[OOC] With Friends Like These: A Slice of Life RP Inspired by the Sitcom, Friends

Anastasias relationships

Rafe: I think Anastasia will feel distanced from Rafe as he reminds her of the career she could have gotten had she remained in education. This then reminds of her of her failing relationship with her father, something she isn't too keen on reminsicing on. However, I think that Rafe's chilled out nature will be something Stas will cling onto. Hope she doesn't take advantage of it though...

Avery: Despite Anastasias outgoing and demanding personality, I think she will enjoy the possibility of being Avery's protector (her sharp tongue will guarantee that). Avery being into photography could really come in handy with Anastasias modelling career, she could help her out with her portfolio or a comp card? Either way, her creative career is something she will be able to vibe with.

Maximus: As discussed, I think that Maximus and Averys friendship will start off with him being financially stable enough to support her, and Stas relying on this. Further down the line, a friendship will grow. His inability to feel anything during a 'relationship' is something Anastasia will find very intersting and I think she will enjoy the challenge of finding him someone who changes that. She will find comfort in their similarities, especially in the fact that he had such a rock history with his family. Their bond could be strengthened with her friendship with his sister, Julia.

Alexei: Anastasia will be find it easy to get along with Alexei, someone who is welcoming and polite. He would be a great counterbalance to her short fuse and often blunt way of conversating. I'm sure his IT skills will come in handy somewhere along the line, if he's willing to do Stas a favour.

Johanna: Yesss. Anastasia will immediately find a kindred spirit in Johanna, what with both of them being brash and outspoken. If Stas can find time in her hectic, and sometimes not too hectic, schedule she will definitely take some time to spend it with Johanna, bonding over some gossip or even partying it up in the night. Combined, they will be a force to be reckoned with ;p

Matt: I think Matt could possibly find Stas a bit too overpowering, especially with her not having much common ground with him to bond on. That being said, him not continuing on to college in the search of something more could be what she relates to. With Anastasias recklessness, she could either be too much for him to handle, or they could click.

Luci: Yessss again. Anastasia will love Luci's live fast outlook on life. They will most probably have everyones attention when they are together, whether its for a good or bad reason. Luci's money struggles will be something Stas can really relate to, and they can probably help each other out - maybe even Stas attempting to convince her to model.

Marcie: Marcies 'no filter' policy will probably be something Anastasia will crave on a night out or when she's in the mood to have fun. Work-wise? Marcie probably won't be the first person Stas will call. Her staying true to her dream is something Anastasia will be able to relate to as her career is rocky at the best of times and she's attempting to stay strong also.

Hmm, I'm starting to think that the only reason everyone is gonna hang around Spence is because of the puppy... which is totally chilled with me. But anyway! Maybe the way they've met to start their friendship is they just bumped into one another on the staircase of the apartment complex or something and Pepper was hopping up the stairs behind Spence and well, it's all history from there, because anyone who loves and fawns over Pepper is an instant friend of Spencer's! I can see these two growing fairly close, to be honest, especially if they ever open up about their pasts to one another.

Okay, now I promise I'm working on my own list, and will add the relationships that have already been agreed upon in there, as well.

My Kind Nerd
Relationship: Matt and Johanna have a very love/hate relationship. One moment they are cheerful and teasing and even just the slightest tease gone too far sends Johanna off the handle. They don't fight for long though, and make up as quickly as they are dismantled. Warren was Matt's boss once, and it was noted in Jojo's mind that when the shit hit the fan- that Matt was on HER side, even if it resulted in him losing his job. She often buys him superhero knick knacks that she sees online, even though she doesn't know who all of them are or why they are in leotards. It keeps him happy though.

My Night Owl
Relationship: Luci and Johanna are relatively good friends, but they tend to push one another over the edge when it comes to partying. "ONE. MORE. SHOT." is something that they often are slurring at one another by the end of the night. She has had to hold this girl's hair back while she vomits one too many times, but she definitely doesn't mind as long as Luci would do the same.

Relationship: Anastasia and Johanna together is like a Michael Bay movie- EXPLOSIONS! They both have big personalities and often are a bit too overwhelming when they are together. There are fights are the most deadly, and they will claw at one another's soul when it get's too bad. Thankfully they haven't ever had that moment- but definitely have bumped heads now and again. Johanna won't admit to it, but she admire's Anastasia for not only her beauty but her strength.

Relationship: Marcie and Johanna are not the closest they could be, but Jojo can appreciate her for her outspoken nature and honesty when it comes to situations. Knowing that Marcie wants to become an actress, Johanna always is pushing articles under Marcie's bedroom door for things of "actresses needed" anytime she sees them- even when they aren't relevant to Marcie in the slightest. Need a 60 year old black woman? Johanna thinks Marcie could do it!

