My blade carries with it the harsh frost of the wintry winds. Dancing with the rage of a blizzard, its speed matches the transience of an icy petal.

Welcome traveler. I see you've stumbled upon my profile, nice to meet ya.

About Me
I'm just your average 9-5 schmuck. I do my work, pay my bills, and contribute what I can to society. I also happen to enjoy binge-watching/reading anime, manga/light novels, tv dramas, and pretty much anything that catches my interest. Roleplaying
I originally joined this site several years back, having gotten my feet wet only recently at that point as an RPer. I was recommended this site by a pal of mine (@PaulHaynek) and joined a couple of his RPs. However, due to RL stresses I had to take a break from the world of RPing and took sometime for self-reflection. After a 2 year absence, I'm back in saddle and ready to further stretch my creative muscles. As for what roleplays I like, I enjoy anything action-oriented. I'm fine with any settings for the most part, though I'm more inclined toward the magical and sci-fi. Also, I've gained a sort of preference for RPs that allow users to play as multiple characters, but solo is fine either way. Here's a list to give a better idea of my tastes.

- Fantasy/medieval
- Dystopian
- Steampunk
- Sci-fi
- Apocalypse/Post-Apocalyptic
- Generally anything anime/manga related
- Adventure and Combat oriented
- Romance here and there is fine too

That's all for now, reader. If you decide to post an interest check for an RP idea, you just might find me posting a character profile ready to be reviewed. Don't be afraid to give me a shout if you'd like a Co-DM to bounce ideas off of as well.

Until then.

Blessed by the Gods of Old, the world of Veylnostica was created through their majesty. Their offspring, the Advents, saw that the will of the divine was given shape and carried out. The Deities beseeched these Advents, also known as the Six Scons to enact their decree: Scion of The Elements, Thaumaturgy, Alchemy, Galdr, Mind, and The Void. Through these Advents, life was breathed into this land and with it eventually rose mortals. Born into this world through divine grace, mortals were to pay tribute to the divine hierarchy by upholding the laws set forth by them and honoring this world. There are a number of mortals who possess the ability to perform what the world has come to define as sorcery. Such individuals are referred to as Magus and are said to be physical descendants of the Advents.

Persons under this designation were to pay honor to the natural elements, maintain piety with the divine teachings, understand the laws of creation and matter, ensure the connection between the material and spectral realms were stable, to strive for mental acuity, and the the power of the unknown was well kempt and never misused.

This world is one that’s full of wonder, mystery, and ancient knowledge. However, there are also many dangers that lurk within the shadows. Magical beasts, monsters born from miasma, corrupt apparitions, and even other people who have fallen to greed and lust for power. To preserve the balance of these lands and to ensure the law is upheld, many Magus make it their life’s work to hunt and subdue these threats. The ones that venture on these undertakings are called Reavers.

“This is a simple reading from a scripture from the Magus Association. It details basic knowledge anyone should know, but it never hurts to skim over again once in a while. Always remember what you are and what’s expected of you.”

Hello all, AzureKnight here. For a while I’ve decided to be a part of everyone else’s RP, so now I thought to try my hand at creating my very own. Welcome to the World of Veylnostica, one that is bound by a dogma upheld by six principles. A mainly fantasy world that has magitech elements to it, while a few minor religions exist in some remote areas, the main one for this setting will be the Creed of the Six Scions.

Players will be taking the role of magus, a catch-all term used to describe those who have dedicated their lives to the practice and study of magic. Your official titles will be those of reavers, magus who hunt dangerous beasts and criminals who pose threats to the common citizenry and the ruling powers. You’ll be doing so under the jurisdiction of the Magus Association, the central authority of magic for the realm. Located in the Republic of Morgenröte, you will be conducting your business as part of the Eon Tower, an independent sect of the Association that have a great deal of freedom with their doings.

Before we delve any further, let me briefly lay down some ground rules:

1. The setting will be PvE focused mainly. Battles will be reminiscent of Classic DMC and a bit of Bloodborne. You are free to deal with the lesser rabble however you wish, but when it comes to larger threats or opponents of greater interest I have the final say in what sticks and what doesn’t. In the rare event that a scenario of PvP does occur, I encourage you to settle it amongst yourselves. If that is not possible, I or the Co-GM will intervene and make a final decision.

