Current I think to sell someone on an interest check, it's really important to seem enthusiastic about your own idea. That means writing more than a single sentence to attract potential players.

Did you know that Dante's inferno is called a divine comedy because things work out for the protagonist? Back in the day, the only two genres were comedy and drama. The only difference was that in a comedy, the protagonist is better off at the end, and a drama is the opposite. So that's why a story about going through hell can still be considered a comedy, even if it's not funny.

Name:
Broken Promise, BP, Boss

Age:
Old enough to know better, too young to care. (that is to say 30's)

Preferred RPs:
I Prefer to make my own, but will occasionally join something if it looks interesting. I'll join just about anything so long as it isn’t overly edgy/sweet, though it's rare for me to do. I don't do 1x1s too often either.

Preferred Roles:
I tend to play adorable characters everyone wants to befriend or proper assholes everyone wants to stay away from. I try not to play moral paragons or prime evils.

RP Conquests:
I've completed quite a few RP's off site, but most of them are on private forums or have simply been lost to the ravages of server crashes. As for stuff here, I'm sure everyone who sees me post in the off topic sections has seen me find an excuse to talk about Danganronpa: Tower of Carnage. It's a project that took over 4 years to complete and I feel pride not only for myself but all the wonderful people who helped make it enjoyable during its run. Re: Zero: The High Council Is technically my first, but it was just something I kind of took over and ended up ending the story after just six months. It finished, but eh...

Last RP I finished was Symphony of Espers which turned out pretty good.

RP's in progress:
For some reason I can't seem to stay away from Ari's magical girl RP, even if I'm not sure why I'm still in it.

As for my own projects, I'm doing Symphony on High to continue the gigachad adventures of the espers in Pax Septimus.

RP Graveyard:
I've been pretty fortunate on this forum. I think I joined one when I first came on the site that didn't really do anything, and there are a few 1x1 things that didn't go anywhere. It's disappointing when an RP ends before it can be finished, but I've come to look at them as learning experiences.

And then there's that london magical girl RP, and that dark magical girl RP. I think I'm done joining magical girl RPs for a while.

Other interests:
Videos
I watch a lot of educational videos on youtube. Usually as research for something I’m writing or purely because a topic interests me. I like channels like Tier Zoo and Daryl Talks Games, and I’ll also watch things like Critical Drinker or Literature Devil to deepen my understanding of story telling. Though I also like memes and jokes, to which I’ll find myself watching stuff like Sseth, but usually find myself surfing through meme videos. I gotta work on that.

Games
I have a rather long history of playing virtually every platformer to come into existence during the indie boom, as well as quite a few other indie games. I’ve played Meatboy, Binding of Issac, Gunvolt, Cuphead, Princess Remedy in a World of Hurt, Classic Metroid, Warcraft 3, Final Fantasy 7,8, and 14, Left 4 Dead, Shantae, Celeste, Danganronpa, God Eater, the list goes on. What I’ve played is kind of all over the place. I don’t play many games these days, I tend to pick things that look interesting and go on a decent steam sale.

Painting Minis
I do this in moderation. Otherwise, it's a pretty expensive hobby to start...

Music
I listen to everything, save most country/rap songs. I have too many favorites to name.

Personality:
Not one to take life or the internet too seriously. Is only serious about writing well and having a good time.

People to Insult:
Dalton is a Dingus.

An interest check is a resume from the GM. It's a chance for them to show you how serious they are about their pitch, how they write, and how they plan on running things.

A check should have a catchy title to get me to click on it. Once I'm looking at the check itself, it should contain all of the relevant information I need. I want to know who the player characters are, what the setting is, just enough about the plot to get started, and for any special mechanics to be explained in great detail. When I read an interest check, I want to know the GM has a vision for their project and has put some thought into how things will work. If a check does all of that and sounds like something I'd join, I join it. The temptation is to post one of my own ICs, but instead I'll use this one. Notice how we're given a little sample of how the GM writes and then they dive immediately into the player characters, followed by all the information required to make them believable. It's also formatted well.

I will join an RP like that a hundred times over something poorly formatted. Especially if the GM has little to no information about the setting we're playing in. I shouldn't have to ask any questions about the most basic elements of the setting. even in a fan RP I'd like the GM to point out any places where they choose to not conform to canon or any special additions they made. I won't even click on a check titled "______, Anyone?" or something equally on the nose. It shows a lack of creativity and such checks are often as basic as white bread.
Alternatively, pick up a few new hobbies. I use to try to fill my time with writing but I find that people can be kind of inconsistent and I end up not having enough time to write or having a lot of free time that I squander watching videos. I've since picked up miniature painting and occasionally playing videogames. The wonderful part about these hobbies is that because no partners are involved I can spend as much time on them as I want. Roleplaying doesn't have to be all or nothing.
@ThatLostDude The best antidote to 1x1 rejection woes is to join a group RP. Generally speaking, GMs are happy to take on several players and aren't going to be nearly as fussy as people in the 1x1 section. Best part is group RPs can survive if a few people flake off. Even the shortest lived RPs usually last a few months, so you can get some posting in even if you have an inexperienced GM. Though if you do your research you can pick a GM that knows what they're doing.

