[IC] Kingdom Hearts: Signs of Zodiac

Riku stood up from his chair in the basement. He looked to the mirror which showed Joshua standing alone in the empty void. "Mirror! Bring him back." he said with his arms crossed. "Of course Master Riku." the Mirror spoke. An orb of light came out of the mirror which contained Joshua. The orb stopped above the ground and released Joshua. It went back to the mirror and the Magic Mirror's mask appeared again.

"Thank you for your services Mirror." Riku said followed by a nod. "Always am glad to be. Seems like the boy finally found his real key." the Mirror said, and although speaking monotone, you could kinda hear he was happy. Riky grabbed the blanket again and threw it over the mirror. He turned to Joshua again. He was very impressed by Joshua's performances, and thought he put up a good fight, but he didn't need to say that. Joshua already knew that himself.

"So boy. To which world are you headed next? I have heard from Master Yen Sid that you and your group are on a mission to find the signs. I wish I could help, but I have to stay here and protect the master, as well as assist him. You do have a list of which world contain the signs right?" Riku asked curious as he wanted to know which worlds were still left, and if there were some he could recommend going to first.

Thomas suggestion to split up was a good idea, yet dangerous. The Heartless they faced in the main hall were no challenge, but they didn't know what kind of Heartless were deeper in the castle. No, she was strong now, and independent woman, she could handle this herself. She just likes hanging out with Thomas though. He doesn't say much, but he is good company, a good friend. But him being the leader, he knows best.

"Okay Thomas. I will go and skim through the upper level, then you can do the base level." she said and waited for Thomas to reply and otherwise would just go. The Heartless in the main hall had not respawned yet, which she was happy about. She wasn't in the mood to fight, she got too much on her head now. Searching Reno was the main one, but also worrying about Thomas. The took the stairs up and defeated a few soldiers that were on the corridor of the upper floor. A simple Thunder Dash and an occasional stab would do the trick. She felt really weird though. It didn't seem like anyone was inhabiting this castle, or at least no one was near the entrance of it. She assumed that Reno might by higher up. Maybe looking for a strong enemy of the throne room or something. Without returning to Thomas she decided to just head towards there, thinking that Reno is there.

"Amaya, that's not true," Ascot decided to interrupt. "You saved both me and Thomas when Joshua fell to his darkness in Narnia. I thought that was the destruction of all our hopes, but you, your proved that wrong when you rescued Joshua from what had consumed him. As for being horrible at fighting, you're getting better, and I'm sure that my new mom and I can teach you some new tricks."

Then, the boy turned towards Elyse.

"Say, wanna hear a song, Elyse?" If she nodded, Ascot would sing:

"A true, true friend helps a friend in need, A friend will be there to help them see..."

"I don't know... depends on the answers I get." Joshua said to Riku before heading upstairs. He arrived in time to hear the last of Amaya's comments about herself. He silentl crept up on her before he wrapped his arms around her" You know, if you only caused pain you no one would want to be around you. Yet here are alot of people who enjoy your company, no matter what happens. I'd say it's safe to say that you're not useless or a causer of pain. You bring joy to other people and they only feel pain when you're sad. So cheer up and smile so the rest of us can."

Giving her a quick peck on the cheek he let go of her and turned to Rose and Elyse
"Didn't expect to see you two here but it's nice to see you. I trust you're both doing well." He said before turning to Yen Sid." Master Yen Sid, I got a few questions for you. I know you know alot about what's happening to people. You watch the stars constantly for signs. I'm hoping you could tell me a bit more about our companions Reno and Thomas. They both seem to be having problems and I'd like to know if you know anything about them before deciding what our next move is."

