Marius then put the car in drive once he saw that Kiri and the new Cursed Child with them were secured in the car seats.

He didn't say a word for the moment. Sure, he was comfortable around Kiri now but this new face sort of made him act professional. Besides, they were in the middle of a possible job right now so until the danger is passed, he would try to keep it by the books till things settled down.

As he drove, thoughts did cross his mind. Why did Kiri's dad want him to possibly work full time now IF that's what he wished? Sure, Marius was good with not just combat but recon and information gathering but it's also because of that that a certain green-haired terrorist most likely had it out for him now. He was a double-edged sword in a matter of speaking. But did the pro's outweigh the con's? It did mean that he'd had to be ready to lay down his life at a moment's notice for Kiri, sure, but with any job these days, Mr. Reaper hanging over your shoulder wasn't anything new. But this sounded like he was one of those secret service agents that did the same thing with their US president back in those days. Made sense for an overprotective father. At the same time though, he IS on good terms with him AND Kiri so perhaps it was also a trust issue. I mean, would you hire a total stranger, even with lots of money, to protect your family member from anything and everything?

With Gastrea possibly roaming about and even people like Hazama who oppose today's "status quo", chances are people would take that money then run when trouble hit. But that was why Civil Security groups and the IISO were established but even they weren't perfect. Even his own group had turned on him without even so much as a investigation simply because of someone else's say so. Just because he didn't obey that one order......

He just shrug off the thought as he continued driving. His mind wondered on the other new members of Kiri's company. One things for sure. He was going to have to learn to work with these people sooner than later. Marius just hoped that he'd warm up to them but considering his run of luck with working with security groups in general, he should just brace himself for the worst just in case...
Marius just nodded seriously then responded, "Yeah. I don't mind the cursed children. I just don't know about my hunch on what you said...if your dad's planning to hire me full time here. Still, well talk about that later as you said. Now, we have a possible Gastrea situation to resolve. So...whenever your ready to go ma'am."

He then reved the engine of the car once to reinforce the point that they should head out.
Marius nodded to Kiri and quickly rushed to the black car, keys in hand as he opened the drivers side door.

He also wondered the IISO's deal with just dropping off a cursed child like that right in front of Miss Kiri. Sure, from what he gathered, the IISO did sometimes pull some weird decisions and such but this...

All the same, he kept his mind on the job and started the car up. Seeing that the gas tank was full and nothing else seemed wrong with the car, he then pulled out in reverse slowly then made the turn towards Miss Kiri to save trouble from doing a U-turn when they had to leave.

As he pulled up alongside Kiri, Marius lowered the window and said, "What's the word Ma'am? She also coming with us? And what did I miss with those IISO members there exactly?"
Marius stood quiet for the longest time while Kiri took her calls. He decided to go with the black vechile. Though considering the choice of cars, any of them would have stood out. Though the black one was more common to him than the others for the business types..

Checking around and inside, he was lucky to find the keys in the glove compartment. He then checked his equipment over.

"...were ready", Marius called to Kiri as he stood at attention like some of the other guards. Full time or merc, he respected the protocol around here when it came down to business.

He then noted the "witch" comment from someone then he saw the IISO members who were just leaving and a little girl who appeared to be a cursed child at Kiri's feet curled up and all with a furry-looking tail.

Walking away from the car and back to Miss Kiri, his hand on the hilt of his Varaium Katana, he then asks, "...any trouble here?"
Marius instantly got up from the chair in Kiri's room when she addressed him. Quickly picking up and slingling his gun, Last Gamble, back on his back, he then followed Miss Kiri out of the office.

From the sounds of it, there was a possible situation involving a Gastrea. Judging from her statements, it sounded like a crime scene right now so his experience maybe needed.

While he walked with her to the elevator, he drew the top card from his deck and showed it to Kiri.

Ace of Clubs.

"...you know...your intuition scares me sometimes Kiri", Marius says with a smile.
"Of course Kiri. Same as usual though. Your vice knows when you have to leave to attend to other matters. Might not have to even tell him", Marius responds to Kiri's request.

