Current I think I'm Advanced+ level and could do that. But under Adv, I feel compelled to write a certain way and it makes writing feel more like a chore even if it's just in my head. Thus, I prefer Casual

Many people equate "Advanced" to "Big, high effort posts with lots of flowery language." It's a habitual thought I struggle to shake as an RPer with 20+ years of writing experience. It's very draining

"B-but I'm the one who-" Tanrith started, ready to put as much of the blame for the incident on himself as he could. However, his attempts were cut short as his attention was drawn to Raella for a moment. Normally, he would have been quite intrigued by the sudden display of magic and all of the fancy fanfare that accompanied her introduction! However, he wasn't quite feeling up to it at the moment. His gaze lingered on Raella for a moment before turning back toward Sarceron when his voice cuts into the air again.

Tanrith watched the firbolg give him a small nod and began to head off. That small acknowledgment did seem to brighten the little lizard up a little as his tail and shoulders straightened out a bit more, no longer as droopy as they were a few moments ago. He then heard the dragon behind him and turned around to look at who had once been such a source of inspiration and excitement not long ago.

"I-If I'm honest, I don't really understand it either...." Tanrith murmured up to the dragon. "B-but there are a lot of people out there who really care about nature and the trees and bushes and grass and stuff. I've got some friends in the Wylders who do, and I made some friends in Faunel who do too. and obviously Sarceron cared a lot too...." Tanrith frowned as he turned back toward the other firbolg, watching his retreating back. "B-but it doesn't matter. It's only right to respect that, right? I wanna make my friends happy. So even if I don't get it, if my friends care about it, then so do I!"

With that, he turned his attention back toward the dragon. "S-so can you please not do that again...? E-even when no one's watching. I-I mean...I-It's not like I'm trying to tell you what to do or anything, but...well, it's not costing you anything to NOT shoot the trees with your big decay, er...'death breath,' right...? It can't hurt to respect him a little more, can it...? Especially since he's the one who was living here...and he's one of the ones who's going through the hardest time right now.... A-and that just kinda made the whole thing harder on him."

"...Besides, don't you think that tree looked WAY prettier and WAY better before you hit it?"
Ah, it seems my getting swamped and my motivation being tanked was well-timed, as I guess I wasn't alone. xD

I know I said I'd get a reply in soon last time, but I mean it this time, I swear xD

EDIT: There we go, at long last. And I'm still not totally thrilled with what I got out, but better to get it in than let it continue to just say nothing at all.
@wanderingwolf Ah whoops, sorry about that, I've been suddenly really swamped for the last week and my writing motivation just TANKED. But I should be good to go again here shortly. I'll run some quick catch up and get in what I need to.

I'd be lying if I said the delay probably didn't have something to do with it, but xD

EDIT: JFC, perhaps thematically appropriate, but Saur waltzes in here with a Nat 20 for a total of 28. His actively perceptive tendencies and Bloodscale instincts kicked him into hyperdrive all of a sudden xD

would've rather that have been on an attack or check or something, but y'know whatever whatever~ xP

I read over the initiative rules, and it says by default, you use your Perception skill, right? As opposed to how D&D 5e uses the raw Dex modifier? I noticed some of the initiatives above were unmodified so I figured it might be worth clarifying xD
I'm fine with moving on! Seems like most of the group is leaning to moving on, and I've got no qualms with that. Saur's thing can be kind of rushed through/done off-screen in a single post and we can move right on to our way back to Teacher Ot~
Sorry for the delay on my part, got smacked across the face with a fierce bout of writer's block. But I'll try to have a reply out soon. xD
...Hm. Are people still around, or are people just waiting on something before they post...?
Saur

Saur's eye visibly twitched at Fleur's nonchalant response. Her words were clearly not going over well for him. "First and foremost, if somebody needed to go off and get a lay of the land, I hardly think you're the most qualified," the crimson Kobold muttered...as he began to feel a heat rise in his chest, as his anger began to rise. And thus, a mini rant-slash-lecture began to get rambled from his maw, going until he was either finished or interrupted. "And besides that, do you somehow think you're the only one here who came here for the purpose this school preaches? My entire purpose for even being in this foreign land in the first place is to figure out this latent dragon magic that's apparently inside me! Yet for whatever reason, you seem convinced that you're somehow better than us and above the tasks that we're being instructed to perform!? I assure you, I would love nothing more than to hurry and learn about magic so I can return abroad and resume serving my clan. But we must follow the orders of our superiors in order to get to that point."

