For the heck of it, here's Shortclaw's CS
Name: Shortclaw
Age:Fully matured
Gender: Male
Race: Griffin
Appearance:
Shortclaw, fully armored
Personality:
Like all griffins, Shortclaw is a proud creature- it's only natural for the apex beast to know its rightful place at the top. Having been cared for from his hatching day by his kind's human servants, he is well-acclimated to the company of the small, omnivorous creatures, and has gained a certain level of respect for their tenacity, cleverness and perceptiveness that defies their feeble forms and weak eyes. In particular, his dear pet, Roger, is a veritable watering hole of inspiring ideas that are almost always worth heeding or at least humoring.
His pet's flock is an odd group. Aside from his pet, only one that Shortclaw trusts is Velvetica, Roger's higher-up in their pecking order. They're quite an interesting group, though, with so many human variants that Shortclaw had never seen before. A human with wolf ears, a human with a snake body, a small human, and even a human with sharp ears.
Shortclaw's participation in his pet's flock is for the purpose of establishing his superiority and might for all- rivals, natural enemies- and potential mates- to behold. He gets to hone his killing skills, validate his greatness over lesser beings, and it's fun.
Brief Backstory:
Shortclaw was hatched to a pair of griffins whose nesting location had provided them with a curious band of human servants who waited on them claw and paw. They also taught him how to avoid kicking human nests and stirring up swarms of little angry bipeds. His parents taught him to fly, to hunt, and to properly act. The human servants taught him many clever tricks for fighting, carrying a helper on his back, tool use to avoid marring or damaging his perfect form, and felling certain prey.
When he was fledgling, he was given a particular human as a pet- Roger Falkner. Feeble and lacking in mobility, Shortclaw learned to care for and protect the human, who in turn would tend to him, grooming him, preening him, and caring for his injuries. He became accustomed to letting his pet ride on his back, a trick that proved fruitful as Roger learned to help slay their prey, repel his enemies, and provide an extra pair of eyes to help spot danger and opportunity, and can always tell who is friend and who is foe. More than anything else, though, Roger seemed to always know where to go for food, shelter, and a chance to show his greatness to all. Currently, Shortclaw travels with Roger's flock, where he has plenty of opportunity to flex his greatness for all to see.
Equipment:
Roger
A male human, raised alongside Shortclaw since it was old enough to leave its nest. Roger is Shortclaw's pet, a valued possession and useful ally. It is a humble creature with a good understanding of its place, although many of its requests are a bit odd. As far as humans go, it is in excellent physical condition and quite capable of inflicting lethal injuries with its pointy stick. After Shortclaw tagged along with Roger's flock, he begun to indulge and play along by letting Roger's superior in the pecking order to touch it and climb onto its back, although he wouldn't want her to ride without his pet being present.
Armor and Barding
Shortclaw was taught to wear a remarkably light shell, almost like a small prey animal's carapace. It protects him from blows that could maim or mar him, without adding enough weight to hinder his flying. His pet has his own little carapace, protecting his frail body and unclawed feet.
Natural Weapons
As a griffin, Shortclaw possesses sharp claws on both his upper and lower limbs, and a very powerful beak capable of biting through even strong carapaces. His pet maintains these weapons, keeping them as sharp as can be.
Nature's Perfection
As every griffin knows, it is the epitome of perfect form, from the tireless lungs and sharp eyes of its avian half, to the flexible spine and powerful legs of its leonine half. Shortclaw is a skilled flier, capable of navigating almost any winds, and like birds of prey, can even take advantage of the winds to fly more efficiently. On the ground he is a fast runner and powerful jumper, and can be a capable climber if the need ever presents itself.
Skills:
Flier
Every griffin is a natural at flying, and possesses an instinctual understanding of how to use the wind to bolster their flight, and Shortclaw's human servants have helped him to learn even more techniques.
Apex Predator
Griffins are born to stand at the top of the food chain, and possess the instincts to circumvent the defenses of their prey through many means. His parents and human attendants have further taught him to take down prey even more efficiently.
