I think to sell someone on an interest check, it's really important to seem enthusiastic about your own idea. That means writing more than a single sentence to attract potential players.

Did you know that Dante's inferno is called a divine comedy because things work out for the protagonist? Back in the day, the only two genres were comedy and drama. The only difference was that in a comedy, the protagonist is better off at the end, and a drama is the opposite. So that's why a story about going through hell can still be considered a comedy, even if it's not funny.

Name:
Broken Promise, BP, Boss

Age:
Old enough to know better, too young to care. (that is to say 30's)

Preferred RPs:
I Prefer to make my own, but will occasionally join something if it looks interesting. I'll join just about anything so long as it isn’t overly edgy/sweet, though it's rare for me to do. I don't do 1x1s too often either.

Preferred Roles:
I tend to play adorable characters everyone wants to befriend or proper assholes everyone wants to stay away from. I try not to play moral paragons or prime evils.

RP Conquests:
I've completed quite a few RP's off site, but most of them are on private forums or have simply been lost to the ravages of server crashes. As for stuff here, I'm sure everyone who sees me post in the off topic sections has seen me find an excuse to talk about Danganronpa: Tower of Carnage. It's a project that took over 4 years to complete and I feel pride not only for myself but all the wonderful people who helped make it enjoyable during its run. Re: Zero: The High Council Is technically my first, but it was just something I kind of took over and ended up ending the story after just six months. It finished, but eh...

Last RP I finished was Symphony of Espers which turned out pretty good.

RP's in progress:
For some reason I can't seem to stay away from Ari's magical girl RP, even if I'm not sure why I'm still in it.

As for my own projects, I'm doing Symphony on High to continue the gigachad adventures of the espers in Pax Septimus.

RP Graveyard:
I've been pretty fortunate on this forum. I think I joined one when I first came on the site that didn't really do anything, and there are a few 1x1 things that didn't go anywhere. It's disappointing when an RP ends before it can be finished, but I've come to look at them as learning experiences.

And then there's that london magical girl RP, and that dark magical girl RP. I think I'm done joining magical girl RPs for a while.

Other interests:
Videos
I watch a lot of educational videos on youtube. Usually as research for something I’m writing or purely because a topic interests me. I like channels like Tier Zoo and Daryl Talks Games, and I’ll also watch things like Critical Drinker or Literature Devil to deepen my understanding of story telling. Though I also like memes and jokes, to which I’ll find myself watching stuff like Sseth, but usually find myself surfing through meme videos. I gotta work on that.

Games
I have a rather long history of playing virtually every platformer to come into existence during the indie boom, as well as quite a few other indie games. I’ve played Meatboy, Binding of Issac, Gunvolt, Cuphead, Princess Remedy in a World of Hurt, Classic Metroid, Warcraft 3, Final Fantasy 7,8, and 14, Left 4 Dead, Shantae, Celeste, Danganronpa, God Eater, the list goes on. What I’ve played is kind of all over the place. I don’t play many games these days, I tend to pick things that look interesting and go on a decent steam sale.

Painting Minis
I do this in moderation. Otherwise, it's a pretty expensive hobby to start...

Music
I listen to everything, save most country/rap songs. I have too many favorites to name.

Personality:
Not one to take life or the internet too seriously. Is only serious about writing well and having a good time.

People to Insult:
Dalton is a Dingus.

"Haha, I'm in danger!"

— Luana Roycroft

@Rune_Alchemist@Crimson Paladin

Learning from your failures was valuable, but not nearly as valuable as learning from other people's mistakes.

Luana had witnessed Ethelred and his steed getting swat away by the dragon's flexible tail. What had been a solid blow against the frigid knight would most certainly take Luana out of action. But it was something she was aware of. The druid hugged the dragon's back as its tail flew over her back. She knew she couldn't stab it to death, she just needed to keep it stationary so that Ethelred could deliver a decisive blow. It couldn't claw out of her vines so easily if she was there to ward off its magic.

But the drake changed tactics. Instead of swatting her away, it aimed to crush her under its own tail. She rolled onto her back to avoid the first strike. Then she slid side to side to avoid the next blow, and the one after that. The drake had proven to be resilient, and the fact that it could flog itself over and over without concern didn't surprise her. This wasn't something she could keep up forever.