Finally, his sudden fit of anger seemed to be subsiding and his tail no longer lashed about. The kobold huffed and turned his attention back up to the sky again, scowling. "...I do have to cede to the point of time, however," Saur admitted. "I will let this matter slide for now. Especially if I'm going to take a little bit of extra time to track down that baker and make up for ruining his morning's work." He paused for a moment, turning to look back up at the rest of the group again. "If there's any interest in assistance in this matter to be offered to help restore our group's reputation, I will accept it. Otherwise, I shall take care of the matter myself and meet up with the rest of you afterward."
Hmmm...this is a very good question. For Tanrith, I know that for sure that if he did, he would probably only jump on, like...a couple years after everyone else has been doing it for years. xD

"Wait, you're telling me I can meet new people from all over just by using this little machine? Man, who even invented this thing, what a great idea! I wonder if there's a way I can improve it at all...."

Is this how this works? Oh yeah every letter I push shows up in there, cool! Okay hi! Tanrith here! The Lightning Fang of the Stormclaws!
Tanrith

"Um...wh-what else do I say?"

Everyone remember to make the most of your life! Don't let the rough patches keep you down!
Tanrith

"Yeah, that sounds good!"

And then he proceeds to post updates every time he finds something interesting or cool on his travels and reposts, likes and comments on EVERY single post his friends make~ xD He never sees a friend request he turns down, and would absolutely, unironically interact even with bots. xP
Saur

Saur smiled as Alandri seemed to agree with him. He took the bucket he was handed, taking a moment to observe it; it would seem that he was given an opportunity to take one of the fish he had caught for himself. That would indeed make this a lot more meaningful. "Thank you, Ms. Alandri," the kobold replied, giving her another bow. "I would offer to help carry your fish inside, but I believe time may be running short. I would like to avoid further tardiness if I can. I vow on my honor as a Bloodscale that we will be back at the appropriate hour next time,"

With that sorted, Saur turned back toward the others as he lugged his bucket and fish back toward the rest of the group. However, he paused as he could not help but overhear the conversation...and notice the approach of the same one who had left before. There was a very noticeable twitch on his brow, his tail swishing around in agitation.

"Well, it seems Her Highness has decided to re-grace us with her presence," he grumbled, strangely more sarcastic than his usual formal speech would have allowed. But now that he was no longer addressing a superior and somebody more on his level, he suddenly seemed a bit more slack on his manners. He stepped up to the rest of the crew, narrowing his eyes at Fleur. "Things went quite well, no thanks to you. I hope you have a suitable explanation for abandoning your clutch when we had a task at hand. Even this one"--Saur gestured toward Elaeshor--"at least contributed in some way."

The small, 2-and-a-half-foot tall, blood-colored Kobold looked up toward Fleur with his emerald gaze expectantly, clearly waiting for some kind of response.

Thank you, I enjoyed writing her a lot as well xD

Fellwing would know trolls are a type of fae and their societies tend to be very reclusive. They're one of the few types of fae that actually don't really interact with dragons that much, so it's surprising to see one not only close to dragon territory but also deliberately heading towards the capitol. Fellwing would also know that trolls are nocturnal, so seeing one out during the day is very odd.

I don't think she'd know much besides that. Again, they tend to keep to themselves.

...I feel like the fact that they are in a group approaching the capital should concern me. Does this concern me? I don't know~ xD
