@Dark Cloud Yeah that's a good way to think about it. Sort of like Oldwalkers, but less powerful at the get-go.

For a technological affinity, I'm imagining something along the lines of Sotha Sil, the Clockwork God.

@Dark CloudIt depends on the individual. Only the Old Gods were powerful enough to create worlds, but a New God is easily enough to render one lifeless.

Attaining a Key of Creation grants you a sliver of cosmic power. This on its own makes you a shit-hot demigod. Think like, Super Saiyan Goku. It also grants you the ability to travel through the Multiverse and do other divine nonsense, which opens up new and exciting forms of power to you. So with training/study/what have you, you can easily become much, much more powerful than that.

You've reached the pinnacle of your power, and only the heavens themselves still stand above you.

Of course, the only logical thing to do now is to ascend to the heavens themselves, right?

That's where the real party is. Welcome to the big leagues, kid.

You're one of the New Gods.

So this is my attempt to synthesize a high-power, Shounen-esque, isekai-adjacent RP about ultimate endgame characters meeting their equal on the multiversal stage.

Your character is the best of the best of their world, and has "beaten the game" so to speak. Nothing left to do but break into heaven, kill God, and start NG+.

Well, it turns out you're not the first person in the multiverse to have that idea, and others have beaten you to the punch.

The first of the New Gods breached heaven's firmament with dark science, killed the Old Gods, and stole their power.

They now spend their time intermittently trying to create a multiversal utopia, bickering amongst themselves, squatting in the ruins of Heaven, or battling for control of entire worlds and universes.

That's the sort of thing you get up to when you wield the raw power of Creation, not meant for mortal hands.

I have some light worldbuilding done, with a variety of elements drawn from inspirational sources such as MtG and K6BD, but I'm trying to keep this pretty open and easy-breezy.

There will be an overarching plot, as well as the option to as a character other than one of the New Gods, if that suits you.
