@Xandrya@Sickle-cell We do have both a Discord and a Skype group that we use for chatting and what not, if either of you want in on that.

@PlatinumSkink Collaboration is definitely an option given how there won't be any interaction with anybody else leading to what could be quite a bit of back and forth. I'm open to PMs, Piratepad, or anything else you're comfortable with. More detailed information regarding the PRT I'll have to leave to propro.
@Dead Cruiser I would prefer to have your post be out before my Alma post as you're on defense meaning you should have time to make your actions before the attackers do.

As for everyone else... @Kafka Komedy@MagnetBolt@Redward@jdh97@Scarifar

Any word? Are you unsure how events are proceeding and don't want to make a post until others do to explain where their characters are? Something else? A little communication goes a long ways.
Whoop you got me, added in my free stuff and levels. As for the services, yeah I'll just say he'll cough up the money for a small tip regarding Frozen Cave and Route 5.
Dawkin posts are no longer relevant to Martin but oops you get a mention anyways XD
Dawkin Trustram

Dawkin paused a moment to help digest the information he'd accumulated. He might visit the Gym to see if he could watch a battle to get a feel for the Gym Leader's strength but he wouldn't be fighting her. He'd probably want to aim to visit a town with a minor gym so he could start getting badges, but he would need to work on his team first. Dawkin felt like the ice caverns might have something he wanted but it'd be best to visit the Explorer's Guide Service to check before heading there. Of course the Endless Forest also held potential but- "Huh?" Dawkin was broken out of his thoughts by something being pressed against him which he reflexively grabbed to keep from falling. He looked down at it puzzled before glancing up to see the tail-end of a green hood flitting out of sight. No way he'd be catching that.

Curious, he naturally opened up the letter and read it, a chill going down his spine upon seeing the contents. This... had they actually taken him seriously? Or was this just a threat, if he didn't do this he'd run into trouble? Either way... Even a third of 15,000 P was a bit, as well as getting on the good side of Team Amethyst. Like the first offer, this wasn't anything illegal. Dawkin pressed his fingers lightly against his temple in thought. He would be going alone Route 5 anyway. Well... Time to get some more information. Dawkin decided he would head to the Explorer's Guide Service to see if they could tell him what Pokémon to expect along Route 5, the Ice Caverns, and in the Endless Forest. And maybe if they a thing or two about Pichus.

Action: Get MOAR information.

\Education in America: And How To Start Fixing It

Education is a very important part of our society. It is the entire foundation for how upcoming generations learn about the world and how to interact with it. However, our education system faces several problems that prevent it from operating as effectively as it should. Now some of these problems are quite complex, which makes sense, as if they weren't, they likely would have been solved by now. Regardless, the problems that are going to be focused on are the interactions between students and teachers, as well students and other students. In addition, the problem of sleep deprived kids attending school and the focuses of our education system as a while. Thus, I propose later starting times for schools, a shift in the focus of early education, and a greater prioritization of resources for schools.

First and foremost, the easiest problem, teenagers are sleep deprived. Teenagers need around 9 hours of sleep to function properly. "Today nearly 3/4 get under 8 hours of sleep per night, and over 2/5 get 6 or fewer." Why Change. The detrimental effects of sleep deprivation are as varied as they are well known. "Sleep deprivation's impacts include: weight gain and eating disorders and increased risk of obesity, cardiovascular problems, and diabetes; reduced immunity; depression; anxiety; substance abuse; mood swings; behavior problems; suicidal ideation; and potential impacts on brain development. "Why Change. Furthermore, anyone who's tried to attend class on too few hours of sleep knows its awfully hard to learn anything. It's pretty clear that teenagers need more sleep and the easiest way to do that is to push the starting hours for schools up and inform parents, as well as students, that a regular sleep schedule is important. Evidence also supports that this is not only a good idea on paper, but also in practice. Several schools across the US have found that pushing up their starting hours has resulted in overall increased health and performance for students.

Secondly is the interactions that happen at school, in the way the students interact both with teachers and each other. It's clear from both personal experience and research that kids today are harder to teach than ever. “Why It's So Hard to Teach Students These Days." It is a question of students unwilling or unable to participate in learning and not respecting teachers enough to even try. Being able to command the attention and respect of students today long enough to teach them is a difficult feat indeed. With the shift towards technology and quick short blurts of social media, it results in a lower ability to learn. "Those habits are marked by short attention spans, a very limited vocabulary and unwillingness to look up new words, an aversion to lengthy passages, and a preference for “scanning” rather than close reading." “Why It's So Hard to Teach Students These Days." Fixing something like this is impossible to do in a single step. However, when looking for solution to a problem, sometimes it is best to look at the example of others. Many education systems across the world differ, but one that produces remarkable results is Japan's. There is one facet of that education system that would be incredibly beneficial to export to America. The first three years of schooling in Japan are not spent on exams and learning 'scholarly' subjects, but rather on how to act. "Children are taught to respect other people and to be gentle to animals and nature. They also learn how to be generous, compassionate, and empathetic. Besides this, the kids are taught qualities like grit, self-control, and justice." Brightside. These are traits that are shamefully lacking in American students. One of the ways Japanesse students are taught respect and hard-work is that instead of relying on janitors to clean the classroom, they are entirely responsible for cleaning the school themselves. In schools today it is rare to see students pick up after themselves, much less others. In the past it this sort of character building was left to the parents. However, it is becoming more and more apparent that this is not sufficient.

