Slowly working myself through the new replies. Also slowly composing a response of my own, recovering from a bit of a drop in motivation. The Final Fantasy 7 soundtrack always manages to jump-start my system in these situations; I love it.

Also, as @Rockette said, don't worry about stepping on toes. As long as you're not killing other people's characters or aggressively controlling them, then write whatever you want. If there's a problem, we will just discuss it and edit it later.

The interest check is still on the first page. But, we can do with what we currently have.

Yeah to be honest, I've lost all gusto when it comes to RPing. Like..I just can't bring myself to post anymore because I know it will be lackluster and dull. And yeah. one can say "it doesnt matter" but it matters to me, because I pride myself on my writing. I've just been so burned out by it.

I'm not gone, I am still here. Just thought I'd update you on the situation.

That's alright. I'm struggling myself at the moment. It's mostly because of other things in life right now. Everything sort of affects everything else. Just take a break, hon', if you want to. Then at least this won't loom over you and make you feel even worse. Come back whenever you want and we'll sort things out at that time.

What to do, what to do, what to do?

First of all, the reason I'm talking in this medium (and the reason for the strange part above) is that I've set myself a challenge. This challenge is to try my utmost best to be the character "Blurryface" depicted in Twenty One Pilots' latest album of the same name. This may last for a week, maybe two, but the whole point of it is to push my boundaries, and see what I can do in terms of playing a character who is, essentially, the personification of peoples' insecurities.

Anyway, enough about that. The biggest question for me is this - do I devote myself to this rolelay? I had previously intended to join before, I believe, but ended up dropping it due to illness and, quite frankly, a lack of faith in myself. There is a problem I had back then that I am facing now, and it's this - my brain is struggling to take in all of the information. I absolutely love the vast world you've managed to create, Prisk, but my tiny little brain just cannot absorb this, at all. I'm really disappointed by this, as I cannot express enough how glad I would be if I were apart of this roleplay.

If there's any way I can get some help on getting to grips with the world and/or creating a character, then please, let me know. It's honestly surprised me that this roleplay is still holding strong, and I think it's about time to get off my ass and start doing things that scare me.

I can't put much, since my brain is failing yet again, but to sum it up, it's basically everything but the setting. My brain likes settings, and that's about it. I honestly wish I could help you by explaining it in more detail, but I feel like I've gone braindead. I'm not even kidding; I just deleted a paragraph on why bacon is the best food, and not broccoli. I hope this at least helps a little bit, and sorry if I'm being a giant pain right now.

@Wade WilsonI had a hard time grasping the setting at the very beginning too, and to be honest I think it really helped that I kind of made my own lore to fit into the story. I used a lot of pictures I found over the internet to get a feel of the setting for myself (usually low to moderate fantasy art with a futuristic/mid-high tech feel), and I feel like the pictures Prisk and Rockette have posted in OOC have also really helped. Also, I came into this kind of expecting a final fantasy sort of theme, and I still have that same impression even this far into the roleplay.

Now that I'm reading over what I wrote I'm not too sure if any of that was helpful, but I do hope you join the party!

So, do you genuinely feel this way or is it because you're trying to personify people's insecurities? Anyway, the most fundamental explanation is: supersoldiers do supersoldier stuff. The world it itself is based on various Final Fantasy installments, not to mention Square Enix's animated movie of the same name, 'The Spirits Within'. I'd recommend that you watch Let's Plays of Final Fantasy 13 (XIII) and Final Fantasy 7 (VII). This roleplay has a lot of influences from the latter, FF7.

Other than that, you'd have to be more specific about the things you can't grasp. If this is the case for everyone, and the reason why people have left the roleplay and new ones haven't joined, it's quite a serious problem. I'd have to re-write everything.
