Current First post after nearly a month of inactivity. Here's hoping I can get back into a good post routine before long.

Managed to burn both my thumbs and index fingers pulling a tray of cookies out of the oven. I trusted you, oven mitts, and you betrayed me.

Thanks to having to move earlier this year, I finally get to experience snow for the first time since my early childhood. It's absolutely wonderful :)

RP’s that amass a good player base and have a good start only to suddenly die are why I have trust issues.

Omega

While Omega’s surprise attack had been deflected, the trooper still dropped her weapon, though it was quickly replaced with a beam sword. In the time it took her to do this however, Omega had already aimed his revolvers and opened fire. The close range plus their extra charge meant that she would have little means to defend or block the shots. Her dropping her gun had given him a range advantage he planned on making good use of it.

Though her lack of fighting back didn’t go unnoticed by the spirit. Sure he was trying to keep her at bay with his shots but one would think she’d at least try to close the gap using melee and all. Unless. It was a trap! Omega quickly surveyed the area and spotted the funnels just in time to avoid their beams. It was a clever tactic, but it would take more than that to bring down this cowboy.

Being the fastest trigger in the Nexus, Omega shot down all the funnels and still had time to turn back and face Tatiana before she could get a swing in. At least, that’s what he thought she was going to do. Instead the ghost got the full brunt of the soulfire attack. The pain was immeasurable, it was like every molecule in his head was being torn apart. Brought to his knees Omega placed the grips of his guns against his temples unable to stop the pain.

Whatever Tatiana chose to do now, Omega would be helpless to stop her.

"Soulfire - Delivers direct psychic damage to the mind of the target"

What would taking mind damage entail? Would they be confused or dazed? Or does it just give them a splitting headache?
@Mega Birb I'm not the one you have to ask for being allowed to come back to life early.

Also, I have a feeling it could lead to this:

Deva: Where are all my loyal warriors? I've just got you and this Zeruel chump, when Lucille could be here any moment!
Iona: They're all over at Hilda's place, fucking.
Deva: I hate her so much.

Deva: Wait. Where's Omega? He doesn't have the bits to do it.
Iona: ...He likes to watch.
Deva: *cringes*
@Mega Birb I'm in a group chat with him on Skype but he hasn't been on that for sometime either...
@Awesomoman64
You were making the harpy general, right?

I was making the what now?

@Awesomoman64

It is less of an issue of GM implementation and more that each player needs to acknowledge these sorts of bonuses when they are present, and not disregard them because they forgot or ignored them out of hand.

This is what I was going for but you phrased it better. I guess I was saying more trying to enforce it with players and be consistent with it.
I'll prepare something for tomorrow. Life was quite too hectic these test weeks.

I'm still waiting on the last thing you said you'd do "tomorrow"...

(He said having full weeks between times he's posted before.)
<Snipped quote by Flamelord>

I like where your head is at, genuinely I do. That sounds just as I envisioned this first way back when, but doing that in this written format comes with some old obstacles. Namely, NPCs and Static Defenses. Now there have been great efforts to bolster the value of such emplacements and cannon fodder. When the battles occur on empty slates, like Arcadia and the Sea of Ruthria, those don't have to be factors which everyone needs to hold in equal consideration for them to have value.

And for that matter, we'd need some serious consideration as to the sturdiness of walls, barricades, trenches, etc as most of our characters could demolish them with ease unless we made some indestructible material requiring long, tedious manufacturing and deconstruction processes so no one outside a core of engineers can feasibly remove them in a heated conflict without equally powerful artillery, cannons, holy ballista, etc.

That said, I'm sure Windel and KoL will work something satisfying out. Hopefully interests won't shift like a pendulum and lead to demands for something far from the more central conflict.

(Hey I finally have time to pipe in!)

I actually really like this. While I get factors like these would cause even more headache for the GM’s, I think they could add a bit more depth to the battles and even more so to the outcomes.

An issue I've always had is that the victories and defeats have had little to no impact other than “And the winning faction partied that night while the other two moped.” Case in point, Alt Signia and the resources. When heaven got the resources initially, we were told it was a big deal, but never saw it. Then the Machina took most of it and trashed the place. Not only have we still not seen the advantage of these resources, but the loss of Alt Signia didn't really hurt heaven in anyway.

Now let's say the resources were for building the walls and other structure defenses and our bonus was “next angel territory attacked will have 100% indestructible walls.” Like not even True Eyes could hurt them. That would be a HUGE boost! While in the same vein with the loss of them and Alt Signia, not only would the angels no longer get that bonus, but without their main manufacturing facility their next battle they would have unfortified walls that even Sliske could beat 1v1.

I do however understand how complicated and frustrating it would be to try and implement such things and really this is all just me rambling at this point. but I think if there were more to these battles and we could truly feel the effect of the outcome it would be much more enjoyable.
@Lucius Cypher
So you're saying everyone should gang up on Deva.

Is it time to form an angry mob already? Awesome!
