I think there are far more important things to worry about than people calling their characters "muses".

A second reminder that I'm looking for victims and blackened for the next two chapters. I'm not going to have anyone killed right away, but it would be good if we could start discussing the crime via pm ahead of time to make sure things work out smoothly in the court of carnage.

right after I kill Mary for touching my fucking waifu. NO ONE GETS THE COOKIE EXCEPT ME, THE MOTHERFUCKING COOKIE MONSTER!

We got our first case, boss.

This... all I can say to this is....

One by one, Krista’s fellow Infinites voted for their chosen sacrifice after her. She wanted to ask everyone who they voted for, hoping they’d voted for themselves rather than sentence an innocent to their sacrificial fate. She didn’t trust Monokuma or the Carnage Sisters. The usually cheerful blonde looked weary, her lips pulled down into a frown instead of its usual smile. The light-heartedness she wanted to bring to everyone didn’t feel right in a situation like this: even she could admit that.

The guilt still ate at her. She voted herself, but it felt selfish. What were her chances of being voted by someone else if she voted for herself? Unless Calvin really hated those jokes from earlier, Krista felt she had tried to keep everyone happy and stayed in their good books—even those she did not have a chance to talk with yet. She remained quiet, keeping a watchful eye on the mechanical bear as she waited for a plot twist.

And a plot twist came in the form of the blonde free runner, Felix. The boy expertly scaled the spikes, and Krista watched in astonishment. It was like watching a car crash afterwards: she couldn’t look away. She was awed by his skill, but when she saw Geina readying herself to fire at the Infinite, her throat closed up in shock. Luckily, she did not have to cry out a warning to Felix, as Shona sliced the arms off the sister before anything could happen.

Watching Felix and Shona defy Monokuma the way they were made Krista feel a little hopeful. Scared, but hopeful. If they could fight against the despair, then why couldn’t she? Albeit she had no skills to offer — she couldn’t even form a string of sentences beautifully like Daimyon was.

Nariko soon followed Geina, then Willow, as Shona cut through each sister with amazing strength and willpower. Krista cringed as Willow got crushed under her horse, but felt no remorse. She found herself shouting along, adding to Daimyon’s poetry with her own shouts of encouragement to both the Knight and Free Runner, the heroes of the night—

Only for everything to fall apart as quickly as it began.

A spike pierced Felix’s shoulder, causing the poor boy to collapse on top of Calvin. Shona was met with a stronger rival, and moments later… she was pinned against the wall with the spear through her chest, keeping her suspended in the air uncomfortably. There was no way out for Shona, this was it… Krista didn’t realise when she started screaming, but her throat felt hoarse. She couldn’t ask— no, beg Monokuma for mercy. Krista looked at Shona, feeling the hope drain away as the two heroes fell right in front of her…

And she could do nothing.

Krista collapsed onto her knees, her hands covering her face. She couldn’t see the bloody carnage in front of her. It was too much. Shona’s bloody smile was burned into her eyes, and Krista did all she could to rub it away. She wept, feeling the despair Monokuma loved. If the Knight couldn’t help them out, who could?

Krista could barely listen as Monokuma continued as if nothing had happened. He announced the sacrificial lamb— or, well, three of them. She kept her hands pressed against her face, still on her knees. She could do nothing but listen as Monokuma shamefully admitted to orchestrating this whole situation just to kill Shona. She did nothing while Rika, Quill and Mason were lead away towards the elevator— feeling both jealous and scared for them. They weren't going back home, were they? Krista didn't want to ask. She had had enough of today.

Lucas stepped out of one of the elevators into a scene that resembled a horror movie: people huddled in an area, some of whom were crying and a body pinned against the wall using a spear. It was the smile that caught Lucas's eye. Smiling even in death? What sort of hell did he just wake up into?

He took another step away from the safety of the elevator and into the bloodbath. The two-toned bear explained something about a killing game, and Lucas's heart picked up immediately. He did not like this one bit. There were some rules, he noted to check out later, but first...

He looked over some of the Infinites, particularly at the ones that looked like they were in despair. One was being comforted by a boy with his face covered in a large scarf, and two girls were collapsed on the floor in tears. Lucas walked carefully towards one that was closest towards him, a blonde with her face covered by her hands, kneeling beside her and carefully placing a hand on her shoulder for comfort. The girl jolted at the touch causing her hands moving away to expose her face, her eyes alarmingly red from the tears. The tears did nothing but bring out the green in them.

Lucas flashed her a smile, a smile that did not belong in a situation as grim as this. "It's okay," he said, looking her in the eyes. "I'll save you."

Of course, this was a trap. Of fucking course. And not the pleasant Caora type of trap either. Krista's hands pressed itself against her mouth to muffle any embarrassing squeals - though it seemed that Mary had the embarrassing reaction covered. She squeezed closer to the infinite, eyeing Narika with suspicion.

Krista chewed her lips. Mondatta offered himself as the sacrifice, but that wasn't right. They were all supposed to get out together, damn it! Davis voted for himself, and it looked like Mary had voted as well. Krista didn't listen to Cyrus - she couldn't. Her thoughts were too loud, Cyrus was just background noise to her as she tried to figure out what to do.

Krista wanted to go home, to hug her brother and forget about the awful predicament she and her fellow infinities have been forced into. She looked at her handbook before back at Calvin. If she voted for herself, what were the chances of her becoming the sacrifice? Krista looked at Mondatta, admiring him for his courage before choosing her own name and voting.

"I'm sorry, Mondatta, I... I cannot vote for you and leave here without a guilty conscience." She admitted, looking away from the admirable man-robot-monk hybrid in shame.
