Although Malstom's Guild Hall's design is unusual compared to other Guild Halls across the continent, it's interior would be familiar to anyone who has visited a Guild Hall before. Stone walls, with wooden supports. A spacious interior, with plenty of empty stalls merchants could make use of, though none can be found at this time. In fact, there are very few people around. A blonde-haired half-fox is chatting with the sole merchant, a brown-haired human who seems to be selling fruit. The two appear to be arguing, with the half-fox saying that she believes that the merchant is charging too much for some apples, while the merchant says that his prices are always fair. The woman seems to be wearing padded clothes, judging by their bulkiness; an off-white tunic with beige pants. The merchant, meanwhile, seems to be wearing expensive, well-made clothes. His clothes multi-coloured, a pale blue undershirt with a purple-and-white jacket on top, and dark red pants.

Near the wall opposite of the entrance, near a few crates, sits a bald man with greyish skin and dull green eyes. He's wearing brown trousers and a green jacket that have both seen better days. At his feet lies a padlocked bag, and standing against one of the crates behind him is a rather ornate-looking spear, that seems to have been made with at least as much of a focus on looking pretty as being on being pretty deadly. Although from a distance it's unclear what exactly he's saying, he seems to be engaged in conversation with someone else. Sitting beside him on a crate is a short feminine figure, sitting just high enough to be head-height with the man. She's got tan skin and quite messy white hair, and is wearing a long-sleeved light grey dress that covers most of her legs. Beside her on the crate lies a rectangular bag, with a large book on top of it, with papers sticking out of it.

Of the latter duo, it is quite clear that the man is Grimar, and as the group approaches them, their conversation becomes audible.

"...and that's why I can't turn into a Chonchon, they're not wizards! They're just servants, and I'm not a wizard's servant." The girl says, letting out an exasperated groan. "And even if I could turn into one, why would I? They're ugly! I don't want my ears to be as big as my head is!" She then adds, causing the man to laugh, shaking his head. It is then that he notices the group approaching, a smile appearing on his face.

"Well, it looks like we've got company. Quite a mixed group, too. Did the knight in the tavern send you guys?" The man asks, crossing his arms as he seems to inspect the group. The girl, meanwhile, seems to be rather curious too, but keeps quiet, instead taking her book and beginning to write something.
Side note, I'll be making a post either tomorrow or this weekend. Been waiting for all of you to post first, but I also don't want to keep you guys waiting for too long!

Helena raised an eyebrow as Daria said that she couldn't read. Part of the ice mage didn't believe her, given her previous stunt, but at the same time... why would she lie about that? And so, Helena believed her, but the catgirl's confession did leave one lingering question...

"So... if you can't read... what do you intend to do? Hoping to learn magic without having to read? Or are you looking for someone to teach you how to read?" the ice mage asked. It was at that time that Yon returned... completely soaked and talking about acid. Did she use acid in the bath? Judging by the damage the droplets of liquid were doing to the plants, she was.

"I... think I'll pass on the bath for now. I'm... allergic to acid, you know? It's painful for me to come in contact with it." She responded, chuckling nervously. "As for classes... I think I'll go to Spellmaking. I'm interested in seeing what kind of things they teach in spellmaking."

As her roommates continued to chat with eachother, Alura seemed to have different things in mind, her eyes glancing up at the ceiling for a moment, then down at the floor. Then, she took her book, and opened in, remaining silent as she crouched down, and began to scribble something on the floor in a circle around her using a piece of chalk. Every symbol she drew briefly glowing before vanishing when the mage moves onto the next symbol. Once she's made a full circle - the entire process taking a few minutes - she stands up, a cheerful smile on her face.

"Well, I'd love to chat some more now, but classes will be starting soon." Alura said, closing her book. "And I'd rather not be late!"

Almost as soon as Alura finishes talking, there's a sound not unlike that of a mirror shattering, and the floor underneath the mage crumbled away into a black void, the symbols she drew briefly reappearing around the edge. Moments later, Alura seems to get sucked into the hole, and vanishes without a trace, the hole and symbols vanishing almost instantaneously, leaving behind no trace of the mage other than a partial circle of burnt floor.

Alteration Class - Alura

Opening the door to the classroom, Alura saw that she wasn't the first person to arrive at the class. "This... is alteration, right?" Alura asked, a small smile on her face as she glanced over her classmates.