With a grunt, Luana slid down the side of dragon and hugged it's stomach. Its thick scales provided just enough grip for her fingers and toes to find purchase. She didn't have time to recover her spear, but if her companion's next blow was decisive, she wouldn't need it.

"Stay on target..."

— Luana Roycroft

@Rune_Alchemist@Crimson Paladin

"He's almost got- no, they retreated again.“

Sitting around for an hour was boring. Hearing about your ally’s' close scrapes with death, minute by minute, was nerve wracking. But it was important to know how he was doing moment to moment. If he were to fall in battle, Luana and Ethelred would need to change their strategy. It was hard enough to resist the urge to just chase after him. But maybe a short break to stop them from going insane was in order.

"Ethelred?“ Luana was still in her cat form. "This is just our second outing together, but I'm glad I got to go with you. It's too bad Lugh and Elnith aren't here, even if the little guy has been avoiding me. I don't think he’s forgiven me for um, ‘protecting’ him last time.“ She chuckled. "I have to admit though, being a knight isn't what I thought it would be. When I was a hunter there were usually a half a dozen or more of us. We didn’t always know one another, but we understood comradery was important. I would trade secrets with hunters I just met. We were numerous, but our prey was strong and required perfect teamwork to take down. If you doubted your hunting pack, you were already dead.“ She flicked her tail side to side. "This might not be the knightly thing to say, but I... am not sure if I care for how Reinhardt and Sorcha conduct themselves. They’re secretive and detached from those around them. At least that’s how it feels. Maybe once you become that strong you don’t feel like you need to rely on anyone. Do they only treat me this way? Do the other knights act like that?“

Maybe there were better topics to pass the time with.

Before long, Luana would go back to monitoring their purple-haired-half-fey friend, who seemed to be heading right for them.

"Ethelred! Positions!“

Ideally, the spinning dragon would have no recourse once it got onto the ice. The trap they set was heavy, and as soon as Ethelred triggered it, they wouldn’t have much time to escape. But their mark had proven to be intelligent and resourceful in the past, and so nothing could be left to chance.

Luana returned to her normal form and dropped a handful of seeds on the dragon. Twisting roots, spiky vines, they only needed to hold it for a moment. Regardless of how effective the trap was, Luana would then drop onto the dragon’s back and thrust her spear through it’s neck. She might not have been as strong as the knights, but she had the least to fear from its claws. Well, besides being rend in half. But with all Lonan had done, shedding a little blood was the least she could do to give the others a chance to finish it off.

"She didn’t take my advice. It’s not true love! But at least she’s aware of the 90s MSDOS game ‘Jill of the Jungle!’”

— Suki Oyama

It was hard for Suki to stay calm. The light cutie had stopped running and was making eye contact with her. Suki's heart felt like it was going to explode out of her chest. When she commented on how unsettling Suki looked in flight, the blood witch giggled before tipping her head. "I was scared too! I’m glad I lived!’” Such a considerate girl, far too pure for the likes of Hibusa town.

Suki expected the angel to run away again, but instead she did the unthinkable. The unbelievable. A huge surprise. In fact just hearing her do it caused Suki’s jaw to swing open. Her eyes twinkled like lakes in the summer sun. "Lycoris, or Homura!?’” She couldn’t be entirely sure, but it sounded like Homura had just told Suki her magical girl name and her real name. "Such beautiful names for a beautiful angel!’” To think she trusted Suki with so much information so soon! It was official, Homura was totally into Suki. But to Homura’s credit, she was going to play hard to get. She used the ol’ “Is that your phone? I gotta skedaddle!” trick. But Suki had run through fire, headbutted a tree, and just learned Homura’s name.

There was no way shei could let her go.

She looked at her phone just long enough to assuage Homura’s concerns. But once Homura's back was turned, the chase would resume. Suki already had two trees lined up that she could use to fling herself towards her mark. She wouldn’t aim too high this time. Her crimson tendrils coiled around the trees and-

*Smack*

Suki reeled backwards as a bullfrog landed square on her head. Even if the attack had blinded her, she could feel the amphibian’s wet, slimy body sliding down her face. But the frog clung to its victim, and was very chill with its perch. Suki reached up to pull the frog off of her face and-

*Smack*

A second bullfrog landed on her face. Suki used her other hand to pull it off before assessing her surroundings. But directly overhead, myriad silhouettes descended from the overhead branches and landed all over Suki.

