Alas, it would seem so.

I might eventually have to leave so I don't spoil things for everyone else - I tend to be ah... shall we say, stubborn?
@Zebanamana

Huzzah! Someone else who knows of the amazing quality of late medieval armor!
@Raineh Daze

Are we assuming they're going to be fighting us with their bare hands? A bunch of poor brigands would most likely to have a polearm on hand, yo.

@VitaVitaAR

(Steel still weighs a fuckton tho)
@Raineh Daze

Didn't see this, so forgive me for the double post errybody. But uh... polearms were the most common kind of weapon back in the medieval era, easier to use, cheaper, and more effective against angry knights than a sword.
@Snagglepuss89

Must've missed you, sorry >.>

And you know of cuir bouilli! I embrace you!

@VitaVitaAR

Also I feel the need to mention that light plate armor is kind of an oxymoron. While you're not gonna be sort of waddling around like you strapped weights to your back, a suit of plate armor is gonna be between 40-60 pounds generally, albeit it's often so finely crafted that it actually grants more freedom of movement than maille armor does and doesn't feel as heavy as it is, since the weight's distributed. Steel, however, weighs a metric fuckton (amateur blacksmith, steel can be insanely heavy) so you really can't have "light plate" armor. Little weapons/armor nerd rant, sorry >.>
@Raineh Daze

The bill is hardly a specialized weapon, and the rondel dagger was in widespread use in the later era when knights in plate armor were commonplace. Since everyone here except my merc lady seems to have plate armor that corresponds to the 15th century or thereabouts, it's not a stretch of the imagination for such armor and/or cavalry defeating weaponry to exist as well. Plus, they might well know the knights are after them and would prepare as such, probably expecting a cavalry force.

@Zebanamana

No worries, never came off to me that way. Just figured I'd point out the downside of fighting on horseback as well :P
@Zebanamana

Has he accounted for the bandits potentially having bills to unseat him? Many a knight found out that being pulled from his horse and having a rondel shoved through his visor was a pretty sucky way to go.
