More monster than man, the creature we call the Caretaker was once a man. Who he was, we cannot say, as he was born of tragedy and horror untold even now. The only thing that is his own is his soul and even then, he is unsure if he truly has one. His name, his past, everything is but a question amongst his clouded memories. The Mysterium Dormum is his everything. His mind, body and soul, bound to the fate of this magical place. He serves it without question, without morality. It is his creator. Though over time, this poor creature has gained fantastical knowledge of which he can bestow upon his dear Regulators but it is all he can do. He cannot leave the confines of the house, he is tied to it until such a day comes that his service is over and the new Caretaker, takes his place.

Biography:
Born to muggle parents near the Northern borders of Texas in the USA, Richard lived a relatively normal life throughout childhood. His.... Incidents, with untamed magic were quite mundane compared to some stories- The occasional unexplained boom, a few times when he should have hit the ground quite a bit harder than he did, but nothing that couldn't be explained away as a "Happy accident". However, come his eleventh birthday, the simple farm upon which the Baar family lived was visited by quite an odd character- Leaving details aside, the basis of magic was explained to Richard and his parents, and he was accepted and taken to Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

His time there was incredible- Things he'd only ever dreamed of happened around him every day. His favorite memory, to this day, remains to be hearing the roar of the Wampus during house selection, watching the carving come to life. His excitement for the magical world never really faded, for every summer he would go home and live, again, the simple, mundane life of his no-mag family. He helped around the farm, attended summer classes to take care of his 'regular' learning, as his parents put it, and in his later years took up boxing to keep in shape and have something to do. That translated to a rather interesting take on dueling and transfiguration for the young man- Often altering the properties of his own body during a duel. His favorite example is when he turned his skin to rubber, and -bounced- into his dueling partner.

This creative use of magic also had a tendency of getting him into trouble. With a stubborn, old-school farm-boy attitude and the habit of solving his personal problems with a (Sometimes literal) stone fist, he found himself in detention. A lot. Not to say he was a bad kid- He simply took issue with anybody questioning his behavior, and often felt he had to prove himself to the pureblood and halfblood students of the school, due to him not being raised up around magic as they were.

As far as he lets on, that was how his life has gone- Simple, regular, nothing too incredible. And, aside from the top-tier grades in transfiguration and defensive magic that had ORO looking at him in the first place, there's no real evidence otherwise. Though he does seem particularly.... Bitter, towards werewolves.

Despite his incredible talents with transfiguration, Dick -never- managed to attain the status of animagus... A fact that irks him massively.

Always stuck in his ways, Dick has a habit of forgetting he has a wand in a fight- Instead just changing the makeup of his flesh and going in like the boxer he is, punching his way out. This is what earned him the nickname of 'Gloves' among the ORO.

He loves cats, and cats love him- It's pretty weird, like he's made of catnip or something.

I got a little bored, so I made a preliminary "First Impression" sheet for Kieran. Hopefully this will help give you all an idea of what he is like on a more personal level.

Emory Corrigan: “While I can’t help but see him as a broken man, Corrigan is the kind that will always carry on and get the job done, no matter how much he has lost. And for that, he has my respect.”

Isadora Albescu Fuji: “I’m not quite sure what to make of Miss Fuji. Of all people, I personally know how deceiving appearances can be, but I still can’t help but wonder at times if a girl as kind hearted and frail looking as her is truly cut out for our work.”

Nichole Arminstance: “Quirky is very succinct description for our Miss Arminstance. While a bit too bright and friendly for a demure stick-in-the-mud like myself, her skill in Transfiguration is undeniable and constantly proves herself to be an asset to the team.”

Florian Sabinov: “While some feel perturbed by Sabinov’s specialty in the Dark Arts, I can personally attest that a number of our cases could have ended in tragedy if it were not for his skills. You’ll be hard pressed to find a member of ORO that does not value him as a colleague.”

