Sitting here with people complaining about the state of the Guild's servers, and I'm here having been using the site for a little over a year and have never once had a single issue.
@BingTheWing Is there a limit on the number of characters allowed? And if so I may have to pm you with a few questions so I can get some things done right.
A bit interested, seen an episode or two of this, enough to be fairly interested but not enough to be confident in my knowledge of the setting or how this would properly work. I am nevertheless interested so I am willing to try and give a CS a shot and see how it turns out.
@Eneui hmm, is there more on the world religion? I want me Knight to be Crusader styled, preferably Teutonic
Elves are generally known as atheists, humans are spread across the whole religious spectrum, Dwarves revere their ancestors and a single god.
The largest practiced religion among the humans is a variant of the " Nine Divines " A group of gods and goddesses from the elder scrolls series. Much like the series they are based from they are a matter of constant debate among the human kingdoms.
You have the normal group here as you have with many other religions in history and fantasy.
Goddess of Love and Fertility
Godess of the sea / storms
Goddess of man ( Not the major deity, simply the one who had supposedly created humanity and helped them flourish in a land of magic and gods. She is attributed to many things such as the creation of farming, hunting implements, and the discovery of fire. )
The High Lord ( The one deity who is widely accepted, and is often called the ruler among the gods. Those who rule the capital are often said to be a physical conduit of the High Lord himself. )
A few things, as I had been reminded that it would be a good idea to keep up with this, no brainer huh? Well I get distracted pretty easily so bear with me.
First, yes if you wish you can provide your own details for the kingdom that your character comes from. There is a Capital of sorts ruled by an " Emperor " though there is still quite a bit of fighting between eachother the capital was a safe place and the last bastion of resistance against the flood of evil brought on by the failure of the so called " Chosen " adventurers.
The capital is set on the eastern coast of the known world in a plains sort of biome, a massive area mostly dominated by large farms and small hunting villages other than the massive city that is the capital. To the direct north is the mountains, to the west is a forested area hugging the edges of the mountains of the north, to the south-west on the opposite coast is a dessert.
I do realize that my information may be a bit bare but honestly I never expected to get too far with my interest check, I will continue to update this post as information becomes available.
@Eneui Is there any more lore of the world, or do we make up our Kingdoms and such ourselves?
More than likely yes, creating your own kingdoms would be the idea, or at least filling in a few details. I do however have the major kingdom going at the moment. Think a central location of power that was used during the time when the heroes were still alive. A capital of sorts for the known human world.
You are not here to save the world, you are not here to bring some sliver of hope to those still left. The world is broken and forgotten, and you have been left behind by all those you hold dear. You, as well as an unknown amount of other knights have been left in this place to die. Blade against blade you have forgotten why you lived, you have forgotten friends and family and forsaken all for the glory of battle, and now you find yourself in a world of only battle where you may find no glory and no comfort. Where previously you fought for a purpose, for a god, a kingdom or even a lover, here you fight only for survival and madness. Why do you go on, how? Knowing that one strike is all it takes, knowing that you are no longer the strong one, that you no longer hold the position of predator, only prey. How do you live on the run from every shadow, every flickering flame and every blade, drawn or unseen?
And yet, on the horizon there is hope, a slim dying thing that gasps and clings to life as you do, unknowing of it's importance in events to come. For this reason, for that sliver of hope alone you move on. The blades of the unknown you no longer fear, you seek them out and they too seek you, for one thing is common among-st you knights, lost in the darkness of a world forgotten, you all strive to see the sun again.
( insert picture if you wish / I myself dislike using photos of real people it seems strange to me but use whatever you feel is appropriate for your character. )
Name:
Age:
Gender:
Appearance:
Race: ( Dwarves and Elves exist, but both are drops in the ocean compared to humans. Dwarves hide underground for their own reasons, while Elves are nearly the only known race who can properly use magic, but have such a low birth rate and population that they normally avoid conflict with the others. )
Kingdom/Alliance:( Where do they come from? Who do they fight for? Who are the people they fight for and what were their goals before the current situation. Do their people live in a specific location? )
Background: ( Quick summary of their life. Where did they grow up? Who were their parents, their family? Why did they choose the life of a warrior? If they had a lover or children, who were they? Were they still alive when the world collapsed? What were their last moments in battle before they awoke in this world? )
______________
The world was fading, the villain found what he had been searching for. You few, the front-line of the battle never really understood what that was, only that it was magical in nature and caused the fading of the sun itself.
Your last moments were in battle, fighting to protect, for bloodlust, for the sheer animalistic fear that clouded your mind in a world that seemed to fold inward on itself. It was almost as if you had been chosen, those among the many who could be called true warriors, not farmers conscripted and forced into ill fitting armor.
You all awoke in small groups, scattered across the lands in the places you last saw. You only remember closing your eyes for a mere moment as something struck you, a blade, an arrow, a club. But now you awake here, as if you had been asleep for years.
The world around you is ruin, bodies no longer fresh and the air still. However, though nature has reclaimed the world to some point, you hear and see no animals, the crops are withered and the only things alive are those who are hardy enough to live in a wasteland.
