So, do you genuinely feel this way or is it because you're trying to personify people's insecurities? Anyway, the most fundamental explanation is: supersoldiers do supersoldier stuff. The world it itself is based on various Final Fantasy installments, not to mention Square Enix's animated movie of the same name, 'The Spirits Within'. I'd recommend that you watch Let's Plays of Final Fantasy 13 (XIII) and Final Fantasy 7 (VII). This roleplay has a lot of influences from the latter, FF7.

Other than that, you'd have to be more specific about the things you can't grasp. If this is the case for everyone, and the reason why people have left the roleplay and new ones haven't joined, it's quite a serious problem. I'd have to re-write everything.

No, I'm just trying something new with my character-playing abilities. I've noticed most of my characters fall under two archetypes - hot-headed, douchebags, or unpredictable goofballs. I looked around for some good characters that might push my limits, but, to be honest, I was too obsessed with Twenty One Pilots' album to not do Blurryface. I'm still unsure of who exactly he is, but from what I've seen on the internet, and from what I've inferred from the album, he is basically the evil-esque personification of insecurities. If you want, you can google "who is blurryface" and quite a lot will come up. It might help to explain things. (One quote that could really get you in the feel would be: "Who is Blurryface and why does he want me dead?". I do think the whole point of the Blurryface album is to inspire people to rise up and defeat their insecurities, though.)

Anyway, thanks for the help. I do actually own FF10, but the gameplay isn't quite for me so I'm still getting used to it. I do understand it a lot better now, though, and I'll probably go do some research on Final Fantasy so I can get just that bit more to grips. My character might take a while, as I'm currently in the one-week holiday off school, meaning my mind's gonna be occupied with studying and random things. Hopefully I'll be able to pull my finger out this time, though, and get a little faith in myself. Though, it does make a lot more sense now that I know it's inspired by Final Fantasy. I think the main problem for me is when I think it's a completely original world someone's made, with no ties or inspiration from anything, I panic. Therefore, my mind panics, and I struggle to grasp the concept, because I'm scared I won't understand. It's kind of a "post hoc, ergo propter hoc" moment. Thanks again, though, you've really helped.

@DJAtomika @ZB1996 - Since you're the only two remaining that have characters involved in the Reactor mission, are you working on posts or have ideas for some before I post next for it? In my post I'm including all characters, those are that "active" anyways, so none get left behind, but it'll be a decent overhaul to assist the progression of the plot. Just let me know!

So, seeing how this semi-sandbox format of the roleplay didn't change much from a linear format, in terms of... well... many things, I'm thinking that I'll direct the rest of the story towards the linear, but with a touch of 'quest-hubs' and mini-missions where the characters are closer to each other. However, the easiest way to do it would be to do a bit of a time-skip forward. The current missions that are doing well can be written as Flashbacks, or we'll just settle on what happened, if necessary. How do you guys feel about this? You'll still be able to roleplay all of your characters, but they'll all be together. Basically, we'll do a bit of a reboot within the same thread.

I personally a believe a reboot in the thread will be best, I'm looking forward to everyone interacting as a whole, these missions were fun though! I did enjoy them, none the less. With that said, with the missions remaining, I would like to wrap them up into completion, but I fear that it would stagnate the story and plot progression further. With that said, Flashbacks might be the best option, if necessary.

This week is currently kicking my ass, and it's only Tuesday - well, Wednesday in a few minutes - but I think I need a vacation.

A reboot sounds good to me. I'm open to continuing the Kinabalu Mission through flashbacks, or if it's necessary, just wrapping it up altogether in a quick summary. It's a bit of a bummer to miss out on some action, but I'm excited to see how things go now that all the character will be together.

Also, now that the sites calmed down and everything isn't turning into errors, I'll have my post up for Ophelia shortly.

Yeah, a reboot/revivification/restart/rewhatever we want to call it sounds like a good idea. It'll throw the much smaller remaining cast together and kind of help push along so that we keep things going along at a steady pace.

Okay, then we'll go with a reboot by pushing the mission forward to the point where all the characters would've ended up together anyway. Basically, this will be when the army has reached the ocean gap between Cetra and Anatolia. Moving the M.O.V.'s and other vehicles across the water will take some time, but the landing in Anatolia has to be scouted and secured. Our characters have been sent ahead for this task. They will arrive in an area where we'll do mini-missions (1-3) together instead of being spread out.

Here's the map with the location. As you can see, some of the Dark Zone is gone where the army has pushed forward.



Anyway, the two active missions have to be resolved. I know that @rockette and @DJAtomika are discussing the reactor mission, and we were going to resolve the Kinabalu mission in flashbacks. I think the smoothest option would be to discuss it here, in a summary, and then flashbacks can be optional if you want to express certain details.

So, what happened at Kinabalu after the last few posts?

Concerning Kinabalu, Mags is pretty much determined to keep them away from the mines now and is rapidly losing control over herself. So I guess the general outcome comes to the reactions of my latest post. First off, do they retreat or keep fighting? Let's begin from that.

I think Selene's encounter with Mags did a number on her. She already had a morphed view on cults, aggressors, and things of the dark zone, so this meeting probably pushed her further into hatred. This will work well with my private subplot for her. I feel like the Guardians would have considered the Eidolon contained by mags herself, even if she is protecting it.

After my next post, everyone will be together. If you want, you can describe previous events for your character in a flashback, but it isn't necessary.

@Prisk - That's wonderful, I'm still debating on what happened to Mags, it could leave to many possible scenarios. She suddenly vanishes once again, with the possibility that she revives and comes back at a later conclusion. That would work well with my subplots concepts with Monika, confronting her mother and the basis of her own issues.

I don't think the Guardians would just let the Eidolon stay there with Mags. Thael's fairly committed to fighting what definitely seems like a hostile target at this point.

She'll probably play on defense, attempting to reason with Mags and even try to calm down her teammates. All of this would probably be ignored, but for the sake of plot and having another interaction with Rockette's character again, I think it'd be a good idea for Mags to get away. Or maybe she ends up forcing our characters to retreat somehow?

So I seem to be getting better when it comes to writing now and I do want to get back into the swing of things. So prepare for me to post soon, maybe tomorrow or the next day depending.

Just need to play catch up a bit to see where we are at at the Nexus Reactor, if someone wants to give me a brief description on what happened since I left off (which was Jaina's post) I'll be able to post quicker.

Sorry for the delay, I was just feeling so blah and I didn't wanna post anything in this sour mood I was in. But I am feeling tons better. I think my small vacation to Arizona helped out tremendously.