Teachers do far more than the job description and don't get compensated accordingly. According to a survey of more than 1,800 public and private school teachers conducted in the 2015-16 school year by the nonprofit AdoptAClassroom.org (of which I am the executive director), the average American educator spends $600 of her own money every year on basic supplies. Education Week. Imagine if, when going to work at a fast food place, you had to pay for spatula to flip burgers, to pay for replacement parts for the ice-cream machine. You are not expected to pay for these things, it would be un-reasonable to expect such a thing. Yet teachers have to deal with this everyday. And that's just in order to fulfill the most basic of educational requirements, let alone additional supplies that might make lessons interesting and exciting. But even beyond that, teachers spend far more hours than is on the job description, not necessarily because they want to, but because its virtually impossible to do the job competently without doing so. Hours they don't get paid for. Stack this on top of a mediocre pay grade to begin with and not only is the job difficult to preform, it's unappetizing to consider starting. Teachers are in high demand and short supply, "In 2008, there were about 3.5 million kindergarten, elementary, middle and high school teachers in the country, so we can expect almost another 500,000 to be hired by 2018. Also indicative of the high demand for teachers is the large volume of grants available for teachers." Teach.

Sophia Grandeur

Sophia, like Hilda, waved her hand dismissively. "Ah no thank you, wouldn't feel right." Without knowing the owner, or exactly what was in here she didn't feel comfortable taking anything from it, much less drinks. As for Callum's question... "I think it should be clear all of us are looking for power one way or another. Power to change either our own situation or that of our home. At least that's my reason. As for whether or not I'm any good at it, it doesn't really matter. 'No' isn't acceptable and I'll do whatever I need to to succeed so there shouldn't be a problem." Sophia was self-assured, one might even say arrogant, but it was an front for herself more than anything else. After all, if dropping her entire life and committing everything she had to this task wasn't enough... Well she would have to accept that was powerless and would continue to be so, something she was unwilling to do.

Of course combined with this was that Sophia had naturally taken to anything she'd tried to learn so it was hard for her to imagine something that she couldn't learn given sufficient time and effort put into it. Callum seemed to be slightly scared of Hilda, while Leonardo seemed almost the opposite, although perhaps that was just because he was friendly in general. Well, if these were to be her fellow apprentices, they weren't the worst group. Sophia yawned and leaned back with her eyes closed. Wow these seats really were quite comfortable, she'd slept in beds worse than these. It was nice to be off her feet and be able to relax a bit, even if it was in a mysterious magic carriage powered by mysterious magic horses.
Solomon

Solomon remained still as a voice came from above. It was violent, paranoid, and probably a warning of further harm to come. Of course it was something different from the seemingly mindless hordes behind them so perhaps it could be reasoned with. "We're not rats." Arguable point but still, "Just trying to make it out of here alive and we could use a hand with that." If they could even truly be called alive at this point, regardless Solomon had a desire to continue this state of existence and the wound he suffered indicated that future ones would jeopardize that.

Having no idea of the danger coming from above, much less being able to do something about it: Solomon moved forward cautiously towards the flash of silver from what must have been Ihosha's weapon so as to distance himself slightly from the mob behind them that was encroaching in wake of the fading light. He wasn't exactly sure what the plan was here but he was hoping somebody thought of something fast, as if they didn't someone how lose the ravening monstrosities behind them their situation would be even worse than before considering how much they'd all already exerted themselves. Not that he was sure they had much choice in the matter...
The Adventures Of Wisp Creep

Creep would have the night to brood over what she'd discovered peacefully enough, although whether that was a result of her paranoia or merely the original result was impossible to say. Regardless of what she did to pass the time in the morning Shatterpoint would be at the same place early in the morning, a few Rockers were in the area making sure no one else showed up to disrupt it. Though they weren't aware of exactly what they were doing there, they also didn't care too much as long as they had a job to do.

Sofia Stien - Train yard

Sofia gave a little fist-pump in a way that seemed to say go team as well going a quite "woo." when the two baddies fell and were subsequently incarcerated in one of the train cars. Sofia shrugged upon hearing Thunderbird's suggestion, "I don't think I can run around by myself very well. I'm probably better off keeping hanging onto someone. You could give me a piggyback ride and I could keep you safe from everything!" Sofia said cheerily and she raised her arms and stretched her fingers as if she was trying to grab onto his shoulders. It was unclear if she was joking, but it might be a good idea regardless. Certainly Thunderbird seemed to think so as he came over and indeed let her got on his shoulders, much to her delight. Sofia did another fist-pump as though leading an imaginary army, "Onward, you can ignore everything! Or anything you tell me to anyway."
