Bio

Welcome, Welcome! I hope you're having a good day, and welcome to my Bio!

Allow me to introduce myself. My name's Cotton! Why is my name Cotton? Because it is!

I have a few years' worth of experience with Roleplaying, primarily as a GM but also as a player, in both groups and in one-on-one RPs. My interests include Magic, Fantasy (Medieval/Steampunk), and more!

Feel free to ask me stuff or talk to me!

Either way, have a good day, dear reader!

@Cotton This may be silly to ask though regarding how posts are handled, do we all post in one rotation (as in everyone get a turn and then they can go again once everyone has posted) or is it that everyone can post at anytime (especially in discussions between two OCs while other are doing there thing). Mainly curious since I've participated in other RPs that went with one structure or the other.

I prefer the latter method, everyone can post at anytime. Ensures people don't have to wait when they're talking among eachother. As GM, I'll be posting when I have time and enough people have posted for me to have something to respond to. I'll try getting a post out today since there are a few posts by now.

Helena... was not entirely sure how to react to what she was seeing. The topic had jumped from ice to the birds, which her roommates labelled as food. While Helena didn't mind eating birds, her parents had taught the young ice mage how to eat food 'properly'. Plucked, cooked, and with a knife and fork.

Which... was quite different to what her roommates were doing. Daria simply killed one with a very good throw, though whether or not she was going to pluck and cook it Helena couldn't tell for sure. The sight did make her a bit squeamish, but before she could comment on it, Yon spoke up. For a moment, it seemed as though Yon shared Helena's opinion that Daria shouldn't have straight-up killed the bird like tha-

Nope. Yon apparently had some freaky frog-like tongue and just straight up swallowed a bird alive. Then another. And another. Three birds, a mouth stuffed full like a hamster. Then she simply swallowed without chewing.

Either the ice mage was having a really freaky dream or a really freaky roommate.

Whichever it was, Helena had to look away for a moment to not throw up.

"I... I'll pass, thank you two very much." The ice mage muttered, taking a breath. "I'll have something else, maybe."

Alura

@Ponn

Alura froze as Kate mentioned that her voice reminded her of someone, and the photographer immediately got the mage's full attention once more. Something about that bit of information had sparked the strange mage's interest, and Alura seemed to want to know more. "Home...? It makes you think of someone?" Alura asked, tilting her head.

"Who is this Nykannis you speak of? I'm curious now... Please, do tell me more."
I do hope so, I've been waiting for more replies before continuing, and I know of at least one person who's still going to post so I'll reply once they've gotten their post in, but I do hope more people will post.

Helena looked on in disbelief as Yon ate some of the ice. The ice mage wasn't sure what surprised her more, the girl's lack of understanding regarding ice, or her willingness to just eat it. Daria seemed to be unable to keep a straight face, and almost fell out of the tree laughing. She soon recovered though, and went on to explain she didn't know what magic she had.

"That's a reasonable reason to go to school here, I'd say." The ice mage commented with a smile, glancing at Yon. "And Yon, do you really not know what ice is?"

"Oh, and what do you two think of our room?"

Alura

@Ponn

A faint smile made it's way onto Alura's face as Kate told her her voice thing sounded cool. The mage wasn't used to compliments like that, and wasn't really sure how to respond for a few moments as she sat back down on the couch.

"Thank you, I never thought of it as cool." Alura stated, smiling as she stretched out a bit, her spellbook lying on her lap. "Did you... Make a donation too to get this room?"

Helena couldn't help but softly chuckle as Yon said she'd try not to bite Helena's tail. The girl seemed to be a bit... unusual in terms of her personality, but Helena didn't mind; she definitely seemed nice! Then, the girl mentioned she had animation magic. The ice mage was about to ask for clarification when one of tree's branches took hold of her!

"H...hey!" Helena yelped, trying to figure out what was happening as she was put in the tree as well. Sighing and making sure she wasn't at risk of falling out of the tree, Helena began to grin. "You startled me... but to answer your question, I do Ice magic!" The ice mage announced, grabbing one of the branches above her. Slowly, icicles began to grow from the branch, which then took on the shape of flowers. Flowers of ice, hanging from the branch above her. "I can make shapes, statues, and projectiles of ice."