2. This will be a relatively small RP, and I will be taking around 5-6 players at the most. That being said, I will make it a point to post an update weekly. However, I will give players around 2 weeks or so if they haven’t already posted within that timeframe. If some players still haven’t posted with that time, I will presume your character did nothing and continue onward with the story. Things always come up IRL, all I ask is that you let me know, I don’t like letting people go.

3. Be respectful to one another and try to avoid disputes and needles arguments among each other. If need be, reach out to Me and the Co-GM and we’ll see what needs to be done.

4. Try to only post once when interacting with a NPC or reacting to a situation. But please, feel free to post as many times as you’d like if interacting with other players directly.

5. The characters of players are expected to be quite powerful. You have been, after all, selected to be a part of a distinct sect and are expected to complete dangerous missions. Just no godmodding of course. I encourage all to be as creative and expressive with your abilities as you wish, just be sure it falls within the six presented categories. You can utilize at most two out of the six different divinations, any more and we’ll have to discuss it. Magictech weapons and tools are also encouraged, along with martial skills if it tickles your fancy~

6. Players can create up to two characters if they so desire.

7. Please do not post your completed CS in the Character tab until it is given the official pass. Which at that point, please do place it there at your earliest convenience.

That's about it, honestly. Now then, we'll go into a bit more about the setting:

The World

The setting of this world is known to all as Velynostica, created by the Gods before history as the general populace knows it. Believed to have been given law and shape by their first offspring, the Advents, those who follow this belief also refer to the Advents as the Six Scions. This religion is known as Veyonism, and is one of the largest and most wide-practiced beliefs in the world. As magus believe themselves to be honoring these core principles as they practice magic, most members of this group also follow this religion. They feel that sorcery will help people learn more about the world and thus help them advance as a civilization to new heights.

The main areas of interest will be the country of Caigehn, which houses a few territories.

The largest one is known as the Theocracy of Flugell in the center. This kingdom is ruled by the Grand Cardinal of the Advent Church, whose political seats of power are held by high priests and other clergy. They possess a standard system of society hierarchy, based around nobles and commonfolk.

To the east lies the Republic of Morgenröte - which marks the headquarters of the Magus Association; this organization serves as the magical authority for the society at large and has branches and sects all over the country. Housed in the city is the Eon Tower, a newly formed sect made famous due in part to the powerful magus who have built it from the ground up. This will serve as the main hub area for the players. The Republic is highly industrialized and has magitech infrastructure quite above other cultures.

To the west of the Theocracy lies the Great Ithaca Forest, which houses the Kingdom of the Fae Folk, ruled by a queen. While small Fae communities can be found in various remote areas, most will be from this location. They mitigate interactions with human-based society and have a religion based mainly around Elementalism, Thaumaturgic, and Galdr practices.

Notable Organizations:

Church of the Advents

A huge religious sect which practices the other largest in the realm known as Licsuhianity. This belief system is similar to Veyonism, but the core difference is that followers firmly believe that magic should only be practiced by members of the church. This causes friction between them and the Magus Association, who believe anyone can practice magic so long as they truly wish to undertake the task or have a talent for it. But the peace is kept as the magus’ efforts to push back miasma and defend the innocent has aided the Church greatly. Still, behind the scenes the Church and the Association have been at each other’s throats for centuries.

Magus Association:

A large organization that serves as a counterbalance to the Church. It governs the laws of magical practice and is the prominent influence of Veyonism, in which it is believed the Scion brought forth the Six Principles to further help humanity advance. Having sects all over, their organization issues official licenses to practice to all magus and ensure they uphold the divine teachings and strive to better society in all ways. Responsibilities include making new scientific and magical discoveries, studying ways to preserve the environment, and hunting down various threats. The specific groups who actively hunt down monsters and criminals are known as Reavers. These are especially feared and loathed by the commonfolk and high priests of the Theocracy.