The armoured figure tilted it head slightly as Jack excused himself, but gave a small polite nod as he left the table, showing little reaction to the loud cursing that occured moments later, though when he returned to accept to the offer the knight sat upright just a bit more, seeming happy with having at least one person on board so far. Then, Victoria and the other Half-Beast agreed to join as well, and the figure nodded once more.

"It is good to hear that you are willing to partake in this, and I shall adress your questions and concerns in order, to the best of my ability. Starting with you, Historian. If... experiences from the previous groups are to be believed and assumed to be accurate for the relics in question now, then the relics my mistress seeks are not necessarily buried, but more... forgotten artifacts. Relics that could tell the story of what happened to this world long ago." The knight stated, before turning to Victoria.

"That, in part, should also answer your question. I unfortunately do not know the details of the specific artifacts, perhaps the servant tasked with accompanying you will be better capable of answering any such questions. I have, however, been told that these artifacts could be considered more valuable to a... historian than a merchant." It added, briefly turning to Jack, before shifting his attention to the other half-beast, who asked him about his mistress.

"And yes, it was milady who accompanied me to this establishment. Or, to be more accurate, I accompanied her. She is an anubite, of noble descent, though her family was been cast by the wayside long ago, hence why she is a scholar travelling the world instead of sitting in a palace in the desert."

The knight took a moment to look the trio up and down, before nodding. "Unless you have further questions for me I ask that you proceed to the local Guild Hall, and seek out a man named Grimar. He will be able to tell you more about the choices you have for which map you wish to follow. Milady's servant should also be waiting there, though I do not know what they are like. Grimar, however, is about my height, only unarmoured, and not a hair on his head."

Helena raised an eyebrow at Yon's talk about stabbing yourself with needles to get better. To the ice mage, that sounded like a rather... painful solution to health issues, but Helena wasn't one to judge. Still, she was prevented from asking about it when the girl declared that she'd prepare the tub and get some water, likely to clean up the blood.

It was then that Daria told Helena to sit down, with a rather... curious look on her face. Worried that she had done something wrong, Helena does not comment on it, and instead does as instructed, and sits down, only for Daria to apologize, which was about the last thing the ice mage expected. Daria was apparently just joking or something similiar, as she had apparently made that much up.

After a moment, Helena couldn't help but begin to giggle. She'd truly, genuinely believed the pink-haired catgirl, and in retrospect she couldn't help but be amused at her own gullibility. "Daria, you were really convincing." Helena said with a smile, taking the rag to clean herself with. "Don't worry, I'm not angry over it or anything. And I think Ray at the very least deserves a kick in the ass."

As Kate and Jackie began to talk about the former's camera, Alura took it upon herself to chat with the newest of the roommates. As the girl - Katalynn - mentioned she could sleep on the couch, Alura began to shake her head. There was no need for that after all, one of the rooms was big enough for two.

"Don't be silly! One of the rooms can house two, so it's only a question of who share it. Kate said she wanted one of the single rooms, so it'll either be you and me, you and Jackie, or Jackie and me!" Alura explained with a smile.

"But they're busy taking pictures right now, so we should wait with asking her opinion about it... so tell me a bit about yourself!"

The knight looked on in silence as the trio approached the table he was seated at, making no effort to greet them in the process. It stared quietly at Jack as he asked for details, then turned it's gaze towards Victoria, and finally settling on the snow spirit for a few moments. It then returned it's gaze to Jack, and began to speak in a monotone voice, slightly muffled by his helmet.

"I do not know why my mistress chose to word her request in the way she has, but I was told that I was to answer most questions to the best of my ability, so that is what I will do." It stated.

"My lady has reason, and evidence, to believe that she is in possession of several artifacts that function like maps leading to ancient relics of great value. She herself does not, however, possess the luxury of having the time to pursue them. That is why she seeks to hire people to track said relics down for her. She has in the past hired three other groups to do this job. Two came back with valuable treasure, though both had suffered losses in the process."

