Jackal was perplexed at the strange creature's choices of words. Excitement maybe? Regardless, the blue one's point was clear that they were 'friendly'. He followed her and the group out of the cave and back into the world, albeit he had kept some distance from them as a sort of precaution. When the same blue creature offered food the primitive reptile immediately ran, losing his bipedal stance in favor of crawling, towards one of the presented armadillos and snatched it away from her reach with his maw. He then proceeded to crawl some meters away from the crowd to inspect the 'food.' He had placed the carcass from his mouth to his hands to study the hard leathery hide and soft underbelly.

Jackal nipped at the belly of the small beast to investigate its taste with a small strip of raw flesh. Contempt with its taste, which seemed safe enough to eat, the Gorgasi Stood upright once more from his crouched position and held the armadillo carcass by the tail. He released a jet of flames from his maw upon the corpse, cooking and roasting it to charred remains to a blackened crisp. Such burnt meat would taste horrid for most, but for Jackal's race it is preferred.

His feast was interrupted when some distance away water came fourth from a part of the flat mountain from a whole that wasn't there before. Water was a vital supply, so the curious reptile moved cautiously over towards the ditch to investigate; scarfing down his burnt armadillo along the way.

Christopher Francis

As soon as the slime had been destroyed, Chris's driving will and anger ceased altogether. With nothing left to force his body forward the dragon-arbiter merely collapsed over the leftover slime before being carried off by Kadabra. His barely conscience state gleamed over the destruction of the city, for a moment he thought that he was in ground zero, but that delusion wasn't believable enough to console him.

Chris had failed.

He had failed to help his teammates, he had failed to save any civilians, and he had failed to kill any of these damned monsters. He had let everyone down with his cascade of poor decisions today, and it was this very self-loathing that made contemplate if he would even be upset if he was being dragged to some kind of firing squad or prison for his poor performance. Any sense of pride he once had was now shattered and broken.

While he was being carried off, he didn't revert his form yet. Perhaps it because he still wanted to feel that unbearable, now almost-numb pain to fixate some form of reality; Perhaps he wanted to avoid walking among his peers and superiors in a naked form, defeated by today's battle; Or perhaps it was merely some hidden caution of reverting his transformation while being moved in the air.

He wasn't able to pay attention to other students chatting away while being carried, though he didn't want to. The shame he felt made him grow distant from the others, their voices and the whole. Perhaps the only things he cared about now was of the lack of fellow casualities, he hoped to god that Angelique, or god forbid, Siena wasn't dead or worse. Hell he even hoped that Brent and Marcus weren't too messed up either despite his animosity towards them. Feelings like these are best kept inside, anyhow.
I'll leave my interest here, not sure on what kind of character I'd like to make so I'll wait to see what others come up with for Abby.

How exactly will this game run btw? Is it essentially a dnd adventure without tabletop elements?

Edit: Will there also be a sort of progression system where the characters eventually get stronger?

The beast's meditation over his new situation was broken when several unknown creatures made their way inside. Having been in the shadows with eyes that were barely illuminated, Jackal didn't move a muscle. Everything about this situation was unfamiliar to him, the mark, these hairless mammals and other odd specimens, and the unnatural environment. Even the cave seemed artificial, how flat and square everything was. He didn't want to admit it, but the lizard-warrior was in some form of terror.

That fear drove curiosity, to study the situation before him and then decide on his next actions, a basic principle of reason. However, more perplexing was that these animals were...speaking. The sounds were unfamiliar to him yet he somehow understood these alien words to him as if he was raised by it. He however, avoided to dwell to much in thought of the language as he was more interested in the very fact that these beasts were speaking a language.

These strange creatures were not Gorgasi, yet they were sapient; They walked and talked in a matter that may even be more sophisticated intelligence then his own. Knowing this, Jackal no longer saw these strangers as prey or predators, still he kept hidden as a new strange monster appeared to challenge them in some strange sport; Likely the reason to the unnatural cave structure. So the beast watched, studied they're strange dialects, and waited.

When the beast was defeated, and the group had inspected some container in the back, the reptilian monster rose from his place of hiding. At first he crawled out of the darkness in a slow matter, moving more like a lizard with a side-to-side motion rather then that of a humanoid, his yellow eyes were beaming from his silhouette. Once he was out of the shadows the alien lifted his body upright to his full height.

There was a pause, as Jackal was unsure of what to make of these strangers exactly. Despite how some varied from others in race, they seemed to function as some kind of group or tribe, this detail gave him some reason to question.
"...Friend.. or foe." He finally spoke. Since he was still adapting to the new information of this alien tongue, Jackal's words were paused and stressed to some extent which exposed his unfamiliarity.
Next update will be the next Sunday, which will immediately time skip to the day of the mission. In between now and then, players may post interactions and such from anytime IC time between after the first meeting to the night prior to the first mission.
Meeting Dismissed!

"Sir Valen your room is located on the top of the east tower, 10th room, taking the right hallway to it's end should take you to the staircase. As for the mission, I do not know of what silly details Lancelot has for you vile creatures, all I know is that if all things go well for him you lot will be sent to siege some necromancer's fortress."

The disguised monster then held up what appeared to be some sort of scroll. "For the rest of your rooms...Par'Sath, you were not given room due to your nature, but you are permitted to drift around wherever within the castle as you please so long as you adhere to the privacy of your peers.
Nraz'gagr, you are located on the first room on the West wing Tower, you will find that the door has been adjusted for your height.
Camilla you are located within.." Bolladreq squinted his eyes at the scroll. "You have been given a space in the basement to build your laboratory..You best avoid disturbing me with excessive noise and hijinx filthy creature." He muttered the last part of his sentence as he had gritted his teeth a bit.
"Isinu, second room on East Tower."
Alysse, fourth room on East Tower"
"Denuubim, second room West Tower."
"Grolik, top floor West Tower."
"Val'vath, third room West Tower."
"Ester, fifth room West Tower."
"Evelyn and Bartuc, third room East Tower."
"Liv and Vitus, fifth room East Tower."
"Jakorion, seventh room West Tower."
"Phirra, eighth room East Tower."
"Emerson, ninth room East Tower."
"Duncan, sixth room West Tower."
"Enzoyo, eigth room West Tower."
"I do not know any of your names nor do I care if any of you are here or not, if there are any whelps that weren't present for this meeting you may direct them to my lair, located behind the big gated doors in the basement. I stress that you filth keep your antics from me, as I have little patience."
The old and weathered figure blew out the lantern he held in his left hand. "You are all dismissed!"

A note rested on Grolik's door stating the following "Sir Lancelot himself requests two zeppelins to be ready prior to the mission in two days, expect to board all fellow Knights onto the airships."

@Leaves So how exactly will guest characters be managed? I have an idea for an anti-hero I'm still working on, but how would that tie into the rp exactly? How frequent would you expect the average guest character to show up in episodes?
Alright so since posting seems to be a bit slow I will wait till sunday for the update post. Just to note, that update will timeskip to the next day giving players the option for more character interaction. On friday I will then timeskip to the day of the mission, introducing the objectives to the knights and ending it with them on their way.
