Yup. Like, "they're weaker than us and more emotional, that's why we gotta protect them", sort of way. Might feel closer to chauvinism than racism, but with less of the power dynamic.

Yeah it feels a little more like that or patronization than full blown racism.
Hehe yes yes Super/Kid Buu have fallen asleep in the short pauses between battles, at most a Majin needs a few minutes to be fully rested.

If your going by Dragon Ball Super, Buu according to Mr. Satan, only needs one second to sleep to be fully rested, rarely ending up sleeping for a month or two at a time.

Going by Super's logic, I'd suppose a full ten minute rest per day would be more than enough for a Majin to be fully rested without worry of suddenly falling into a two month long slumber.

Are we talking about the same Dragon Ball Super? The same Buu? Because I remember the one where Buu went to sleep and couldn't be woken up for days at a time, and screwing Universe 7 out of having him on their team for both Tournaments he was needed for.
Han had spent the majority of the flight and waiting periods in silent meditation. Something was clearly on his mind that he had not yet become keen to share. And this time was spent contemplating that something. It was Goda, or rather, Goda's words to be more precise. The way he phrased himself had made it clear to Han that escaping the shadows of his father would not be so simple. Even now, Han was evidently still seen as an asset. He doubted this had anything to do with fatherly love, either, since even when he was a Wuye-ying, such affection was never shown to him. How any parent could view their child as little more than an asset or investment was a horrible thing to think about, but it didn't stop that from being the case.

And the meeting with Niko's contact didn't exactly make things better. She asserted that Han could still be targeting Niko and simply doing all this as a ruse to lower his guard. Niko was quick to jump to Han's defense, but... the conversation still stung. Even here, with strangers in a strange land, Han couldn't seem to escape from being attached to his father and the Wuye-ying. He'd closed his eyes and took a few contemplative breaths. Sure, he could correct the girl, point out that he had severed ties with his father three and a half years ago and had been independent ever since. But what was the point? He doubted it would clear him of any suspicion, and he certainly didn't want to appear overly defensive as that would also serve to make things worse.

But none of this was the focus here. Niko had gotten his answers. He couldn't present it to a Judge as evidence, but he appeared to consider it to be a start at least. Naturally he was eager to put the pressure on and make his would-be killers pay. But Han sighed, knowing this would be far from simple. And while he hated to rain on someone's parade, he had to speak up anyway.

"That will be far from simple." he pointed out, "If this company had such repeated dealings with my father, then there is no doubt that he and all his assassins will be trying to stop us. He may have spared me once, but I doubt that "kindness" will last forever. Especially not from Goda. If there's one thing that man has truly mastered, it's holding a grudge. By now he will have learned of his men's failure and have been reprimanded by my father. He won't be so sporting next time, I'm afraid." he paused, but unfortunately he wasn't quite finished yet, "And there's still the other Lieutenant: Li. He was my father's personal apprentice before he started focusing on training me. And above all that is of course the man himself, probably the deadliest assassin in the entire world by far."
So like does that mean we can finally go shopping? Because my girl needs a new handbag. And makeup set. And a change of clothes. And I guess we can get stuff like food and other survival supplies while we are at it. But only if there is money left after the essentials are taken care off.

Wait, you're planning to pay for your stuff? Shit, I was just gonna loot one of the abandoned shops for my replacement Scouter.
@Bright_Ops

Looks good, accepted.

At least we didn't wait as long as we did for KH3, right? xD

Long ago, people lived in peace, bathed in the warmth of light. Everyone loved the light. Then people began to fight over it. They wanted to keep it for themselves. And darkness was born in their hearts. The darkness spread, swallowing the light and many people's hearts. It covered everything, and the world disappeared. But small fragments of light survived... in the hearts of children. With these fragments of light, children rebuilt the lost world. It's the world we live in now. But the true light sleeps deep within the darkness. That's why the worlds are still scattered, divided from each other. But someday, a door to the innermost darkness will open. And the true light will return. So listen, child. Even in the deepest darkness, there will always be a light to guide you. Believe in the light, and the darkness will never defeat you. Your heart will shine with its power and push the darkness away.

In the seemingly idyllic community of Twilight Town, the year is reaching its end and a new one fast approaches. With the Christmas holiday over, there still yet remains a week of festivities and celebration. It is called the New Dawn Festival, founded to celebrate the New Year that over the years had had other festivities attached to it. Much is planned for this final week of the Winter Break, the Carnival itself features rides and games at the pier. Many stores have special sales going on. On the day before New Year's Eve, a special Winter Cup of the Struggle Tournament is planned to be held at the beloved Sandlot. On the night of New Year's Eve, the New Dawn Festival itself is held, where fun and games can be had going all the way to midnight. In short, there's much fun to be had and plenty of places and ways to do it. In all the excitement, the students may find it easy to forget that the second half of the school year will begin the day after New Year's Day, and like in the Summer there is a homework assignment due. For this occasion the assignment involves a paper to be written about the history of the New Dawn Festival, and the important names and dates associated with it.

It is here where our story begins, following the week-long activities and exploits of a certain group of classmates. As they laugh, play, compete in the struggle, or work on their school project. There is so much to look forward to, so much laughter and happiness through out the community. There seems to be nothing that could ruin this week for anyone.

This role play is for those who miss the similar times, when Kingdom Hearts was just a coming of age story about a kid fighting cartoonish villains with his giant key. As such, don't expect a lot of the complexities and elements introduced by the later games of the series. Maybe some of that can come at a later time if the story gets far enough to warrant it. Otherwise, this is for all intents and purposes a "retelling" of Kingdom Hearts 1. The only difference will be the main protagonists being entirely original, and also us taking advantage of ~20 years of retcons and hindsight in order to tell what will hopefully be a more streamlined and (maybe) less convoluted version of the story. Well, we can try at least!

Rules

1. The GM (and in any Co-GM in the event I assign one) has the final say.
2. You will of course be required to follow the rules of the site. No brainer, I suppose.
3. You won't need a Master's Degree in KH Lore (though it will probably help you a lot) but I do at least ask you have played at least one game in the series.
4. Since we're retelling the first game, Characters will have to be in that general age range that Sora was. 14-16 range.
5. Everyone starts in Twilight Town, and no one is allowed to have come from any other world or have knowledge of other worlds. I know that sounds restrictive, and I apologize, but I will not be making exceptions to this rule. So, please don't ask me to.
6. I'll be controlling all the NPCs and Villains. But the random Heartless encounters I'll be less strict about and give you some amount of control of the monsters in question. This should allow you to make fairly thorough posts when in battles against the Heartless.
7. Speaking of battle, I don't plan on following any strict stats system or the like. Characters will just naturally become more skilled and acrobatic and the like as the story progresses. There are a few obvious caveats, though. For instance, Glide and other such story-related abilities will be awarded to you by me when the plot dictates it.
8. Let's all just have some fun and try to get along, yeah?

@Double

So we're starting in Twilight Town. Is this a situation where it's all we've ever known or would we have memories of live before it?

It'll be all you've ever known. I wasn't kidding when I implied we'd be dialing back the craziness and sticking to KH1 storytelling. Other things might get referenced or introduced later if we get far enough to warrant it, but for all intents and purposes this is a KH1 Retelling (just with the benefits of 20 years of hindsight, xD).
@metanoia

I suppose that depends on the size of group I'm ultimately looking for. I said earlier that KH stories tend to work best when it involves a trio of protagonists, and I meant it, but at the same time that would equate to a pretty small group here on RPG. I suppose I'd be fine with that, assuming everyone here is fully committed to joining and everything.
