Having seen what other people have said, I personally believe we should do something other than phase one.

The whole "Superheroism is just beginning" thing is done to death, we see a new movie series with this premise every year or so and I am personally sick of it. Starting later in the timeline would, in my opinion, offer a lot more intrigue as we see how the world has changed as a result of superheroes showing up.

It's also a lot easier to come up with ways to introduce characters in the later phases. Dudes fall from space all the time there, in Phase One that never happened. We don't even see Wakanda until Phase three, so that would leave an entire country unavailable because it maintains its splendid isolation up until T'Challa makes some changes.

I'm totally not saying this because my other superhero RP has been in Year One for almost a real life year now no siree.
Oh hello. I am interest.

More clanging rang out through the sound-polluted air as launched soldiers bashed into whatever surface they found. A few screamed and ran away as pieces of clothing caught fire as a result of Jai's fireball. Many soldiers near the bottom found themselves sent careening off of the prison walls by superheated air or concussive flame, the result of both Jampa and Jai's attacks, a number higher up on the wall began making their way downwards, extending platforms from the stone and hopping from one to another. The commanding soldier at the wall, who still wielded the stone funnel he had used to yell threats at the escaping prisoners, growled, hoisting soldiers to their feet with pillars of earth and directing them to chase after the quickly escaping duo.

A chorus of whistles rang through the air as the soldiers called for their ostrich horses. The soldiers mounted speedily, and kicked their horses into motion, crashing through fruit stalls and wagons on their way. Many soldiers were tossed head-over-heels by the confused beasts, eventually only five remained to chase the two, the rest too disorientated by the escapees' attacks or simply knocked out cold through mistake.

"Stop where you are!" they continued to feebly yell after the escapees. Many bystanders screamed as the cavalry tore past them, some running back into their homes, some continuing their business, and some packing up to leave the "worst city on the planet", if you were to believe their words. The rest of the road was filled with rubble and not much else, so it seemed that the only threat was coming from behind. Then a guard suddenly leaped from the roofs above, then another, then another, three in total. They levelled their spears pointlessly, but it would definitely be a speedbump, and even with the dispersed wind from Jampa slowing them, the horsemen were by no means stopping.

@Regitnui

The guard leaped around a foot into the air, flailing wildly as he tried to swing his sword. A confused look crossed his face and he took a normal standing position. He didn't recognize that boy, he wasn't a prisoner. The guard looked around, noting the carnage that had come about as a result of the escape. This boy was interesting, he wasn't dressed like anyone from the Earth Kingdom, but he was no soldier either. He had to get out of here, it was his duty as a soldier to protect people, and if An or anyone noticed what seemed to be a Water Tribe boy near a prison breakout... well, the North pole wouldn't have a city on it for much longer. It was kinda silly of a soldier to not want war, but that was who the guard was.

"Upper Ring? No, you need to get out of here right now, if anyone sees a Water Tribe boy next to a prison breakout..." He grimaced. "You'll be hung from your ankles and asked a lot of questions. I'll escort you out of the city, if there's any pressing business that you have it'll have to wait."

The guard motioned for Anitelu to follow him and began walking away from the prison.

"We're gonna go to the stables, you're gonna get on an ostrich-horse, and you're gonna get out of here, got it?"

Fang chuckled, pulling up an earth pillar to block the girl's overconfident attack. Teens were so foolish, she'd much prefer to fight the old airbender, at lead he'd be a challenge.

The first blast collided with the pillar, than Fang noticed the second. She had missed that, she had thought that elaborate attack would be it, but that second blast seemed to come out of nowhere. The pillar smashed under the force of the second blast. Fang quickly took up a guard stance, planting her feet as the flame crashed into her. She slid backwards, her lower arms screaming in pain as they were scorched. Better them than her face she supposed, breathing deeply as her arms seethed, her gauntlets glowing as a result of the heat.

She had underestimated this one, all firebenders were dangerous, perhaps the fact that she was fighting a girl and not a woman had made her forget that. She'd be careful to not do so again. Fang shook her arms and closed her fists, grunting as her burns protested against her moving them. She adjusted her helmet, pivoted her feet, and twisted her hips, getting back into position. In a sudden motion she threw up her arms and stomped into the classic earthbending stance, one arm raised, one arm lowered, both hands at ninety degree angles from the elbows.

