don't think a militant version of a morph call is going to rally them any more than the fact that the Rangers have returned and are trying to help them in spite of what Galatec tries to feed them.

If everyone wants the military morph call, then by all means.

@SoleAccordNo, I get what you're saying, but every calculation counts. This isn't just a fight against evil, it's a strategic advancement in the fields of both public relations and combat.

Like ProPro said, we're the Strike Force, it's all about precision, about each move we make. Small motions in the wave will push us closer to overall victory.

It doesn't really matter anyway, I'm pretty sure no one but me sees the point of it, which means there probably isn't one.

PS: And don't tell me what I want...

I know that's weird and out of the blue and I meant to say it earlier but it bugged me when you told me what I wanted, it does whenever someone says that.

It's not you at all, not trying to start anything. Just, in the future, please try to avoid telling me what I'm thinking or what I'm going for.

Well, things got intense while I wasn't looking. Ok then, glad that already blew over and we can all be friends. Moving on! I'll be editing in the CS in the first post of this thread whilst I wait on the rest of what I need to fully begin the proper OOC thread. That way everyone that's taking an active interest can get to work on the sheet with what they have and know.