Much like Kiri, Marius leans back and also stares at the ceiling. Perhaps thinking about business as well as other important matters.

Then Marius decided to tell her about his presence here today.

"Miss Kiri...if you must know, I wasn't called her on just bodyguard duties. Your father called me in to do as you just said and more. He wants me to to go along with your new recruits and assist with this 'possible' Gastrea situation. It was quite a surprise for me too when you consider his overprotective nature."

Taking a deep breath, he then fished around his pants pocket and brought out a familiar deck of normal playing cards. He then began to shuffle them as he continued to speak while still looking at the ceiling.

"...more important, I've also hit my own set of problems. For one, financial problems. Mercenary work doesn't really cut it much these days with everyone relying on Civil Security groups, the IISO and such. Doesn't help either that my old Civil Security group have been harassing me to return to work with them. But eh...they blew it when I saw how quick to hatred they wanted to release on someone. And treason charges would do that nicely. Despite their apologies, I rather take my chances on the streets. Even more so with...'him' still lurking out there...somewhere..."

Marius then stopped shuffling the deck then drew the top card. Looking down at the card he drew, he saw a queen of hearts.

He then turned the card around to show it to Kiri then said, "Next card. High or low? Guess correctly and I'll also let you in on something I have a hunch on..."
Marius then decided to settle down since it seemed Kiri had made up her mind to trust Mr. Hitoshi.

"As you say Miss Kiri. Just make sure about him all the same."

Marius then took a seat finally in one of the fancy chairs set in front of Kiri's desk in this room it seemed. Unslinging "Last Gamble" from his back and placing it next to his chair, he then watches the girl, Yuki he believed her name was called, say she was stepping out.

When Yuki had left, Marius asks, "Miss Kiri. Is this the Promoter and Initiator duo you told me about the last time I was working a job here? You seemed to be well aquainted with them."
Marius listened to the Initiator's story on the man and from the sound of it, this Masanori Hitoshi was indeed an IISO member but what bothered him was his history with his own Initiator. He even spied the Initiator in the room take out what looked liked cat ears and some glue of sorts and perhaps saw that they were indeed friends.

"...Mr. Hitoshi...let me ask you this. I would question your mental stability after such a horrible loss but if you plan to go solo, do you at least have custom weaponry or any weapon tailored-made to fight Gastra creatures? Because if you just tried to come in here with no credentals and just the clothes on your back, I suggest you look for work elsewhere and try to put your life back together before going back to IISO work", Marius asks.

Marius still had his hand on the hilt of his Varanium Katana but didn't draw it from his sheath. He did feel sorry for Hitoshi but it seemed that, to Marius anyway, that he was just a desperate man looking for a way back into the IISO job.
Marius didn't take his seat though despite Kiri's request to do so. While he noted the Promoter Initiator pair, with the Promoter holding that Desert Eagle still, he then took note of the man on the office table in front of Kiri.

Then he heard the request he made.

"...suspicious...a Promoter who refuses to work with an Initiator? Tell me, who are you again, what IISO division do you work for and why did it seem like you tried to FORCE your way in here? People don't wind up on office desks around this place unless they caused some sort of trouble."

Marius then put one hand on his Varanium Katana but didn't draw it just yet.
As Marius walked in, he then saw...no one.

"...nother room then", Marius thought as he backed out of the room.

"Oh Marius", a nearby guard said with a salute. "Sorry but it seems Miss Kiri is in the next room over there. She's getting to know the new recruits."

"So there's some new faces to this job...well ok then", Marius responds with a nod as he heads towards the nearby room.

What he walks into is what looks like a heated argument of sorts...with one man pointing a Desert Eagle pistol at another.

"...Hello Miss Kiri...I would ask what is happening here that there's a man with his weapon drawn in your office but...I'd just assumed 'business as usual'...", Marius says as he walks into the room.
