Learning the vocab of a new script can be a pain. At least BBCode syntax is simple.

Bio

I'm a generally chill gremlin that can be kinda particular. I grew up with plenty of electronics and video games, mostly with games like Final Fantasy, Zelda, and StarCraft. I like to blend magic and technology in my writing, bringing fantasy into space and sci-fi.

Penny and Sasha conveniently ignore the diversion, I see.
"I've always enjoyed breakfast at any time of day, myself. If not, then I'm not particular." Cliff fans the fire carefully when the wind dies, and shields it when the wind kicks up. Frouline return and lays her last bundle on the pile. Cliff looks at her and considers something. He separates a portion of the fuel and looks at Frouline. "Frouline, could you produce a mist for me?" The pokemon looks uncertain for a moment before giving it a shot. At first it's just a small stream of water, but with a little bit of effort, the stream slowly picks up pressure and changes shape. "Hmm... Try adding breath instead of pressure." Frouline stops and looks at him, thinking for a second about what she's doing and then trying it out. The stream sputters and struggles, with mild success but nothing that could really be called a mist. "Almost..." After a little bit, Frouline seems a little tuckered from the extra effort, and Cliff smiles. "That's alright. You can rest."

Cliff turns back to the fire, looking up at Rowan. "Just hurry up, before we need more wood."
Trinity: Okay, that's enough arguing personal demons at each other in the middle of the street, let's go eat.
Trinity Stratos

Trinity didn't really understand what they were arguing about at first. When the gravity of their personal argument caught up with her, she felt a little at-odds listening in. It seemed like rather private personal details, but she couldn't just back out. She had to work to help the Karns, too. And what a sticky situation that was. Three obvious options, each one sucks. Two of the three being Karn eats Karn, winner lives here. Or gets sent through when another Edolas portal opens, apparently, but then would the Edolas folks even remember her? Their final option sounded hazardous. It was only buying time.

So, eKarn wants to go home, but is resolved not to. They didn't even have a merciful option, either. To have your soul consumed... But, there must be something they could do. If they could run into Annalise, she might have an idea, or maybe Fleo? She was the one who caught Annalise's soul in her hat, but that was probably just a fluke...

Arguing in the middle of the rain was only going to get them sick. "Well, alright. I've learned what I need to know. I'm sorry to have been so suspicious of you, Ka... hm." She gazed at Karn thoughtfully before shrugging and continuing, "Karn. Caution was all it was. However, now that we have an understanding, let us go to lunch." She looked at Penny and Sasha briefly. It was time they started to make their guest welcome, now that the situation was understood. To be stuck in a foreign land, and in such a situation. Dreadful.
Uhg, did I really make her say that? No wonder I didn't get a response.
"Thank you, Melody. I'm just fortunate that there's wood this dry here. I wonder how long it's been since it rained?"

"That's alright, Niesha. I don't have a fire type, so need to be prepared." He sits with the fire, maintaining a low burn until they're ready to begin cooking. They didn't have much fuel to work with in the first place, so they'd have to manage what they had. Frouline brings him more and he stops her to pet her for a moment. He pats her on the back after a moment and sends her off, "alright, one more load. I think I'll have enough then."
Trinity Stratos

"If you're a girl, then you should understand why we're upset!" She sighs softly, chiding herself inwardly. She shouldn't lash out like that. "Sorry. You must miss your body."

So, Karn actually as a woman, instead of just looking and acting like one? Only, this personality was strange. Well... that made a certain kind of sense, she supposed. It was the Edo-Karn's soul that was in Karn's body right now. Hey, now that she thought about it, she had a little experience with soul binding, didn't she? Well, Fleo did. Since Jarvis was nowhere to be- wait a minute. Duh. She'd have to try the communication lacrima.

Later. She looks Karn over thoughtfully, silent for just a moment before she speaks. "I suppose you want to go home?"
Private Durandal

The young woman had been taking the opportunity to collect herself. Memories beyond a certain point became a jumble, and then a haze. She could try to remember, but nothing made sense unless she took the time to put them in order. It was a tiring exercise, a strange kind of fatigue that leaves you drained, but not physically tried. She wanted to move through her stances and forms, but there was no space. They were moving somewhere, though she wasn't sure where. She wished she had a map to study. How far was she from home?

No, she shouldn't get distracted. She'd probably remember if she put it all together. Or... if she read through more of this journal?

---------------------

Somehow, the more she read of the journal, she more she was filled with a profound sadness. She had a sense that she knew how the story ended. Really, the dogtags that came with the journal were story enough. She couldn't read much of the journal at once, but the man had become aware of a new addition to his squad, a lancer for their next mission. It was at this point in her reading that the APC stopped. She closed the book and tucked it away swiftly, looking up at the Sergeant. A tank...? She reached for her mortar, prepared to make a sprint.
Just so we're all on the same page of what our hardware is, the APC is an armored, covered vehicle, yes?
Trinity Stratos

Oh, well. That certainly worked. And... hey, it was raining. She didn't really mind rain, herself, so she didn't really let it bother her before, but now that she gave it a moment's thought, something was strange here, wasn't it. And it seemed like Karn had been getting ready to walk right out into that. Penny seemed to have caught on first, and began their confrontation.

And off they were to a FANTASTIC start. "Is this how you greet people!?" She turned to look at the guild member Karn had been talking to. "Did he do this to you, too?" When she turned back to Karn, his eyes were shifting about and he started rubbing his temples, before finally giving a rather strange outburst. It was concerning, but who knows what kinds of side effects there would be. Having two souls in one body.

Anyway. "Neko?" Trinity frowned, cradling her jaw in her hand as she thought for a moment. "The only person I know like that... they didn't mention any names?" She gave him a moment to remember, glancing worriedly at Penny and Sasha.