"This was the wrong fight to pick, girl," Fang said haughtily, raising her chin at the firebender, though never averting her eyes. She decided to do what she had been taught to do. She pushed her feet into the soil, causing a small shake in the surrounding dirt. She would let the firebender make the next move, wait for her opportunity, and end the fight with one strike.
@pokemad1 After the current event we're actually doing a five year timeskip.

So if when the event gets done we'll be at Year Five instead of Year 2

Harris' eyes dashed between the battle in the skies above and the people on the ground, their hectic planning underscored by the pounding in the air of superpowered fists striking with superpowered faces. He mousily poked his fingers together, not speaking even when spoken to. His nerves were quite strong, you see, and when Harris was this nervous, there wasn't much that could force him to speak. He gulped as Grim pulled an exceptional amount of rank. He was never great around authority figures, well, the good type anyway; in terms of the bad kind, well, he had enough farming blood in his veins to know how to deal with a jackass.

"Wait why am I on lock-down duty? I can grow to the size of Godzilla for God's sake, I could easily smack her out of the air!" Harris protested, holding up his pointer finger. "Hell, I could probably throw harder than Tank over there, can he turn his arm into a slingshot? No, I didn't think so! And furthermore, I feel..." Harris caught a glimpse of the vast variety of weapons on Grim's... everything. He swallowed whatever words he was about to say and recoiled. It wasn't like they could hurt him, his human half was just irrational like that.

"I feel..." He stuttered, hemmed and hawed, made a few strange noises, the usual. "I feel like lockdown duty sounds great yeah!" He nodded nervously.

Nice save Harris.

General Fang growled as the airbender cleared her wall like it wasn't even there. She supposed she should have expected it, airbenders were notoriously fast and agile, but she would have preferred it if the chase had ended there. She punched her way through her own wall, taking off at speed. It was hard to run as fast as she was going in full armor, and she found herself beginning to falter and slow, the airbender showing no sign of doing the same. Upon witnessing him leaping past a pair of obvious Fire Island tourists, she decided to stop trying. She took one large breath and screamed as loud as she was able.

"CITY GUARD! STOP THE AIRBENDER AT ANY COST!" she roared out to the city guard, well, army that had drawn city guard duty, hoping that they made an attempt to stop the speedy bugger. She jumped slightly and planted her heels, forcing herself into a slow stumble rather than a full-tilt sprint. At that moment she noticed two fireblasts singe the air... and little else. Soon after one flew into a cart, much to the consternation of the trembling owner. Noticing the firebender preparing another assault, Fang stomped the ground, sending a rock flinging up into the air. The fireball struck the rock much like a ball of water, curving around and away from it like a swiftly growing flower. Not wasting time, Fang shuffled forwards speedily, planting her feet with a pivot and twisting her hips into the palm-strike, which send the boulder screaming through the air, where it collided with the offending firebender.

Noticing the other Fire Islands expatriate take a fighting stance, Fang shifted her weight lower to the ground, whirling her arms in a circle around her body with a stomp, producing a moderately sized rock, then thrusting her arms towards said Fire Islander with a roar, sending the rock flying at him at high speeds.

Arrows soared through the air, striking the ground near Laoshan's feet. The soldiers in the guard towers shot arrow after arrow, leading the airbender in order to ensure that the arrows at least land near him rather than far behind him. With every arrow loosed, it came closer and closer to striking Laoshan, almost piercing his calf at one point.

The men in the towers twirled the arrows in their hands, the sun glinting off of the arrowheads as they pulled the bow taut in front of their shadowed faces, their farmer's hats keeping the glare of the sun out of their eyes as they focused their shots.

A soldier screamed in terror as a suddenly falling Jampa struck his head with great force, he buried his feet in the wall, sending the back of his head slamming into it, leaving him unconscious and dangling.

The deflected boulder flew back where it came, before being struck by a similarly sized boulder and shattering into pieces in the air, sending shrapnel flying and embedding itself in wall and skin equally. The wall-climbing soldiers shielded their eyes and stopped their climb to avoid being blinded, precious time being wasted.

As Jampa hit the ground, a few of the soldiers charged in, only to get sent careening through the air by his cyclone of air. They each clanged into the ground, letting out a symphony of melodical dings as their helmets hit stone or their breastplates clanked into each-other. Some screams, some groans, then the hearty song of weaponry being drawn. The soldiers charged forth and surrounded Jampa, probing slightly with spear and sword,

Those who hadn't been knocked off of the walls clambered to the top, drawing their own weapons and roaring out instructions to stand down as they rushed the people still on the wall, tossing rocks and insults without even allowing them a chance to follow their instructions.

