I mostly enjoy writing in the Casual section of the guild. Character development and exploring character relationships motivate me. I like to really think myself into my character and their view on others and the world around them which is why I prefer to stick to one character per roleplay. I love world-building but I am also easily overwhelmed with very detailed concepts I haven't been met with before. So you could say I love a decent amount of world-building and prefer original builds. Once everyone has settled, expanding that world and its concept is a great way to create more depth and keep me as a player hooked as I love to discover new things!

My favorite genre is and has always been fantasy. I guess you could say I love escapism to a point where I like to flee the mundane world entirely. I also feel drawn to sci-fi roleplays but I have noticed that those usually intimidate me. I feel like I am not adept at writing about technology and all that sci-fi goodness so I mostly just pine over how awesome some OOCs look and never apply to them.

When it comes to fantasy I feel right at home. For my mind, it is much easier to grasp magical concepts and worlds than sci-fi ones. As a result of this, all the worlds I write up (be it here as a GM or elsewhere) tend to be fantastical in one way or another. I especially enjoy adventure RPs and witch RPs. I like to see new magical systems and am always eager to learn more about the worlds I RP in.

Additionally, all my characters are queer, always. Since I am queer myself and can't imagine playing straight ^^

I always write my IC posts in gray due to finding the white color pretty straining on the eyes.

Sounds interesting. I second Olive Fontaine in that I can give more of a certain estimation on whether this is for me once more information is present.
Don't know what it is but I find your post charming. I am also a non-binary lesbian who uses they/them pronouns! And your name, Mircalla, reminds me of Carmilla. You haven't by chance read that or even seen the little queer web series based on the novella?

◈ You need to be willing to chat back and forth separate from our roleplay.
I do that and prefer that.

◈ Be willing to work with my schedule.
I don't mind any of that. Just know that I can be very spotty with my replies. I have some chronic health issues which affect my dopamine level. Which means sometimes I can not for the love of me experience "joy". It's painful. I try my best but sometimes I might need some assistance to regain the ability to write creatively (aka unlocking some dopamine flow - most often this can be achieved by talking about it together as seeing someone excited makes me excited too)

◈ Absolutely no minors (anyone younger than 18). I would prefer folks 20 or older, just out of personal preference.
I'm 26, if it matters.

◈ I will never respond to an RP from my phone. Ever.
I don't see how that's a problem. I am always way more creative and elaborate with a keyboard at my fingertips.

◈ I'm open to adult content, but that's something we need to discuss on what hard stops and limits we both have.
I am open to adult content with the exception of fully written out smut scenes, I always feel uncomfortable since I am somewhere on the gray ace spectrum.

◈ The only things I'm really not into are furry, feral, or fandom RPs. I'm open to almost any genre other than arena/heavily military based settings.
Dito. While I don't mind borrowing ideas, some world-building or other aspects from media I enjoy, I don't really like to write existing characters or 'OC x existing character' pairings.

Some things I have realized I enjoy

◈ A roadmap
I enjoy knowing where we are heading, what the idea is, and what scene we are approaching next. I do not need an exact outline but I realized that sometimes writing without any idea where we are heading next is hard for me. I like a general idea. I like a 'goal' so to speak.

◈ Compelling characters
I like some tragedy in there, some flaws, some goals, some inner and outer struggles. It all depends on the setting and premise of course but I find that well-rounded characters help me enjoy writing a lot more. I enjoy getting an idea of your character's inner monologue, their thoughts and feelings, even if they aren't shown to my character.

◈ Actively moving the story ahead
While not every scene needs to move the story ahead, I like to not dwell on every breakfast conversation for ages or write out every scene of every day. I like to skip what isn't needed or fun, just write a short summary and move on to the next part. Of course, character interactions that add to the characters, the story or the development (or are just fun for us) are exempt from this. Character depth and character interactions are important to me.

I'm sure there's more but I am coming up empty right now.

A little bit on what I like in my RPs

Generally speaking I like when some of these things are included.

◈ Stakes, personal and other
I prefer my RPs to have some form of stakes. Both personal stakes for my character as well as some bigger stakes. This doesn't always need to mean "end of the world" stakes. It could be reputational, political, relationships, mental or physical health (if we're going to go there), etc.

◈ Moral dilemmas and gray areas
I like when not everything is black-and-white. Some choices should be dilemmas. Sometimes there should be no apparent 'right' path to take. Gray characters or morally gray topics are also welcome.

