Magus Dagon

Continuing to look down from his position on the dais, Dagon eyed Ishara with that soul-cutting gaze of his. He blinked slowly, and something resembling weariness crept into his features. He nodded to his student solemnly, and said to her, "Your mother is very wise. Now, off with you. Make a new friend. Glean that from my experience."

He turned his back to his students, Magus' cloak swaying gently, and stepped off of the dais. He wasn't any less intimidating when he wasn't looming over them, as he was still quite tall and his posture was painfully straight. Even so, there was a certain hesitance in his movements, like he was bearing some kind of invisible burden as he walked. Despite this, he was not slowed down any, and strode over to where Magistrate Amon had been standing nearby, conversing with some other Sorcerers.

"Magistrate, if I may have a word?" He called to the elder Sorcerer, before stepping just out of earshot. Though, if anyone was particularly curious nearby it would not have been difficult to eavesdrop.

Magus Nevrakis

Berenice's greeting brought what looked like a petulant scowl to her mentor's face, an expression that spoke clearly of disappointment. The Magus did not let the question of her disapproval linger long in the air, as she replied, "You're not in the bloody military, girl. Don't salute me. You're a Sorcerer now, have some dignity." Just as it seemed she was going to bark some orders at her in turn, the final member of their circle arrived, and Nevrakis' expression lightened. "Ah, good, you're all gathered." She sounded relieved, like she had just finished accounting her taxes.

Nevrakis rose from her seat, dusting the crumbs of spilled food from her lap, and immediately set off at a brisk pace. She whipped around, cloak billowing with a flourish, and beckoned to her students. "Well? Come along! I wasn't joking when I said your training has started. Hop to it!" With that, she turned back and continued to weave through the festivities quickly enough that her students would have had to have made a concerted effort to keep up with her. She walked clear across most of the Dijat, until her destination was clear: she was heading directly toward one of the Cults' pyramids. The icon carved thirty feet high into gleaming silver on the inward-facing edifice of the pyramid made it clear whose it was, though it was perhaps not a great surprise. A coiling, winged serpent taking flight. They were entering the pyramid of the Cult of the Serpent.
@Scribe of Thoth@Gisk Still with us?
@Obscene Symphony Varies dramatically. If it comes up you'll get a description then.
I'm fine if we just skip over this arc altogether.
Magus Dagon

The Magus of the Cult of the Crow had been conversing softly with a nearby colleague a step from the dais, but their conversation died as they spotted Khaemtir approaching. Dagon watched coolly as the boy offered his fealty as a student, with even his Tutelary supplicating itself similarly. The older master's lips pursed as he watched the display, and the lines on his face seemed even more stark from this angle directly below him. Truly it seemed like there was no color about his entire face and head, except for his startlingly blue eyes. They were not as icy and pale as the sky, nor as wine-dark and deep as the sea or lapis lazuli, but they possessed the sharpness and clarity of cut sapphires. Truly a gaze that seemed to cut right through you.

"There's no need to attempt to appease me. Not now, anyway." He spoke, and while his tone was ambivalent there was a dry, papery quality to his voice that made it seem like he was suffering from going through this minor social interaction. "I assume by donning that cloak that you're prepared to make all necessary commitments and sacrifices. If not, well, that will be sorted out in short order." He rubbed his chin with one of his gloved hands, still appraising Khaemtir with his inimitable gaze, before making a dismissive gesture at him. "Go on, go enjoy the festivities. Meet some other Novitiates; they'll be more helpful to know in the future than some stuffy old Magi that are like as not to retire before you're done wearing that white cloak."

Dagon spotted his other two Novitiates waiting close by, staring at their interaction with obvious anticipation. "Well? The same goes for the two of you, unless you want something specific. Enjoy yourselves now, there will be plenty of work to come in the future."

Magus Nevrakis

The Magus of the Cult of the Serpent had departed the dais with all haste when the formalities had ended, and Sarahi found her diving head-first into the diversions of the banquet. She was sat at a wide table with a variety of other people around her, presumably her friends or colleagues. Her bare feet were kicked up onto the table, and she was alternating between drinking, eating grapes from a nearby plate, and talking and laughing with the others sat at her table. She seemed to spot Sarahi coming from some distance away, and Nevrakis' brows knitted together at the sight of her student. She didn't look directly at her Novitiate until she was done speaking, instead fussing with the contents of her plate.

"Yes, well, as am I, child." She said, not sounding particularly enthused. However, her expression suddenly shifted, and she looked back at Sarahi, knocking back her cup to drain it. Then she tossed the ceramic cup to the student and said, "Here, your training begins now. Fill that with beer and bring it back to me."

After Sarahi returned with the filled cup, Nevrakis wanted another plate of fruit. And after that, she wanted confections from the desserts table. It seemed like she had an unending list of desires, purely to keep Sarahi running around doing her petty bidding. At just about the point where Sarahi's patience was running out, the other Novitiate, Berenice, appeared. This again made Nevrakis' expression change slightly, her interest seemingly piqued by having two of her students present at once.

"Oh good, the other one." She said in a voice that sounded pleasantly surprised, as she licked honey from her fingers. "Now once that third shows up we can really get started."
@snickerdoodly Unfortunately the RP is already well underway, and I don't know where I can fit you in at this time. My fault for not switching off the vacancy sign so to speak, but I think you'll have to find another RP. If you can have your post deleted I'd appreciate it. Apologies for the confusion.
@snickerdoodly I'd prefer if you'd submit a CS with us before posting it in the tab for accepted characters.
@Vec I have a few different plot threads in mind, depending on where the characters go and how they develop. Some of these should be fairly apparent from descriptions in the Scion Codex.
@Obscene Symphony There are other Novitiates joining all of the Cults, they're just assigned to other Magi.

Students that attended the Pesedjet together have been classmates for the last few years. If nothing else they would recognize each other from their shared classes.

@Achronum I don't have a strict schedule in mind but I plan to keep things moving at a fairly brisk pace. Nothing worse than waiting on the GM.
@Achronum There are accommodations within the pyramids for those that choose to use them.