The Eon Tower:

Also nestled within the Republic is the Eon Tower. Compared to other existing sects, the Tower has only recently come into power. Despite this, the Reavers at the center of its making have established themselves as being among the best of their peers. Indeed, the staff have lead sterling careers in the field of hunting - capturing various criminals and slaying even the most vicious of monsters. It is currently headed by Arteus Navarre Irvin, a genius magus in his prime, along with some trusted allies he gathered during his time in the field.

Kingdom of the Fae:

The culture of the Fae is largely unknown to most normal people, for reasons mainly due in part to the Fae themselves. They make it a point to limit interaction with other cultures, feeling they have a very tentative relationship with nature unlike them and focus too much on industrialization. They have a loose relationship with the Association: they are staunch detractors of the the Magus’ need to expand urbanization, but are willing to deal and work with them from time to time due to having somewhat similar beliefs of magic.

The Six Principles:

The magic of this setting is bound by the 6 principles that make up this world

Those magus who have mastered most if not all forms of this principles are given the title 'Sage' by the Association.

This is all a further expansion of what was touched upon in the Int Check thread. I look forward to seeing all applicants. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me or the Co-GM @PaulHaynek. ^^
Well by my count you have enough players but i would like to play a Riever with the Espermancy abilities.

I've certainly garnered a healthy amount of interest, but I'm currently holding off on accepting/judging applicants. After I post the OOC (Which I will do in a little bit) is when I'll start looking more closely at applicants and will only close the gates after I've made a final decision.

In other words feel free to start thinking of a character. ^^

Yeah, I guess let me know if that works.

I like the guy, but I'll hold off on accepting until after I put up the OOC post. I'll review sheets and make the final decision at that point.

This still open? Because I’m interested.

Yes, feel free to work on a CS and let us know if you have any questions.^^

That about it, honestly. Now then, go into a bit more about the setting:

The magic of this world is guided by the 6 principles:

Elementalism (Element Magic) - Sorcery that involves the manipulation of the worldly elements: Fire, Water, Wind, Earth, and Lightning. Ice and Flora also exist, but are considered to be extensions of Water and Earth magic respectively.

Thaumaturgy (White Magic) - Magic that purifies decay and gives a person to perform miracles, such as healing and removing curses. This sorcery also specializes in dispelling miasma and slaying monsters.

Alchemy ( Creation Magic) - A magical practice that involves the complete understanding of the matter that composes the world. Grants users the ability to breakdown substances, transmute the broken down matter into a different substance, then reconstruct it into something new. Also involves manipulating chemical reactions to achieve different results.

Galdr (Invocation Magic) - A peculiar magic that involves enoking the aid of spirits and familiars in order to aid the user, whether it be in battle or everyday life. Requires extensive knowledge in incantation scriptures and a profound connection to the Spectral plane.

Espermancy(Mind Magic) - Magical energy that is generated from strength of one’s brainpower. Users are able to freely manipulate their surroundings and generate psychic waves to attack or defend. Some are also granted a pseudo-clairvoyance, giving them premonitions of future events. The power of this magic is heavily dependent on one’s mental state and sense of reasoning, in the worst cases it’s possible for misuse to end in madness.

Void Magic (Black Magic) - The final and often most misunderstood form of magic present in the world. It is a powerful and deep magic that involves invoking a dark energy to achieve various effects. The most apparent nature of this energy is to consume everything around it, even light. These shadows can inhibit vision and create illusions to confuse foes, but in addition The Void also causes slight distortions in space. Utilizing this power, users can teleport and create gravity wells that attract/repel.

Races:

Humans: The most numerous race present in this realm, they have used their adaptive intelligence to build large-scale cities and have established different social structures. Compared to most races, they aren’t the strongest or the most magically inclined, acting as jacks of all trades. However, they are unmatched in determination and quick wittedness, and can master any skill with enough practice.

Fae: Spiritual beings born with innate high magical aptitudes. Physically, while being a tad bit more on the frail side, they are rather similar to humans in terms of appearance. Their distinct differences are marked by their pointed ears and lustery eyes that contain high mana concentrate. They often possess high talent with element, thaumaturgic, and galdr magics, being able to communicate with spirits and having a strong connection to the natural world in addition to being a very pious group. They live in small forested communications away from normal society, but have been known to deal with humans from time to time.