Mount Olympus

Blow after blow rained down against Eris, who now had her arms raised in defense. Burning through the pure air of Olympus at speeds beyond the comprehension of even the fastest of Earth’s recording technology, Lady Arcana slammed her fist into the other woman’s gut, causing her guard to drop just long enough for her to follow it up with a right cross that sent the Goddess of Discord flying back towards the golden palace.

Towers toppled as she ripped through it, the very mountain itself threatening to collapse from the impact and take everything with it. Eris, however, soon shot from the rubble, black wings spread fully like a great, malevolent raven. Blood poured from her lip, but she was far from defeated.

Shooting forward into Arcana, it was her turn to slam her fist into the heroine’s jaw. Once more Olympus groaned as more of its resplendent architecture toppled, the now violet-hued Wizard involuntarily smashing through several impossibly ancient structures.

Lady Arcana could feel the sting of that blow in the corner of her mouth, the warmth of a trickle of blood working its way down her chin telling her that she was facing an opponent stronger than any that had come before. This was the first time she had ever felt true pain while in her Arcana form, and certainly the first time she had ever bled.

Still, she wasn’t even close to giving up.

Rocketing from the liquified remnants of what had once been a bathhouse, Lady Arcana slammed into Eris’ nose with a thunderous headbutt that sent the Goddess’ neck snapping back as fresh blood poured from her nostrils. Following this up, the superheroine leveled both of her palms at her winged foe, blueish-white flames--plasma, really--pouring from them.

One hand clutching her nose to stem the bleeding, Eris extended the other towards Arcana, erecting a spherical shield to block the oncoming stream of burning miasma as it swept over her body.

Harris flapped above the quickly becoming destroyed buildings of Mount Olympus, he watched as the two godly beings pummeled each-other over, and over, and over again. He felt like he could have just stayed with Hades, he seemed like a cool guy, hell, maybe they’d let him put in a few more plants, the Underworld was just so dour. He tried to stay focused, but the pure speeds that Karen and Eris were achieving made that hard. So he just floated with crossed arms. What was he to do?

Rising from the flames--her shield having only just withstood them, Eris dispelled it and leveled both of her hands at Arcana, a blast of raw Godwave energy emerging from them and enveloping the heroine.

Unable to stop herself from screaming against the searing pain that threatened to light every one of her nerves on fire, Lady Arcana was sent plummeting through the clouds of Olympus, with Eris already in hot pursuit.

Extending her hands to either side of her body, Eris appeared to seize hold of the air itself. No, a better way of putting it would be that she had seized the very fabric of space-time. Drawing the two parts together until it looked as if she was holding a large blanket made of reality itself, she swung it down at Lady Arcana, impacting the other woman with a force that literally sent shockwaves through the very universe itself.

LIke a asteroid breaking through the atmosphere at impossible speeds, Lady Arcana broke through the seemingly infinite cloud layer of Olympus, before hitting the dimensional barrier separating it from the Earth...and tearing straight through it. Eris seemed almost surprised by the sheer strength of her last attack, but quickly followed after her, the two women taking their battle to the realm of mortals.

”Oh crap,” Harris exclaimed as he watched the two punch each-other into a different reality. He tried to follow but could find no trace of them. Well, he supposed just floating through the barrier would work? Maybe? He tried anyway, despite being unsure, fluttering his way out of Olympus.

Unfortunately, Harris seemed to lack the proper oompf necessary to break through the dimensional barrier, the living embodiment of nature bouncing off it almost like a trampoline.

Harris sputtered as he bounded off the reality wall. He tried again, and again. He must have looked like the world’s biggest house fly. Finally he gave up with a huff, and transferred his consciousness back to Earth.

The clash of Goddesses had continued above the Earth, the pair racing across the thermosphere while exchanging thousands of planet-shattering blows with each passing second, with no small amount of divine magic thrown in-between their frequent melees.

Harris budded up from the ground, watching as Karen and Eris collided once more. That wasn’t surprising. Even if she was holding her own impressively, knowing from the Green’s vast memory that a godwave wielder was practically unstoppable, even by a physical god, Harris realized that he would have to see about getting help. Wasn’t much he could do himself, unlike them he was constrained by the laws of physics.

Maybe some other heroes were up to something. His consciousness floated back into the Green, the vast memory of every plant to ever exist flooded his mind. Based on what they remembered, that big ol’ splotch of nothing by that dam hadn’t always been there.