*Smack-Smack-Plick-Smack-Smack-Smack-*

Bullfrogs, tree frogs, Suki was bombarded by so many frogs her only recourse was to topple backwards onto the forest floor. But there were even more frogs there. They were hopping all over the place, and didn’t seem to care if Suki was there or not. While the blood witch was initially confused by their appearance, that slowly changed to joy.. One by one, she caught the frogs, kissed them, and then tossed their unconscious bodies into the forest. But as she kissed more frogs, her brow started to furrow. It wasn’t until she kissed her ten or twentieth frog that she started to get mad.

"Come on! Where is he!?”

Before long, Suki was surrounded by a few dozen unconscious frogs. But Homura was nowhere to be seen. She could track her, but that was assuming that no more frogs would show up. And there absolutely, positively, would be more frogs. They likely covered her tracks with their rampant hopping too. With nothing better to do, Suki opened her phone and read her messages. She didn’t respond to anything. She just sighed before closing her phone. No angel, no frog prince, no romance tonight. She almost didn’t feel like eating. Suki’s bangs covered her eyes as she disappeared in the shadows of the trees.

”My other character is a tall nymphomaniac that loves everyone.”

—Amber Bianchi

Hata got a nod for her greeting. Amber didn’t go out of her way to talk to anyone, but Hata was someone she at least had respect for. Most of the teachers were younger than Amber, and hadn’t experienced the same pains that she had. This was likely true for Hata as well, but there was an unmistakable air of experience and maturity about her. This was made known when she offered to be the first to take a mystery shift on. Aya and Shinobu did as well, but the difference was Hata was offering out of compassion rather than some desire to become a “beacon of justice” or “protect the kids.” You can’t wish to protect someone without also wishing them into peril.

”Ngh!” Amber placed a hand between her eyes and the light that was shining into her face. ”My eyes work fine, thank you. This prescription isn’t even a month old.” Once Amber’s eyes had adjusted, she turned off her laptop and computer before standing up. That was when Kohaku asked everyone how they felt. ”I suppose I feel a little uneasy.” Amber grumbled the words to herself. Classes were going to start soon, but she doubted that was why everyone else was so nervous. She followed the other teachers out of the room. As the seconds ticked by, the dread in Amber’s chest grew and grew. Until…

”Wow…” Amber squinted her eyes. Someone had unbolted a locker from the wall and placed it in the center of the hallway. Someone must have used a grinder to cut it away from the wall, because it was letting off black smoke. It was amazing that the fire alarms hadn’t gone off yet. ”And we’re supposed to walk into it? Whatever, money’s money.” She took a quick glimpse at everyone near her before swatting Yui in the back of the head. It wasn’t hard, but would have been startling if she wasn’t expecting it. ”Next time you want to shine a light in my eyes, have the courtesy to ask first!” Why did she need to get her vision checked for this? But there wouldn’t be much time for talking. Amber was the next one to step through.

Amber remained deadpan as she scanned her surroundings. ”After seeing the hallway, I can’t say this surprises me.” Amber couldn’t remember what the sports field used to look like, or even if the school had one. It wasn’t involved with what Amber taught and she was never asked to supervise events there.

”Imagine a magical form?” Amber wasn’t sure what sort of happy “whistle while you work” bull crap this was, but if it meant more money she was fine doing it. In case they were going to quiz her on it later it probably helped to just do everything that was asked of her.

When she closed her eyes, a lot of different magical forms came to mind. She could see a pink haired samurai, a wise cat, a spear-wielding druid, a mystical ninja, even a plucky pirate. But everyone was talking about magical girls, so it would probably be best to do something in that vein: a girl that also had magic. It wasn’t like Amber had a lot of time to watch cartoons and didn’t even know what a proper magical girl was. But her sons liked to play tabletop games. She remembered them showing her all the types of characters you could play, and remembered creating her first character. It was an alchemist or something of that nature. They spent a lot of time introducing her to different races, but she didn’t like most of them. They ended up settling on some cute half animal race. The details were a little sketchy. She didn’t even remember what the character’s name was. They had never played a session or anything. There were barely enough hours in the day to sleep, let alone work and support three adults.