Elyse listened to both Ascot and Joshua but mostly Ascot, since she liked the song he was singing. When he finished she clapped her hands and gave him a bright smile'
"Again!" she demanded

"It seems you got Elyse's approval....welcome to the family Ascot "said rose sitting elyse down by Ascot as she turned towards amaya"you know that is not true...you are very loved and wanted...look at radiant gardens...you have so many there that cared for you ever since I was able to bring you into this world"she said "you were able to change Joshua from how he use to be to who he is today. The most important weapon one owns that is most powerful is the heart. It is stronger then any magic "she commented with a smile

Amaya listened to her mother then Ascot before she let outs gasp when she felt Joshua hug her from behind "thanks everyone...Joshua I am so happy to see you passed the test and is back here safely"she said as rose smiled ruffling Joshua's hair "good to see you are still too stubborn to go down ...welcome back and I am only here cause elyse absolutely wanted to see master Yen Sid for some odd reason...hey. elyse unca. Joshua is here"she added

Thomas walked over to the door and nodded in agreement. "Sounds like a plan." The two of them exited before branching out, Belle heading upstairs while he took the main floor. It was a casual stroll, him moving from one room to another in an organized fashion as he looked to see what he could find. There were some Heartless still around, but it wasn't too much of an issue to deal with them, since they came in small packs, not the large numbers that were so common on the other worlds they'd been to thus far. He supposed the other area of his search, besides finding Reno was finding a library, maybe a vault. His goal was to find tomes, artifacts, something to increase his magical abilities, give him an edge. And why not? The castle may be dark and spooky, but it was also old, and so odds were that the previous inhabitants may have left something behind. and finding that would be useful indeed, if the voice in his head was speaking rightly.

"Okay, Elyse," spoke Ascot, and he sang 'A true, true friend' again, smiling as he did so. At the same time, his heart was glad. This was how he had felt when his parents were still alive; the boy had never forgotten that despite his early loss. Then, Rose broke in to confirm that Ascot was now part of the family, something that caused the young Paladin's happiness to shoot up the roof.

"Welcome back, Joshua," spoke Ascot. "Did you come to the same revelation that Riku did, then? What methods did Master Yen Sid use?" The boy then smiled, and continued:

"You seem confident, and happy. That's always good to hear." Joshua was now more powerful than ever, but Ascot didn't mind now. What mattered was that he had someone new to protect, a child that loved his music.

The searching party for Hen Wen, consisting out of Taran, Eilonwy, Gurgi, Fflam, Jake and Reno, were making their way out of the dungeon. Jake made a good formation which would get them safely out of the dungeons. Jake and Reno being on the front, Taran guarding the back, and the other three safely in the middle. There surprisingly weren't any Heartless in the dungeons, only skeleton guards. It was relatively easy to get out of the old dungeon, they also seemed to be the only ones imprisoned there.

A stairs led up to a big hall out of the dungeons, in the castle. A huge table was placed in the middle with candles, rotten food, and many spiderwebs. Some broken and normal chairs standing, of laying around the table. A dusty, spiderweb filled, chandelier was hanging on the ceiling and the rest of the room was empty only being filled with dust and spiderwebs. "Seems like no one is here." Eilonwy said. "Hen Wen is probably already up in the castle with the king." she looked up.

"Then we just will have to make our way up there!" Taran said brave. "With three strong wa--" Taran was interrupted by the doors at the other end opening. A little green creature wearing a purple cloak, stumbled its way through the chamber holding a few bowls which probably contained prisoner food. When he looked up he saw the group standing at the other end and dropped the bowls.

"Intruders!!! Intruders!!! Summon the Heartless!!!" Creeper shouted loudly. In no time the room was filled with Wyverns, Landwyrms and Darkballs. Creeper jumped on the back of one of the Wyverns. "Take me to the Horned King. He has to be alarmed." the Wyvern turned away from the battle and flew out of the chamber towards where the Horned King should be. "Eilonwy, stay back. Fflam, Gurgi protect her. I will fight these creatures of the Horned King." he readied his enchanted sword and rushed into battle.

The Wyvern with Creeper on his back flew through the castle. Belle, who was making her way deeper into the castle saw the passing Wyvern, and decided to follow it. A single Heartless flying through the air was very suspicious. Maybe it would even lead to where Reno is. The Wyvern eventually reached the place where The Horned King was. It was a big round room stationed in the top of the castle. In the middle was a Black Cauldron, and somewhere in the corner was a cage with the locked up Hen Wen.

"Master, master! The prisoners have escaped, and they are going to take the pig!" he said on his annoying voice. Creeper however didn't notice that his master had company. Next to him were standing Maleficent and Pete. "Good, now go disgusting creature. We are having some grown-up talk." Maleficent said. Pete picked Creeper up and threw him out of the door. "I didn't know that a sign could also be inside of someone." Maleficent said. "The organization was right."