"I'm also immune to the cold, so if you find me encased in ice that's probably because I enjoy the quiet it provides." The ice mage explained, smiling softly. "So don't try to break me out, there's no need."

"Voice thing...?" Alura asked, rather confused. "But that's not me, that's..." Alura suddenly fell silent, staring at the book in her hands for almost a minute. Then, by the time Kate calls dibs on one of the rooms, she suddenly seems to snap out of whatever was going on.

"Oh, that. That's just a quirk. Don't worry about it." Alura said quietly, giving Kate a faint smile as she clutched the book close to herself. "I don't mind much what room I get... I'll just take whichever one's left."

Helena looked towards the window as she heard someone climbing it, then raised an eyebrow as a pink-haired catgirl entered the room in much the same way Yon had. Giving a soft smile, Helena waved in greeting. "Ah, you must be Daria. Didn't get the opportunity to properly introduce myself earlier, but I'm Helena." She said, watching as Daria climbed into a tree. "And at this rate we don't even need the staircase, I'm the only one who seems to use it." The ice mage added, chuckling softly as she watched Daria carve a piece of wood for a moment, before returning her attention to Yon.

Alura nodded as Jackie went off to explore the bathroom. She seems nice enough, doesn't she? I wonder what the other roommates will be like Alura thought to herself, as she moved to sit back down on the couch, only for the door to be opened by another roommate! Speak of the Roommate and she doth appear!

"Helllllo! My name's Alura!" Alura said, seemingly brimming with energy once more. "Our other roomie is currently checking out the bathroom. She's cool, you should say hi! The mage added, smiling as she looked the second roommate over for a moment, taking note of the camera.

"Also, now that we are all here, we should decide who gets what room at some point soon. But you should probably look around first to see which you like!"
First post has been made, feel free to have your character show up either at the Silver Piglet, or elsewhere in town!
Malston

Republic of Laith, Samare
Western border of the Explored World

Spring, Archor 22 - Igni
Early afternoon, clear weather

Within the Republic of Laith, one of Samare's northernmost nations on the Western border, lies the town of Malston, a popular stop for adventurers and explorers as it's the westernmost town within Laith to have an establishment belonging to the League of Explorers. It's a small town, built on a hill overlooking the grasslands of Laith, and is within a days' travel from the unexplored western lands.

Outside of the town, past the farmlands, is grassland with an occasional patch of woods. A small stream runs through the land here, marging into a river somewhere in the unexplored lands. Within one of these patches of forest, to the north, is the ruins of an old temple of some kind. It has already been thoroughly explored, but it's a popular hangout for local kids, though rumour has it that there's a hidden basement that is used as a lair by bandits.

Within Malston, there are few buildings of note. There is an independent inn/tavern, known as the Silver Piglet, a market square, and of course an Explorer's Guild courtesy of the League of Explorers. Beyond that, most other buildings are either townhouses, shops, or farmhouses.

The local Explorer's Guild is of unique design. While most are standard two-storey buildings, with a tavern and stalls to do business on the ground floor and inn rooms on the top floor, this structure has a watch tower League members can use for free. On a clear day, one can see the forest that mark the beginning of the unexplored wildlands off in the distance from atop this tower. Furthermore, it only has one floor, and has traded in the tavern area for just a few rooms, as the building was built with the help of the owner of the Silver Piglet, in exchange for the Explorers' Guild not getting a tavern as to not steal away customers.

The Silver Piglet, meanwhile, is a two-storey building, with the ground floor dedicated to being a tavern/restaurant, while the top floor (and part of the ground floor) housing rooms for guests. Many of it's guests are League members as the Explorer's Guild usually has rented out all it's rooms, though it often is home to independent explorers as well. It is the best place in town to get some food or a drink, as well as getting some rest. Because of it's popularity, it's also common for people to put requests on the noticeboard inside if they are looking for people to do things for them for payment, and often recruiters recruit people for expeditions here.

It is within this town that our story begins. It is this town that everyone's travels have brought them to, one way or another. The day is nice, it's the middle of spring, and the weather is pleasant. There's a gentle breeze, and the sky is clear, no sign of rain. Locals are minding their own business, and the Silver Piglet is quiet during this time of day, with just a handful of people there.
