Alex vaguely felt himself being lifted off the street, and then he was carted away by the Man in Black. The impact of the round against his side had knocked all the breath out of him, even though the bullet itself had shattered against his skin, leaving no wounds other than a large bruise and a large hole in his hoodie and shirt. As he felt himself get lowered to the floor, the Man in Black hissed a question his way. He attempted to shake the haze of confusion from his head as he sat up, bracing himself with a hand while he rubbed his side where he'd been shot.

"I- I should be asking you that question, mate! You're the one getting shot at! Bloody hell, that hurt!"

Alex stumbled onto his feet, keeping behind the wall for now. He didn't know where the other attackers were; clearly the Man in Black had better senses than he did, but he could tank a lot more damage. With his handkerchief still wrapped firmly around the lower half of his face, he took a quick peek out from behind the wall.

"Doesn't matter- I can take more hits than you can, probably. Bullets bounce right off me, although big ones like that can knock me on me arse. Why don't I hop out there and draw them out for you?"

And without waiting for a reply, Alex stepped out from behind the wall, cracking his knuckles as he walked forwards out from behind the boathouse. He could hear another commotion directly in front of him, although he couldn't see the villain headed straight for him due to the shadows of the trees in the park obscuring his sight. Instead, he planted his feet firmly on the pavement and raised his arms up in a traditional boxing stance, ready to intercept anything that headed towards him.
Interest here.

Delsin listened as the President and Bentley conversed with the voice in the wind, arms crossed as he waited impatiently for them to finish. At the mention of these so-called 'colossi', he grinned, stuffed his hands in the pockets of his jeans and walked towards Bentley.

"Finally, somethin' worth doin'."

As the turtle laid out his plans for tackling the monumental task they had ahead of them, Delsin surveyed the landscape to their west. More featureless plains, dotted here and there with trees. A small valley with a bridge, and a mountain range further ahead. He couldn't even see a prison from where he stood. The distance from the temple to...wherever it was westwards wasn't something to laugh at either. As Delsin's attention turned back to the turtle showing off his gadgets, he decided to show off a little himself. He let the length of chain wrapped around his right arm unfurl a little and grabbed the end, snapping it taut in his hands in front of him. He let his smoke powers condense around the length of metal, heating it till it was smoking, as streams of smoke flowing from his hands and arms.

"This is what I can do. I can turn into smoke and use that hot smoke to make this chain here real hot. I can also shoot bullets of smoke out of my hands. I ain't the fastest thing around here, but I'll kick some ass if you point me in the right direction."

Delsin let the smoke disperse as the metal chain cooled down, before wrapping it back around his arm after making sure it was cool enough to handle. He hooked his thumbs in the waist of his jeans as he glanced around him, many thoughts swirling in his head. This was way different than the city; after all, back then, he'd fought a woman who could control concrete and had just killed his brother. There were a percentage of people that had powers like his. Except that his power wasn't the manipulation of smoke, it was the absorption of other powers. When he'd crossed the threshold to this new world, he wanted to see what new powers he could find and use. Maybe people in other universes had other types of powers? He didn't know. All he knew was that his world and his life was in danger and he'd jumped on the chance to save what remained of his family and friends. He took one more look across the plains westwards that led to the prison and shrugged.

"And that sounds like a plan. Although, from here to there, looks like a helluva distance. You guys prepared for such a walk?"
I shall express my interest here, as I am 100% Chinese and I have a distinct lack of wuxia RP in my life.

Alexander Mackey walked along the street, hands in his pockets. The night was mostly quiet, save for the beeping of car horns in the distance. He was on his way home from work, his barista apron slung over his shoulder as he made his usual walk through the park back to his apartment. Alex worked at a cafe nearby and, as was his custom for a few years now, he made this walk through the park his daily commute.

But today, it was different. As Alex drew the hood of his hoodie up over his head to combat the cold breeze, he caught a telltale scent. And an even more familiar sound.