"And by putting Hen Wen into this cauldron, it will not only grant you that sign, it will also awaken my army of the undead. So I can finally take over this whole world and engulf it with darkness." The Horned King spoke. Maleficent chuckled. "You must know how many times I have seen someone being consumed by the darkness themselves in the process." the Horned King grunted. "That won't happen to me, witch." suddenly a corridor of darkness opened and a person in a black coat stepped out of it.

"I will take over from here. You return to the base." the voice said. Maleficent left displeased along with Pete through the corridor of darkness, which closed immediately afterwards. "They won't be getting the sign this time." the voice said.

[Renose]

"What a waste of good food..." Reno noticed the food on the table as they entered, the food rotting and uneaten. Reno disliked wasting food, so seeing all of this food here neglected upset him. "It makes a cook sad when one just doesn't able to finish their meal. Even worse if its just left at the table". Reno never wasted food, ever. Leftovers were a different story. To him those were alright, not that he ever left any. In fact, he was just about to pull a chocolate bar from his pack when suddenly the doors at the other end of the dining hall opened and them some strange green creature entered the hall holding bowls of food.

Reno was about to give a friendly greeting, but then the creature suddenly began to shout and called forth a bunch of Heartless before speeding off on the back of one. "The direction Mr. Goblin went in must be where Mr. Pig is!" As he shouted this his glove appeared on his hand. The glove was the same blue color as the shaft of his Keyblade with a pentagram, or magic circle, on the back of it. Hanging from its wrist was the same keychain that hung off his Keyblade. He knew now that they needed to get through quickly before something bad happened to the pig as even Reno understood priorities and the need for haste.

With that in mind he waved his hand at the group of Heartless while uttering one word. "Lit" With that single quick hand gesture and word a very large, powerful surge of lightning bolts seemed to spawn above the heartless, the lightning slamming into all of them as fast as well...lightning, which moves at about 140,000 mph, so it was pretty quick. Reno did not stop there though as with a few more snaps of his fingers, not having to utter 'Lit' with the snaps, several more of the incredibly powerful and large surges of lightning would slam into the Heartless as he cast the spell with rapid repetition, hoping to quickly dispatch these Heartless so they could go rescue the pig, who Reno assumed to be important to the bard in more ways than one.

Fortunately these Heartless weren't all that tough. With just one short series of two snaps after the initial cast of Lit, with three mighty surges of lightning in a row being set off against these Heartless, there were none left. The battle, for Reno, ended nearly as quickly as it had began. "It'll be dangerous ahead, so ill go chase after Mr. Goblin and see if he knows where your friend is". With that Reno jumped up, his Glider appearing beneath him, and the moment he landed on it he shot forward after Creeper like a rocket, heading in the same direction as the Goblin since he assumed that where the Goblin was heading would be where this 'Horned King' was.

Yen Sid looked back with a frown towards Joshua. "I'm afraid, both are not doing well." he said with his deep voice. "From what I can pick up, there is nothing wrong with Reno at the moment. He is in Prydain now, but I don't feel anything strange. Unfortunately I don't have any more information for you, besides that what you already know. Thomas however, I feel a darkness brewing inside of him. It is being pushed back by the power of the keyblade, however I will wonder how long it will last." Yen Sid looked at Riku.

"Master Riku, in this situation, could you do something about it?" he asked. Riku shook his head. "Unfortunately neither me, nor the Magic Mirror, can do something about this kind of darkness. It seems like he does have it under control, but holds it back for some reason. Sorry, I also can't provide more information master." Yen Sid nodded to Riku with meaning that it was enough. "That is all the information we have for you. I do have one question for you, and also the rest of your team. Which world is next on your list?"

Jake had gotten complacent with the skeletons that he forgot that the Horned King had more than undead roaming his halls. He was getting closer to finding the pig and getting out of there when he suddenly ran into none other than the little green imp the King had for an errand... thing. When he saw Creeper face to face, he turned and tried to throw his axe at the goblin, only to miss him by a hair as Kaiser Leo slammed into a wall, cracking it open and causing sparks to blast up everywhere.

"BLAST!" Jake swore, summoning Kaiser Leo back in his hand as the Heartless appeared, only to have Reno vanquish them quickly. No sooner had the kid done his little pyrokinetics act than he ran after Creeper, hoping to find the pig.