Amber opened her eyes.

”Let’s get this over with.”

She took one step forward and disappeared under the backpack that fell on top of her.
On screen kills? Yea, that's Nyxia.

"Hey new girl! I think you’re kind of missing the boat with having a quote under your banner. You can change it up over posts to suit the mood. Also, I don’t have a hateful bone in my body, but I am looking at something beautiful. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)”

— Suki Oyama

The detention club had a lot of members, and most of them were known for one outstanding attribute or another. Shaterscape had her speed, Earthshaker was strong, Evil Eye did reconnaissance the best, Mercurial was a strong magus, Kriegspiel was a tactician, Acid Drop could disable, Willow was slippery in mind and body, and the new girl was pretty good at killing things. If Suki had a reputation for anything, it was being relentless. Born from her depravity or determination, she always stayed the course.

If Tsubomi ended up tapping into Suki’s raw emotions, she didn’t eat nearly enough to deter her pursuit. Suki's eagerness to catch her mark grew stronger with every jump. The light girl moved like a ballerina, and Suki moved like an ice skater. A very aggressive ice skater. Her blooded skates allowed for nimble movement, but they cut into whatever she skated across. Each landing was punctuated by a burst of asphalt or dust. This was juxtaposed by her behavior mid jump. If she left the ground, she was performing a trick. A few axles, a flip, blowing kisses, making a heart shape with her hand, it seemed like she had something planned for every jump.

Suki’s state of euphoria didn’t abate. She didn't notice Kiyo’s bike stopping, as it blended in with traffic. She forgot about Tsubomi as soon as she skated past her. Even the warning shot from this girl was little more than a distraction. The flames were bright, but not as bright as the pink comet she was chasing across the night sky. Nothing could make Suki pause. Save for maybe a brief glimpse from her desire.

Her legs wobbled.

"I-I don’t want to fight either!” Suki chuckled. "Nor hurt anyone! But to let you go…”

She was looking ahead already. Oh, to be able to gaze into those eyes for more than a moment. To hear her quiet voice whispering hushed secrets into her ear. Suki wasn’t even able to complete her thoughts at this point. They were static overlaid with a single order she could understand. Pursue, pursue, pursue.

At some point, the town became the forest. The soft, uneven dirt under Suki’s feet demanded that she ran like a normal magical girl. It took more effort, but it wasn’t that much slower. Not like the terrain was more favorable for the light girl. The trees made it harder for her to get a clear shot, and the decreased visibility helped her just as much as it helped her pursuers. Of course, Suki wasn’t considering tactics while she gave chase. Nor was she thinking of anything ahead of what was immediately in front of her.

Like the burning debris.

It was a surprise, and Suki charged right over the flames. The pink fire was more of an annoyance than anything, but that changed the longer she ran over it. Her blood soaked feet were protected from the hazard, but not entirely. Blisters formed on the pads of her feet, which didn't take long to become uncomfortable. She cast her arm towards the trees, and her crimson launched at a low hanging branch. The red tendril pulled her off the forest floor. She did this again with her other arm, and again, and again.

"Weeee! I’m Jill of the jungle!”

But it wouldn’t do to just chase her mark. Magical girls had a lot of stamina, and it was only a matter of time before she found more help. So once she had a clear shot, she grabbed onto two adjacent trees and launched herself towards the light girl angry bird style. This was it. Suki was moving too fast to be avoided. She’d plow right into that girl’s back and-

Oh, she overshot by a few feet.

A red and white spear flew over the angel girl’s head and slammed into a distant tree. Suki’s arms and legs shot out to the side, and she slid down onto her feet. Feet that were covered in blisters. She stood up on her toes before turning around, hiding her hands behind her back.

"Hello!” Suki managed the happiest smile she could muster before taking a single, tiny step forward. "Is it weird if I say you have an elegant jump? You look just like an angel in flight!” She giggled once the words came out of her mouth. "I feel like you’re going to run away from me again. It’s okay, it’s what a lot of cuties do when they see me. But um.” She pulled out her hands and tapped her chest with both hands. "I’m Oros the Joyful! What’s your name?” She started to rest her heels on the ground, only to pop back onto her toes again.