Relationship: Spence and Johanna have known one another since high school, crossing paths and becoming friends rather quickly. Time and unfortunate situations pushed them apart, but in an act of fate they found one another at the apartment complex. At first she wanted nothing to do with him, signing him off as another man who abandoned her, but after really speaking the two have then since reconnected and are stronger than ever. Jojo has to wonder if there is a reason they keep running into each other and teases him often that they are probably soulmates.

Relationship: Avery and Johanna are complete opposites, but in some odd way they balance one another out in this chaotic world. Johanna tends to come to Avery for the most realistic and grounded opinions, and when she needs a human version of a tranquilizer. Even though Avery is a couple years older, Johanna often calls her, her little baby- in a loving way. When Avery is feeling down about herself Jojo is first to tell her to, "SHUTUP, YOURE AMAZING. YOU GOT THIS!" and really mean it. When anyone comes over to her apartment, she has to point out that Avery shot some of the photos that are framed and scattered around.

My Odd Pinoy
Relationship: Max and Johanna have an odd relationship. She as a passionate lover, and albeit a bit on the ignorant side doesn't understand Max's asexual lifestyle. She even went as far as sending various people his way to see if he was just bluffing her out all this time. Long story short, none of the attempts worked, and Johanna was left looking foolish. The two have semi bonded over the experience but, she isn't too convinced just yet. Johanna knows Max has a lot of money but isn't impressed with any of it.

My Sturdy Confidant
Relationship: Rafe and Johanna are not very close, but she owes him so much, that she feels she can never make it up to him. Rafe helped her immensely with her divorce, knowing all the legal terms and hookups so that Johanna didn't get screwed out of everything before she even reached her mid 20's. These two do not party together, but sharing a slow drink at the bar and talking about the real gritty things in life are what these two are most likely to be doing.

Well, here's these, and I added some ideas to some of the relationships.

Rafe: Not only would these two get along over understanding the value of a buck, and over how hard they work to pay back Max's loan, but I can also see Spencer enjoying Rafe's easy-going nature because it is easier to rope him into things. Spence wouldn't purposefully take advantage of it, not at all, but he would enjoy that he could get Rafe to hang out with him a lot because he likes his dry sense of humor and sarcasm. Also, they can be drinking buddies, because Spence likes a good drink after a hard day at the hospital. Maybe that's how they even met; they both frequent the local pub and Spence bought Rafe a drink because he's a gentleman like that and they hit it off.

Avery: Because of Spencer's job, even with his loud personality, he knows how to flesh people out and so he would realize Avery is more quiet and he wouldn't be as loud around her; he wouldn't want to scare her away. But, he'd still be talkative, and more than likely shove Pepper at her every chance he got. Maybe these two met because Avery had a panic attack out in public and she was rushed to the hospital, it was so bad? And Spence was her nurse and now he's a bit protective of her and goes out of his way to talk her ear off (by the way, she will be the second character, if you agree, to have met Spence through the hospital. We have an accident-prone group of people here, I'm glad Spencer can take care of y'all lol!).

I can see Spence hearing about Max through the grapevine, so to say, and coming to him in an unhappy fashion for a small loan for rent that month because he might have gotten carried away by accident. Spence would probably do most of the talking between them, honestly, and being a naturally curious person, ask about his lifestyle (whenever he found out, I don't know how it would get brought up). Not rudely and he would apologize if he thought he said something offensive, but he would probably ask questions, and that might be a bit annoying. He'd also want to read his books, because Spence likes to read in his free time, or whenever he's on his breaks at the hospital. Hey, Max could also rope Spencer into liking anime, because Spence is really open about entertainment options, and I'm sure Max would love to convert someone else into anime.

Alexei: With Alexei being so friendly and open, Spencer would for sure get along with him. I'm sure these two would have easy and friendly conversations that Spence would enjoy and Spence would probably talk about Alexei's accent being cool a lot, because Spence is easily entertained. I can see these two getting introduced by someone, though, I can't think of way they met otherwise.

Johanna: I can't think of anything else to add to their relationship because we fleshed it out pretty well already lol. Besides that yes, Spencer will definitely go with the whole 'soul mate' teasing and probably always be picking her up around the waist and squeezing her into the hugs just because he can.

Matt: Like we said, they met through a hospital visit. I say they bonded over a Captain America t-shirt because win. I also like that they did go out; I can see Spence really liking Matt and I could see them quickly forming a tight relationship. Though, maybe Spencer doesn't push for another date because he doesn't wanna ruin the new, great friendship, and flirts openly with him (though, Spence is totally gonna be a big flirt anyway, how can he not be?) but also keeps his distance. I don't know, we'll see what happens in the rp with all that!