He again budded from the ground, not shocked to discover a scene out of a war movie. The passed out giant, who he remembered to be Cronus, was presumably the reason behind all of this damage. He looked around, trying to figure out just what in god’s name had managed to knock a Titan into unconsciousness. He spotted a few clearly tired heroes lounging about, one or two of whom he recognized… sorta.

”Hey!” he called out to them through cupped hands. ”I’m guessing that most of you know Lady Arcana, right?!

”Well if you look up a bit, you will notice the fact that she is… punching a god!” He pointed a thumb over his shoulder towards the sky, he only had to wait a few seconds for a sonic boom to roar out, parting the clouds and leaving a circular hole where they once had been. ”And I’m pretty sure she’s not gonna be able to handle it alone, so uh… do something! Please!” he pleaded, as yet another sonic boom sent a wave of powerful wind over the area.

Even though the battle was taking place in the troposphere, they could still make out the sight of two fireballs rapidly dancing across the night sky, occasionally colliding with a terrible thunder. Whenever they grappled, the pair would form a vicious accretion disc made up of the trace amounts of atmosphere around them, before breaking apart and resuming their superluminal jousting anew.
Road to 8 Paths Prison, Ba Sing Se

General Fang's Ostrich horse skidded to a halt not far from the walls of the 8 Paths Prison. She frowned as she noticed the large gathering of prisoners on the building's wall. She hopped off of the steed, her unit following in her example soon after. They'd all be back in their cells by the time the coronation began. That was a promise, one that she made to herself, but a promise nonetheless.

She watched with a raised eyebrow as the people on the walls clearly began to talk to each-other. She turned to her lieutenant, who looked back with a stern look of preparedness.

Suddenly an exceptionally loud roar rang out through the city, one of the men on the wall flat out yelled the rest of the group's plan and then took off at a great speed. Fang smirked to herself at the man's cockiness. One of the airbenders she presumed, only explanation as to how he got so loud.

"Knock them off the walls, I'll catch the airbender," she ordered. She took off in a sprint, lifting the ground into a ramp in order to allow her to run along the walls.

Her troops followed her orders and quickly approached the walls. One of them constructed a funnel out of stone and yelled into it. Roaring out that he would make the escapees beg to be locked back up. He raised his arm and the rest of the unit produced a number of sizable boulders from the ground, keeping them floating over their head with a pair of raised arms. The leader dropped his arm, and the men tossed the boulders, arcing through the air and smashing into pieces against the wall. A number of the unit continued launching boulders, but a smaller contingent approached the wall, launching themselves off of pillars of earth and lodging their limbs into the earthen walls of the prison, beginning to climb.

"We are the elite! There is no escape!" the leader roared into his sound-funnel, cockily grinning as he did so.

Meanwhile, General Fang sprinted along the city's many roofs as fast as she possibly could, watching as the airbender did the same along the city's roadway. Finally she had enough distance on him to leap down in front of him, slamming her feet into the ground with enough force to shatter it, and at the same time bending a large wall of stone to close off the street behind her. Without looking at the airbender, she twisted and slammed her palm into the wall, producing a large cube of stone, which she kicked towards him as hard as she could.

Mount Olympus

The very ground of Mount Olympus shook, cracks appearing in the ground as vines and tree trunks sprouted from the very stone that the godly structures were built upon.

The ground quaked, buildings sliding along the now less solid ground as something rose from below. A Green beast, reptilian in appearance but plant=like in construction, rose from beneath the broken ground.

The monster's upper body twisted and spun in the skies above the golden roofs that marked the realm of the Gods, gazing upon the ground below with eyes full of indignation and an unconstrained rage. Beneath the surface, its lower body pushed against the indestructible foundations of the gods' buildings, holding it upright.

It steadied itself, standing over the godly throne room. Its mouth opened as it coiled slightly, before shooting forth at great speed and letting out a deafening roar into the skies above.

Harris smiled from within The Green.

Gaia's home.

He sprouted from atop the beast's head, appearing like a man half-submerged.

"Gaze upon your sire, Gods of Olympus!" he roared, attempting to sound as "Godly" as possible, intimidating the vocal qualities of those gods that he had met in the Underworld. He knew that the Gods respected theatrics; since merging with The Green, his memory had been filled with events thousands of years old, and from what he remembered of the Pantheon, they were a theatrical and prideful bunch.

The beast coiled through the air before darting forwards, tearing its way up the massive staircase, finally slowing to a stop in Zeus' throne room.