"KID! COME BACK HERE!!" Jake cried out. However, by then, Reno had darted off, oddly quick for such a slight frame. Jake swore; the kid was impressive, true, but he had the guile and cunning of a brick wall. Normally, Jake would admire that kind of dogged determination; he himself was something of a go-getter when he was younger, still was to some degree. However, with a bunch of civilians slowing them down and them soon to be up to their armpits in Heartless, it wasn't the smart thing to do. Not to mention that Creeper was smaller, more agile, and had a lot more knowledge of the intricacies of the castle than Reno did.

"Alright, change of plans," Jake said, gesturing for the others to follow him. "We need to get out of here fast, cause I don't think the Horned King's messing around anymore. We head for the exit, and we run like we're chased by dragons cause we most likely will be.

"And before you protest," he said to Taran, "we need to get to safety first; Reno can handle himself, but we can't burden him with people who can't fight. We make a break for the exit. If you still want to come back and fight, stick with me after that."

Jake lead the group, taker a hastier route through the castle to the exit, using force and concussive blasts of magic to clear through any mercenaries, undead, Heartless, or other monsters in their way. He stopped once or twice to see if he could still see flashes of lightning from the building, the telltale marks of Reno engaging in another battle.

[Flamelord]

Still nothing had revealed itself to Thomas, some relic of power, item of knowledge. It was annoying and perhaps even frustrating, though it should not have been the focus of his search in the first place. But he was confident that Reno was fine, since even if he got in a jam he could just hide in his Glider if his magic couldn't suffice, and if there was something that Reno with his magic couldn't beat then he probably had less of a chance of defeating it. So he took his time in his search, making sure it was all good and methodical even though it yielded no tangible results.

Still, it seemed that it was a good thing he had done so, for it meant he was better able to hear when noise did reach his ears. It was the sound of clashing blades, of magic blasts, and at that sound he pulled out his Keyblade and moved towards it, reasoning that it might be Belle or Reno. He moved fast, the sound of battle nearing until he reached them, waiting for a momentary lull to move out into the open around a corner, Keyblade in a ready position. To his surprise, it was not, in fact, Reno or Belle, and he reacted accordingly, shifting slightly in preparation for a fight. "Alright, good guy or bad guy," he called out, not dropping his guard for the moment.

"Gee, I dunno, junior," Jake quipped. "One barbarian, one dog-thing, two kids, and an old bard... we're quite the terrifying bunch.

"Name's Jake," he replied more seriously, lowering his key-axe just a bit. "This isn't a social visit, I gather; meeting two keyblade wielders in a day doesn't just happen.

"Right now, though, we need to get out of here, or we'll be up to our ears in Heartless. Apparently, the landlord subcontracted out his security, and there's another keyblade user further up. You want to help, help me get these civilians out of the castle, then we get right back up and kick Heartless tail. How's that sound?"

[Joshua Tamashii]

Joshua listened to Yen Sid and Riku, taking their words into consideration.
"Well that truly depends. On one hand we could stay here in Twilight Town and explorer a bit. On the other we just move to whichever world Thomas and the rest aren't on so we can get a sign before them and keep it from Thomas, in the hopes that will help keep the darkness he has growing in him under control." He said" However, this is not my decision alone. I got two others who have a say and I would like to have their input on this as well. And Amaya I swear you better not say whichever is fine. Give me an OPINION for once."

Elyse was begging Ascot to sing the song again, seeing how many times she could get him to sing it. Plus she liked it.

Belle followed the Wyvern without getting noticed. It landed in front of the chamber of The Horned King. The Wyvern kept waiting while the Creeper went inside, this was her chance. As quick as possible Belle performed a Sneak Attack which assassinated the Heartless rather quickly. Shortly afterwards the door opened again. Belle quickly hid behind the door, as Creeper was thrown outside of it, the doors closing again behind him. Belle rushed towards the creepy green little creature and grabbed his collar and pushed him against the nearest wall.