The second thing to realize is, as you mentioned, you might be the problem. Unfortunately you aren't going to get much feedback from 1x1 partners. A lot of people have "retaliation anxiety" and would rather just stop talking to you altogether than work through your problems. So you to look back through and really consider why you think this person stopped writing with you.

The third thing to realize is it could be them. Maybe they didn't have as much time to dedicate to an RP as they thought, maybe the idea wasn't as fun as they thought, or maybe they just can't stick with anything.

Fourthly... Aren't you being a little impatient? I don't know how long "a few days" is, but most people can't do daily posts, even if they say they can.

Just about every group RP I've decided to GM in recent memory has successfully come to an end. It might have taken a few years or as many as five, but it happened. Out of the several 1x1 RPs I've tried to get going, few of them start, and almost none of them made it past the first page. If rejection is an issue for you I would stay away from the 1x1 section.

What had looked like a bad situation was coming under control. They couldn't assume this was the only dragon present, which was all the more reason to get it under control as fast as possible.

Now that Luana was behind it, she lobbed more seeds at it's rear quarters. With Reinhardt holding it down, it would hopefully lose the ability to resist too much. Luana did wonder if it might be worth capturing and interrogating it, since it could speak. But was that a risk they wanted to take with something so dangerous?

DID SOMEONE SAY BROKEN- Oh you're looking for code.

Here's my attempt at recreating the forum with BBC code for part of a post I did a while ago. It's pretty easy to force break too, since it's all tables. Like if you put parts of the code on a different line, it can create a space above the table.

The test forum has quite a bit of BBC code to look through too. Can confirm Exit tries a lot of crazy stuff.
Omega strikers just released two new strikers: A pair of oni musicians. Everyone is playing the guitarist, but I can say that while my connection was stable, I did get in a match with the singer and I think she's a nice intermediate-level striker with an intuitive kit. I'll get back to you with more if my connection clears up.

EDIT: Got to play the sister. I'd comment on her but her special is so powerful I'm sure she's going to get quick nerfed.
Well, my images weren't deleted. I was concerned because they said they were going to have a bot look at all the hidden images and decide what needs to be deleted. But it seems like everything's okay.
Wait, people use imgur without an account? I didn't even know that was a thing.

"Damn Reinhardt, you scary!”

@Rune_Alchemist@Crimson Paladin@Guy0fV4lor

Luana waited for the dragon bolder to roll over her, but it never came. When she stood up to see why that was, the knight that she had been talking to decided to just take it head on and throw it backwards. Clearly, Reinhardt had more than earned his reputation as an invincible warrior. Luana would be lying if she said she didn't feel a bit useless right now.

But she did have something to contribute. Maybe. There was something up with that dragon's claws. From what she observed, the bear hadn't been incapacitated by the scratch it took, but something that happened afterwards. Poison? A curse? Those were Luana's best guesses. Telling Reinhardt not to get hit seemed a little silly, so maybe she could help him out more directly.

She reached into her pouch and flung some acorns over Reinhardt's shoulder. With any luck, they'd smack into the dragon's claws and coil thick roots around them. She didn't know if he could handle whatever those talons did, but she was sure he could handle a good clubbing. The dragon's claws hadn't been strong enough to slay the bear outright, so maybe it would have difficulty slicing through its wooden mittens.

”There's something potent in those claws.” She called over his shoulder. Luana attempted to circle around the dragon. When fighting strong prey, it was always best to spread out and surround them.

"The Storm Cycle: Reclamation has to be one of the only RPs where you can wait a week after the GM update and still be first to post.”

@Rune_Alchemist@Crimson Paladin@Guy0fV4lor

Despite Luana's attempts, Reinhardt was not going to say anything else about the matter. This just prompted an eye roll from the hermit.

”Whatever.” She'd just have to talk to the queen about this later. Surely refusing to answer a pressing question like this was against some kind of rule? Reinhardt had sworn allegiance to the same queen she had, so there had to be some way to get him to speak.

But Reinhardt's refusal to treat her as an equal was hardly the most pressing issue at the moment. Something had decided to roll itself up into a ball and was headed right for them. Stopping something so large and so fast was outside of Luana's skill set. The best she could do was survive the thing's attack.

”Everyone, find cover!” Luana didn't think she had time to dig a hole or run to hide behind the black dragon's corpse. Her eyes scanned the ground until she found a rut. It was likely caused when moving some of the large wagons around on a rainy day. She dove into it and waited for the dragon to roll past her. While lying on her side, she gazed into her spear to get a better look at the creature.
