Bio

This is my second profile on here, and I have been Play-By-Post RPing for about nine years now. I do my best to see every RP to the end or at least let my character come to his/her own dramatic conclusion when I feel like signing off. Just like novel writing in real life, I tend to find myself on long hiatuses. Since writing is a great way to work out your brain, I try stay engaged as much as possible.

My favorite genres include futuristic worlds, mysteries, and super powers. Any mixture of these three elements will peek my interest.

Everyone, I decided not to post in the IC section for now. I was the last to post in all of your story arcs, and with this new system of letting you move time along in your own arcs, it seems counterintuitive to make another scene setting post.

Instead, if and when you decide to jump forward in time, I will make a scene setting post for you specifically.

@Spin The Wheel and @Vec, you two may make your next IC posts whenever you like. Awe yeah!

Also, @Renny, I haven't heard from you since you said you were pulling out of this RP. However, since then, I have updated how the passage of time works. I'd like to confirm that you're still exiting this RP, or if you want to stay now that the passage of time works more in your favor. Thanks!
I have edited the section in the first OOC post about time, and I will be making an IC post before bed tonight.

I'm looking forward to seeing all the stories you all create!

PS: If any new player wants to get involved with this RP, we are still open.
Contact me here in the OOC section or directly through PMs.
Alright everyone, please take a break from posting until next week. No posting until Jan 2nd or later. As for the time skip, I'm going to leave that up to each individual.

I've decided that every player has their own story arc which can move at its own pace. Instead of skipping forward by a day each month, each player is allowed to skip forward in time as much as they like, so long as they don't leave the three day window. In other words, your character's individual story can take place all on the same day, or it can span three days.

As you know, this month's storyline revolves around this world's Armistice's Day, which also happens to be their New Years Day. So the three day period includes the day before and the day after.

This change makes it more important than ever to collaborate with potential writing partners. I'm happy to provide each individual with NPCs and plenty of action, so that you can only worry about your own timeline. However, if two or more players want to interact, they should agree on their character's timelines. Of course, you can partner up and dissolve partnerships at will.

Finally, there is one aspect of the former time system that will remain. At the end of every three month period, there will still be a two week IRL break. After that break, we will be skipping into the next season: winter to spring, spring to summer, etc...

So take this week off, and think about what kind of story you could tell over the course of the next two months. Be ready to reach some sort of conclusion by the end of February.

Unless there are any objections, I will be amending the "Time" section of the first OOC post to reflect these changes.

Thanks everyone! Have a Happy New Year!

Tempum City (K7), Late Afternoon

... The coins plinked and plonked as they bounced to a rest on the street. The minotaur stared impassively at the snake-like beastman before him.
"I would advise you to stop this action." He said quietly.
Though he tried his best to take a calm approach, his rumbling voice sent tremors into the teenager's (comparatively) frail arm.

The would-be thief was surprised by Mougin's swift movement. Her eyes went wide as he grabbed onto her arm. On instinct, she tried to pull away. As she did, the bones in her arm softened, and her skin became very loose.

Her attempt to escape was in vein. The minotaur's grip was too tight. His hand slid down her arm, but she couldn't get it passed her wrist. Suddenly, in a wild panicked voice she called out. "Help! Help!! Help!!! I don't know you! Let me go!!!"

This was plan B, their escape plan when things went wrong. She would play the victim card. All the boys had to do was...

"What are you doing!?" Yelled the alligator beast-teen. He had turned around, no longer concerned with the "fight" that he was about to start.

From across the street, the three human teenagers joined in as well. "He's trying to eat her!" One screamed. "Somebody help!" The second yelled. The third one just squealed out in bloody murder, pointing horrifically at Mougin.

By this time a small crowd has started forming. Initially, they were attracted to the sight of what looked like a fight between two beast-folk and three humans. Now, confused, intrigued, and horrified, they were watching this new sight unfold.

Two blocks away and closing in fast, a man was running toward the scene. He approached as fast as a speeding car. His black suit flashed with small blue lights. He was a police officer, and he clearly meant business.
@Spin The Wheel I'm going to roll real quick to see if the snake girl can quickly escape Mougin's clutches and scoop up a few coins as she runs away.

With flexible bones and a shed skin ability, I'm giving her 70% chance of escaping. It would be higher, but I assume his grip is very firm.

Then I'm giving her a 50% chance of swiping up a few of the dropped coins.

Here we go! roleplayerguild.com/rolls/24740

She needed at least a 30 to escape, but she rolled an 8. Therefore, his grip is too tight for her to escape!
Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays all. Sorry for my lateness, I see now I'll just be a hinderance to the pace, IC time-system, and plot, regardless of the leniency. I'm stepping away from the RP, have fun guys and thanks @Balthazar007 for the consideration.

I do hope you reconsider. There truly is no rush in this RP. I want multiple story arcs going on at once, and that inevitably means they will be going at different paces.

If you change your mind, feel free to jump back in after Jan 2nd.
Merry xmas !!!

Indeed! ⛄🎅🦌

Alright everyone, I will be posting again tonight, even if it's just to respond to @Spin The Wheel's most recent post.

I'd like if everyone could get one more post out, before we take a short break. Since tomorrow is Christmas and you may be busy with family, I'll say that you can get your last post out by Tuesday if you want.

After that, my next post will be Jan 2nd, where I will fast-forward things to the next day, the actual Armistice Day.

So your last post for this month should kind of give us an idea of what you'll be doing for the next 20hrs or so. If you don't get a post up, that is okay too, your first post next month can fill in the gap.
If he used breath of the wind then he'd have better odds, but he doesn't have much of a reason to do that right now so that sounds about right. It also 0robably wouldn't have helped much anyway. She might end up having to dig through his clothes a bit though.

Okay, I'll increase his odds of noticing her and stopping her from getting to his bag by 5% since it's under clothing. I wasn't thinking about that. However, it wouldn't deter a skilled thief.

So, he has a 15% chance of stopping her initial attempt and a 20% chance of reacting quick enough to stop her if she succeeds. Therefore, the first roll will have to be 85 or more, and the second roll (if needed) will have to be 80 or over. Here we go...

Noticing the Snake-woman: roleplayerguild.com/rolls/24736
Catching the Snake-woman: n/a

Results: With a roll of 86, Mougin notices the snake-girl's attempt to steal from him and narrowly avoids this from happening. Perhaps he heard his clothes starting to be cut and reacted quickly enough? The specifics are up to you, but it should be a close call.
@Spin The Wheel So, I think there would be a good chance that Mougin wouldn't be able to stop the snake-girl. There's probably a 10% chance that he might notice her and stop her from cutting his bag. Then, depending on how his reflexes match up to her escaping skills, I'd say he only has a 20% chance of catching her before she gets away.

Do you agree with these numbers? Keep in mind, these gang members do things like this on the daily, while this is Mougin's first encounter with the outside world. If you believe his odds of success should be higher, let me know why.

I will then roll a d100, using this site's dice roll program. The result(s) will reflect his success/failure in this situation. Do you have any questions?