Belua: Humanoid races that possess traits reminiscent of various types of animals, particularly those of bestial, avian, insectoid, and reptilian species. They usually possess high physical strength and stout constitutions, but often lag behind in certain magical aptitudes. Possessing animal characteristics, many are however born with innate skills in elemental abilities. They usually live in villages in different areas, but some have also fully integrated into human society.

Other Races:

Magical Beasts: Fauna that, in part due to the copious amounts of mana that have enveloped their biology, have been classified in a separate bracket from their usual species. While sometimes they pose no threat to the populus and are popular subjects of magus study, many are irrationally vicious and threaten not only innonects, but the very ecosystems they are a part of.

Monsters: Creatures woefully different from regular animals and even magical beasts, these are abominations born from a putrid aura known as miasma. Miasma is a horrid substance that originates from the Divergent Plane, a realm that exists outside the reach of the Gods. Their disgusting bodies cause decay wherever they travel and pose an immediate threat to any vicinity they currently inhabit. Magical beasts, animals, and even other people who are attacked by these horrid creatures run the risk of being turned into monsters themselves.

Apparitions: Malevolent spirits born from the corruption of lost souls, and usually result from death caused by excess miasma. They pose a threat similar to monsters, but are often harder to deal with due to being ethereal creatures that are mainly weak to white magic.

More will be explained when I put up the OOC thread within the next week or so. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me or the Co-GM @PaulHaynek. ^^

Eula's eyes flashed up and looked over at Shizuka, apparently finished with her 'analysis' of the glass blade. It seemed that it was a weapon made from part steel and glass, combined using ancient sorcery. If he thought about it, he sometimes heard his fellow compatriots mention them during the war, along with his master. Strong enough to completely tear through armor, but despite its power it also has a high risk factor involving the wielder. As they've already experienced, the blade usually shatters upon use, spreading glass shards in all directions and killing the user. He looked at the now deceased bandit, his expression was one of pity. Walking over to him, he carefully pulled the glass shards out of his eye, then he closed both of them. Picking up his body, he laid him on the ground, his back now resting on a stone. "Poor bastard", he said, shaking his head.

The fact that some people were willing to still use this glass weapon despite this risk, in addition to questioning their sense of reason and perhaps intellect, also made him think that there are those who are skilled enough to keep their lives even after the weapon is shattered. It shouldn't come as a surprise that they're band in various monster territories. A sweatdrop appeared on the side of the ronin's head as Eula began going on another tangent, but was relived as she stopped herself.

"Yes, Eula-san, I wholeheartedly agree. Which, also, shouldn't be a problem" Responding to Eula's suggestion for the coming battle. He took note that she also had the foresight to bandage her wound, not only to ensure that dirt is kept out of it as it heals, but to ensure that their enemies don't realize that she's injured. "You're wise.", he said. "You give me too much credit. It just one of several basic chi manipulation sills based around breathing techniques. It's actually rather common among Zipangu warriors."

He then examined the footprints along with his automation partner. "Let's make haste, Eula-san, I don't like the idea of those brigands roaming about longer than needed. Especially if they have more of those glass weapons..."

The Headman - Sawmill

Contrary to Hinami's initial estimation, it seemed that not even Luna could do much to calm the woman's nerves. The fact that a bunch of monsters and a rage filled agent of revenge are asking her where her husband is doesn't help the case either. Realizing the matter isn't getting resolved any time soon, Sorae suggested that the taskforce members take the woman back to the temple. There she can be safely looked after, then perhaps she'd be more comfortable to divulge more information. Sorae, however, decided to stay behind and look around a bit more. Before the sisters could protest, Sorae ensured them that she'd leave long before any reinforcements arrived.

"Of course, Sorae-san. We'll see you soon then!" Hinami replied. Luna began walking back to the base with Kana in tow, ensuring her that all of them would see her safe. Hinami nodded cheerfully in agreement, while Atsuha tried to force a reassuring smile. It seemed she was still a bit bothered from earlier.