Anastasia: So, still on the fence about how they met, but I do wanna add, since Anastasia is so open and unreserved, this is probably someone Spencer will pick up in a hug and spin around for no reason, just because he can, and who he will talk excitedly at while always touching her hair and saying how much he loved it. I can just see that so clearly. I can also see him being very supportive of her in her career and always telling her he would help in any way he can.

Luci: Once again, someone else Spence can be loud with! Since Luci is so energetic, and does so much, maybe these two met jogging one day? Because Spence jogs or runs each chance he gets. Maybe they both were leaving the apartment complex at the same time in workout clothes and Spence was like yo, let's run together!, and well, they became jogging/running buddies!

Marcie: (we have the Joey of our group!) Spence doesn't get offended easily, at all, and so I can totally see him finding amusement in Marcie's personality, rather than being turned off by it. He would probably enjoy going out in public with her just to hear her talk and would get a kick out of it. Maybe they met through the butcher shop - Spencer wanted a big juicy steak for dinner one night and came in. Maybe he even thought Marcie was pretty and asked for her number. He called, they went out, and Marcie was, well, Marcie but Spencer found her funny instead and asked to be friends, and they've been friends ever since. I can see him being very supportive of her, too, and always teasing her about her brash nature, telling her to 'lighten up' or something.

Relationship towards them: Highly respected friend.
How does your character personally feel about this person?: I think secretly Matt looks up to Rafe. He just seems to have everything together. Regardless of how much he actually does, he always seems like it.

Avery Rydell
Relationship: A little stand-offish.
Feelings: Doesn't fully trust Avery. He's ran into girls that look like her before. There's something intriguing though. Something he can't quite figure out. It's that thing that allows him to try to build a friendship.

Maximus Santos
Relationship: Friends
Feelings: Max seems to be a very understanding fella. He helped Matt out, and it's a debt that Matt intends to pay back. In the meantime, Matt's going to do all he can to crack Max's fairly serious demeanor.

Alexei Malakav
Relationship: Friends
Feelings: Matt is excited to learn more about Alexei. He has a bit of a disillusion of grandeur about him. In Matt's mind Alexei is a trained assassin, or a brutal bare knuckles fighter, or just an all around rough guy.

Johanna Sanchez
Relationship: My sister from another mister...
Feelings: They fight, they get on each others nerves, but at the end of the day there's a connection that's real. Matt working for Warren in the past may occasionally bring out some hard emotions, but Matt enjoys knowing that Johanna trusts him.

Anastasia Carver
Relationship: Good Friends
Feelings: She's beautiful. When Matt pursued his bet of going out with a model, Stas wasn't anything like he thought she'd be. Although the attempt was unsuccessful, Matt kind of sees himself as a protector. He does what he can to keep Stas away from the wrong kinds of people.

Luci Becker (Haven't discussed anything so this can definitely change!)
Relationship: Great Friends
Feelings: Luci is the kind of person Matt can hang out with and shut his mind off. There are a lot of natural similarities between the two, and that has always put Matt at ease around her. He wishes maybe she'd slow down a bit, but there's better than sitting with her with a beer in hand, and nothing going on.

Marcie Belmonte (also haven't discussed, just a guess)
Relationship: Friends
Feelings: Matt can't help but find Marcie funny, even when she's not trying to be. He finds himself apologizing to her a lot! He doesn't purposely try to annoy her, but some of her mannerisms are just so uniquely amazing in his eyes, he can't help but laugh.

Spencer Rivera
Relationship: Best Friends
Feelings: Spencer's hours may not leave them much time to actually hang out, but when they do it's as if they both take on different personalities. There's a comfort, and a freedom that lets them be themselves. Which in general is pretty carefree and happy. When hanging with Spence, everyone around them is going to have a good time whether they like it or not! (Note for me: Shared interests play a part too)

So yea I was thinking either Rafe or Spencer for a roommate, but I'm open to whatever! All of this is open to change too! Some of those feelings about people will obviously change as the story advances.

I could see this, tbh! Rafe would probably not quite understand why Stas is so distant, but at the same time, I think he would just give her space for the most part unless she actually starts a conversation.

Sounds good to me! I was actually thinking that, although she's very friendly with Anastasia, Avery could perhaps feel a little jealous towards the girl. Nothing, malicious, more just wishful thinking that she could be more like her with her stunning looks and ease of confidence. Also, in return for her photographing Anastasia whenever she wanted, perhaps Anastasia could help Avery find a job, seeing as her line of work has plenty of openings for photographers.
