Bio

It's me, that dood, Citrus Arms. I'm 33, I sometimes work on a book a little bit, and I play a lot of games. I like me some MechWarrior or the X-Frontier series, but I also adore some good magic-fantasy. I grew up with Final Fantasy VI's magitech world, and worlds like Chrono Trigger, Zelda, and Star Fox. Lots of Nintendo, but some other stuff, too.

I like sci-fi and fantasy and space and combinations thereof, mostly. I have a setting take takes place after a galactic apocalypse, in a galaxy of recovering empires and new interstellar nations rising from the ashes, all while machinations from the apocalypse cause a rise in magic.

"There we go. Easy peasy over to the island like that, isn't it?" Trinity ankles softly, approaching and patting Karn's side. She pet him a little bit as he mentioned Mithera. She was with them back at the guild, she remembered Mithera came and spoke to Karn just before they left.

"Well, if she's here, I assume she wanted to come with. Do you know where she went? We can at least ask her what she wants to do, right?

Someone was missing, right? Where'd that cat man get to... Ah. There he is, snuggling up on some poor man. Heh, sure.

"We're gonna have to go in boats?" They'd come to the deck just in find to catch important news. And Karn wasn't pleased, it was no surprise. She put her arms around him as he clung to her. "Oh, there there, sweety. It's alright. I've got you..."

He really was like a little kid... It was worrying sometimes. But, well... She just had to look out for him, then, right?

"You can fly us, can't you? I'll catch you if you fall. It's just a quick little skip over there, isn't it? I'll catch you. We've come this far, you shouldn't turn back now. Chin up, steel yourself. Can you do that for me?" Right now, watching out for Karn involved helping him with a certain soul problem. Her best lead was vague, sure, but it was better than nothing. If nothing else, maybe they'd get another lead. She could only hope.

But in the mean time, they had the last leg of a sea journey to make. Just a little farther, buddy.

"We don't sail the sea, where I come from. It's an old superstition, maybe, but... It's dead water. Cursed, some say. Others say there used to be a country there. No one wants anything to do with it. So, no boats. Cars, landships, airships. This whole 'boat' thing is weird, but not hard to understand. And now you tell me it has no engine. I suppose the concept is ancient..."

"To the deck, then." Trinity joined Prince, using a percussion and brass combo to conjure a certain theme as they made their way to the deck, leaving room for Prince's fiddle to fill in whatever melody he liked

She was getting her sea legs well enough, as they got to the deck. The occasional off toss threw her, but for the most part, it was a rather regular rocking that went well with music. If she thought of it as a metronome, it was easy. It was strange, suddenly being at the mercy of a constant rhythm that, seemingly, from here, ruled the world.

As she stepped through the door to the deck, she caught sight of a stumbling Karn. Thinking about it, she had to wonder how he was doing on this little piece of wood in a giant puddle of water. Though, she couldn't just ask, either, he'd hear it and freak out. She'd just have to assess, herself. She looked at Prince for a moment, not sure if she'd seen Karn get nauseated before.

"Are you doing alright, Karn? And Karn?" She came over and put one hand on Karn's shoulder, her body stilling as she offered support. Her free hand conducted her instruments, though the music dimmed. "Do you..." Don't lean Karn over the side of the ship, "want a bucket?"

"Ah, that's right. The guildmaster is also here..." She hadn't forgotten, so much that it just hadn't really sunk in. She still had moments where it was strange to be traveling so openly with people. It made her wonder about their plans... Huhu, grounding and, er, confiscating their airship must have been quite a setback.

Which returned her to the matter at hand. A working engine to study. Which apparently there were a shortage of on the ship. "No engine? Not even a backup? How..." She sighed crossed her arms, trying to put it politely, "... traditional. I suppose the shipwrights back home would love it, actually. They love traditional, cultural design. Though, they also like big engines..."

"Well, if there is no engine here, let us away. We could have been up on the deck, enriching the atmosphere this whole time. Unless you'd rather avoid the crowd? I did find you in a room alone with a bunch of crates quite by accident."
Well, that's what happens when you start a discord server for a forum. Though, I think it is a good idea, as a supplement.

"That sounds splendid. It'll be more fun than lounging around in your own, won't it?" Trinity let the flute up into the air and both the instruments continued to play. She got up, and as she moved, she held the beat. She danced, to conduct the music. It wasn't always a great movement, but she had to stay in the music, to continue the performance.

And so they traveled the ship. She checked all the likely places (rooms at the back of the ship, going lower through the decks), before they finally came to the belly of the ship, currently vacant due to favorable winds. Frustrated, she stopped dancing, "and still no engine room! Where could they have-" she was interrupted as the ship tossed suddenly, throwing her balance. She tripped and landed, seated, on a bench.

"The hell was that? I know we're a rowdy bunch, but that's a little silly." As she got up, she eyed the oars on the wall. "Do you think we should check on them?" She was taking another look at the room, considering something. She pushed herself to her feet and started to walk the room a little, tapping her chin thoughtfully. Her instruments played slowly. This ship was a little smaller than The Gryphon, that airship she... Admittedly stole. From a dark guild, so who cares.

Meanwhile, in the mountains near Magnolia...

Ryan Kregor toiled away in the engine room of the airship with his subordinate. Lezuro was a good mechanic, and a decent engineer. You needed that, with airships. Especially when your guild is countries away, and you've no other way back because certain people had to have their guild marks in obvious places.

Speaking of. Ryan excused himself and crossed the room to the voice pipes. "Hey, Lane. You want some tea or something?" He waited, and got nothing. He signed softly, breathed, and spoke again, "look, I know you don't like guard duty, but we need these repairs done as quickly as possible, and Steph's scouting."

"Oh, I'm back. Ms. Lane said that whatever it was could wait until she got back. I tried to reason with her, but she wouldn't hear it. Something about shopping."

"What." Ryan rubbed his face and sighed.

"I said-"

"No, I heard you. I'll be right up to hear your report."

Lezuro just shook his head as he looked on before going back to work, talking softly to the machine.
I would like to appear as CitrusArms from now on, please.

"Must be trouble if you're in a pinch by yourself, though. Stick close to your friends, I suppose." Trinity hopped up to sit on a box, herself, strumming idly on her harp. She sighed softly at Prince's consolation, her head tilting this way and that. "I guess it makes me feel a little better, but... At least I was able to help you out. I'm glad you're feeling better."

"Would you want to look around the ship? I was trying to find the engine room, but I haven't had any luck so far. Have you looked around at all?" As she sat, she conjured another instrument, a flute to accompany the harp.
"Yes, here I am." She whipped up a harp, plucking out a quick little prelude. "I'm sure your support magic will be a great boon. Support magic is not a common thing, but it is valuable, isn't it? Empowering your allies is a good strategy. And since when do these things ever go smoothly?""

"It seems were both here for someone else. I've come along with Karn and... Karn. Seeking ancient secrets or some other solution to their unique problem. Two souls, bound now in one body." She sighed, her shoulders sagging just a little. "I feel like I haven't been much help at all, really. Though, I did help you just a little, now didn't I? How are you feeling, much better? I trust you've recovered fully, if you're going on this potentially dangerous mission?" She remembered him looking pretty bad when she found him.
