“You sound crazy.”

Jess cringed a bit at that one, the comment while sighed still seemed too direct and to the point. Sure, she herself was skeptical of the idea that something supernatural was happening but flat out calling someone crazy was a bit harsh. She couldn’t really say anything though as she didn’t even know these people and maybe the two didn’t get along. Will seemed to be the outcast after all and if the girl was in with the popular loop it would make sense that they might not get along. Still, she really should have tried to consider the boy’s feelings a bit more though that was unlikely since the added words to her previous statement weren’t much better. This all suddenly seemed unbearably awkward and Jess worried about how the boy before them might react.

Honestly, he had taken it in stride with the words he first spoke but his body language said differently. The tight grip and the eyes glancing to the door as if wanting to escape spoke volumes that the girl's words had probably hurt him after all but it was the continuation of his initial statement that sent Jess reeling. Died? She felt her stomach drop instantly before twisting in knots at that. She had thought he was being the defending brother, not someone lost and looking for answers about his own sister. It made it even worse to hear that she had taken her own life and apparently, she was not the only one to do so. It made her think of her own mother's death and how she had been desperately trying to find answers after it happened, trying to look back for any signs that she might have missed, anything that she should have done differently. She knew that stinging pain and her heart went out to him in understanding.

Jess barely registered when he spoke to the rest of the group as she had been lost in the past but there was no missing when he brushed past them. She bit the inside of her cheek slightly, telling herself not to ask the other girl if it was really necessary to have said those things as nothing good would come of it. Instead, she turned heel and exited the dusty room. It was creepy as hell in there and that was not the type of history she had been wanting to find. What kind of town was this?! One thing was for sure, it felt wrong to let Will leave like this. It was probably gonna be a wild goose but if it helped him get closure then why not? She had nothing better to do and maybe she would learn more hearing from someone or multiple people who lived there then in these books.”Will! Wait up!”, she called, working to catch up with him.

Hathor has always been there, emerging from the primordial waters at the beginning of time. She has helped mortals with love and fertility, leading them to the creation of life. She is the one that has protected mothers as they carry and breathes life into every child born so they can take their first breath. It is said that her protection can even reach beyond those of mothers and in the past she was called upon by soldiers for her strength and concentration during battle but she will not confirm or deny these facts. Her protection does however extend beyond the living as she welcomes souls into the land of the dead, helping and protecting them on their journey into the afterlife.

Due to her being feminine in nature, Hathor’s sphere of influence included music, dance, and sexuality. Those features of hers has also made her the consort/mother of several Egyptian Gods. Another very important point worth mentioning is that she was one of the numerous deities that was seen as the Eye of Ra, i.e. the feminine component of Ra. In that state, Hathor was the deity that kept Ra safe from his enemies. It also brought out the other side of her, one dark, vicious, and blood-thristy. She did not only punish and bring destruction to those that had threatened Ra but went on a rampage which needed to be stopped by her fellow Gods and Goddesses. There are two sides to every kind and she is very much the holder of this truth.

𝗛𝗜𝗦𝗧𝗢𝗥𝗬

When Colossus happened, zapping her of her powers, it was no surprise that she was enraged at the very insult of it all. She had been there since the world first began and now she was reduced to that of almost a mere mortal! It made her blood boil and she wanted to take her frustration out on them, on Colossus, and just make a war path. Fortunately, she knew this would not be a possibility. She had witnessed every change, every moment, every growth, and every fall back of the humans....at least those within her realm. She knew them, knew their ways, and what she wished for could not be accomplished, especially if it was the same in lands beyond her previous reach. The real question was, what to do now? She couldn’t stay here. She needed answers, a way to stop all this.

It was that drive that had her wandering aimlessly from place to place. She tried to search, research, fight, and push back but all seemed fruitless. It had Hathor falling back into old habits such as partying and booze. She was on a downward spiral, her life just becoming a mess and a blur of days as she tried to figure out where to even start. She had no past, a horrible present, and a not so bright future. It all felt hopeless. Waking up in an alley with no memory as to how she had gotten there had been her wake up call. She was better than this. If she was forced to live a mortal life then by damn she wasn’t going to waste it laying in filth. She worked hard to build a convincing life for herself, never having been one to frolic with humans before this unless you count joining the occasional festival or being a mass of destruction in search for more blood to sate a never ending thirst which she did not.

Once everything looked in order and no one would question her, she started to settle down in a place near the Colossus, still determined to find a way out of its hold. She took up a job as a bartender at one of the clubs in Seattle, wanting to still be a part of the party, booze, and lust but maybe not go over the top. She DJs now and then to really get the place jumping, draw in more people. It had been a rush to find a new creative outlet and try something she had never done or heard before. It was a new and exciting type of sound that she wanted to be a part of for every moment. She won’t say things are perfect in the world she has created for herself but she is finding it at least a little more enjoyable of a cage.

She would do anything to keep Tlaz safe and will always be there for her to lend an ear or support her where she can. This is the kind of woman that deserves to be loved and cared for which is why Yasmin has made it her mission to find someone amazing for Tlaz. The “illicit” dealings in the club worry her, not wanting Tlaz to get into any trouble but at the same time, she is trying to remember to trust her friend.}

She would probably go even if she didn’t love tea just to be in the comforting atmosphere of her place and to check up on her fellow Egyptian. Their past duties blend closely which has given them a very good understanding of each other and what they have gone through. Yasmin lives for the nights where they just meet up to have a horror movie fest to laugh at while having tea and alcohol. This is the one person that she doesn’t feel like she has to worry about.}

It wouldn’t change or effect the positive feelings she has for Bastet. If she was in trouble and needed help, even after a current fight then Yasmin would be there and Heaven, Hell, or any other afterworld wouldn’t be able to stop her.}

<sub>HADES; is someone that she has grown to care deeply for. They got better acquainted during the 1920s. New mobs were rising up daily and claiming territories for their own in chaotic battles. She made sure to keep her eye out for trouble, not wanting her underground bar to suffer and not letting herself get in deep or too friendly with anyone until Hades. There was a difference in him that she had not seen in the others. It wasn’t about just power and greed, there was a protectiveness in him. It was what made her approach him to provide an offer. Her place to be a sanctuary and to be a doctor and protect his men so that less lives would be lost. In exchange, he offered her place protection and would supply her bar so that she would no longer have to deal with that danger or struggle.

The closer the two became, the more she learned how similar their lives had been yet so different. Both were almost the black sheep of the family/pantheon they came from. Both had been forgotten, used, or pushed to the side to make way for others. It was a sore spot they shared. Both of them were fiercely protective of those they cared for. It made for an easy friendship, one that was strong but of course, Hathor has to bite her lip on some things. Mostly on the biggest reason they were so different. Hades had found someone to love and happiness for himself while she had not. He was still waiting and longing for a day that may never come and she couldn’t find it in her heart to blame him when there was even a slim chance he could have back what was lost. All she hopes for him is happiness. She worries he will be forever waiting. She worries for his safety. She worries that one day she might slip up and admit feelings that she has tried hard to kill or bury since she doesn’t want to ruin the friendship they have.</sub>
