Vampires shrieked in pain as the bombs went off, most dropping like flies from the shrapnel while others tried and failed to stop the attacking hunter. Sam helped by shooting the ones who tried getting Dean from behind, his face emotionless as his brother's. The head vampire hissed angrily before holding Evie close to him, glaring at Dean in hatred.

"Come any closer and I'll kill her." He growled, one of his hands gripping her hair and angling her head uncomfortably to expose her jugular. A whimper of fear escaped from Evie as she looked at Dean, the look a child gave to their parents when they had a bad dream and needed comfort. The look a child made when they were terrified. The same look Sam gave him when growing up.
The coven of vampires were circled around in a main room, all eyes staring hungrily at their leader whose fangs were currently sunk into the soft flesh of Evie's left wrist as he fed. He had to make sure this was the right girl after so many hadn't been the one they were searching for. It had been years since he'd tasted the blood of a Van Helsing but he never forgot it.

He released her wrist from the needle like fangs, hissing in joy as his eyes flashed brightly. "Van Helsing!" He exclaimed, holding up her arm, blood trickling down and dripping off her elbow. Whither it was from the blood loss or the grip he had on her, Evie wasn't fighting back like when the brothers first met her.

She looked a little better than her former guardian but was still roughed up. Now her bloodline was exposed to the hungry coven which would'nt hesitate to drain her dry.
"T-Tell her...I'm sorry...I promised her...I'd always be there...I'm sorry, Evie...I'm..." The man choked out before letting out a final, soft sigh as his eyes glazed over. Death had welcomed him into the afterlife. Despite not having a soul, Sam couldn't help but feel sorry for the poor man who sacrificed his life to protect a kid. He reached over and gently closed the man's eyes before sighing.

He was going to say something before a high pitched scream of terror and pain rang out further into the warehouse, the same scream a teenage girl would make. He quickly looked at Dean in worry, hoping they weren't too late.
After a bit of searching, a bloodied hand latched onto Dean's forearm as the man they met earlier that day tried staying on his feet. He was a mess, covered in bite marks, deep scratches, and wounds that confirmed vampires rested here and had taken their fill with him. "E-Evie...you have...to find...Evie...k-keep her...s-safe..." He struggled to say.

"If they...find out she's...a...a...Van...Helsing...they'll kill her..." He coughed, violently hacking up blood that splattered on the floor. He looked at the brothers, knowing he didn't have much longer. "P-Promise me you'll...become her...guardians...please...promise me..."
"Dean." Sam said, pointing to a car not too far down the road they were just on. It didn't seem anyone was inside...especially since it was wrapped around a tree. Worried, Sam ran over to the car to assess what happened. There was blood on the passenger window as well as the steering wheel indicting whoever was in the car was injured.

Sam looked around for clues as to what happened to the driver and passenger. "They couldn't have gotten far." He said before a wounded cough rang out towards the direction of the warehouse.
"Honestly, I'm not sure. Taking care of the vampires means the deaths stop, but if we go after them we could get some answers hopefully." Sam replied with a sigh. Either one meant delaying the other. "Maybe we'll meet up with them at the nest. Work together to get rid of them. It's the only thing I can think of that's reasonable."
"There's a possibility, the question is which one?" Sam asked, glancing over at Dean. Another hunter family? And one of the most famous ones at that? This was strange even for them. "Think you can do some digging, maybe find out any surviving records?" He asked. He wanted to be sure before going after them.
"Van Helsing? As in the guy who killed Dracula in the book?" Sam asked in reply, raising an eyebrow before putting Bobby on speaker. "Bobby, you're talking about a character in a book who doesn't exist. Stoker probably didn't know vampires actually existed let alone hunters." He pointed out.

Could there be a chance that they were part of that family though? The way the man knew what they were, and the girl's fear...it was impossible.
Sam sighed deeply as he was scolded by Bobby for his actions. He knew he was in the wrong, especially after everything Bobby had done for them. "I'm sorry. I just want this over and done with." He replied.

"It's just the way they acted...they have to be hunters. The girl could fight but there was fear in her. Like she's being followed. The guy didn't look related to her." He explained before a random thought appeared in his head.

"Bobby, you wouldn't happen to know any Hunter families, would you?"
"Look, we're just trying to figure out why a group of vampires are going around teen girls with brown hair and this kid matches the description of the victims! Maybe you can cut me some slack!" Sam snapped. That was one of the problems about being soulless; he was short tempered and blunt.

The areas the girls appeared all centered around an old warehouse perfect for vampires to roost and drain blood. However the cameras proved tricky as they rarely showed up, only appearing briefly before disappearing again. It was like they didn't want to be followed.