Velvet Gertrude Moon: “While this very well may be a case of a pot calling a kettle black, Miss Moon is a bit of an eccentric when it comes to tinkering with magical items. But it should also be noted that her quick and clever decision making has gotten us out of many a bind.”

Arthur Stone: “Our most senior member, Stone possess an invaluable amount of experience and knowledge in that old noodle of his. And on an unrelated note, I would greatly enjoy picking his brain to see if he has managed to uncover any ancient lore on werewolves.”

Natalie Jade DeVito: “While tragic pasts are pen and parcel for working at ORO, I can't shake the feeling that there is an especially frightening darkness lurking inside of Miss DeVito. While I’m hardly one to talk, I sometimes find myself worrying about this one.”

Athos Du Vallon: “Vallon is perhaps the only member of ORO that is truly a threat to my position as ‘Most Aloof Individual.’ Poor joke aside, Vallon has already been with us for a year but I feel as if I am closer to his shockingly well-mannered birds than the boy himself.”

Wondering if personality should be added into the character sheet? I feel like it's a big deal to have, especially when pairing people up.

I initially was going to put a personality section in there but my experience, there's too much exposition in a sheet which can dampen actual character progression, hence why most characteristics can be placed somewhere in the history and then expanded upon within the rp. That said if people want a personality section, by all means add it in if it makes you feel more comfortable.

I did mention in the intro post that once characters were all up, I would be adding a relationship sheet so that we could then all discuss how our characters perceive each other. Lest we forget, a lot of these guys have been together for a few years now.

Working on a character sheet! Lets see what I can muster up! LOL

Biography:
Athos was originally born in france. He was born to two pure blood wizards who died when he was only a year old. He somehow managed to get into the system and was then adopted by who he considers his parents and lived in Ireland since. He was quite lucky to get adopted by a wizard family who could then show him spells and other lessons which allowed him to show how adept he was at spell casting. When he received the letter to hogwarts his parents were quite proud and supportive.

Things seemed pretty standard until at the age of 14 he was walking the streets to his home to surprise his family only to be attacked by a dementor. He managed to call upon his patronus and make it home where he did not talk about the event. The creature has to been sighted sense and it is suspect that it went to find food elsewhere or another more talented wizard from that time found it and dealt with it.

One year later, Athos found a nest belonging to a crow. Though there were eggs, the mother seemed to have abandoned or was killed leaving the two eggs contained within. Thus, Athos took the eggs and raised the resulting crows. One a crow of white the other a crow of black. His crows are well trained and by how he acts with them you could almost swear they can communicate, but that is more likely to be the fact that he raised them.

Ethos found that spell casting was his specialty with him also being fairly good at care of magical creatures. Potions was a close third. He has a way with animals that is uncanny and caught the attention of many students that would result in bulling. Though, bullying did not last long since he seemed to completely ignore it and focus on his crows instead.

At the age of 18, his adoptive parents died. A tragic house fire took the lives of the people that had raised him and left him devastated. This caused Athos to go from rather extroverted to closed off seeming to talk to no one but the crows he raised.

With his adeptness at spell casting, Athos wanted to try out becoming an animals and was surprised when he was finally able to pull it off. He has kept this a secret for everyone. This seemed to make his bond with his pets stronger being that he turned into one of them.

After graduating (Upper class) Athos was finally scooped into the ORO due to the tragedies he had experienced (Death of his parents, and dementor attack) he was approached by the ORO. Originally, he had wanted to become a Magizoologist, but this sounded like a better option for him. He wanted his knowledge to go to some good and make his parents proud, even if he was not keen on being in a group.

Accepted, though I will say that personally based on that CS, I think his speciality would make more sense to be Magizoology. Spell casting is a very broad subject and his love for animals seems like it would be a better fit

OK guys, so current plan is for the Caretaker to be an NPC that all players can use. With that in mind, as I build him up I'd like some ideas from you guys for his backstory and abilities. Teamwork!

So throw em at me everyone, current outline is that he is an original member of ORO who was forced to become the caretaker of the house because he tried to kill himself there.
