Personality
To Jake, being a supervillain is more than just being a criminal. It's about being an artist, with banks and jewelry stores as canvases and gadgets and powers as brushes. He takes the rules of villainy very seriously and doesn't like it when villains try to take a theme that's already taken. As Mr.Gimmick, Jake uses several themes, but considers it an earned privilege. He also won't borrow another villain's theme without permission. Jake is polite and respectful, both in and out of costume, though his Mr.Gimmick persona is also playful. He tries to act as a parental figure and mentor to younger villains.
As of late he has also began to make supervillainy a movement, a quest to prove that being hero doesn't give you the moral high ground. He also has a deep hatred for Darks (violent antiheroes popular in the 90s), especially after Shadow Spectre incident.
Backstory
Some villains are in it for the money, others for power, and some for the fun. One of the latter was Jake's mentor Henry Walker, the original Mr Gimmick. He was the inventor of the campy supervillain archetype, who broke the law using a certain theme. This fad was quite popular during the 50s and 60s, and what drew Jake into villainy.
Jake became a villain at the age of 13. Back then he was little more than a bullied loser, until he met an older man, who told him about villains and how they did what they wanted and never let themselves get pushed around. From these lessons Jake gained confidence to confront his bullies and defeat them, while also gaining a friend and mentor in the man, Henry.
Eventually Henry retired, leaving Jake to become new Mr. Gimmick. But like his predecessor, Jake is getting old and soon needs to find a successor of his own. But who would be worthy of following such a legacy?
To find a successor, Jake decided to resurrect Ham & Cheese, an organization of campy supervillains from the 60s.
He managed to get himself a bunch of young villains also interested in becoming thrill villains. Unfortunately things took a turn for the worse when Shadow Spectre attacked Ham & Cheese's headquarters. Nobody was killed, but Mr. Gimmick's new proteges were injured and/or traumatized by the event. Now Mr. Gimmick once again works solo, this time to teach heroes the true meaning of good and evil. Legacy can wait until the Heroes of Castleburg have learned their lesson.
Power
Jake is a trained gadgeteer with some adventurer training, including boxing, added in, though he's using the gadgets more and more. Gadgets are designed with interchangeability in mind so that they can be reused multiple times. Jake is a talented escape artist and stage magician, which he uses to escape. He also knows a lot of creating costumes along with gadgets.

63
Date of Birth
November 15th
Physique
Brody is of the average size for an american man. He's decently muscular, brought by a training program designed to avoid over-training.

Hero

Affiliation
H.E.R.O (formerly freelancer)
Tier
D
Personality
Brody is a very cautious man due to his power, which sometimes makes him regret his actions and second guess everything he does. He has however accepted the limits of his power and tries to pull everything useful out of it. Even during out of action, Brody spends a lot of time going through safety and precaution protocols he has created and making sure that no important data goes lost.
Backstory
Brody had a relatively normal life for someone living in a world with 200 years of superpower history, until during one bad day a series of mistakes that could have all been avoided, caused him to gain the power of enhanced hindsight. Now, everytime he perceives or otherwise becomes aware of an accident, mistake or similar bad situation, he'll instantly know everything about how the situation could, would or should have been avoided. Brody, however learned to use his talent to the fullest. After retiring from his prior job as a Journalist, Brody became a full-time consultant superhero, providing combat, rescue and other protocols for numerous public, private and superhero organizations.
Although not the most popular of superheroes, Failsafe has a reputation of caution. It is probably because of it that he received an invitation from Hugo Powers to join H.E.R.O and bring some of that caution to the company. Brody leaves once again to consult another group of heroes. Only time will tell, if the lessons will stick.
PowerHindsight
Brody's power is to know how a situation or dilemma could have been prevented after it's happened. It's applications for combat are almost non-existent, but Brody has learned to use it for other purposes. As his power gives him perfect hindsight, Brody's visions give him knowledge that he didn't have prior to it, such as building designs. With this Brody can break into security systems and gather information, provided he has failed once. He has also trained himself to fight using the knowledge granted to him by his power. Failsafe's fighting style is highly efficient, designed to minimize enemy's chances to dodge or counter-attack. He is also a pretty good shot even without the power correcting his aim.
Although the power armor gives a some additional speed and strenght, its main function is protection and has been upgraded several times as Failsafe has discovered new protection requirements. At the moment the suit possesses full life support systems, allowing Brody to survive in a vacuum or in deep water. It also offers protection from fire, cold, electricity, acids, firearms, radiation and sonics.