He was very light, so it was easy to lift him up against the wall. It almost took no strength. With her other hand she quickly grabbed a kunai from her equipment and held it to the throat of Creeper. "Okay, where is Reno? And what plans does your king have? Yes I already figured out you are the right-hand man of a king, so don't try to hide it. He probably has a plan and maybe even a Zodiac Sign in his possession, hasn't he?" Belle said intimidating. She liked this kind of stuff, it has been a while since she had done this. Maybe the latest time was back in Traverse Town... no she probably did it a few times too during her travels.

Then she saw Reno landing near her. "Reno? You're here! Me and Thomas have been looking for you!" she said and turned to the Creeper in her hands. "Scrap the first question, but be sure to answer them after I had my talk with my friend." she said tightening her grip on Creeper and her kunai.

[Renose]

Reno flew quickly after the small goblin, hoping to find where this Horned King was and save Hen Wen. He had no idea about a Zodiac Sign, but compared to saving someone the Zodiac Sign possessed absolutely no significance to Reno. In fact, he forgot about the potential for one being here completely in his desire to save Hen Wen. Of course, Reno did not find the Horned King or Hen Wen when he got to just outside of the Horned King's chamber he found Belle shoving the goblin against the wall roughly. Reno smiled at her as he jumped off his Glider, the book disappearing and returning to being a glove on his hand with a small flash of light.

"Ring, I didn't know you were here. When did you get here? Did you get here the same way I did? Cause I don't really remember how I got here... Also where are the others?" He asked these questions rather quickly in his usual fashion, but following his famously short attention span he quickly looked to Creeper, than to the large door in front of them. "Ah, but there's no time to answer that. The King guy is going to do something to When Pig according to Bard-san, so I need to hurry". He quickly moved past Belle, waving his hand at the door as a mighty blast of wind came forth, bashing the door open as Reno quickly entered the chamber of the Horned King, looking around and seeing the pig.

"I've come to save you When Pig". He gave the pig a friendly wave and a grin before looking at the Horned King and the figure in the cloak. "Umm...I need to take When Pig back with me, cause he is my friend's friend. So please don't try to stop me Skeleton King".

[Flamelord]

For some reason, perhaps the throbbing dark wound in his arm, Thomas didn't react well to the sarcasm directed at him. "Thanks old timer, but I bet you know that line about deceiving appearances as well as I do." He lowered his guard and his weapon, straightening from the crouch to face this other group. "Name's Thomas." His eyes widened slightly at the mention of another Keyblade wielder further up, and he had an idea as to whom that was. "Sounds fine by me, I guess," he replied, deferring authority to the older figure as much as it may rankle him. "Good to know Reno is here," he muttered as he fell in with the group, moving back out towards the exit.

Once the group reached the exit they stepped outside. Of course Thomas and Jake were to go back inside to fight The Horned King and get Hen Wen back, and Reno, however Taran wanted to come along with him, as it was his task to protect Hen Wen from the dangers of The Horned King. Taran turned to Eilonwy, Gurgi and Fflawddur. "You guys stay here. Jake, Thomas and I will go and fight the Horned King, we are strong enough to defeat him with the three of us." he said brave.

"Of course my young fellow. I would only be a bother in the field of battle." the bard said with a smile. "Of course Taran! I will protect bardie over here and the young lady." Gurgi replied with his still weird voice. Eilonwy walked over to Taran and hugged him. "Return safe. I don't want you or anyone else to get taken by The Horned King." Eilonwy said.

"Don't worry Eilonwy. We will all return home together." he said with a smile on his face and headed back into the castle along with the two elder warriors. "Are you ready guys?"

Like Reno already said himself, she didn't have the time to answer all of those questions. However she was kinda surprised, not really actually because it was Reno, that he immediately headed into the chamber of The Horned King. "Reno!" Belle said a bit angry because he headed in there all alone. She threw away Creeper who immediately started to fall down the stairs. Belle joined Reno's side and saw the skeleton-like undead king stand in front of her. She wasn't frightened a bit upon seeing him. It was just another freak creature nature decided to put on this world. Belle turned her head to Reno. "And if he wants to fight we can take him on easily. The Heartless under his command are nothing compared to the ones we fought in Narnia." she commented.

The Horned King laughed. "It is also not the Heartless you have to be scared about. My skeleton army is almost at its completion, and then this tiny world shall be mine." he laughed. "And if you want to stop me, go ahead, because I'm not the only one present in this room." he laughed again. From around the corner a masculine person in a black coat appeared. He pulled his hood down and revealed his peach skin, blue hair and glasses.