The was also the faint sound of Mogalls screeching in the distance, but Suki paid little mind to it.
We due for some GM posts soon I think.

@ShadowSunRisen Well, if you wanted them to have their own songs, we could just grab some uncommon ones and pretend they came up with them on their own.

As for your song choice, I don't have a problem with it. I do hear a lot more drum then guitar though, kek! But we're probably going to drive ourselves mad if we try to find a song that has all and only the correct instruments.
@The World You're just a living index for abridged anime aren't you?

"The new girl’s kinda cute I guess.”

— Suki Oyama

After Suki left her message, she went right back to killing more miseria. They might have been getting more agitated, but their numbers were shrinking fast. It didn’t look like there were any more giant groups she could just throw herself at. At the very least, there weren’t any in Suki’s part of town. This only made her more anxious, as she hoped that their numbers weren’t thinning out due to everyone’s diligent hunting practices.

It didn’t take long for her phone to beep with a text message. Suki finished absorbing a miseria before ducking into a side street to look at her phone. She hadn’t seen any light girls yet, but it would be unfortunate if she got hit in the head with a giant hammer or it rained frogs while she was off guard.

Tsubomi’s message was brief, but it didn’t paint a nice picture of what was happening. Acid Drop needed to be saved? It was a little embarrassing that Boss Baby was the one to do it, but that was all the more reason to meet up with Tsubomi and figure out what was going on. But the mountains, Suki couldn’t remember, but she was pretty sure that was the direction she went to hunt miseria.

Suki’s eyes shot towards the heavens as something passed overhead.

It had to be the new light girl. Her hair breezed through the wind like a pink comet, and the silhouette of her bow stuck out in the darkness. But Suki wasn’t paying too much attention to that. Once the girl moved over the crest of her jump, her skirt opened up like a flower and revealed everything to Suki. Delicate legs clad in pink stockings. Winged slippers as white as snow. Panties adorned with enough cute hearts to even make the most hardened souls squee with joy. Suki’s brain was firing every synapse it could. Her disappointment with herself, the text from Tsubomi, it all faded into the background as her mind descended into ecstasy. She reached for the girl’s far off shapes, as if to pull them out of the sky.

But in Suki’s delirious state, she noticed something else. It was hard to read, but it looked like something was hanging out of the back of the girl’s panties. If she had to guess, it was likely a restraining order or some other legal document. But far more upsetting was what looked like a masculine hand, hairy and thick with veins It was pointing a pistol directly at her forehead. Suki’s heart skipped a beat, and she blinked. But that was all it took for the girl to disappear from sight. Was that a spell? A trick of the light perhaps? There was no way that was real.

But Suki had no reason to question the next figure that jumped overhead. This time it was Tsubomi. While she was an attractive girl, her pants didn’t reveal much when viewed from below. She could use her imagination, but that was never as satisfying or accurate as the real thing. Suki was pretty sure no one would guess what resided under her red leotard. Underwear visibility aside, Tsubomi’s presence meant that they could hunt their mark together now.

Suki jumped, bounding off building walls until she was up on the roof. Tsubomi was ahead of her, but Suki’s gaze returned to the light cutie jumping ahead of them. The pink haired girl looked over her shoulder, and Suki’s memories returned. The stockings, the slippers, the heart covered undergarments. She didn’t look bad from this angle either. Her little corset top revealed her shoulder blades, her oversized skirt made her look like a runaway bride. Her translucent wings made her look like an angel. Every inch of this girl screamed purity, grace, and vulnerability. Three things that Suki wan’t, but desperately wanted to have.

She gave chase.

The night was cold, but it was only now that Suki’s breath was warm enough to be visible. Her skin had turned to a light shade of pink. Suki’s tongue flopped out the side of her mouth like a dog running in the wind. She was skating noticeably faster now, enough to where she was starting to catch up to Tsubomi. As soon as they were side by side, Suki spoke to her partner without looking.

"I, won’t let, Eyeball, get this one!” She managed between breaths.

Drool seeped out of the corners of Suki’s smiling mouth before being swept away by the wind. Her unblinking eyes were locked on her target. Everything else was a distraction.
@CamiCat Sounds good. I'll have a post up tomorrow sometime.
