@WindsOfFateI say play whatever suits you; no one has committed to a villain yet, so you shouldn't have any real competition in the 'evil' department.

Kouki is gunning for Blue, Wade is looking at the 6th Ranger who's color is unknown (which, according to Pro, won't be for some time), Renny is after the Red Ranger, I am looking at the Yellow Ranger, and alexfangtalon is apparently looking at a Green Ranger.

I believe that everyone else is willing to fill in, depending on the roles that still need people. No role is first come first serve according to Pro, so try your hand at whatever role you're interested in, and Pro will decide based on quality and how much he believes a character would fit. I'd have a backup plan. For instance, if I don't get Yellow I'll go to Assistant, and then to General/Villain. Of course, people can change their minds whenever they want, since the actual thread has yet to be made. I might even change my mind from Yellow to either Assistant or General/Villain. It's good to have options!

Speaking of Red Ranger, I have a few things that are concrete about my character. I think since a few of you have already spoken a bit about your vision of your Rangers that I should too. I also enjoy bouncing things off people :)

Anyway, I have a name for him. Michael Sonnen. Sonnen meaning "Sun". <-- Sonnen is a bit disbelieveable but call it my creative liberties lol. I'm a believer that someone's name can influence how they act in life. Which is one of the reasons why I chose those names.

His main attractions as a person will be his insight, empathy, and seemingly erratic doubtfulness. The vision I have for him as a Red Ranger isn't typical. He won't be leading the others into battle with fiery determination or being a reckless berserker. So I see him acting as more of a lone pillar than anything else. Attempting to keep everyone assured while willingly walking off alone. I'm hoping sometime into the RP will produce some fine character development for the Red Ranger.

Sooo what do we think? ^_^

@WindsOfFate I need a character sheet that I consider good enough to give me faith that you can pull off the role you apply for. Once sign-ups are officially open, that is.

Another detail for everyone to note: The players that are given the role of main villain and mentor I will be working most closely with. My role as GM will be primarily dropping news, hints, discoveries, and macguffins for those two to act upon.

@Renny I can say it will be refreshing to not have the 'born leader' archetype for the Red Ranger, but beyond this I'd need to see what he's like in a roleplay environment before I say more. But, what do you mean when you say 'erratic doubtfulness'? Is it internalized, as in he keeps it to himself most of the time? Otherwise it's strange to picture him having these doubts yet trying to keep everyone assured. What if he feels differently? That said, yeah, I'd need to see him in character. It's hard to get a good judge on him now. Props on avoiding the stereotype though.

@ProProI'll just say I'm definitely going to pay attention to the Mentor and Villain sheets if anyone goes for them. If they're something I can get down with, I might give up the Yellow spot in order to fill out Assistant or General, but they have to REALLY be something. However, if we're dry on Mentor and Villain sheets, I'll consider one or the other since we have many people who are--obviously--going to be looking for some Ranger positions to fill. I'll give up my spot for the sake of more cast diversity. Can't all be the ones in suits XP

@Renny I think it's a form of forced selflessness right, he probably doesn't think of himself as much of anything so he throws himself in the way of fire without a care, trying to hold up others because playing support is easier than fighting for yourself.

At least, that's what I got from him, I'm probably over thinking it right now! I should wait for the game like @SoleAccord said! Sorry!

@Kouki I figured it was that kind of thing but I couldn't be quite sure.

Also, I'm resigning desire to play as the Yellow Ranger, and will instead put focus into either a General or the Mentor. While I think I could have done a decent job as a Ranger, I think I'd do even better as the obstacle in the way of the Rangers, or the man who supports the Rangers themselves. Looking forward to this even more.

@SoleAccord Well apart of being human, for me anyway, is attempting to please those around you while maintaining a level of selfness. Its a inner struggle for Michael. I see him at times questioning his reason for joining, if what he's doing is right. But in the process also trying to convince himself and the others that it is. That's only if someone is voicing concerns.

@RennyOkay. It might just be me, but I'd get a better idea after seeing him in the roleplay. Sorry, I'm a bit slow like that ^^'

@SoleAccord Don't sell yourself short, you're probably a genius.

@RennyI'm not a huge fan of the idea of "selflessness" and neither is my character, it sounds nice but I don't think a lot of people actually know what it means to be without a "self".

I know you said you were struggling with it but I don't think Michael and Jonah are going to get along....which makes us the perfect red and blue rangers!

@SoleAccord I agree. I have grasp on him but it'll have tighter hold once I RP with him as well :)

@Kouki Lol, can't wait to see what the interaction will be like. The first few thoughts they have of each other should be entertaining to read. Speaking of that, I wonder how they'll all end up meeting? Of course it'll be at the recruitment but what's gonna bring together if its sort of a peaceful, enslaved world.