The armoured figure fell silent for a moment, likely with the intention of giving the trio around him the time to think about what was just said. Then, it speaks again, interrupting anyone who tried to ask anything. "You would be the fourth expedition, and you would be permitted to choose which of three artifacts you would like to follow. I have been told that one leads North, while two lead West, to the Northwest and Southwest to be exact. The majority of bounty found along the way will be yours to divide among yourselves, but a servant of the mistress will be accompanying you to lay claim to the relics my lady seeks. Any findings they state the lady does not have interest in will be yours."

"If you have any further questions, ask them now, so that I may answer them."

It was a good thing Helena believed in miracles, otherwise she'd struggle to explain why her stomach's contents were still where they belonged, inside her stomach.

It seemed both of her roommates had a bit of a... misunderstanding regarding what made the Ice Mage feel unwell. While Yon's comments about keeping some birds for her she could brush off, Daria's reaction was a bit... unconventional.

The catgirl began talking about some kind of flamingo. A spirit or a deity perhaps? Either way, the girl seemed to have some kind of... ritual in mind, as she pulled the knife out of the dead bird, blood leaking down her arm and even spraying into her hair. Then, she began to draw a circle. With bird-blood. With the bird's corpse in the middle.

Whatever appetite the mage had left had long thrown itself out of the tower, whether or not it survived to ever return would depend on the rest of this school year.

Then, Daria began to chant. Helena didn't keep too close a track of exactly what it was, more focused on not throwing up and being polite than anything. The catgirl ended the ceremony with something about excrement, before pushing Helena into the circle of blood.

The ice mage closed her eyes, worried something might happen.

When nothing did, she carefully opened them, and glanced at Daria for a moment, and then at the bird corpse. Taking a deep breath, she reached down, picked it up, and held it up. She had no idea what she was doing, but she'd read various books about cults in the past - quite some of them fiction, she'd had to admit - and holding up the... sacrifice seemed like it would fit right in.

Helena could only hope nothing would cause her to add her own stomach's contents to the mix as she still fought to keep herself from vomiting.

Alura stared quietly at the photographer and her camera, saying nothing for a moment. There was definitely curiosity in the girl's eyes... but there was also something off about them. Her right eye's pupil and iris seemed like they were about to split, as part of the girl's skin began to get a bit of a darker tint...

Only for a new roomie to arrive! Immediately, Alura spun around to face her, a big smile on her face. "Oh! Hello! I didn't expect us to get a fourth roommate! This means two of us will have to share the big room!" The girl said excitedly, extending a hand. "My name's Alura, what's yours?"

At the same time, the drawings on Alura's book began to glow faintly, while the temperature in the room dropped slightly. Just enough to be noticable if you'd been in the room for more than a few moments. At about the same time, there was a faint whisper in Kate's ear, audible only to the photographer. "You are quite a curious person, Miss Kate. I hope we get to talk again soon.
Sorry for the delay, had some difficulties.

Regarding the question of a Discord, I do not mind either way. If people think it'd be a good addition, I will create one. If not, I believe we can live without it.

As people sat around the tavern, minding their own business, the day proceeded like normal. The tavern's waitress walked from table to table, serving the tavern's few patrons as they took the time to take a break.

It was at that point that a woman entered the tavern. An Anubite, about 5'9 tall, dressed what appeared to be a mix of a fancy green dress with a darker green cloak, though the cloak's hood appeared to have been torn off, likely because it would not fit an Anubite's ears. The woman's ears were short - for an Anubite, that is - and she had silver eyes, partially concealed under her pitch-black hair. She carried an annoyed look on her face as she stepped into the build, glancing around at the building's patrons without saying a word, before gesturing to someone outside.

Entering the building after her was what appeared to be a man in full plate armour; an unusual choice for something to wear on a day-to-day basis, but something about the figure seemed... off. The armour seemed flexible unlike regular plate armour, but the figure's movements were... rigid. Stiff and a bit slow, but not from the weight of the armour nor because of the large backpack they carried on their back. The woman looked at the armour-wearing figure for a moment, then gestured towards the noticeboard. The figure simply nodded, and made their way over to the board, pulling out what appeared to be a sheet of paper. They held the paper against the noticeboard, then took a pin, and hammered it through the paper and into the noticeboard with their armoured fist.

Once the paper was stuck to the noticeboard - covering some other requests in the progress - the armoured figure took a seat in the corner near the noticeboard, seemingly waiting. The anubite he had accompanied, meanwhile, had already vacated the building, nowhere to be seen.