Cordite. Very recent. Just after a spattering of loud, not fully suppressed gunfire echoed from the streets in front him. And coupled with a commotion in the section of park ahead.

"Not good..."

With his hood still up, Alex dug a hand into his back pocket and pulled a square of cloth that he wrapped around the lower half of his face to hide his identity and ducked down. As he moved forward, he heard more than saw another burst of gunfire. The fact that their guns were softer than normal meant suppressors, not some typical drive-by shooting or gang-related thing. It was professional. His mind put two and two together as he hugged the bushes, moving from hiding spot to hiding spot as he approached where the gunfire was coming from. In a clearing, he spied a very strange scene: a man in a black hat and trench coat holding up the body of...someone. Blood coated the street behind him, and within the darkness of the park, Alex could see bodies. Dead bodies.

Alex pushed out of the bush he was hiding behind and made a dash towards the Man in Black, an arm extended as if to see if he was okay.

"Sir! I-"

And that was when it hit him. A bullet slammed into his side with enough force to knock him over, sending him head over heels onto the pavement behind the Man in Black. The report of the gun was extremely loud and echoed through the entire neighbourhood. Stunned briefly but not out of the fight, Alex shook his head to clear the cobwebs as he felt the heat of the .50 BMG round spread all over his right side. There was a small fist-sized hole in his hoodie and a bruise about the size of his face on the flesh underneath that, but oddly enough, he hadn't been torn in half by the monstrous rifle round. Instead, he kept himself on the ground, trying to get his thoughts together as he let his body recover from tanking the heavy blow.
Interested, if you'll have someone that has a small repository of soldier-type characters.

"Jesus H Christ, my guy, way to assert your dominance. Whatever, it's not like you're the weirdest person in the room."

Delsin muttered to himself as the aptly named Boss took charge and gave the order to cross the bridge to the temple structure ahead of them. A plan that literally anyone else could've come up with, but hey if someone wanted to be in charge, he'd let them. As the group made their way across the bridge, Delsin slowed his steps to fully appreciate the breeze that blew across the stone, feeling the cold cut through his jacket and vest. He idly held a hand up and let a few thin ribbons of smoke stream from the tips of his fingers, before stopping as Bentley and Tiz passed him by.

The group approached the temple rather quickly, and a voice that spoke from all around them addressed them. As Bentley conversed with whatever it was that spoke to them, Delsin stuffed his hands in his pockets and looked around, turning around slowly on the spot as he took in the temple around them, and the grassy fields that extended for miles in every direction except up.

"Jeez...how big is this damn place? Feels like you could get lost just by walkin' the other way..." Delsin muttered to himself as he took in all the wide open space for the second time in as many minutes as it'd took them to walk across the stone bridge. He adjusted his beanie on his head as a rogue gust of wind threatened to blow it off and he sighed.

What had he gotten himself into?

"Ow! Could've at least warned me..."

Delsin rubbed his upper arm from where the needle had jabbed into it. The vaccination was necessary, of course, from what he'd heard, but then again all this multiverse business was even newer to him than his powers. He was simply dressed for his mission; beanie, his jacket, jeans and shoes, with his chain wrapped around his right arm. As the rest of the teams geared up for their missions, he joined his teammates: an anthropomorphic turtle in a wheelchair and another young man. The turtle introduced himself as Bentley, and Delsin decided to follow suit.

"Delsin Rowe. Where I come from, I'm kind of a big deal. Saved my city from some psycho woman who was imprisoning people like me to "cure" us, whatever that was worth. Oh, and I can turn into smoke."

As he stepped through the portal to join the rest of the team, he marvelled at the open space of the Forbidden Lands. He let the length of heavy-duty chain unfurl a little from his arm and gripped it in his hand, ready to use it as a whip in case anything decided to pop out and attack them.

"Bad feeling's right. I've got your back, Bentley."