@Renny Jonah will most likely be in a perpetual state of "annoyed as fuck" whenever he sees your face or you doing something stupidly reckless. Expect it to culminate in a rousing punch in the face as you gather "red ranger power-ups".

Oh, that's if I'm accepted.

@ProProHave you already made the CS? I had an idea for one if you wanted to see it...

PS: I have my picture.

@Kouki It isn't made, but I have the idea of what I'll get written out. It'll have 2 parts. The first part will be a basic sheet for all characters, then there will be an add-on for different types (a ranger add on and villain add on, mostly).

@ProProSorry if this is a dumb question but I've been reading over the story on the OP and was wondering if we had a revolutionary army of some kind?

I mean, you made it clear that the aliens don't use military force to suppress people, instead they use drug induced mind control to turn the populace docile.

Ten years ago Galatec, a multi-galactic corporation and superpower, arrived under the banner of peace and trade. The united government of New Earth established treaties and trade agreements which allowed Galatec access to the planet's resources, and in exchange they would provided goods and services to the good people of New Earth. What nobody saw coming was a corporate takeover of the most hostile variety. The products provided by Galatec were designed to make humans complacent, obedient, servants and sheep to their alien benefactors. When the time came, Galatec took over with no resistance, and now the entire population exists as slave labor to expand the corrupt company's resources and profit margin.

But I had a thought...

There has to be an interval of time between Galatec giving people these "too good to be true" products and their spread to every facet of humanity right? There are over 6 billion people on the planet.

They had to wait for the mind control to get to everyone, even if they put it in the water. And surely there were people who were out of range of the effects (people in submarines or in caves) or those that didn't trust the new technology because it was obviously too good to be true and just drank bottled water.

There are many humans who are naturally, and often rightfully, paranoid when it comes to gifts from the heavens.

So, my question is, was there an interval of time between Galatec's arrival and the enslavement of humanity?

And, if yes to the above, how long was that interval and is there a rebel force of underground humans that banded together in that interval of time?

Again, sorry if that was dumb question or if it was asked before. I miss things sometimes...

@KoukiThere are no dumb questions. There are, however, questions with obvious answers. This isn't one of them, so good on you for asking. :P

New Earth was completely subjugated by the end of Galatec's first year occupying the planet. There were those that didn't trust them at first (as there always will be) and there are small pockets of resistance here and there. However, they are completely ineffective and incapable of fighting back. Also, Galatec _does_ have a military presence. The foot soldiers I mentioned before, called the "Githkin." A race that was subjugated and enslaved long ago, they are force-grown in mass cloning chambers and reach maturity in just under three days. These foot soldiers are stronger than the normal PR foot soldier and _will_ kick your ass unmorphed, and they _will_ give you a run for your money even when you are morphed.

In other news, working on the main OOC right now. Still a ways to go. I'll be able to dedicate more time to it when I'm not at work.

Two questions. Would people be able to potentially fake that the subjugation worked, and if not what kind of limitations do parents have on raising their children?

@ProProHow do we win, actually no, how do we survive?

I mean, even if we knew martial arts (which I planned to since he's going for loyal soldier) it doesn't matter against the grunts, and even with morphers, they're still apparently almost as strong as our ranger forms.

And that's the grunts, what are the mid-level bosses going to be like?

The generals that turn into giant monsters, are they just gonna flick their wrist and incinerate us before even going giant?

There are five of us, oh wait, there are six of us with abilities that barely put us above our enemy's foot soldiers. I'm all for a challenge, these just feel like impossible odds.

And I get it because there'd be no point to the game if it was just a copy of every other series, each fight looking like we might lose but nope, winning every time. Destroying every uber powered alien/demon/machine-demon hybrid with seemingly less effort with every short handed power up.

Maybe it's because I'm speculating way too much but these odds feel too insurmountable. Like, it would be improbable to say that we were perfect on the first or even the fourth try and I totally expect us to lose when it makes sense. But, I don't know, I guess I'm seeing this uphill battle with a enormously steep incline and that's unfair because I don't know the game yet so our enemy might have some type of weakness, your the GM and you would know.

It's just that, from what I can see, will there ever be a point where we're not just barely scraping through each fight?

WAIT! I just had an idea!!

What's emitting the light that turns people's brains into mush?

And what produces the water!?

If we destroyed those could we free everyone!?

Is this game not about fighting countless battles but actually performing calculated strikes at major points to turn the tide of the war as a whole!!?

My plan is to get that up in the next 2-5 days. Wade Wilson already made a fantastic logo/graphic, and I've got my roommate/best friend working on a sample image of the basic suit design.

Hah, I've actually been doing the same, only instead just colouring in some hd images of pre-rendered armour.