◈ Negative or mixed outcomes
Some of our characters' choices should lead to bad outcomes, even if they make the 'right' choice. Not everything should always 'work out' in the end. There can be consequences, there can be unfair outcomes, there can be things that can't be reversed or fixed.

◈ Happy moments
Having said that, there should also always be room for some happy moments where for once nothing goes wrong. I have seen TV shows where no matter what, the happiness is destroyed again and no character gets a break ever. Those are not my kind of stories. Our characters should be allowed to grow and experience happy moments and calm without it always just functioning as a means to make the next bad thing hit harder.

◈ Politics
I like when my RPs include politics in one way or another. Staying away from politics altogether makes the RP world seem unrealistic to me. It doesn't need to be fully fledged political systems with political actors and all that - that seems a bit much for most RPs. Even something like "vampires need to stay hidden because they're otherwise killed" is already political. Let's explore some of those underlying political assumptions and themes that'll naturally arise within the RP. In whatever capacity seems fitting.

It's still getting interest ^^ voicing mine now too ;) tag me if it ever gets picked up again
Just a few questions so I can wrap my head around the concept in action a bit better, if you don't mind.

1) Will you be playing a PC as well or will you just GM aka play NPCs (is Donnelley an NPC or PC)?

2) How will an investigations be played out?
- Will you be placing clues/evidence somehow withing the RP? As a kind of [Player: I investigate the closet | GM: You find EVIDENCE] player action -> GM answer -> player reaction formula that many tabletop games use?
- Will dice be involved? If so, how dice-heavy is this supposed to be? (E.g. only combat is a quick die roll vs "roll a die to determine whether you can see anything through the muddy window")
- Also, if dice should be involved, are we following a certain system? Perhaps the tabletop game Delta Green has a dice system?
- Is the investigation fully GM-driven (as in the GM decides the clues, evidence, bad guys, hurdles, etc.)? I'm assuming this might be easiest

3) Should PCs be team members of years already or rather new recruits or anything goes?
- If new recruits are allowed/wanted: Should the PCs know anything about the 'occult' yet or are they supposed to be clueless in the beginning?

4) Can/Should the players also add to the occult lore of this world by creating their own (within the PCs backstory for example)?

Sorry to spring all of those questions on you in a simple Interest Check ^^ Feel free to take your time answering them or to gesture me gently out the door xD

Oh man, the characters are great so far from everyone. I thoroughly enjoyed going through the sheets, and the music. I freshened up my character from the previous iteration, making a few adjustments and rewriting some things. I realize I jumped ship last time, but the lack of posting everywhere (in my own game as well) really got to me. But, I'll give this my all, regardless, again, if we get around to it. I'm okay with being cut, though, to make room for someone else if you get a lot of players.

Edit: not using this character.

Damn, I really loved Nat and Mel together last round. Would have loved to see her again this time :)

An elderly man answers. He is dressed finely, like a member of the aristocracy, but sports a nasty black eye and a gash across his cheek. In the background a woman, also richly dressed, sits on a chair by the fire, her face buried in her hands. “Yes? What is it?” the elderly gentleman asks directly.

Show our guest in, Elric,” the woman says weakly, drying her tears with a silk handkerchief. The older man waves you inside and offers you a chair before asking if any of you would like a cup of tea. On a low table next to the chair the weeping elderly lady sits in, you can see that her cup of tea had stopped steaming without having been touched.

"I must apologize", the woman starts talking. "I assume I awoke you."

"I'm Lord Brewmont, this is my wife, Lady Brewmont", the man, Lord Brewmont, introduces her. "We didn't mean to cause you any stress."

"We arrived here last night..." Lady Brewmont wiped a few new tears from her eyes as the memory that ailed her resurfaced once more. “Elric is so busy these days, so we thought we would bring ourselves out to Orlbar for a little holiday. Our grandson, he’s so fond of the mountains. Loves all the stories. Our daughter died some years ago. He is all we have left of her.“ Lady Brewmont begins sobbing once more.

@Mistress Dizzy I think in the noparse thing the two images are the problem. For some reason, the noparse doesnt close the [img] code after the images. Include that and it should work.
@rocketrobie2 Ah damn :/ get well soon. Being sick sucks.

@Mistress Dizzy That's not good. You think it might just need an update or something and will work fine again? Certainly hope it's not dying :/
Still waiting for the others to post. 7 days is coming up.
@Mistress Dizzy I outlined it as a preference. Posting once per week is in the rules. Not more than that is necessary. I understand how busy life is, I also have one of those.