Harris hopped off of the dragon-like beast, which crumbled into nothing behind him. He just wanted to make an entrance is all, the Gods were like to respect it. He hoped. He wouldn't want to embarrass himself in front of a bunch of literal gods. He quickly scanned the three people in the room already. It took a little searching through his abyssal memory to recall their names, but he was understandably quite starstruck to be in the presence of two titans.

And Eris too he guessed.

"Hey," he offered with a small wave, that was all he could say really. Though he quickly reminded himself what he was here for, and his face grew firm once more. "Oh, Eris, good to see you, hope you're not too mad with me after what I did to your son and all, I think he deserved it," he taunted, perhaps unwisely. Definitely unwisely, but even as an anxious lump made itself known in his chest, he continued. "Yeah, it's too bad too, he was doing a pretty good job watching over Hades, but, well, once Hades' done taking care of his wife and things, he's gonna be pissed."

This is a terrible idea.
King's Palace, Upper Ring Ba Sing Se

"Yes that will fit nicely, hmm, maybe a little more taut here..." the attendant muttered to himself as she ran her hands all over the gaudy gold robes that hugged against An's frame in an incredibly uncomfortable way. An attempted to move his arm to perhaps get some feeling back into it, but bending his elbow any further than the ninety degree angle at which they were seated seemed to risk ripping the robes, and the attendants quickly warned him how that would not do. An grumbled as they returned to tying and pulling and pinching.

"Is this thing really necessary?" he asked as a massive crown was placed upon his head, making him appear as if he had a multi-tiered temple for a head. The attendants seemed shocked that he would even ask.

"Yes my King, the crown allows the spirits to see that you are above all others, the jewels show your wealth and power, and the gold represents your courage and honor, like that of the brave armadillo lion," the attendants said reverently, clasping their hands and staring off into the distance with satisfied looks on their faces. An sighed as he twisted and curled his toes within the gold slippers that contained them, he couldn't wait to be out of here.

"My lord!" someone called from within the castle.

Oh thank the spirits.

"Come in, I'm in my wardrobe," An called out as a ceremonial blade was placed in his lap. He heard the door pushed open and the hurried steps of the messenger as he smashed through the attendants' make-up platters and clothing hampers, much to their chagrin and much to An's pleasure. The red-faced messenger fell to his knees in front of An, kissing the floor in front of him for a short second before hastily pushing himself to sit upon his feet as he spoke.

"My king, there's been a breakout in the 8 Path Prison, we are unsure as to the specifics but-"

"Oh yes! Finally, something to do other than sit in this chair! Get me out of these robes, I have to go fight!" An yelled, throwing himself from his chair and beginning to tug at his robes. The attendants quickly mobbed him and forced him back into a seated position.

"My king, we need to finish dressing you! We can't delay the coronation any longer!"

"But I wanna go fight!"

"My king please, this is far more important than some criminals breaking their cages."

An sputtered and pleaded but the attendants refused to budge even an inch. Finally An sighed and allowed them to continue.

"Send General Fang and a unit of earthbenders, don't let them get out of the prison; the gates are opening so that the lower classes can see my coronation, and I'd rather not let a bunch of dangerous criminals jump onto my doorstep," he said dejectedly. The messenger nodded and quickly left the room, leaving An once more at the mercy of the attendants, who began pouring water on his face. An sputtered and coughed out his displeasure but they continued a few seconds longer. Finally An had enough air to speak, and he coughed out the most pathetic "why?" he'd ever heard.

"We need to prepare your face for the paints! Speaking of paints, that beard's gonna need to go!" the attendants said in chorus, beginning to menace him with a number of pairs of scissors.

An screamed internally.

"General Fang, you're ready?" Fang's batman asked as Fang finished clicking her armor into place.

"Saddle the Ostrich Horses, I want to get there as fast as possible."

The batman nodded and fled the tent.

Fang only had to wait a short time before the batman returned.

"Your horse has been saddled General, the men have already begun mounting up." the batman informed, clasping his hands behind his back. Fang rotated her wrist and strode over to the flap of the tent.

"Stay with the tent, I won't need you."

Fang left the tent slowly but purposefully, striding over towards the rest of the group with puffed chest. She mounted her ostrich horse and turned it back towards the gathered soldiers.

"You all know who I am and why we're here, so I'll skip the speech, but be assured, if even one of those prisoners gets away, you'll answer to me," Fang said, deepening her voice as she spoke. "I'm sure you won't let them, that would just disappoint me," she said with a smirk on her face. With a kick to the side of her mount, she took off towards the prison, riding through the streets of the capital with her unit in tow.