With that, they all began making their way back to Terauchi Temple, deciding they've seen enough excitement for one day. Although, Hinami could notice her sister's sour mood as they walked. She'd have to see if she could cheer her up when they return, hopefully Skarsneek would be there to greet them as well.

Cogsfell Aftermath

Polina had decided to deploy her parachute sooner than all the others, allowing her to remain airborne for a little bit longer. During which time, she decided to let loose some shots and hit a couple of demons she spotted over the horizon. She managed to take out a few, but the main point was that she attracted the attention of a particularly large demon. It seemed more annoyed than hurt at her shot; it decided to bring along some friends as well as it ran full speed at the party. Their disgusting snarls grew louder as they drew near.

"My thoughts exactly, Polina. Better to know your enemy than charge in blind." She says, as Astreya starts unloading her weapon on the large mass approaching them, making a face as she cackled to herself. Lucrecia sighed as she brandished her blades, and prepared to meet some of the lesser demons who were upon them.

"Gloria a Fiore!"

After her proclamation, Lucrecia let loose with a elegant display of deft acrobatics and precision-based swordplay as she tore through a gang of little monsters who dared try her. Two attempted to jump her, but she quickly countered with a spinning slash that bifurcated both of them. One tried to take her head off with a claw, but she easily dodged and fended it off with a well placed kick. As it flew back, she flipped her blades so that the bottom of the handle was facing out. Clicking the triggers on the handles, a salvo of scarlet bullets let loose from the chambers. The imp was nearly torn apart by the barrage of bullets. Smoke flowed out of the handles as what was left of the demon's corpse fell to the ground.

"The smaller vermin are easy enough to deal with, at least. But, we really should worry about finding a way to deal with our larger amico."

Aboard the Clematis

"Blood Demons? I think I remember reading up about them a bit." Lucrecia said, listening to Myrilla's explanation with Kat chiming in. She raised a brow at being called 'Lulu', a nickname she didn't ask for. She looked perplexedly as the instructor went behind Kat and put her hands around her waist. Kat thought it to be, at first, a form of flirting. This was quickly proven wrong when she was forcefully flung off the airship and went head first to the ground, without a parachute one might add. "Ragazza stupida..." she uttered, shaking her head disapprovingly. While Lucrecia would normally voice an objection at such behavior, she figured they trusted this squad enough with this dangerous mission to feel that could handle such happenings. So she simply trusted her feline ally would be able to find a safe way to land. Not surprising, Myrilla also confirmed that the police had completely locked down the area so the only way in is from the air.

Lucrecia, however, was quite shocked to hear that her apparent daughter was also a part of the initial force they lost contact with. What in the world would possess the instructor to even allow this?! Even if it was a direct order from higher up. Signora, I must say I don't approve of your daughter being sent on the front lines. But I understand it is not my place to speak any further on it. So rest assured, she will be safely returned to you in perfect health."

The rest of the maids still onboard were given parachutes, along with a demon guide book of sorts and some provisions. Seeing her comrades jump off to the burning mess of what was once a city below, Lucrecia took care to give her stock a once more look over below gracefully jumping off the ship to join them.

--

Cogsfell Aftermath

Her trust wasn't misplaced, as Lucrecia descended she witnessed Kat slow her fall with a bit of magic and was able to land safely due to it. Good, one less thing to worry about. Overlooking the city, she was taken a back by the level of destruction. She knew that demons were powerful entities, but seeing their carnage first hand was another matter entirely. The city was more or less a giant crater now, littered with the debris of fallen buildings along with patches of horrid embers simmering everywhere. This was only her first mission as well, Lucrecia certainly had her work cut out for her to make a good first impression. It would start with making any possible contact with the previous unit and hopefully finding Myrilla's daughter. Not as though that's the only reason she wants to find her, mind you.

Making her touchdown, she took a moment to inspect the landscape. She saw nothing of interest so far, only hearing the occasional guttural roar along with a shriek of terror. See saw that Astreya and Senya were ready for action, the former shaking with excitement at using her gun while the latter readied hers as well - declaring she was prepared to kill. Meanwhile, Kat was complaining that the instructor didn't give them much direction as to where to start looking.