"Hey guys and gals. Dunno if you remember me, but let me properly introduce myself again. My name is Mika, and you could see me as the smartest one of the Six Senses, but my power is greater than that of any of you guys here in the room." he added a crazy chuckle afterwards. I shall already tell you my special ability is Olfaction, not that any of you know what that actually means." he chuckled again. "Wow, it really looks like I'm doing all of the talking here guys, right Horned King." he glanced over to him but didn't give him to time to respond. "However let's start this battle, or actually this beatdown."

While Mika was talking Belle already has whispered to Reno that she will take on the Horned King and free Hen Wen. It was obvious that Mika was the greater treat in the room, so it would be better if Reno took him on. Once Mika was done talking, Belle rushed pass The Horned King with a Thunder Dash making him unable to touch her in the process. Belle quickly was near the cage of Hen Wen. She grabbed her dagger and cut the bars of the cage she was in. The pig made a sound of happiness, but quickly a frightened face appeared on her face. Belle noticed that her plan had failed, it appeared she did not have the same leadership skills as Thomas, but neither did Reno.

The Horned King had spawned a few of his skeletons to slow him down from attacking Mika. The blue haired guy however was standing behind Belle and spit out a gas from both his mouth and nose. Both Belle and Hen Wen passed out because of the smell. It was an ammonium carbonate gas that Mika had spit out, a gas that makes you pass out. Mika grabbed Belle and held her underneath his arm. He opened a corridor of darkness and turned his head to The Horned King. "Take care of the following brats, from what I have heard they are weaker than these two. I will personally fight this little one here, but for that I need a change of location." he stepped through the portal leaving the Horned King behind with the passed out Hen Wen and Reno.

[Renose]

Reno was prepared to take on the Horned King. He did not like fighting, but knew that if they could just free the pig then they could get everyone to safety and formulate a plan for stopping whatever the Horned King was planning. Reno knew it was something, he just didn't know the exact details. Regardless, Reno knew that he would have to fight. Hearing Belle's plan he just nodded, preparing to take on Mika while Belle took on the Horned King. That, however; was not what happened at all. Right when the battle began, which was when Mika stopped talking about whatever, Belle immediately dashed towards the pig and cut it free.

Right as Belle did this Reno launched a large blast of wind using Aeroja right at Mika with a snap of his gloved fingers, but he moved out of the way to Belle instead, knocking her and Hen Wen out with some strange gas. "P-Put her down!" Reno shouted at Mika as he took Belle underarm, glaring at Mika as Mika talked about a change of location. He knew that with Belle in the enemy's arm like that she was in a large amount of danger, but Reno didn't want to abandon Hen Wen either. He had no idea what to do as Mika opened up the Corridor of Darkness and stepped inside.

Something though... something deep within him told him he should go. Reno didn't know what it was, but he thought of Jake and the others. He had no idea that Thomas was there, but knew that the others could save Hen Wen from the Horned King. Deciding that saving Belle was also very important he rushed to the portal, but not before waving his hand at the passed out Hen Wen. A cage of dark ice formed around Hen Wen, Reno hoping that it could protect the pig long enough for the others to save her from the Horned King while he went to go save Belle. There was something different about the darkness in and around the ice though. Unlike the ominous darkness of the castle, this darkness was quite the opposite. Pure and uncorrupted. Very serene, like the gentle darkness of a peaceful night.

After creating the cage Reno rushed into the portal without a second thought, not knowing where it was going, but knowing that on the other side were Mika and Belle, who was currently unconscious and captured by Mika.

[Letter Bee]

"Aww, you're so cute! All right, I'll sing the song again." And, Ascot sang 'A True, True Friend' another time, before finally turning towards Joshua.

"Actually, Joshua, remember what we talked about before, about Nobodies? I'd like to explore the place to see if we can meet a few. Before that, though, I'd like to train with Mom; see how much I can learn from her. I'd also like to learn Aerial Recovery and that Range Extension thing from you, if you're willing." Ascot was already anticipating his first meeting with Sapient Nobodies; if they haven't regrown their hearts yet, can he fight them? If they have regrown their hearts, can he be friends with them?