Lucrecia drew her twinblades, spinning them in her hands for a bit. "No use in complaining now, time to get to work."

The bandit made a gulp as the reality of his situation set in, his friends had abandoned him and he was cornered by the taskforce duo with no way out. As Shizuka was about to further press him for answers, the bandit gave into the multitude of emotions welling up inside and put up a last attempt of resistance by swinging his glass blade at them. Shizuka's eyes widen for the brief moment before the blow was struck, not being able to move himself and Eula out of harm's way in time.

The sound of slashing flesh and shattering glass filled the vicinity. Shards were scattered everywhere, glistening in the afternoon sunlight. Looking back at the scene, Shizuka was fine for the most part. He was fast enough to ensure the shards didn't hit any of his vital areas, though some of them broke into the skin of his chest and abdomen. Thankfully the wounds weren't too deep, which unfortunately couldn't be said for his companion and the brigand.

The bandit was dead, the light completely faded from his eyes as blood ran down from his corpse and spread along the ground before them. Numerous glass shards had stuck there way all over his face and neck, some even got into his right eye. It seemed that in the end, he wasn't willing to sell out his comrades. At the current point, however, Shizuka was much more worried about Eula. Her arm is what took the crux of the blow, despite being made from a special material the blade tore through it with little difficulty. He saw the wound was deep enough to expose the circuity that made up her frame, along with chunks of glass sticking out of it.

"Eula-san, your arm! We need to-" He was quickly cut off as he witnessed her bodily reaction to the injury. Her body began convulsing profusely while what he thought was her chi was forcibly expelled from her injured arm. "Eula-san!" He exclaimed, quickly grabbing her shoulders to see if he could ease the convulsions. He honestly wasn't sure of how to help her, her biology being so different than what he's seen before. Thankfully, after her right arm goes limp, the convulsions stop. In a stuttering tone, she asks if he is alright. She blamed herself for what happened as she took out the glass chunks out of her wound. She tells him that she is still able to fight at around 70% of the pick of her strength, but asks if it would be best to suspend the mission.

"You...seem to be alright. I'm relieved, you had me scared there for a moment. Don't blame yourself for the situation, he can't really account for someone who's pushed to the brink." His expression and tone now calmed, he still looked at her wound with a bit of concern. He looked with perplexity as she grinded the glass fragments into a fine powder, being quite surprised as she began stuffing the powder in her mouth. She then said something about analyzing the material the glass sword was made of. "Uhh...you're able to tell what something is made of by...eating it...?" He was naturally confused, but he ultimately allowed her to continue her analysis. He also possessed special abilities after all.

After pulling the bits of glass that stuck him, he made a deep inhale then exhale and afterwards made a sign with his right hand. He held it to his chest as he began channeling his chi. The cuts in his skin began healing immediately, thankfully because they weren't too extraneous. With this wounds healed, he turned back to Eula.

"Eula-san, you needn't worry about me. Such situations just come with the job for me. We should go after them, lest they claim more victims. They shouldn't have gotten too far and their trail should still be fresh." He said, being able to see some of their tracks in the mud.

"However, we should be cautious of the fact that they may have more of those weapons back at their hideout. Not to mention there could be more of them."

The Headman - Sawmill

The moment Atsuha approached the young woman and tried to console her, she let out a scream so long that the nearby birds took flight out of shock. While it didn't surprise her, it still hurt her a little bit.

Sorae entered the scene, and in her typical fashion began roughly pressing her for questions. It was also revealed that she was none other then Sogen's wife. It was doubtful she would reveal anything damning about her husband, let alone to a revenged-filled warrior along with a bunch of monsters. Atsuha folded her arms and made an annoyed sigh. "This is getting us nowhere. Sorae-san, I doubt you'd get anything out of the poor woman with such force. Nee-chan, Luna-chan, perhaps the two of you could better help the situation?"

"Oh, umm, I suppose we could. After all, I'm able to pass as a normal human in most circumstances and Luna-chan's a cute bunny girl! People usually like rabbits more than spiders right?" She quietly said to Luna. Atsuha was able to hear it, though, and made a face at the last part of her sister's statement.
